This document outlines a math tutorial project organized by Ashley Cloud S. Garcia. The goal of the project was to help peers struggling in math by providing tutoring. Garcia informed 5 friends about tutoring and taught them formulas and concepts from an upcoming test on October 10, 2012. During the session, Garcia used games to motivate the students and test their understanding. The results were positive, as all students improved their math scores on the subsequent test and requested additional tutoring for future exams.
2. NEED FOR THE
PROJECT
Everyone knows that one of the hardest subjects in
school is Mathematics, with all of the formulas needed
and the problems needed to to solved.
Some of my friends and classmates are having trouble
understanding the subject, some even failing and some
are nearly failing.
I would want to help them so that they could pass the
subject and refrain from getting low and failing grades.
3. GOAL OF THE
PROJECT
The goal of my project is to help my peers in their problems
academically.
Also, another goal of mine is to help them get higher grades
and out of the line of 7.

4. Project Activity
• I informed my friends on what my plan is and
around 5 students happily accepted the tutoring
service I have offered. The day before the test
they went to my place for me to tutor them. I
spent time teaching them first before giving out
questions and starting a game to get them
motivated. In the end, all of them got high scores
and improved their skills and knowledge in
Mathematics.
5. SteP- by- Step planning
1. I informed and explained to my friendsmy plan to
help them with their studies.
2. 5 students came out of the 10 that I asked to
come.
3. On October 10, 2012, the day before the test, I
taught them the formulas and other information
needed to understand the concept of the lesson.
4. After they have understood the lesson, I started a
game to have them motivated and to test out if
they really understood it.
5. In the end they scored high points and a better
understanding of the math subject.
6. Results
A week after I did my small project, the tests were
given out and the people that I have taught had
passing scores. This was a big improvement from their
previous scores and some even asked me to tutor them
again for our periodical (or quarterly) exams.
My friends now have more skills and knowledge on the
subject Mathematics and have understood well the
lesson.
