THE RIVER: salmons, trouts, eels and otters
We had a guided visit in English. Our guide
was very nice and patient.

Unfortunately the otters were sleeping. They usually sleep
during the day.

Look at the brills and their perfect camouflage in the sand.

THE ROMAN VILLA OF
VERANES

The large villa of Veranes was built in the 4th
Century AD. The owner of the house was called
Veranius, he was a very rich man.

The house had swimming pools and baths,
some bedrooms for the owner’s guests, a living
room, and a big dining room.
