1. Spring Term week 3-4 9th
-20th
March
Dear Parents,
We have got a busy couple of weeks in preschool. We are continuing to talk
about France, preparing for our Mother’s Day service and celebrating Red
Nose Day. We will be having cherry tomatoes as our fruit of the week (as a
link to red nose day!) Please read the notices section carefully.
Activities we will be doing in pre-school:
Looking at pictures of French buildings e.g Eiffel Tower, The Arc De
Triomphe and then trying to build our own using construction toys.
As we do this we shall talk about how to make our building taller,
stronger etc.
Singing our rhyme of the week which will be Frere Jacques.
Making Mother’s Day cards.
Activities to do at home with your child:
Sing the rhyme of the week.
Look at pictures of French buildings, either at the library or on the
internet.
Notices:
Remember our Mother’s Day service on Sunday 15th
March, starting at
10.30am. The children will be singing two songs which they have learnt
specially.
Red Nose day is on Friday 13th
. The children are invited to come to
preschool in their own clothes and to ‘make their faces funny for
money.’ We will be collecting any voluntary donations which you may
like to make.
On Friday 20th
March we will be having a French Mardi-Gras
celebration. The children are invited to wear fancy dress (although
still appropriate for school) for this.
