Sports Marketing Essay
The price that we pay is the value that we associate to any product, whether it is a good or service. It
is the compensation given to a person or authority to purchase an object or service. The greater the
value associated to the product, the greater the price.
The pricing process is dependent upon factors which can be categorized as internal and external
factors. The internal factors include the factors that are within the control of the organization or the
producer, whereas the external factors are influenced by the market or factors which are beyond the
control of the producer.
Internal Factors
The internal factors are inclusive of the marketing mix of the organization and the organizational
goals. The product itself is a huge ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The greater the demand of a product, the greater the associated value, and hence greater will be
price. Price is also dependent upon the supply of a product, the lower the supply, the higher the
price. The price of a product is also dependent upon the state of the overall economic conditions. At
the time of the recent recession, the ticket prices of matches and merchandise were set at a
comparatively lower level than at the time of a boom. (Kotler)
Pricing Strategies
Moving on towards the various pricing strategies, the first pricing strategy is the differential pricing.
This is to charge different prices to different target markets, which is usually not considered illegal
in the case of services. The prices charged differ according to the types of customers being served
for example children and disabled people usually get a discount on ticket prices.
The second pricing strategy is the penetration pricing where the product enters newly into the
market. To gain some consumer base from the competitors, the seller initially charges a lower price
than the competitors. For example the ticket prices initially charged for IPL, Indian Premier League,
matches were lower than the ticket price of the competition ICL matches. On the contrary, price
skimming strategy is to grab the financially top class of the market and to do this, the seller charges
high prices. The effectiveness of this strategy is based upon

Soccer And Globalization Essay
Globalization is erasing country borders. It's expanding something to a worldwide scale, and
generally making the world a little bit smaller. When you think of globalization in terms of sports,
the best example is soccer. Soccer is something that started in 1863 as a simple game played in
England by people of humble beginnings and not long after that turned into a worldwide
phenomenon (Parrish). Soccer has over 3.5 billion fans worldwide. When you really think about that
number you realize how big of a deal that is. That's about 50% of the world's population. Meaning
that 1 in every 2 people watch, play, and generally enjoy soccer. The globalization aspect of it comes
in when you know that its regional popularity is in Europe, Africa, ... Show more content on

According to Branko Milanovic of Yale Global Online: Soccer is the most globalized sport. Owners
of any sporting team demand and pay for top talent from anywhere in the world. Before 1995,
soccer rules in Europe limited the number of foreign players to a handful per club. A Belgian player
successfully protested that the rules violated European laws on labor mobility and discrimination.
Since then, the doors have opened wide and skills in the game have improved, though talent is
increasingly concentrated among the wealthiest teams and nations. (Milanovic) The fact that they
took it as far as bringing up labor laws and discrimination so as to demand to play in a different
country's team shows these players' passion for playing with a strong team, and their passion for the
game. Although players play for football clubs throughout the years, when the World Cup roles
around most players return to their country of origin as a way to still represent their national pride.
Over the years, soccer has seen more and more globalization. During my research I came across a
couple of charts that explain it all very clearly. There are flags of national teams on the top of the
chart and flags of football clubs on the bottom of the chart with lines drawn that connect the two.
The lines represent what football club a country's players play when they don't play for their
national team. These lines are connecting all kinds of combinations of players

Formerly known as the European Champions Clubs' Cup (European Cup) the UCL was the result of
a measured overhaul of European football, in response to advances in technology, namely satellite
television. The challenge the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) faced was how best
to oversee this transitional phase whilst maintaining the crucial brand equity attached to the
'European Cup' brand name.
The report will discuss the affiliation between UEFA and marketing specialists Television Event and
Media Marketing (TEAM). The writer will show that this association was fundamental to the
emergence of the UCL and discuss the strategies developed by TEAM to ensure the competition was
seen as a credible and visible brand.
The writer will provide evidence to suggest that the shrewd branding of the UCL and the cognisant
approach taken towards the competitions life cycle have been major influences in this meteoric rise.
2. Background Information
It has been suggested that the UCL is a product of societal evolution. After forty years without
change the European Cup had become commercially obsolete to broadcasters and sponsors due to
the lack of guaranteed matches involving Europe's biggest clubs (Ahlstrom, 2002). The knockout
format allowed for clubs who would bring in large sums of revenue to be eliminated after merely
two games. In 1992, under pressure from both broadcasters and Europe's foremost clubs, UEFA re–

Although he was often homesick in his new country, Messi moved quickly through the junior
system ranks, and by the age of 16, he had made his first appearance for Barcelona. Messi put
himself in the record books on May 1, 2005, as the youngest player to ever score a goal for the
franchise. Messi eventually grew to 5 feet and 7 inches, and with his short stature, speed and
relentless attacking style, he drew comparisons to another famous Argentinean footballer: Diego
Maradona. Messi steered Barcelona to a wealth of success, most notably in 2009, when the left–
footer 's team captured the Champions League, La Liga, and Spanish Super Cup titles. Even the
great Maradona gushed about his fellow countryman. "I see him as very similar to me," the retired
player told the BBC. "He 's a leader and is offering lessons in beautiful football. He has something

Impact Of 2012 Olympics On Hospitality Essay
2012 Olympics and its impact on the hospitality industry of London.
Research Background / Context
On 6th July' 2005 London was selected as the host city for the 2012 summer Olympic and
Paralympics Games. The games is often labelled as the "greatest show on earth" which involves
thousands of sports persons both men and women from around the globe aiming to reach the
ultimate in sporting achievement. The Olympic Games will take place entirely in London, but the
bid team had stressed throughout their campaign that the games would benefit the whole of Britain.
The proposed research is on the impact of the hosting of the 2012 Olympics in London and its
impact specifically on the hospitality industry. Other studies have been done on ... Show more

Athens 2004 would have benefited from its investment in urban regeneration and transport
infrastructure. Before the Games Sydney 2000 was a great city to visit and now is better again after
its Olympic experience. Atlanta 1996 was located within 2 hours flying time from major US cities. It
was a major domestic convention hub before the Games with comparatively few international
visitors. But as inbound statistics reflect, Atlanta is still a major domestic convention hub with no
hard evidence of an Olympics afterglow in the inbound market.
Barcelona 1992 achieved incredible tourism–image transformation but the hotel market in the post–
Olympic era was badly over–supplied for several years. Whereas Seoul 1988 opened its inbound
tourism industry. The city added several hotels and infrastructure investment which dramatically
improved the tourism appeal and till now Seoul remains a strong hotel market. As seen here
Barcelona and Seoul were the two most successful cities in creating additional inbound traffic. But
the point to note was that both these cities had low–profile tourism at the time of hosting the games
and so they had much to gain from the hosting of the games.
When we refer to the term Hospitality we normally refer to the relationship between a guest and a
host.

dissatisfaction customer service to the organisation (Mangold and Faulds 2009) For example, if a
customer is dissatisfied with their product, that could result in a bad publicity image to the
organisation.
Referring to this study, similar research from Sharpio et al (2013) suggests that using social media
platforms to receive information about the sport teams or organisations has a positive influence on
intentions to purchase products of sponsors. For example, sponsor firms can benefit through
exposing their logo or brand name to the target audience (Cornwell et al 2005)
Gladden and Funk (2001) also mentioned that the brand attributes and benefits were strongly
apparent in the brand loyalty, since it is linked to behavioural loyalty. This also demonstrates the
behaviours of loyal spectators such as the repeat of purchasing tickets (seasonal tickets holder) and
attend the sport events frequently, which could gain a competitive advantage for the sport
organisations. (Bee & Havitz 2010)
Regarding the issue of consumer behaviour, organisations could improve their perceived quality of
their brands (Keller 2001) whilst adjusting their marketing strategies to enhance the brand image
(Simmons 2007)
From the research of consumer's segmentation behaviours, there are type of consumers who use
social media such as "entertainment seekers" and "social shoppers". (McDonald 1996) The several

Messi Persuasive Speech
In 2014, the world was captivated by the FIFA World Cup. Let?s paint a picture of that epic match.
In what was seemingly the perfect end to a perfect sports tournament, Leo Messi put his home
country of Argentina on his back and led them to the final against a perennial football juggernaut in
Germany. With the game tied 1–1 throughout the second half, Mario Gotze (Germany) put in the
go–ahead goal in extra time to take a 2–1 lead. With the game coming to its conclusion, Argentina
was awarded a free kick outside Germany?s box, but just within scoring range. To take the shot,
none other than Messi. With the undivided attention of the world, including me, on Messi?s left foot,

As Messi stood five yards off the ball with German goalkeeper (GK) Manuel Neuer staring him
down, it seemed as though this would be Messi?s crowning achievement. For just a few moments,
as Messi took his steps forward to take the shot, the world and time itself seemed to stop. He pushed
it. Just above the left side of the goal. With that, Germany drained the last few minutes off the clock,
and hoisted the beautiful World Cup trophy. For Messi, who was reaching a juncture in his career
where experts thought he might retire from international football, there was nothing but question
marks and missed opportunities. That match concluded what was a terrific World Cup. The United
States of America had shown out for their fans, Messi had made a final (with a chance to win), the
original favorite, Brazil, was eviscerated by Germany, and those Germans closed out one of the most
dominant World Cup runs in recent memory. With a plethora of stories for fans to follow, the World
Cup 2014 was a great sporting experience, regardless of how you feel about the sport itself. Now,
four years later, the eyes of the sports world will once again be on soccer when the World

There are different types of lodgings to cater to the different tourist groups. These range from youth
hostels to boutique hotels and high–end hotels, with numerous options in between as well. The most
sought after lodgings among these are the 'Paradors', which are usually hotels run by the government
and some of which are at the higher end of the spectrum when it comes down to pricing. These
'Paradors' are usually located in heritage sites or historic buildings and give visitors an authentic feel

quality amenities and facilities that they have to offer. Some of these 'Paradors' also have a
restaurant that serves regional and traditional cuisine and delicacies. There are about 90 of these
'Paradors' in Spain and together they offer a total of more than 10000 rooms. Apart from these,
Spain also offers campsites, tourist apartments for those who want to stay for a longer duration of

Philanthropy In Sports
Professional sports in which athletes receive compensation for their athletic talent and abilities, is
often only associated with the entertainment industry. One can watch a sporting event on TV or pay
to go to the arena or stadium to watch the competition live. Outside of watching and participating in
a sport, professional leagues are businesses, concerned about making a profit from their fan base. It
is seldom that one would associate a professional athletic club with philanthropy. According to
Webster's College Dictionary, the definition of philanthropy is an "altruistic concern for human
beings especially as manifested by donations of money, property, or work to needy persons or to
institutions advancing human welfare" (Webster's). In a business concerned with its bottom line,
donating money for a humanitarian cause would seem like a seldom seem practice. The Barcelona
Football Club, however, has proven throughout the years that giving back to the community is what
helps them adhere to their team motto "mes que un club" or Catalan for "more than a club".
Barcelona Football Club, located in Barcelona, Spain, according to Forbes is the eighth most
valuable sports team in the world and the third most valuable soccer team. In 2012, the team earned
about $602 million in revenues and a record $59 million in profits with player's salaries reaching
$362 million (Fontevecchia). Of that profit, 0.7% and 0.5% of player salaries is donated to their own

Company Overview: Nike
Nike incorporated, the world's leading designer and marketer of authentic athletic footwear, apparel,
equipment, and accessories for a wide variety of sports and fitness activities, was formed in Oregon
in 1968 as the successor to a partnership organized in 1964. This partnership was formed when

Nike now has a direct hand in how a product is marketed and displayed. Image is extremely
important to Nike and by producing a wholesome image throughout the world, it believe sales will
increase.
With the increase of European players in the National Basketball Association, Nike is targeting
Europeans aged twenty–two to thirty five. Nike feels its "Just Do It" campaign will be successful all
over the world. However, for success in Europe, a different strategy was developed. Europeans are
not as driven by physical excellence as are Americans. Therefore, Nike created a new image
analogous with the idea that "there is a natural marriage between intellectual and physically
pursuits."
In December 1998, Nike announced the formation of a stand alone category business unit for its line
of licensed sports products by combining its existing Organized Team Sports (OTS) operation with
Sports Specialties Corporation (SSC). The new unit will be named Nike Team Sports (NTS), and
will service the retail licensed products marketplace and establish a leadership position in the
category. According to Mark Duggan, the director of United States sales, "Relationships with Nike
retailers are a key component of nike.com"
Nike.com started early in 1999. It also partnered with UPS worldwide Logistics to provide
overnight, second–day, and ground delivery services. Nike's outsourcing of logistics services

Political Differences Between Football And Football
"Politics doesn't belong in football" is what I heard my Dad say as a Jeremy Corbyn banner was
raised in the kop. "I watch football to get away from Politics" is a comment I saw in /r/soccer and
that got me thinking, isn't football the worst place to come to get away from politics.
I want to start with my overall point. Politics and Football are intricately intertwined. Politics often
manifests itself through Football, whilst Football has also been used for political propaganda. One of
the ways this is achieved is through local and national identities becoming associated and
represented by Football clubs. This brings us to the first example of politics being intertwined with
Football with FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The club not only has become enriched with a political background, but in fact their biggest rivalry
and possibly the biggest rivalry in the world has its political roots. El Clasico is a rivalry defined by
distance, the distance between what the two clubs stand for and represent. With Madrid representing
Spanish nationalism and Barcelona representing Catalan nationalism.
During the Franco regime Catalans saw Madrid as a tool Franco would use to humiliate the city in
another domain. The example most cited in the book Barça was the 1943 Copa Del Rey. Barça held
a 3–0 lead going into the second leg, with a few controversial decisions. The home fans who would
boo the officials would be labeled in the media as 'enemies of the Spanish stat'. Rumoured in this

Racism in European Football: Global Campaigns to Eliminate...
Football as it is know outside North America (Soccer) is among the most ubiquitous and beloved
sport in the world. The worldwide audience for the FIFA World Cup typically exceeds 1 billion, and
hundreds of thousands of spectators flock to watch their countries team participate. One of the
fundamental concerns surrounding the game today revolves around the prolonged occurrence of
racism, especially racial abuse to players by fans. Omi and Winant (1994) have identified, elements
of racism with a strong correlation relating to sport, such as 'temperament, athletic ability and
sexuality.
Given its recent history of anti–racist activity, English football is often cited as a figurehead example
of challenging racism through popular culture and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia (EUMC) found that 10% of Internet
sites managed by football fans expressed 'racist, anti–Semitic and xenophobic views'. The report
revealed that Italian and Spanish sites were more prone to racism, followed by German, Swiss,
Austrian and British sites. (Balestri and Grasselli, 2002). In addition, new forms of social media,
such as Facebook and Twitter, have offered an additional stage for the racial harassment of players
from different ethnic backgrounds
With the growth of technology, and an increase of non–white players from much different ethnical
background, football is an easy target for racial slur. Futhermore, we see more racial actions inside
the grounds of football clubs. Kassimeris, 2008 agrees by saying the conclusion seems inescap– able
that football grounds provide one of the largest public arenas in which racism can be openly
expressed. Just recently Dani Alves Barcelona FC defender was taking a corner kick when he had a
banana thrown at him. He reacted to having a banana thrown by peeling it and then taking a bite.
Former Barcelona striker Gary Lineker praised Alves. "Picked it up, peeled it, ate it and proceeded
to take the corner," he tweeted. "Top response." The ex–England striker added: "Utterly brilliant
reaction from Alves. Treat the racist berk with complete disdain!" (BBC Sport, 2014.) More drastic

A Brief Look at David Beckham
There have been many soccer players that have stood out throughout their careers and have made
names for themselves. The legendary midfielder, David Beckham, happens to be one of them. David
Beckham, the undisputed best soccer midfielder in the world, is such a success due to his hard work
and dedication; the love for his family and, most importantly, his devilishly handsome looks; have
made him as influential as he is today.
David Beckham was born May 2, 1975 in a little town called Leytonstone, London. David was the
son of a prestigious hair dresser Sandra Georgina and of David Beckham, a man he really looked up
too, who was know as a kitchen fitter. As a young boy Beckham went to Chase Lane Primary School
where he was taught the basics of education and literature. His parents were fanatical Manchester
United supporters who would frequently travel to Old Trafford from London to attend the team's
home matches. David inherited his parents' love of Manchester United, and his main sporting
passion was football. In a 2007 interview, Beckham said that, "At school whenever the teachers
asked, 'What do you want to do when you're older?' I'd say, 'I want to be a footballer.' And they'd
say, 'No, what do you really want to do, for a job?' But that was the only thing I ever wanted to do."
(need to quote this) Thats exactly what he set out to prove when he joined his first soccer team at the
age of 5. He was brought up by his parents, supporters of Manchester United, attended Bobby

Gender Roles In Ecuador
Ecuadorian children become very excited to receive another opportunity to learn and support their
peers. Children in Ecuador have more freedom than those that I have grown up to know. For
example, they have permission to leave school grounds whenever and they may choose to not come
back. Occasionally, teachers will send children home or out from school grounds to find an object or
to bring their parent or sibling back with them ("Being a Kid in Ecuador"). Though parents are fully
capable, they usually send their children off to the market to bring back groceries, so that when they
are older they are able to do that on their own. Another way kids show their independence is through
visiting the nearby river to go for a swim, usually inviting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For example, the people of Ecuador view play as a group activity which inspires community which
is highly valued in the culture; however, in the Japanese culture they view play as a weakness or an
activity that distracts them from their success as an individual. The Japanese culture focuses more
on the academic accomplishments of an individual rather than the success of a team in a sport or
game. The intense focus of an individual is shown through this study of Japanese children being
photographed around their group of friends. Rather than inviting other children into their picture the
children preferred to be alone while show casing the accomplishments they had made (Izumi–
Taylor, 2016). While Ecuador differs greatly from Japan when addressing their types of children's
play, the situation is quite opposite when compared to the Ecuadorian and American views of play.
Throughout my childhood, my parents constantly encouraged us to be social and interact with our
neighbors and friends. Because of this, once we walked into the door from school we would be fed a
snack and then be sent outside to play until dark. When compared to the children's play in Ecuador,
the aspect of community is key; hence, the group games and encouragement to be outside with the
neighbors. A few differences between the Ecuadorian play and mine would be the available time
spent outside. As children are released from school in Ecuador

Football : The Most Watched Sport
RONALDO Football. The most watched sport in the world. And we're not talking about the football
with the Mannings, Deflategate, and Adrian Peterson. What's being talked about is what Europe and
most of the world call football, but America calls it soccer. Soccer was first invented in China in 300
B.C, where kids would kick leather balls by kicking it into a small net. Greeks and Romans played
soccer for fun, but it wasn't until the 18th century when people would start to play soccer as a full–
time game. Football was first introduced to the Olympics in the 1900 Summer Olympics after the
sport wasn't in the 1896 Olympics. Women's football, however, wasn't in the Olympics until 1996.
Many American kids and other players have played soccer in leagues by the time soccer was
introduced into the Olympics, but men that wanted to go pro would have to move to Europe to play
until 1993 when America's MLS began. But this article isn't about the history of soccer. This article
is about one of the biggest rivalries in sports history since the question of is Lebron James better
than Michael Jordan. The question is who's the better player: Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.
Even though they play for different teams, are in different leagues, and both want the title for best
player, they do have a lot in common. Ronaldo is only two years older than Messi, and both didn't
grow up with a lot. Both athletes started by a young age, and both made it to professional and
national teams before most

of the country and how they are seen by the other world. It assists develop the social cohesion that
binds households, neighboring areas and the country. No other feature of the culture has the ability
to combine numerous various streams of Australian life in shared happiness and event. Cathy
Freeman's 400m gain in 2000, John Aloisi's charge against Uruguay that sealed the first World Cup
certification for 32 years, or Kieren Perkins impressive gold medal gain in Atlanta are not just
excellent sporting minutes but fantastic Australian minutes (Higham, 2012). In 2004–05, the overall
earnings produced by the sport and leisure sector in Australia were approximated at $8.82 billion.
The earnings stated by sports and physical leisure clubs, groups and sports experts was $1.88 billion
and sports and physical entertainment management companies was $1.53 billion. Sport is likewise
an effective device for worldwide engagement hence there is no need to neglect the relevance of
sport in tourism, economic help and trade (Higham, 2012). Australia has actually established a
worldwide credibility for sporting quality, with the nationwide group efficiencies, the staging of
significant worldwide occasions consisting of the Olympic and Paralympics' Games, the 2003
Rugby World Cup and the Federal Government is supportive of the Football Federation's quote to

Financial Fair Play Rules
The elite Spanish and English Football clubs have enjoyed the global football explosion over the last
two decades. For example, Barcelona and Real Madrid have used revenue generated from
Champions League and the Spanish League to buy the best players in the world at very high prices
(Markus 45). This has made the teams become the centre of investment for billionaires who are keen
to have a share of the teams. It is from this perspective that the professional soccer teams end up
overspending in the name of getting hold of the best players in the world. Moreover, some teams
such as Manchester United have been reported to be overstretching their budgets by paying massive
interests to its players. This results in losses which might lead to bankruptcy and fall of the football
team. By analyzing such trends, professional clubs may end up being in unhealthy financial
positions, which throated their survival and the stability of football as a global sport (Homewood
para. 10). Based on these concerns, there is a need to regulate the spending of football clubs so as to
guarantee that there is a level ground for all top division soccer teams in Europe (Dijk 45). This
paper analyzes Financial Fair Play regulations and their effects on professional soccer clubs in
Europe as well as their prospective effects on the economy. Background According to Veysey (para.
1), the Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules came into effect as from June 1, 2011. Unanimous votes were

With normative stakeholder theory one tries to explain (in these settings) why football clubs should
take into account the interests of the stakeholders. It is easy to sympathize with the customer group
in this matter. They are the foundation stone that has built the club through the years and they have
invested money, emotions and their private time. But they are not as important as they once was for
the club. This given that another stakeholder group (Suppliers e.g. broadcasting companies, sponsors
etc.) now serves the business with monetary funding's, hence the times have changed. Ultimately
though, the suppliers will almost certainly vanish if the customers stop buying the product.
Shareholders and employees can easier than the customers in this case find another business to join,
they are not exclusive in the same way as the customers.
The descriptive stakeholder theory can also be useful to the settings in trying to state whether and
how the football clubs do listen to the stakeholder's interests. Also in this context the clubs can rely
on their loyal customer base. Even though if you treat them bad (expensive tickets, changing the
club badge and colors etc.) they will not ultimately stop buying the product. You might however as a
owner/ shareholder have a customer rebellion on your hands. Shareholders can more easily sell their
stocks if they feel neglected by the club, suppliers will search for other

He knew moving to Spain was going to add more pressure to him and this is where his rivalry with
Lionel Messi started. While in Real Madrid, he won one Spanish La Liga, one Copa del Rey, and
one Spanish Super Cup. Even though Ronaldo is tall, he has the speed to match with Messi. Since
Ronaldo is a two–footer, he can play in both sides of the wings and as a striker and on occasions,
midfield. Messi is a center–forward who also plays as a striker and can also play in the wings but
not as effective as Ronaldo. Ronaldo's style is showboating, which shows a variety of ball skills to
confuse the defender, while Messi uses his quickness to get past defenders easily for a quick goal.
Putting the speed and quickness aside, Ronaldo is more deadly during set pieces. He is known for
his quick and powerful free kicks outside the box that doesn't give goalkeepers a chance. He is also
taller than Messi so he has more threat during corner kicks because he can jump high and hit
powerful headers. There are few similarities between Ronaldo and Messi. First is they play in the
same league, Spanish La Liga. They have acquired the same awards in European football such us

Fifa Of The World Cup
You are in the World Cup. Its the biggest sporting event in the world. You are representing your
country, and the fans are cheering you. The game starts and right away you can tell it's going to be a
rough game. The referee starts calling everything against you and nothing for you. There isn't
anything you can do. You will for sure lose the game. Soccer is a very great sport but, it has FIFA
corruption, illegal transfers, and fixed matches.
FIFA corruption happens because of the desire of money. "FIFA original mission was to support the
growth and spread of soccer. They try to achieve this by hosting competitions at all levels and ages.
Fifa promotes soccer through campaigns against discrimination in the lines of race, politics, and
religion."("What is FIFA?") For the most part they have been very good at the spread and growth of
soccer. One way they helped spread soccer is letting different countries host the World Cup. After
letting Africa and America host it, soccer was growing very fast around the world. They have done
pretty good in the discrimination part because they usually ban a player or fan if they are found
discriminating against someone.
Although they do these really great things sometimes FIFA will go against their mission and be
corrupt. For example, "In May the US indicted 14 current and former Fifa officials and associates on
charges of "rampant, systemic, and deep–rooted" corruption. Another of fifa being corrupt is on

whether it is knitting, reading a book, surfing, running, shopping, painting and so forth. There are so
many different types of activities that one can do. These hobbies are usually done on a casual basis;

Now when we talk about futbol there are so many different levels and divisions, the main level I
plan to focus on is La Liga, which is the highest division in Spanish futbol. The one that follows is
La Segunda Division¸but peoples main focus is La Primera Division because the best of the best
play in this division. As well this is where most of the fuel to the fire is, especially with the rivalry
between Real Madrid and Barcelona. The game becomes much more intense when these two teams
are even mentioned.
In order to grasp a full understanding of the phenomenon with Spanish futbol and La Liga we need
to have some back ground knowledge of how it came to be. A man by the name of Jose Maria Acha
first proposed the idea of Spain having a national futbol team. After much debate of how many
teams there were going to be in La Liga, they came to the agreement that there would be ten, and in
1929 the Primera Division was established. La Primera Liga is like royalty in futbol, they are the
best of the best futbolistas, and not anyone can be a part of this division. The success of La Liga is
all due to the biggest rivals in soccer history, Real Madrid and F.C. Barcelona who are basically the
biggest and most successful teams in La Primera Division. Both these teams were founding
members and have never been de ranked to Segunda Division. Due to the fact that these teams have
been at war for over eighty years shows us that the spirit of futbol has been

The Olympic Games Or A Party
The Olympic Games or a Party The Olympics are a special spectacle for everyone, and for sixteen
days every two years we are witness to the best athletes in the world. Only for the rare few the
dream to compete are a reality, but for the billions of other people, this is an event of pride and
passion for their home country. The continuous cycle of new cities and different countries hosting
the games brings out great nationalism. The challenge to get a bid to host the Olympics has always
been difficult but as the cost of the games rises the number of cities vying for it is decreasing. The
Olympics are the biggest sporting event in the world, and they are one of the most well known
events across the world. Being host to an event like this brings great revenue into a country 's
economy through tourism and the need for jobs and construction. But the Olympics are becoming
very costly and countries are beginning to wonder if its worth it to host the "party" when they know
they will not earn all the money back. The Olympics ruin economies and the games tend to hurt
countries more than help them. The games are played every two years alternating between the
summer and winter Olympics. It roughly plays host to about 90 countries all vying for one goal, the
gold. The Olympics originated in ancient Greece with the first ever recorded games occurring in 776

Ethics Of Performance Enhancing Drugs
A scandal broke in 2013 over the Cronulla Sharks concerning the administration of performance
enhancing drugs to players during 2011–2012. Some of the ethical and corporate government issues
associated with the clubs actions will be explored in the following case study.
Question 1: Scandals in Australian sporting clubs
Failures in corporate governance
The five fundamental ethical principles of the Australian Accounting Profession as listed in APES
110 Code of Ethics of the Australian Accounting Profession are integrity, objectivity, and
professional competence and due care, confidentiality and professional behaviour.
Integrity implies that actions are to be "straightforward and honest in all professional and business
relationships" ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to APES 110, "to maintain professional knowledge and skill at the level required to
ensure that a client or employer receives competent Professional Services based on current
developments in practice, legislation and techniques and act diligently and in accordance with
applicable technical and professional standards" is the definition of professional competence and
due care. Management did not exercise adequate due care for their players when faced with these
conditions. The informal nature of Dr Stephen Dank's employment intensified this negligence as he
was passed the duty of care of these players although he did not hold accountable to the club.
Therefore those who involved Dr Stephen Dank bypassed the Human Resources procedures
showing complete disregarded of the due care principle.
Finally, APES 110 states, professional behaviour is "to comply with relevant laws and regulations
and avoid any action that discredits the profession." This principle has clearly been violated through
the action occurring in 2011–2012. To advance a substance that pushes the boundaries of legality
discredits not only the Cronulla Sharks and the NRL league but put the whole athletic realm into
question as they concurred that to be a natural athlete was no longer good enough.
Preventative corporate governance mechanisms
As clearly outlined in the above review the Cronulla Sharks failed in a number of corporate
governance practices. These failures ranged malpractice

way to stay healthy and enjoy life. Although many exercises and sports have been invented since,

The Causes Of Early Basketball Dynasties In The United States
14.
Early Basketball Dynasties Several teams in both college and the professional level formed early
dynasties. Some say that this contributed to the unpopularity of the game during their reigns because
the outcomes were too predictable. In the NBA, the Minnesota Lakers had a dynasty going; led by
Mikan, they won championships in 5 of 6 seasons from 1949 to 1954. Even as the league changed
its rules, and as Mikan's scoring dipped, the Lakers rolled. However, the game itself was becoming
harder to watch. The Boston Celtics would continue where Minnesota left off. It started in 1957,
when the Boston Celtics defeated the St. Louis Hawks in a tough best of seven game series. That
was the first of an incredible 11 championships in 13 seasons.
Some say that the Celtics Destiny is the most incredible in history but the UCLA Bruins college
basketball team might have something to say about that. For 12 seasons, beginning with the 1963–
1964 season, Coach John Wooden and the Bruins won a record 10 NCAA titles; including seven in a
row. The only years they did not win were 1965–66 season where they had a bad run of injuries and
illnesses. Texas Western won that year and we'll discuss that importance later. The other year was
the 1973–1974 season. Coach Wooden was ill a good portion of that year and would retire the next
year. This was an amazing run and in my opinion solidified what is the greatest dynasty in the
history of sports. I say this because in college basketball you have

Marketing Analysis : Marketing Mix Essay
The definition of 'marketing' is widely debated among numerous professionals within the industry,
The Chartered Institute of Marketing defines the concept as 'the management process responsible for
anticipating and satisfying customer requirements profitably' whereas Kotler and Armstrong define
marketing more simply as 'managing profitable customer relationships'. Fullerton and Mers go into
more depth and consider how the idea of marketing is presented when in the context of the sporting
industry, they believe 'sports marketing consists of all activities designed to meet the needs and
wants of sports consumers through exchange processes'.
There are various formats of the marketing mix in circulation, it is essentially a set of considerations
taken into account by business orientated organisations, including professional sports clubs, so that
they can operate at optimum efficiency whilst attempting to achieve their particular market
objective(s). The extended version of the marketing mix consists of; Product, Place, Price,
Promotion, People, Process and Physical Evidence. It is called the Marketing Mix because each
element will be used in different combinations depending upon the needs and characteristics of a
particular market. External economic influences, changes in consumer behaviour and emerging
technologies will cause the mix to be adapted in response to change.
The 'Product' aspect refers to the actual good presented to the consumer, whether that be tangible or

It was not until the end of the 18th century, that the position of Barcelona as a major Mediterranean

important to Spain because Barcelona become a hub for Spain's industrialization as well as the

A man whom was born on Aug. 21st, 1986 from Jennifer and Wellesley Bolt named Usain Bolt. As a
kid he spent his time playing cricket and football with his brother. He didn't start his career of track

Roman Abramovich In The Great Gatsby
Roman Abramovich is football's Gatsby, chasing the ever–receding green light
"Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded
us then, but that's no matter–tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther. And then one
fine morning– So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past." – Nick
Carraway (The Great Gatsby, 1925)
A filthy rich recluse whose personal life is shrouded in secrecy, and whose enormous wealth has
been amassed in morally – if not legally – dubious means? A thing for yachts and lavish parties that

character Jay Gatsby when he wrote his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In other words, Emenalo is the only member of the hierarchy with a genuine football background.
Perhaps one of Abramovich's flaws is that he has always seemed to place too much trust in those
close to him, and given the unctuous yes–men that surround billionaires such as him, one wonders if
the advice he gets is not just a rehashed version of his own opinions and thoughts about the football
operations at the club.
With issues as deep–rooted as this, the notion that Chelsea can lure Pep Guardiola in the summer
with a blank cheque is risible. The Spaniard would take one look at the first–choice back five
(Courtois included) and their patent inability to play out from the back, and sprint in the opposite
direction. It is a sad indictment of the mismanagement higher up at Chelsea that the club that could
once lure the best managers and players in the world now seem miles away from being able to do

Sports Marketing Essay

  • 1. Sports Marketing Essay The price that we pay is the value that we associate to any product, whether it is a good or service. It is the compensation given to a person or authority to purchase an object or service. The greater the value associated to the product, the greater the price. The pricing process is dependent upon factors which can be categorized as internal and external factors. The internal factors include the factors that are within the control of the organization or the producer, whereas the external factors are influenced by the market or factors which are beyond the control of the producer. Internal Factors The internal factors are inclusive of the marketing mix of the organization and the organizational goals. The product itself is a huge ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The greater the demand of a product, the greater the associated value, and hence greater will be price. Price is also dependent upon the supply of a product, the lower the supply, the higher the price. The price of a product is also dependent upon the state of the overall economic conditions. At the time of the recent recession, the ticket prices of matches and merchandise were set at a comparatively lower level than at the time of a boom. (Kotler) Pricing Strategies Moving on towards the various pricing strategies, the first pricing strategy is the differential pricing. This is to charge different prices to different target markets, which is usually not considered illegal in the case of services. The prices charged differ according to the types of customers being served for example children and disabled people usually get a discount on ticket prices. The second pricing strategy is the penetration pricing where the product enters newly into the market. To gain some consumer base from the competitors, the seller initially charges a lower price than the competitors. For example the ticket prices initially charged for IPL, Indian Premier League, matches were lower than the ticket price of the competition ICL matches. On the contrary, price skimming strategy is to grab the financially top class of the market and to do this, the seller charges high prices. The effectiveness of this strategy is based upon ... When you think of globalization in terms of sports, the best example is soccer. Soccer is something that started in 1863 as a simple game played in England by people of humble beginnings and not long after that turned into a worldwide phenomenon (Parrish). Soccer has over 3.5 billion fans worldwide. When you really think about that number you realize how big of a deal that is. That's about 50% of the world's population. Meaning that 1 in every 2 people watch, play, and generally enjoy soccer. The globalization aspect of it comes in when you know that its regional popularity is in Europe, Africa, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Branko Milanovic of Yale Global Online: Soccer is the most globalized sport. Owners of any sporting team demand and pay for top talent from anywhere in the world. Before 1995, soccer rules in Europe limited the number of foreign players to a handful per club. A Belgian player successfully protested that the rules violated European laws on labor mobility and discrimination. Since then, the doors have opened wide and skills in the game have improved, though talent is increasingly concentrated among the wealthiest teams and nations. (Milanovic) The fact that they took it as far as bringing up labor laws and discrimination so as to demand to play in a different country's team shows these players' passion for playing with a strong team, and their passion for the game. Although players play for football clubs throughout the years, when the World Cup roles around most players return to their country of origin as a way to still represent their national pride. Over the years, soccer has seen more and more globalization. During my research I came across a couple of charts that explain it all very clearly. There are flags of national teams on the top of the chart and flags of football clubs on the bottom of the chart with lines drawn that connect the two. The lines represent what football club a country's players play when they don't play for their national team. These lines are connecting all kinds of combinations of players ... Formerly known as the European Champions Clubs' Cup (European Cup) the UCL was the result of a measured overhaul of European football, in response to advances in technology, namely satellite television. The challenge the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) faced was how best to oversee this transitional phase whilst maintaining the crucial brand equity attached to the 'European Cup' brand name. The report will discuss the affiliation between UEFA and marketing specialists Television Event and Media Marketing (TEAM). The writer will show that this association was fundamental to the emergence of the UCL and discuss the strategies developed by TEAM to ensure the competition was seen as a credible and visible brand. The writer will provide evidence to suggest that the shrewd branding of the UCL and the cognisant approach taken towards the competitions life cycle have been major influences in this meteoric rise. 2. Background Information It has been suggested that the UCL is a product of societal evolution. After forty years without change the European Cup had become commercially obsolete to broadcasters and sponsors due to the lack of guaranteed matches involving Europe's biggest clubs (Ahlstrom, 2002). The knockout format allowed for clubs who would bring in large sums of revenue to be eliminated after merely

Before the Games Sydney 2000 was a great city to visit and now is better again after its Olympic experience. Atlanta 1996 was located within 2 hours flying time from major US cities. It was a major domestic convention hub before the Games with comparatively few international visitors. But as inbound statistics reflect, Atlanta is still a major domestic convention hub with no hard evidence of an Olympics afterglow in the inbound market. Barcelona 1992 achieved incredible tourism–image transformation but the hotel market in the post– Olympic era was badly over–supplied for several years. Whereas Seoul 1988 opened its inbound tourism industry. The city added several hotels and infrastructure investment which dramatically improved the tourism appeal and till now Seoul remains a strong hotel market. As seen here Barcelona and Seoul were the two most successful cities in creating additional inbound traffic. But the point to note was that both these cities had low–profile tourism at the time of hosting the games and so they had much to gain from the hosting of the games. Referring to this study, similar research from Sharpio et al (2013) suggests that using social media platforms to receive information about the sport teams or organisations has a positive influence on intentions to purchase products of sponsors. For example, sponsor firms can benefit through exposing their logo or brand name to the target audience (Cornwell et al 2005) Gladden and Funk (2001) also mentioned that the brand attributes and benefits were strongly apparent in the brand loyalty, since it is linked to behavioural loyalty. This also demonstrates the behaviours of loyal spectators such as the repeat of purchasing tickets (seasonal tickets holder) and attend the sport events frequently, which could gain a competitive advantage for the sport organisations. (Bee & Havitz 2010) Regarding the issue of consumer behaviour, organisations could improve their perceived quality of their brands (Keller 2001) whilst adjusting their marketing strategies to enhance the brand image (Simmons 2007) From the research of consumer's segmentation behaviours, there are type of consumers who use social media such as "entertainment seekers" and "social shoppers". In what was seemingly the perfect end to a perfect sports tournament, Leo Messi put his home country of Argentina on his back and led them to the final against a perennial football juggernaut in Germany. With the game tied 1–1 throughout the second half, Mario Gotze (Germany) put in the go–ahead goal in extra time to take a 2–1 lead. With the game coming to its conclusion, Argentina was awarded a free kick outside Germany?s box, but just within scoring range. To take the shot, none other than Messi. With that, Germany drained the last few minutes off the clock, and hoisted the beautiful World Cup trophy. For Messi, who was reaching a juncture in his career where experts thought he might retire from international football, there was nothing but question marks and missed opportunities. That match concluded what was a terrific World Cup. The United States of America had shown out for their fans, Messi had made a final (with a chance to win), the original favorite, Brazil, was eviscerated by Germany, and those Germans closed out one of the most dominant World Cup runs in recent memory. One can watch a sporting event on TV or pay to go to the arena or stadium to watch the competition live. Outside of watching and participating in a sport, professional leagues are businesses, concerned about making a profit from their fan base. It is seldom that one would associate a professional athletic club with philanthropy. According to Webster's College Dictionary, the definition of philanthropy is an "altruistic concern for human beings especially as manifested by donations of money, property, or work to needy persons or to institutions advancing human welfare" (Webster's). In a business concerned with its bottom line, donating money for a humanitarian cause would seem like a seldom seem practice. "I watch football to get away from Politics" is a comment I saw in /r/soccer and that got me thinking, isn't football the worst place to come to get away from politics. I want to start with my overall point. Politics and Football are intricately intertwined. Politics often manifests itself through Football, whilst Football has also been used for political propaganda. One of the ways this is achieved is through local and national identities becoming associated and represented by Football clubs. This brings us to the first example of politics being intertwined with Football with FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. The club not only has become enriched with a political background, but in fact their biggest rivalry and possibly the biggest rivalry in the world has its political roots. El Clasico is a rivalry defined by distance, the distance between what the two clubs stand for and represent. With Madrid representing Spanish nationalism and Barcelona representing Catalan nationalism. During the Franco regime Catalans saw Madrid as a tool Franco would use to humiliate the city in another domain. The example most cited in the book Barça was the 1943 Copa Del Rey. Barça held a 3–0 lead going into the second leg, with a few controversial decisions. The home fans who would boo the officials would be labeled in the media as 'enemies of the Spanish stat'. The worldwide audience for the FIFA World Cup typically exceeds 1 billion, and hundreds of thousands of spectators flock to watch their countries team participate. One of the fundamental concerns surrounding the game today revolves around the prolonged occurrence of racism, especially racial abuse to players by fans. Omi and Winant (1994) have identified, elements of racism with a strong correlation relating to sport, such as 'temperament, athletic ability and sexuality. In addition, new forms of social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, have offered an additional stage for the racial harassment of players from different ethnic backgrounds With the growth of technology, and an increase of non–white players from much different ethnical background, football is an easy target for racial slur. Futhermore, we see more racial actions inside the grounds of football clubs. The legendary midfielder, David Beckham, happens to be one of them. David Beckham, the undisputed best soccer midfielder in the world, is such a success due to his hard work and dedication; the love for his family and, most importantly, his devilishly handsome looks; have made him as influential as he is today. David Beckham was born May 2, 1975 in a little town called Leytonstone, London. David was the son of a prestigious hair dresser Sandra Georgina and of David Beckham, a man he really looked up too, who was know as a kitchen fitter. As a young boy Beckham went to Chase Lane Primary School where he was taught the basics of education and literature. His parents were fanatical Manchester United supporters who would frequently travel to Old Trafford from London to attend the team's home matches. David inherited his parents' love of Manchester United, and his main sporting passion was football. In a 2007 interview, Beckham said that, "At school whenever the teachers asked, 'What do you want to do when you're older?' I'd say, 'I want to be a footballer.' And they'd say, 'No, what do you really want to do, for a job?' But that was the only thing I ever wanted to do." (need to quote this) Thats exactly what he set out to prove when he joined his first soccer team at the age of 5. He was brought up by his parents, supporters of Manchester United, attended Bobby ... Children in Ecuador have more freedom than those that I have grown up to know. For example, they have permission to leave school grounds whenever and they may choose to not come back. Occasionally, teachers will send children home or out from school grounds to find an object or to bring their parent or sibling back with them ("Being a Kid in Ecuador"). The intense focus of an individual is shown through this study of Japanese children being photographed around their group of friends. Rather than inviting other children into their picture the children preferred to be alone while show casing the accomplishments they had made (Izumi– Taylor, 2016). While Ecuador differs greatly from Japan when addressing their types of children's play, the situation is quite opposite when compared to the Ecuadorian and American views of play. Throughout my childhood, my parents constantly encouraged us to be social and interact with our neighbors and friends. Because of this, once we walked into the door from school we would be fed a snack and then be sent outside to play until dark. What's being talked about is what Europe and most of the world call football, but America calls it soccer. Soccer was first invented in China in 300 B.C, where kids would kick leather balls by kicking it into a small net. Greeks and Romans played soccer for fun, but it wasn't until the 18th century when people would start to play soccer as a full– time game. Football was first introduced to the Olympics in the 1900 Summer Olympics after the sport wasn't in the 1896 Olympics. Women's football, however, wasn't in the Olympics until 1996. Many American kids and other players have played soccer in leagues by the time soccer was introduced into the Olympics, but men that wanted to go pro would have to move to Europe to play until 1993 when America's MLS began. But this article isn't about the history of soccer. This article is about one of the biggest rivalries in sports history since the question of is Lebron James better than Michael Jordan. The question is who's the better player: Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi. Even though they play for different teams, are in different leagues, and both want the title for best player, they do have a lot in common. • 77. Financial Fair Play Rules The elite Spanish and English Football clubs have enjoyed the global football explosion over the last two decades. For example, Barcelona and Real Madrid have used revenue generated from Champions League and the Spanish League to buy the best players in the world at very high prices (Markus 45). This has made the teams become the centre of investment for billionaires who are keen to have a share of the teams. It is from this perspective that the professional soccer teams end up overspending in the name of getting hold of the best players in the world. Moreover, some teams such as Manchester United have been reported to be overstretching their budgets by paying massive interests to its players. This results in losses which might lead to bankruptcy and fall of the football team. By analyzing such trends, professional clubs may end up being in unhealthy financial positions, which throated their survival and the stability of football as a global sport (Homewood para. 10). Based on these concerns, there is a need to regulate the spending of football clubs so as to guarantee that there is a level ground for all top division soccer teams in Europe (Dijk 45). Since Ronaldo is a two–footer, he can play in both sides of the wings and as a striker and on occasions, midfield. Messi is a center–forward who also plays as a striker and can also play in the wings but not as effective as Ronaldo. Ronaldo's style is showboating, which shows a variety of ball skills to confuse the defender, while Messi uses his quickness to get past defenders easily for a quick goal. Putting the speed and quickness aside, Ronaldo is more deadly during set pieces. He is known for his quick and powerful free kicks outside the box that doesn't give goalkeepers a chance. He is also taller than Messi so he has more threat during corner kicks because he can jump high and hit powerful headers. There are few similarities between Ronaldo and Messi. First is they play in the same league, Spanish La Liga. They have acquired the same awards in European football such us the Ballon d'Or (European Player of The Year before merging to FIFA Ballon d'Or), European Golden Shoe, UEFA Club Footballer of the Year, Spanish La Liga's Top Scorer, and is now competing for the 2013 FIFA Ballon d'Or. • 94. Fifa Of The World Cup You are in the World Cup. Its the biggest sporting event in the world. You are representing your country, and the fans are cheering you. The game starts and right away you can tell it's going to be a rough game. The referee starts calling everything against you and nothing for you. There isn't anything you can do. You will for sure lose the game. Soccer is a very great sport but, it has FIFA corruption, illegal transfers, and fixed matches. FIFA corruption happens because of the desire of money. "FIFA original mission was to support the growth and spread of soccer. They try to achieve this by hosting competitions at all levels and ages. Fifa promotes soccer through campaigns against discrimination in the lines of race, politics, and religion."("What is FIFA?") For the most part they have been very good at the spread and growth of soccer. One way they helped spread soccer is letting different countries host the World Cup. After letting Africa and America host it, soccer was growing very fast around the world. They have done pretty good in the discrimination part because they usually ban a player or fan if they are found discriminating against someone. Although they do these really great things sometimes FIFA will go against their mission and be corrupt. For example, "In May the US indicted 14 current and former Fifa officials and associates on charges of "rampant, systemic, and deep–rooted" corruption. Another of fifa being corrupt is on December, 16 officials were charged ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Now when we talk about futbol there are so many different levels and divisions, the main level I plan to focus on is La Liga, which is the highest division in Spanish futbol. The one that follows is La Segunda Division¸but peoples main focus is La Primera Division because the best of the best play in this division. As well this is where most of the fuel to the fire is, especially with the rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona. The game becomes much more intense when these two teams are even mentioned. In order to grasp a full understanding of the phenomenon with Spanish futbol and La Liga we need to have some back ground knowledge of how it came to be. A man by the name of Jose Maria Acha first proposed the idea of Spain having a national futbol team. After much debate of how many teams there were going to be in La Liga, they came to the agreement that there would be ten, and in 1929 the Primera Division was established. La Primera Liga is like royalty in futbol, they are the best of the best futbolistas, and not anyone can be a part of this division. The success of La Liga is all due to the biggest rivals in soccer history, Real Madrid and F.C. Barcelona who are basically the biggest and most successful teams in La Primera Division. Both these teams were founding members and have never been de ranked to Segunda Division. Some of the ethical and corporate government issues associated with the clubs actions will be explored in the following case study. Question 1: Scandals in Australian sporting clubs Failures in corporate governance The five fundamental ethical principles of the Australian Accounting Profession as listed in APES 110 Code of Ethics of the Australian Accounting Profession are integrity, objectivity, and professional competence and due care, confidentiality and professional behaviour. Integrity implies that actions are to be "straightforward and honest in all professional and business relationships" ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to APES 110, "to maintain professional knowledge and skill at the level required to ensure that a client or employer receives competent Professional Services based on current developments in practice, legislation and techniques and act diligently and in accordance with applicable technical and professional standards" is the definition of professional competence and due care. Management did not exercise adequate due care for their players when faced with these conditions. The informal nature of Dr Stephen Dank's employment intensified this negligence as he was passed the duty of care of these players although he did not hold accountable to the club. Therefore those who involved Dr Stephen Dank bypassed the Human Resources procedures showing complete disregarded of the due care principle. Finally, APES 110 states, professional behaviour is "to comply with relevant laws and regulations and avoid any action that discredits the profession." This principle has clearly been violated through the action occurring in 2011–2012. To advance a substance that pushes the boundaries of legality discredits not only the Cronulla Sharks and the NRL league but put the whole athletic realm into question as they concurred that to be a natural athlete was no longer good enough. • 126. The Causes Of Early Basketball Dynasties In The United States 14. Early Basketball Dynasties Several teams in both college and the professional level formed early dynasties. Some say that this contributed to the unpopularity of the game during their reigns because the outcomes were too predictable. In the NBA, the Minnesota Lakers had a dynasty going; led by Mikan, they won championships in 5 of 6 seasons from 1949 to 1954. Even as the league changed its rules, and as Mikan's scoring dipped, the Lakers rolled. However, the game itself was becoming harder to watch. The Boston Celtics would continue where Minnesota left off. It started in 1957, when the Boston Celtics defeated the St. Louis Hawks in a tough best of seven game series. That was the first of an incredible 11 championships in 13 seasons. Some say that the Celtics Destiny is the most incredible in history but the UCLA Bruins college basketball team might have something to say about that. For 12 seasons, beginning with the 1963– 1964 season, Coach John Wooden and the Bruins won a record 10 NCAA titles; including seven in a row. The only years they did not win were 1965–66 season where they had a bad run of injuries and illnesses. Texas Western won that year and we'll discuss that importance later. The other year was the 1973–1974 season. Coach Wooden was ill a good portion of that year and would retire the next year. This was an amazing run and in my opinion solidified what is the greatest dynasty in the history of sports. I say this because in college basketball you have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Marketing Analysis : Marketing Mix Essay The definition of 'marketing' is widely debated among numerous professionals within the industry, The Chartered Institute of Marketing defines the concept as 'the management process responsible for anticipating and satisfying customer requirements profitably' whereas Kotler and Armstrong define marketing more simply as 'managing profitable customer relationships'. Fullerton and Mers go into more depth and consider how the idea of marketing is presented when in the context of the sporting industry, they believe 'sports marketing consists of all activities designed to meet the needs and wants of sports consumers through exchange processes'. There are various formats of the marketing mix in circulation, it is essentially a set of considerations taken into account by business orientated organisations, including professional sports clubs, so that they can operate at optimum efficiency whilst attempting to achieve their particular market objective(s). The extended version of the marketing mix consists of; Product, Place, Price, Promotion, People, Process and Physical Evidence. It is called the Marketing Mix because each element will be used in different combinations depending upon the needs and characteristics of a particular market. External economic influences, changes in consumer behaviour and emerging technologies will cause the mix to be adapted in response to change.
