1. Leaving On A Jet Plane
Your parents have decided that they’re sick of the Great White North. Waking up in the
dark? Not OK. That snowpocalypse in September last year? Definitely not OK. They want to
spend Christmas in the hot sun. They want to be in a place where it’s daylight for more than 7
hours in a row. In fact, they might even stay there. The question is: where is there?
Your brother wants to go to Cambodia, and spend 2 weeks living like a Buddhist monk at
Angkor Wat. Your sister’s gotten way too invested in Gilmore Girls and wants to spend 2 weeks
in Massachusetts exploring “Stars Hollow”. (She hasn’t quite grasped the point of a warm
holiday. Or that the Gilmores are fictional)
In order to save your vacation (and your sanity) you need to come up with a presentation
to convince your parents that your vacation destination is the best plan. (Therefore this
assignment will be completed in English, not in Spanish).
Where Will You Be Going?
Since you’re attempting to learn Spanish in school, you might as well put all of that hard
work to good use. So the country will have to have Spanish as an official language… but that’s
really your only restriction.
Where Will You Be Staying?
What city will you be staying in? Are you going to rent a hotel room? Make friends and
couch surf? Air BnB? Camping? Rent an apartment? Cardboard box?
What’s The Itinerary?
If you’re going to spend 2-3 weeks travelling abroad, you need to have some sort of
itinerary (or schedule) of what you’re going to do. For each event that you plan, you need to
provide a description for your parents.
