1. OPENING SEQUENCE PITCH
PRESENTATION
In this PowerPoint presentation I will be going through all the aspects
Of the creation of my opening sequence called ‘Hidden’
2. SYNOPSIS
• The opening sequence will revolve around the robbery of a historical object
from a museum.
• Matt Green (the criminal, played by Roby Crean) flees to a suburban park in
attempt to hide the object before it is picked up by his boss.
• Stewart White (an innocent individual, played by Hector Crean) walking
through the park trips to discover this hidden item.
3. WHAT’S MY AIM?
• My aim is to create a lot of tension which would assist in
enhancing the genre.
• I will be using a specific soundtrack to achieve synchronous
editing which will supply more flow to the sequence of events.
4. CAST
This is Roby Crean who will be playing the character Matt Green
(the criminal) who steals the historical object from the museum.
The reason I chose Roby to play this character is to due to the fact
That he’s tall, making other characters look more innocent and
less significant.
Roby is 17 and will be playing a 21 year old in the opening sequence.
This is Hector Crean who will be playing the character Stewart
White, the innocent character.
The reason I chose Hector to play this character is because he is
smaller and can play more vulnerable roles.
Hector is 17 and will be playing 17 in the opening sequence.
5. GENRE
• Thriller
• I will incorporate editing techniques (short takes, close ups and
canted angle shots to enhance the genre).
• I will also use non-diagetic sound with prominent percussion to
sync in music with the actions in the opening sequence.
7. LOCATION
The opening sequence will be filmed in Chiswick
Park.
I wanted to film here as there were various
places in the park where the stolen item could be
Placed.
This location is also close to where I live so it
isn’t far to travel with the camera equipment
8. SOUND
• The soundtrack I have chosen to use is from the prologue of the Dark Knight.
• The tempo of the soundtrack goes from slow to fast creating tension and is
low in pitch to create an eerie and dark atmosphere, reflecting the
personality of the Matt Green (the criminal)
9. TARGET AUDIENCE
• The target audience of my opening sequence is 15-30 year olds.
• The film would not be suitable for people below the age of 15
due to the genre and the plot of the sequence.
• I don’t think this opening sequence would appeal to the older
demographic due once again to the nature of the film.
10. TECHNICAL CONSTRUCTION
• I will using a Nikon Coolpix P500 camera, a
Velbon LE-30 tripod, a shoulder mount and
camera jib to create my content.
• This jib and mount will enable to me to create
higher quality shots such as high angle and pan
shots.
• I will also be using a Macbook Pro and Final Cut
to edit the production
