2. I have learnt how to use
a storyboard to create
and film a new, unseen
film.
Also have to accurately use a camera to film
feature of a film, as well as using a range of
shots to be used in a film and understand
how the shots are used to create a thrilling
scene feature of a film.
Even I have learnt how to directed and
produced a film.

Furthermore, I have
learnt how to manage my
time accurately as I now
know how to use a
storyboard to help with
my planning with the
film. Therefore I know
how what location and
camera shots are
required for a certain
scene or feature.
Additional, I have learnt how to
working group efficiently to
complete the task that’s at
hand.
Issues with continuity:
I have learnt during the preliminary task that continuity errors can occur during the making
of any film and they are easily done. Therefore I have learnt that the camera operator,
producers and film director has to watch out for anything that shouldn’t be in the scene of
the shot.
However in some of THE PACKAGE feature that’s some is shown in and mostly not are some
continuity errors such as sunglasses and objects like scripts and bags can be seen in the short
film.
3. I worked as part of my group to
complete the preliminary task’s basic
requirements such as showing an
actor/actress walking down a
corridor, opening a door and sitting
down to deliver some speak to
another actor/actress.
I used a range of different camera shots in the
film such as shot/reverse shot, establishing shot,
mid-shot, close-up and extreme close-up.
Also used a range of camera movement like the
180 degree rule, where the camera moves on a
180 degree rotation and match on action.

Time management
With the use of the storyboard,
time management was easy as we
used the storyboard to tell us the
required location, the costume and
type of camera shots that is
required for the scenes of part of
the film.
Another thing I’m proud of what I did
well in the making of the film- THE
PACKAGE; I took the role of the main
actor in the film, as well as scriptwriting
the script for the film, directing and
helping out with producing and editing
the film.
I proud with the final version of the
film, as a lot of work was put towards
making the film a success, as the use
of the editing software Adobe
Premiere Pro CC, as we turned some
scenes of the film black and white.
Also get the correct, required shots for
the making of the film.
4. The things that went
wrong with filming the
film- THE PACKAGE.
That there was a few
continuity errors that
occur during the
making of the film.
An example of a continuity error that occur in the making of the film; the sunglasses
that was on the main actor’s head (the secret agent) covering the eyes. At the start
of the film when the agent was walking down the long pathway to school, he is
wearing some sunglasses, then towards the end of the film when the secret agent is
speaking to the other actor in the film, the agent is wearing a different pair of
sunglasses that doesn’t matches the one he was wearing at the start of the film.

What will I do differently?
I would make sure in future, there are no
continuity errors in any of my future filming, as I
will take care that actors and actress wear the
same clothing and accessories during filming.
Take more care that anything that shouldn’t be in
the scene during filming, also take more time with
filming.
What will I avoid during the planning process for my main task?
One avoid, that I not going to involve in my main task is continuity errors
as these can sour the film and make the film not that successful. As the
basic continuity errors can just be simple accessories like sunglasses,
watches and earrings.
Another thing, I will do differently is how long the filming should be, as
there is a maximum filming footage in the main task. Filming in the same
location for the majority of the film like THE PACKAGE was mostly filmed
in a school classroom, corridor and the bus park. Therefore I must try to
film in different locations to set more of a stronger feel to the film.
5. My team met the brief of the task, that we
had to involve the following requirements:
- Walking down a corridor
- Opening a door
- Sitting down
- Delivering some lines of speak.
In the filming of ‘THE PACKAGE’, my team obey the rule of 180
degree rule, that was used in the film towards the beginning
to the middle part of ‘THE PACKAGE’.

Also in my preliminary task, I used
shot/reverse shot in the conversation
between the two characters in the film.
Also my team obey and used the rule of match on action in the film. As in the short
film we kept on filming until a problem in the scene occurred, then we stopped
filming. We also involve the term of Mise-en-scene, as we used costumes such as a
suit and background noises in the film as the features that were presented during
filming the scenes and shots.
6. What role did I have during the planning process
and during the filming of the preliminary task?
During the planning process of the preliminary task I
drew out the storyboard for the film, by separating
which camera shot is required for a pretibial scene.
Also I took on the main role as the agent in the
preliminary task film.
Furthermore I help in directing and producing the
short film- ‘THE PACKAGE’, as I put ideas of the
bests camera shot to a pretibial scene.
As well as sharing the editor’s role in putting clips
of film together, cutting them down and applying
music background to the finished version of the
film.
How flexible was I in the planning process and filming
of the film?
I was very flexible when it come to planning and filming
the film, as most of the filming was done during lessons
that was given to use to do some filming each lesson.
Also in the planning process, we were flexible as my
group spent some of our time planning our storyboard
and spending some minutes before starting to film with
setting up the equipment and costumes for the film.
Evaluation of my
contribution to
the group’s work?
The skills I have gained:
- Being a producer to make a film.
- Acting a director to direct the direct the shots and filming.
- Scriptwriter to write the script for the film.
- Editor to put all the clips and music together to make the
finished version of the film.
- Being an actor in the film.
Did I work well as part of my team?
Yes, I did work well as I helped out with telling and directing
my group with the correct possible camera shot for a pretibial
scene. Furthermore we share between my group which roles
is best for each of us, like I took on the role of director and
producer, as the other member of my team took on the role
of the main camera man. However both of us shared the roles
of being actors, scriptwriters and editors during the planning
process and filming.
