court and made up of two five player teams. Two guards, two forwards, and one center make up the

This desire has grown so strong within young American athletes that some choose to play for
international leagues instead of playing and attending a University. Emmanuel Mudiay represents
one of the many athletes who have made that exact decision. Emmanuel Mudiay, an outstanding
number 2 High School point guard recruit, made the final decision in July 2014 to play one year for
China and get paid $1.2 million. Before he decided to get paid and play for China, Mudiay had
committed to play for Southern Methodist University. Making this decision offers athletes such as
Mudiay, the opportunity to focus on improving their basketball skills against other highly skilled
foreign athletes. However, it has been noted that many players, who commit to playing in foreign
