Bobby Seale were tired of the longstanding racism that oppressed many African–American communities. They decided to take a stand and fight to end

In Oakland, California in October of 1966 Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale what was known as the Black Panther Party for Self–Defense. Newton
and Seale were two African–American activists. It began as poor black people from the same community joining together and entwining in the same
ideology. The Black Panther Party is considered the first organization in the history United States of America, to struggle militantly exert oneself for
ethnic minority and working–class famishment. Bobby Hutton, seventeen years of age at the time was the first person to agglutinate himself as a Black

These agents also fabricated information when arresting members and when trials were held. This even included intimidation of witnesses and
coercion. As Hilliard noted, "the Bureau concocted a threatening letter to jurors, during the 'Chicago Eight' conspiracy trials in efforts to obtain

African Americans didn't have civil rights. They were considered less important and often hated so that people who just so happened to have brown
skin, had fewer opportunities in the U.S. But some people were willing to stand up against this notion that African Americans didn't deserve civil rights.
They began to become groups that banded together to stop this inequality. One of these groups was the Black Panther party, an organization dedicated to
ending police brutality and improve the lives of African Americans.

It tired to solve issues in the black community. One of the ways they tried to end police brutality for blacks is by having armed patrols follow the
police in African American communities (BlackPast). These patrols would wear leather coats and berets to show their military like force. These
patrols would act in civil disobedience to make the police. The party tried to end police brutality in other ways to by listening in to police scanners
to end violent encounters with African Americans (Washington Post). There were several violent conflicts with the police that the Panthers got into.
John Frey, a member of the black panther party shot and killed a policeman during one of these conflicts, and spent 15 years in prison after being
convicted of manslaughter (History). The Party also did several other programs to like free breakfast, schooling, and health clinics to improve the
African Americans lives. They also did an armed protest in the California Sacramento, at the California statehouse (Britannica). This was a
demonstration of civil rights, and the right to bear arms (Engelbert). The Black Panther Party also relied on symbols and phrases so that the party and

My experience at the Oakland Museum was educational, I learn about the history of Asian American were mistreated and placed to work on the
railroads. The artwork I saw at the Museum was quite amazing that look quite realistic. It was a photograph of lady holding a child during the time of
the Great Depression. Another thing I saw was The Black Panther Party exhibit it was quite small, but I learn that African American does not want to
be seen as second class citizen and being disrespected. This connects to our class in a way it relates to the documentary that we watched about the
Black Panther Party. The Black Panther Party is a movement that revolutionized the Black community like the Black Lives Matter movement that is
around today. This particular movement help fund a breakfast program for low income family which it is a model used in public schools. Lastly, I sat
on a half opened airplane and imagining I was an immigrant coming to the United States looking for new opportunities like the War and Peace
documentary I watched for a homework assignment. Overall, I enjoy the Oakland Museum. The second event I attended was the no A's movement. I
did not really went there close enough since I was in a rush to get to work. However, I took a quick second to take a picture of the event. The
movement is not that big compared to the Black Panther Party movement in the early 1990's where Huey, one of the controversial figures in the party.

The Black Panthers, originally named as the Black Panthers for Self–Defense, was an African American revolutionary party that had originated in
Oakland, California. It was an organization that was founded by Huey Percy Newton and Bobby Seale in 1966. Not only that, but it was also the
largest revolutionary organization that had ever existed. Their purpose was to protect fellow African–American residents from mistreatment from the
authorities. During the 1960s, racial injust had spreaded throughout the nation and many suffered through economic and social inequality. In addition,
this party, or organization, was only active in the United States from 1966 when it was created, up until 1989. Learning about the Black Panthers
Party helped us put in perspective the way African Americans had lived during the time of racial prejudice. The topics that we will be focusing on will
be about Huey Percy Newton, Bobby Seale and the organization itself, which was the Black Panther Party. Huey Percy Newton was an African–
American activist who was credited for finding, or establishing, the Black Panther Party, which was a revolutionary party. Not only being founder of
this organization, but he was also a big leading power for this black power movement, created in 1960s. Newton was born on February 17, 1942, in
Monroe, Louisiana. Newton's family had then moved to Oakland, California when he was still a young child, considering the fact that he was the
youngest sibling out of seven children
