Wide shot
Crane shot
Aerial shot/ Birds eye view

the location and possibly the time
of day, the shot is like a long shot
but from a farther distance.
This shot is taken to show both the
character and the surrounding to
intensify audience knowledge about
the scene and help them understand
where the characters might be going.
This shot is taken by a crane, a
camera is set up on a crane and the
the crane is raised to show the area
around a set object or person, This is
used in sports matches also to keep
out of site.
This shot allows audience to see a
whole area from above, the use of this
is to help them understand the setting
around.
2. Close up shot
Extreme close up
Point of view
Over the should
The close up is a shot usually taken of
a character to show face exprestions
and emotions, this shot helps
audience understand the scene as its
easy for them to tell whats happening
due to the fact that the camera is close
to the characters face.
This shot is like the close up but
instead it a smaller frame shot, this
shot only shows the characters face
from his nose to his forehead.
This shot allowed the audience to see
exactly how and what the character is
seeing, this is very useful because it
helps the audience interact with the
film.
This shot is taken usually when 2
characters are speaking, the shot is
taken from behind one of the
characters to show the other persons
face and body expressions.

characters are speaking, a shot of
each character is taken and put side to
side with the other one, audience
assume that they are looking at each
other due to the way the shot is taken.
This shot is taken when a camera is
stabilized in one location but is able to
move right and left, this is done to
show audience progress or
surrounding it could go up to 360
degrees.
Its a shot taken vertically this helps
audience engage with the scene that
is being shown, sometimes the shot is
taken like this to scare or confuse
audience.
4. High angle shot
Low angle shot
Zoom/reverse zoom
This shot is taken from above which
creates a dramatic sense, it usually
make the audience think that the
character is vulnerable.
This shot is taken from the nee level
and looks up to show a character or
characters, this is usually done to
show strength of the character.
This is a shot where the camera goes
from a far place to a character or
object very quick, this is done to
increase drama within the scene
making the audience question what
might be happening.
