Comparison between the Egyptian, Mayan & Aztecs Pyramids Some of the best things about the
Pyramids is that they don't have so many similarities they have their own special uniqueness in their
own way. I would like to give the example of the
Mayan and the Egyptian Pyramid. While they are not similar they are both pyramidal. Egyptian
pyramids are funerary monuments and they are not considered temples. They did have temples that
were close by that were on the ground, but they did not have any on the top. One of the most
intriguing things about the Aztec and the Egyptian pyramids is that they created the pyramids in
alignment with the stars and in alignment with each other and if we think about it they are very
distanced from each other as far away through the Atlantic Ocean. One of the most fascinating
things that I researched was that the Teotihuacan and the
Giza (the three major temples) are in the same layout as the ones that the stars in the Orion's belt.
Can you just imagine being able to see that similarity directly? Even the researchers and any
archeologist who is studying this are left in awe at this amazing resemblance. I want to share that the

Step Pyramid complex was enclosed by a 10 meters wall and included courtyards, temples, and
chapels covering nearly 40 acres (16 hectares) the size of a large town in the third millennium B.C.
As in earlier mastaba tombs, the Step Pyramid's burial chambers were underground, hidden in a
maze of tunnels. However the tomb was stolen, and only left from the third king of Egypt's 3rd
dynasty, Djoser is his mummified left foot.

Prehistoric Egyptian Pyramids
To finish my topic of history, I explained a little about types of burials. Like I mentioned with the
pyramids, the types of burials evolved over time. In Prehistoric Egypt, bodies were buried in the
desert because they would naturally be preserved by dehydration. The "graves" were small oval or
rectangular pits dug in the sand. Along with the deceased body, small tokens were placed with the
body which the Egyptians believed would be transported with the deceased into the afterlife. These
tokens could include a few jars of food and drink or anything else that the deceased family believed
he or she would need in the afterlife. Overtime the size of the graves eventually increase but this
depended greatly on the status and wealth of the deceased

Egyptian Building The Pyramids
Many people believe that the Egyptians built the Pyramids around 2550 BCE. Although this is often
thought of as common knowledge, some people have a different theory. John Van Auken, from the
episode "Who Built Egypt's Pyramids" on the show Digging for the Truth, believes that the
Pyramids were built by an ancient group of people called the Atlantians. His theory isn't accepted by
many people, since there isn't lots of evidence to prove that the Atlantians ever existed. The
Egyptians most likely were the group of people that built the Pyramids.
There is lots is lots of Evidence to support the Egyptians building the Pyramids. The Pyramids have
been carbon dated to the time that the Egyptians lived. They were carbon dated back to 2550 BCE,
which was during the Egyptian empire. Carbon dating is when the age of an object is determined by
measuring the amount of radiocarbon in an object. Carbon dating is frequently used, and is reliable,
which proves that the Pyramids were built when the Egyptians were living. Another piece of
evidence that proves that the Egyptians built the Pyramids is the discovery of Egyptian markings on
the structures. In the article, "Who Built the Pyramids?", the interviewer mentions that "there is an
inscription above Khufu's (a Pharaoh's) burial chamber". This would show that the chamber was
made for a Pharaoh in Egypt. The Egyptian builders also wrote that on the walls that they were
"Friends of Khufu", once again proving that the Pyramid was built for

their pharaohs and queens. Inducing years and years of back–breaking labor to build structures that
have people today still in awe. Historians still argue about who actually built the pyramids; due to
