Alex. Company for mining and refractories follow the Holding Company for metallic Industries
and it is the major manufacturer of shaped and unshaped alumina silicate and high alumina
products, which have been used in many industries i.e: petroleum, ceramics, cement, steel,
aluminum and ect., in Africa, middle east region and south Europe. The plant has been set up
with technology from America at 1990 to produce refaractories under license of AP GREEN from
America.
Achievements
Title: general shift engineer in tunnel and rotary kiln
 Work as a team member to study the offer from American company, Nutec
Bickley, and German company, Red Hammer, to choose the suitable offer to the
establishment of a tunnel kiln for ACR company.
 Work as a team leader to pre-commission & commission of the tunnel kiln with
American Nutec Bickley company.
Responsibilities:
 Follow the contractor's structure working with co-operation of company consultant.
 Receive all drawings about the building bricks of the kiln, pipes, instrumentations and
equipments and started to prepare the requirements.
 Follow the construction works, setting up pipes, instrumentations and equipments then
co-operate with the Nutec bickly delegate and our team to start up the kiln.
Title: shift manager for tunnel & rotary kiln:
In rotary kiln the calcination process is done to raw materials & in the tunnel kiln the final
shaped products have been burned. Both kiln is running by natural gas depending on the
temperature gradient from the drying zone to the burning zone then to the cooling zone by
using fans.
Title: shift manager for grinding & mixing department
This department includes the following equipments which controlled from DCS & PLC
control room (Cone Crusher, Pan Grinding, Ball Mill, bucket elevators, screeners, dust
collectors & Mixers)
the production process was to grind the raw materials, Kaoline, Bauxite & Clay then
screened to different particle size and stored inside pin tanks then as shop order mixed
together dry to produce un-shaped product or wet, using water, and stored inside pin tanks
to transfer it after that for pressing to produce shaped products.
Responsibilities:
 Manage work during the shift as a leader for DCS operators, field operators, mechanical
and electrical technicians.
 Follow the work instructions in G shift and department head report.
 Reported to the other shift in charge and department head.
 Contact personally with the previous and the next shift in charge to follow the plan of the
work.
Additional jobs in ACR:
 Work as an internal auditor of the company for ISO 9001 : 2000 .
 Work as a plant manager who is responsible for the production and follow all
departments with its shift in charge to make the work easy then reported to the unit head and
this was for 1 shift per week
