Solution : ________________________ East Asian Night The world is very varied, but due to geographical areas and divisions, differences between people could exist to distinguish one country from another, and one culture from the other. Going to the East Asian Night, October 24th, 2014 at IUP, taught me a lot about cultures and traditions of Asian countries. I learned about Japan, China, Taiwan, and South Korea. This paper will be a reflection on what I saw on the East Asian Night. There are two main differences that were presented on the East Asian Night between Japan, China, Taiwan, and South Korea. The first is the way people dress. There were many colorful dresses and costumes that the people were wearing. For me, the Japanese dresses wear the best looking; they dresses were modest yet very beautiful and colorful. The second main difference that was deliciously exhibited was the food. Every one of those countries presented one of their main dishes. China showed the Dumplings. Taiwan was depicted in the Taiwanese Soup. While Korea had the biggest food table and the most varied, the Korean students presented the Kimchi, Gimbap, Korean beef, and Rice Noodles. In conclusion, many other cultural representation were presented on this night other that food and clothing. For example, lots of games were staged like the Chinese Chess which is greatly different than the western or the Arabian Chess. Also, music and musical instrument like the Korean Drum were displayed in front of the audience. Lastly, what one thing that fascinated me was traditional Yo-Yo; this reminded me of my childhood and how the Yo-yo was my favorite toy. 1 MTH 107 Quiz 12 (Not to Turn-in) Name:____________________ Instructions: Write your answers in the space provided.
