3. Memory Verse
Romans 10:9-13
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and
believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you
believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that
you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says,
“Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”
12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—
the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call
on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the
Lord will be saved.

CONTENT: FINAL JUDGMENT
• 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and
you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in
prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see
you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and
welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit
you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of
these my brothers,[a] you did it to me.’
• 41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared
for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave
me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me,
sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did
we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to
you?’ 45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the
least of these, you did not do it to me.’

8. Revelation 9 – End of the World Visions
• Trumpets, Judgements
• 17 The horses and riders I saw in my vision looked like this: Their breastplates
were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the horses
resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and
sulfur. 18 A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and
sulfur that came out of their mouths. 19 The power of the horses was in their
mouths and in their tails; for their tails were like snakes, having heads with
which they inflict injury. 20 The rest of mankind who were not killed by these
plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop
worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols
that cannot see or hear or walk. 21 Nor did they repent of their murders, their
magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.
9. 1300-1500
EARLY 1300s
• Pope Celestine – A missed opportunity
• Prior Popes rode into Rome on glorious horses
• Celestine loved the people; he came to Rome barefoot, and he rode a donkey.
• While in Rome, Celestine refused to play political games; he resigned.
• Pope Boniface VIII – A wannabee gangster
• Declared himself ruler of all Western society
• Unlike prior years, the church lost power. The French king kidnapped the Pope and
killed him.
• Never again would Popes rule entire civilizations.
10. 1300-1500
EARLY 1300s
• From Rome to Avignon, France
• Period – Known as the "Babylon Captivity" of
the Roman Church
• Out of fear, Popes moved to Avignon
• They became exceedingly corrupt
• Sold leadership positions
• Indulgences
• Slept with clergy
• Manipulated the people for personal gain
12. Imagine
In London, unburied corpses covered the streets.
"Flushed circles ("rings") formed on victims cheeks ("rosies"). As victims died, they often
experienced breathing fits that sounded like sneezes. Folk filled their pockets with flowers
("posies") to mask the stench of death around them. So, parents sang to their children:
'Ring around the rosies, pockets full of posies./Achoo! Achoo! We all fall down."

15. Leadership – Titus 1
The reason I left you in Crete was that you might put in
order what was left unfinished and appoint elders in every
town, as I directed you. 6 An elder must be
blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children
believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and
disobedient. 7 Since an overseer manages God’s
household, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not
quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not
pursuing dishonest gain. 8 Rather, he must be
hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-
controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. 9 He must hold
firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so
that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute
those who oppose it.

22. Debate on
Censorship
• Historically, the Roman
Catholic church censored
translations, which kept God's
people from the truth of
Scripture for decades.
• Do you believe the
government should forbid
citizens from reading certain
materials?
• Do you agree with Twitter /
Facebook decision to ban
President Trump?
