argument, "animation is not the art of drawings that move, but the art of movements that are drawn" (p.62), Waltz with Bashir is exactly corresponding
with McLaren's opinion. The difference that we could distinguish animation from a drawing is the movement in it. Therefore what we really should
look more into an animation are the moves instead of the frames.
Waltz with Bashir gives a hard time to the critics that whether it counts as an animation or a documentary. The reason for this confusion is the amount
of reality it contains, not only within the frames, but also within the movement each character has and between each frame, because "what happens
between each frame is much more important than what exists on each frame" (McLaren, 1995, p.26). How it moves is much more than what is
moving. When McLaren (1995) says, "animation is therefore the art of manipulating the invisible interstices that lie between frames" (p.26), again, he

Hello again Jessica. I know I haven't exactly been keeping my promises on the due dates and I'm only fortifying the stigma that I touched on in my
last email but I've still got a few questions. (Did you get my last email, by the way?) Anyway, would you just like me to submit what I have? I have
well over two minutes and way more than five angles. Sound has also been added and mixed. The entire movie, however, is not finished. It should
give you enough to grade or at least be a worthy placeholder until I can really submit a product I'm not totally disappointing with. I know it may be
hard to even fathom what could possibly be taking so long but I've been mulling over several other things regarding this project.
One of the reasons I can't seem to get anywhere and one of the areas I'm constantly getting hung up on is the nature and tone of the project itself.
I wanted to establish a sort of creepy and unsettling mood for the project and I can't achieve what I was originally visioning in my head. Some of the
animations employed simply seem to make their scene seem frivolous, silly, and awkward. I may spend up to an hour or two just trying to figure out
how to make the seemingly insignificant feel "right."
Another issue that I'm having is that there are several frame rate and "frame jump" mishaps that have occurred during the initial picture taking.

This movie was mostly made to try to make those who were upset with urban life, more specifically whites who were upset, to leave it behind and join
the plantation life (Terry, 471–2). This movie was more for the white audience, making the black slaves who are living on the plantation out to be
happy, and that it's the dream place to be. This was of course not how it really was, it was a much darker situation then, especially for the "happy"
blacks. The lead actor himself could not even come to watch his own movie, due to the segregation laws in place during that period. One common
type of propaganda done by the media is usually dehumanizing the enemies during war times or just during times of tension between multiple

minute.
Comment: I found this film very tough going– it is undoubtedly a well made film and has some clever and quirky moments. However I lost interest
around halfway through the film and could not engage with the film and its clunky style. A lighter touch would have made a huge difference to the
viewing experience. Perhaps as an artistic statement it deserves more than three stars but as a movie going experience it was only a little bit better than
average.
The clay only gave the story more credibility, others might differ in their opinion about that, but I think if it were played by real actors it would be
less believable, (saying the tale itself was based on a true story).
