1. Current Events
This year in Social Studies we are studying Canadian history, attempting to
understand what it means to be Canadian. Part of understanding what it means to
be Canadian is understanding how we fit into the global picture. In order to see
how we fit into the global picture, we must know what is going on in the world.
To do this, we will be spending time every class talking about current events.
Each student will be responsible for bringing in a current event on their scheduled
day each month, so that we can discuss the event as a class and begin to put
together a picture of our world. This is not a group assignment. This is an
individual assignment. Each student is responsible for bringing in their own
current event on their scheduled day.
