3. WHAT IS SATOR?
The Sator Square is a recurrent Latin inscription , in the form of
a magic square , consists of the following five words: SATOR, AREPO,
TENET, OPERA, ROTAS. Their juxtaposition, in the order indicated,
which gives rise to a palindrome , ie a phrase that remains the same
whether read from left to right or vice versa.
The inscription has been the subject of frequent archaeological finds,
both in stone inscriptions in both graffiti , but the meaning and symbolic
meaning still remain obscure, despite numerous assumptions.
4. HISTORY OF THE MYSTERIOUS
SQUARE
The oldest and most famous examples are the incomplete discovered
in 1925 during excavations Pompeii engraved on a column of Publius
Paquius Proculo home, and one found in November 1936 on a column
of Gym Grande always in Pompeii. The latter has had great importance in
historical studies related to the phrase palindrome [since it is complete and
enriched with other interesting signs that are not found elsewhere ] and it
