My palace was in Paris France and I’m the princess. I first saw my love writing his novel horse along the glistening lake one morning. He was tall and muscular with beautiful eyes. I decided that I needed to summon the courage and talk to him and a few days later I did.
“Ow!” I yelped.
“Are you all right?” He asked in a gentle voice. I couldn’t help but blush.
“Yeah, I just tripped over that rock,” I said trying to find the words. I was taking a walk when I fell in and out of nowhere he came and helped me up. He was the same guy that I saw a few days ago for my room. He asked me if I wanted to get some copy with him. Of course I agreed.
“I’m Matt,” he told me.
“I’m Gabriella,” I said any hopefully mysterious yet inviting voice. After about half an hour he had to go. I said goodbye. I went home to tell my diary everything as if it was a real person. The next day, I decided to call him.
“Hey, it’s me, Gabby,” I texted.
“Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date with me?” He replied I screamed and almost fell off my bed.
“Yes!!” I replied almost too eagerly.
“Great. I’ll pick you up at seven tomorrow,” he told me.
The next night Matt showed up to my house on exactly 7. My father, King Richard, answer the door with a masculine “hello.” Matt seemed frightened by my dad but he still came in.
“You’ll have your date here tonight, with me,” he said harshly. Matt kindly agreed. Let’s just say that my father doesn’t know if you should approve of Matt or not because he was not a prince or heir to the throne, and he also doesn’t have a great education.
After dinner, Matt left my father told me that he didn’t want to see him anymore.
“What!! I’m still going to see Matt. I don’t care what you say about it!” I yelled before running up to my room. I began to cry. I wrote to my diary for hours about this night and how much I resented my father for being so selfish. I texted Matt and told him that my father wouldn’t allow us to be together because he was not Royal. He told me that he was going to do everything he could in order for us to be together.
The next few days Matt tried desperately to win my father’s approval. Matt began avoiding me and I became worried. I thought that he had given up on me. I spent the next few days and a solemn depression period I was shocked when one day he called me.
“I’m on my way to the kingdom of cantaloupe. I’m going to win your father’s approval if it kills me. I wonder battle the Prince for the throne and the whole kingdom,” he said and then hung up.
I became extremely worried. What if he died? What if he lost? What if he gets lost? These were the thoughts occupy my mind.
It was about six months since I’ve heard from Matt and to be honest I didn’t think he was ever going to come back. I focused on my schoolwork and my princess lessons. I learned to paint and weave baskets. I tried anything that would occupy my free time. I blamed my father for mats leaving. We haven’t spoken much.
I was walking down to the lake when I sought. There was about a dozen horses and at the center was… Matt!! I ran to him. We hugged and right there he kissed me! I could tell that he had won the battle. We walked hand in hand up to my palace. He bragged to my father and a respectful way about his victory. My father finally allowed us to be together. I spent every day with him for a long time. After a few years of dating, he proposed to me period we were on the Eiffel tower looking over Paris, when he got down on one knee, with the same sweet voice he used me first met he said “will you marry me?”
We’ve been together for 25 years and I always seem to remember that courageous battle for our love. Whenever I look at him, I still notice those beautiful blue eyes period we live in the kingdom of cantaloupe and have two little girls named Penelope and Juliet.
