2. BLENDER
Blender is a kitchen appliance used to
combine or puree food ingredients. Typically
used for crushing ice, creating smoothies and
puree, powdering small solids into liquids and
blending them.
First electric blender is patented by
Stephen J. Poplawski in 1922. Since then
many different models of blenders have
become available in the globe.

3. There are two types of blender, the
Countertop Blender is the traditional
stationary design and the Handheld
Blenders or most popularly known as
Immersion Blender it is a small and
lightweight commonly used for blending
soups and pureeing vegetables.
The blender has a several parts, the
lids and fill caps, the jar, the jar base, the
blades and the base.

4. Parts of a Blender
Lids and fill caps - Blender lids are usually
made of rubber and often contain a hole in the
center for a plastic fill cap. The fill cap is a
removable insert that allows more items to be
added to the jar without removing the entire
lid.
Jar - the blender jar is the main unit into
which the items intended for blending are
placed. They can be made of glass or plastic
and are topped off with a lid.

5. Jar base - this round unit with a hole in the
center screws onto the bottom of the blender
jar.
Blades - are usually constructed of stainless
steel and consist of two or more blades held in
place by a central piece the whirls around for
cutting.
Base - the blender base is the mechanical heart
of the unit and houses a motor that turns the
blades. The base holds the jar in place and is
outfitted with controls to adjust the speed and
type of blending desired.

versatile kitchen appliances that can save
time and effort in food preparation and
also enable a cook to create imaginative
and delicious concoctions. It corporates
the fruits and vegetables into diet.
Blenders offers many benefits in the
kitchen. They can chop, dice, mix, blend
and puree with ease that cannot
accomplish with hand, thus it’s reducing
food preparation time.
