In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

2. When we started this topic the first thing we had to
decide was what genre our film opening would be.
For my preliminary task it was based around
romance. I found this hard to do as since the
characters we used and myself are very good friends
it was hard to stay focused on what we were doing,
also it was slightly awkward.

3. I found that in many horror films such as; The
Nightmare on Elmstreet, Final Destination,
Scream and Sorority Row, they used normal
people as the victims. This meant that I could
choose anyone to be in my film.

5. At first I wanted to use Fix you
by Coldplay as the music in the
background for my opening. I
then thought that I should
broaden my ideas and then
came across a copyright free
horror/scary instrumental. I
listened to it and it does the
exact same thing a real horror
film does. It starts off eerier and
gentle then crescendos into
heavy bass.

6. A convention of a horror film is to use
high angles on characters high in power
and significance, I developed the
concept to using a high angle shot and
a cut afterwards.
The costume of my characters I
kept to being casual and just
ordinary. This was because when
I had seen previous films this is
something they did as well such
as Nightmare on elm street.
