“A key concept in Media Studies that asks us to consider how
‘real’ or ‘fair’ the portrayals are of people, places and ideas
that we see in media texts. Obviously, any good Media
student knows that there is no such thing as reality in the
media, all texts are merely re-presentations of reality:
someone’s idea or viewpoint, their interpretation of what
the subject is like. All subjects are ‘mediated’ by the process
