Tufail Chemical Industries Ltd. in the form of a SWOT
analysis
Tufail Chemical Industries Limited is among the largest
prominent manufacturer of industrial chemicals in
Pakistan and is involved in fulfilling the needs of
diversified industrial chemicals, with quality and
responsibility. Established in 1953.
 Change management strategy
which can be defined as any shift, realignment or
necessary change in business operations. The aim is to
make changes to processes, people or systems
(technology) to better align the company with its
business strategy and vision.
 Data mismanaged
 Social existence (Facebook, LinkedIn etc.)
 Lack of long term facilities
insurance (medical & life), gratuity
 Production capacity not fully utilized
 Mismanagement of resources (man, material)
 No defined workflows for operations
 Lacks Grading Mechanism
 No better reward policy
 Lacks leadership
 No performance management of employees
 Lacks in advancement (technology)
 No good payment system in place
 Wastage of material
 The company was facing global competition
 Wastage in production
 Proper communication with employees what is required
and expected from them
 Knowledge of competitors and strategies to cope with them
 Research and development initiatives
 Highly committed talent missing
 Carrying deadwood like in practices, structures,
technologies, and cultural habits that holds the company
back.

Analyzing the Business The most influential way of
doing this is to perform a SWOT analysis of the
company.

 Reputable clientele (P&G, Unilever)
 Good production capacity
 Project management expertise assigned through
sophisticated IT based systems is one of the key
elements in achieving successful result of projects.
 Production capacity not fully utilized.
 Lacks investment made in human resources focusing
on development.
 Investments required in R& D and infrastructure
 Lacks in active marketing services
 Lacks experienced dedicated workforce
 Lacks software development with Innovation
 (ERP software requirement)
 Poor incentives
 High Employee turnover rate Most of the employees
are work overloaded.
 Only one mechanical engineer is available to deal with
all depts.
 Large and diversified plant operational area.
 Great room is available as per the organization’s vision
for atomization of the processes.
 Availability of large manpower.
 Developmental issues
 Companies have better R&D systems
 Companies having good infrastructure attracting more
people to work
 Good pay scale market competitive salaries offered by
the companies
Fulfill the necessary workforce requirements
 Hiring of experienced Sr. Engineers who could
implement the polices set by the management that
kills the monopoly of lower level worker and
supervisory staffs.
 Hiring of HR dept. experienced personnel to bridge
between the management and the employees that
reduces the staff demotivation and address the issues.
 Hiring of shift engineers in all dept.
 Building workflows and better audit system in place.
 Pakistan has made considerable progress in basic inorganic chemicals
like Soda Ash, Caustic Soda, Sulphuric Acid and Chlorine and has
acquired sufficient production capacity of these chemicals to cater for
the needs of the local industry, while surplus is being exported.
 lack of industrial infrastructure and technology in Pakistan results in
low quality products which do not mark the standard.
 lack of resources and weak trade policies of the ministries.
 Pakistani products are not given access to the international market.
 it must improve its own production and ensure high quality of
chemical products.
 This will bring innovation and must utilize its youth which has fresh
minds and great ideas to enhance the chemical industry resulting in
qualitative and quantitative perfection in the chemical products.
