School.
1) Describe the overall topic of your Senior Project.
I will tutor a few kids to raise their overall grade in a certain class.
2) What is your previous experience in this area of study?
I helped my brother in several of his classes on a daily basis last year.
3) To what career will you connect this project (required)?
I will connect this project to the career of teaching.
4) Describe what you are proposing to do for your Product step-by-step and in detail. Write on the
back of this sheet if necessary.
I will find 2-3 kids, ranging from 1st to 7th grade, that are not doing well in a certain class or either
need a little help to get through the year. To find these kids that need help, I will ask people that I
know if they have children/siblings that need help with any of their classes. I will tutor them
individually. I will then tutor them in that class, or whatever they need help with, for as many hours
as they need. I did fairly well in school when I was younger, and I remember each subject about the
same as any other subject from elementary and middle school. If anything , I would say science is the
subject I know the least from those grades. I will also ask teachers to give me tips on what or how to
work with the children to help raise their grade sufficiently. My product is to raise their overall
grade(s) in a certain class by as many points as possible. I will show the judges a record of their test
scores and grades in the class. Since March is the deadline, I will show their grades from August to
March.
5) How is this projecta “learning stretch” and a challenge for you?
When I helped my brother with his homework it was similar to tutoring, but I helped him whenever I
had the time. For this project, I will be scheduling my time around the children I tutor in order to raise
their grade by many points.
6) What are your estimated costs for completing the Product, and how will you fund these costs?
The estimation of my costs will depend on how much gas I use to go to and from where they need me
to tutor them; therefore, I cannot estimate that yet. Any extra things I need to help the kids study and
learn what they need to would probably be around ten to twenty dollars total.
7) Who have you chosen (or are considering choosing) as your Project Facilitator?
2. I am considering Mrs. Shugart because she has a lot of patience and I feel she would know how to
help me in the area of tutoring.
8) What is this person’s expertise in this field?
Mrs.Shugart is a teacher here at Creekview.
