3. Front Office : This dept. directly interacts with
the customers as and when they arrive at the
hotel and handles the transactions between the
hotel and its guests, handles their luggage,
customer service and coordinates for all
services provided in the hotel.
Housekeeping : Cleanliness of both guest
rooms and common areas is important for a
pleasant experience. Workout rooms, pool
areas, meeting rooms and other areas should
all be thoroughly cleaned as and when needed .

4. Food and Beverage (The Kitchen) : A
kitchen manager or a chef creates menus
and oversees the ordering, preparation
and delivery of food. Depending on the
extent of the restaurant operation, other
staff may also get included. E.g. Sous

Weddings and Conferences : If the hotel
also offers wedding and conference
services, banquet sales then an
operations managers handles the
bookings and manages the flow of the
event.
5. Facilities Management : Maintenance,
repairs, pool and parking lot cleaning, gym
maintenance, plumbing, electrical, etc
Back-House Operations : Maintaining
guest’s account with the accounting systems,
preparing the guest’s bill, collecting the
balance amount of guest bills, generating
reports, etc.
Sales and Marketing : It relies on the front
office to provide data on guest histories and
details concerning each guest’s visit. This
helps in marketing campaigns and
promotion.
6. Security : It involves maintaining the guest
safety and security, surveillance, fire safety
measures, emergency communication systems
and cybersecurity.
Website : A website is necessary which includes
online booking option, information about the
hotel and the company.
Reservation : In the reservation process the
room space is the main product that hotel has to
sell. It includes maintaining the guest reservation
data and keeping an eye on room status
availability.
