I remember waking up from my nap. Airplane was jolting because of the turbulence. My head was

speech. He told us we were 10–15 minutes away from landing in New York JFK Airport. I checked my
watch. It was still in my country's timezone. I asked the person that sat next to me for the time. He

My Journey Of Reflection During Project 1
Upon my journey of reflection during project 1, I have realized that I value education. It's a way of not
only gaining knowledge but sharing it with others. This caused me to gain interest in finding
organizations for project 2 that relates to the idea of sharing knowledge and experiences. OU Cousin's
is an organization held on campus. Their purpose is to match international students with one American
student who shares the same interest, major, and hobbies. They encourage and promote the involvement

I am a volleyball player who was denied eligibility to play varsity volleyball at Thomas County Central

that we were is shy is nothing, but being shy with them doesn't means that I didn't talk to them because
we talked a lot that day, we had so much to talk about: being shy with them means that we didn't know
each other at the time and is always kind of weird thinking that they are sharing my same emotions at
my same time. We saw each other again during a Rotary weekend in Lameroo in October (just my
district 9520), and then again in Calperum in November (but with the other district 9500 too), and then
all together again in Port Lincoln

Personal Narrative: Brena's Life
Brena came into my family's life three years ago, and still has not left our hearts. Since I had always
wanted a sister, I was ecstatic to finally see the tiny Brazilian, but I had no idea the impact she would
leave. Even though we were only together for a year, we will be sisters forever. Hosting foreign
exchange students can sometimes be difficult, but their cultural experiences, language, and adventurous
personalities make the experience worth it. Through Brena, my small town got to experience a part of
South America.
Being from the populous city of Sao Paulo, Brazil, home to 19 million people, Brena must have thought

"Brena, do you want to go water skiing?" "Yes!" "Tubing?" "Yes!" She said yes to anything we asked
her. It was only later Brena admitted that she had no idea what we were saying, and could barely move
her sore arms the first few weeks from all the activity. However, that was not her only adventurous trait,
Brena also shares my family's love of travel. An experience for her was the cold weather, and we took
full opportunity to expose her to winter activities. Never having seen snow before, she was excited to
try out all winter sports. In Colorado, we took family snowboarding lessons and while my Michigan
family decided to stick to skis, Brena was a natural. On the opposite end of temperature, Brena and I
were allowed to accompany our school's marching band on their annual trip to Disney World, even
though neither of us were in marching band. While the rest of our group was sweltering in the heat of
Florida, we were waiting in line to see every single princess. Brena thought that the magical characters
were the ACTUAL princesses. I would never tell her otherwise, so we patiently waited in, what seemed
like, every long line in the park. Thanks to the foreign exchange student program, I got to travel the
country with my best friend, an opportunity I never would have had otherwise. It was amazing to watch
Brena experience both the rural and city life of America. When we traveled to New York City, she was
in love. The sights and sounds reminded her of home. She even took us to a Brazilian steakhouse where
we were able to try her favorite home food, rice and beans. Although Brena adored America, she
