1. Linux and Mac Operating
System
Educational Possibilities
2. Linux
• Linux can be a valuable resource for educators.
• Linux offers a variety of creative resources for an
educational setting and meets the technology
needs of student learning.
• The best feature is that Linux is budget friendly
for school districts that have to adhere to serious
budget cuts.
• Linux is also less likely prone to viruses that
encounter other operating systems.
3. Linux
• Linux offers a variety of resources that can
enhance the classroom. According to
research a few of the top applications that
are offered include:
4. MAC
•
According to Apple the apps that are offered for Mac are
highly beneficial to students, easy to use and enable
students to create work showing their
creativity, while challenging higher level thinking skills.
• Apple also provides apps in which students can utilize as
study skills, visual aids and resourceful tools that help
students produce and present information that is
appealing and modernized.
5. MAC
• I feel student interest in learning would be
greater if students were given the access to
utilize many of the resources that Apple has to
offer, also the learning seems to be more
enhanced visually. For example the ability to
navigate through a 3D solar system, would
certainly be more interesting than looking at a
visual in a
text.
6. Slideshare
• SlideShare is a webtool that allows presentations
to be easily presented and shared online.
• SlideShare also provides the ability to share
documents and pictures that can be easily
accessed.
• Their simple goal is to “share knowledge online”
