2. Where is it?
´Las Medulas´are in the region of El Bierzo, in Leon in the north of Spain.
3. What is it?
This mountains of red land were excavated by the Romans to extract tons of
gold. It´s a complicated mining system. This ancient mine was the largest of
the Roman Empire. Las Medulas has been declared a World Heritage Site by
UNESCO.
4. What can we see?
You can know the grottoes, caves and lakes on foot, by bike or on horseback.
There is a museum where there are models and proyections to understand
how this mountains where drilled.
6. Where is it?
Guggenheim Museum is located in the Basque city of Bilbao, in northern Spain,
along the Nervión River.
7. What is it?
It´s a spectacular structure made of titanium, glass and limestone. Frank
Gehry designed it. It was opened in 1997. It´s one of the most buildings of
the 20th century.
8. What can we see?
This contemporary art museum presents temporary exhibitions and
permament collections. It has seven monumental sculptures: Puppy, Mamá (the
spider), Tulips… The building is also an artwork.
It has more than one million annual visitors.
