Trend and history reports, flexible reports for custom time periods with focus on your various parameters
Integrated in your TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) service portfolio with other relevant services on your digital service platform
Your requirements - our solution
LuCA stands for Lubricant Condition Analysis program. It enables you
to request oil and grease analyses directly at Klüber Lubrication
laboratories via our EfficiencyManager (Service Online Portal) in an
easy way. The analysis determines the condition of your operating
lubricant and is therefore an essential tool for your effective preventive
maintenance in line with the principles of risk management and TPM
(Total Productive Maintenance).
Our Service Online Portal EfficiencyManager enables you to efficiently
keep track of all systems, machines and maintenance-relevant
components in your production and also the corresponding
lubrication and maintenance tasks. These data build the common
database for plant managers and machine operators.
With the additional application LuCA we now offer a further service
from which you can receive information on the status of your
machines and lubricants based on on-site inspections and laboratory
analysis of collected lubricant samples. Trend visualisations of
historical data enable maintenance measures
to be derived.
LuCA includes oil and grease analyses which are carried out at the
Klüber Lubrication laboratories and provide clear and detailed
information regarding the “health condition” of a lubricant by using
specific chemical and physical parameters.
You will receive the results of the analysis in EfficiencyManager (our
service platform) in a summarised report showing in userfriendly form
the actual operating condition of your lubricant for each subsidiary,
line, application and component. The evaluation is supported by the
display of the following symbols:
You will also see the trends and be able to create reports with various
layout options based on different parameters.
Steps of LuCA program:
Order oil/ grease sampling kits from your Klüber Lubrication
sales contact
Get an account via our service online portal
Use the kit for taking samples, collect the lubricant and label
the samples with the included barcode Sample ID
Enter the Sample ID or scan the barcode with a scanner in the
EfficiencyManager
Fill in additional information and send the sample to the Klüber
Lubrication laboratory
Receive the report

KlüberMonitor OCA (oil condition analysis) kit
The kit has been developed by Klüber Lubrication for easy and safe sampling with a high standard of quality.
It is made of materials compatible with the lubricants to be analysed and protects the sample from unwanted contamination. The fluid must be
sampled during operation of the system and at operating temperature. Always use the same sampling point in the system for proper
evaluation.
Please note that the specific conditions under which a machine or system operates are not necessarily known to Klüber Lubrication. A single
analysis conducted provides only a 'snapshot' of the lubricant condition.
In order to achieve effective monitoring of any system and a meaningful trend in the state of the fluid in operation over time, a significant
number of analyses should be planned according to the operating conditions of the system.
An OCA analysis includes:
Chemical and physical parameters: appearance, colour, kinematic viscosity at 40°C, T.A.N., water content
IR spectroscopy: identity, decomposition of additives, oxidation, extra oils, loss of transparency
Basic additive analysis
Basic wear metals analysis
Optional: density, kinematic viscosity at 100°C, viscosity index, contamination class ISO 4406
KlüberMonitor GCA (grease condition analysis) kit
A GCA analysis includes:
Chemical and physical parameters: appearance, colour, structure, shear viscosity, apparent dynamic viscosity, water content
IR spectroscopy: identity, decomposition of additives, oxidation, extra oils, loss of transparency
Basic additive analysis
Basic wear metals analysis
Optional: NLGI class (only if sufficient quantity of sample is available)
Application
Analysis of the condition of lubricating fluids and greases in operation
can be carried out not only for Klüber Lubrication products but also
for lubricants from other manufacturers based on mineral oil. A
minimum of 100 ml of oil or 40 g of grease, respectively, is required
for a lubricant condition analysis. Further analyses according to other
criteria, which must be agreed and shared, can be carried out on
request. If a lubricant not produced by Klüber Lubrication is to be
analysed, a sample of a fresh lubricant must also be provided for the
analysis as a reference (this will be a new sample request).
Application notes
To ensure that this program works and that you receive quick results,
only our oil and grease analysis kits, which are equipped with a bar
code, may be used.
