This document outlines 14 rules for subject-verb agreement in sentences. It explains that a singular subject requires a singular verb and a plural subject requires a plural verb. Some exceptions are noted, such as when the subject is an amount or measurement, which typically takes a singular verb. Compound subjects can take a singular or plural verb depending on if the subjects are joined by "and", "or", or "nor".
