My Personal Narrative Of My Life
My personal Narrative The date was October 8, 2014, 2 days after my birthday. One of the realest quotes I heard was "Don't trust a soul" and i
should have listened. It started out as any other day, mom was mad me for one reason or another, dad was sitting on the couch like always playing
the "Call of Duty". I was a Saturday so of course I tried to sleep in but my dad love playing his game with the sound on high it really out under my skin.
Think about it you 're sleeping in your bed and all of a sudden you hear "POW! POW! POW!" you're going to get pretty irritated but i was use to it.
Anyways my dad had no job and if you saw him he was either over his friends house, sleep, arguing with my mom or smoking stuff I shouldn 't say
right now. My... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I didn 't find it weird or strange that that one friend didn 't text me, I figured she was probably busy. That friend name was Kim. Kim was one of
those that told her honest opinion about everything and get got really irritating. Anyways as I was laying down my phone lit up which meant I
got a Snapchat message. It was Kim, I assumed that she was probably going to say something like "Stop laying there and get up and take some
medicine" so I wait a little to read it. When I finally read my whole mood changed she said "I don 't care that you hate me me because honestly I
feel like your fake"" I am clearly annoyed because nothing I was feeling was because of her or direct towards her. But my nose cringed at the word
"fake". Me and Kim had a history she had a smart mouth so nobody really liked her so I was really her only friend. I lost friends because they didn
't want me to be friends with her and stuff like that. Anyways I was far from "fake". I.texted her and said "Wait one minute Kim how in the world
am I fake" she goes on to say " You don 't talk to me how you talk to your other friends and I don 't need you to be my friend i'm not being you too"
at this point I am heated because that was a lie but if I did it was because she was acting like a butt. I took the intuitive to call her and get to the
bottom of.it. The conversation starts out going sensitive and intense until it was my turn to talk she kept screaming "fake fake fake" so I started getting

Personal Narrative: My Love And Hate Relationship With...
My Love/Hate Relationship with English Class From a young age, I have had an interest in reading and writing. When my mother found out she
was pregnant with me, my sister, Kaitlyn, was four years old. Kaitlyn had just begun reading when she found out she would soon have a baby sister.
My sister, eager to share her reading skills, begged my mother if she could read stories to me while I was still in the womb. Once I was born, the
story–telling continued. I gravitated towards books at an early age, most likely because my sister was reading by the time I was big enough to hold a
book. Reading has always been around me. Bright colors caught my attention as a child. If a book had a colorful cover, I wanted someone to read it
to me. When I was three years old, I started learning how to read in my preschool class. While learning to talk, my way of telling someone I wanted
or needed something was to point. My mother would tell me, "use your words". Because my preschool teacher ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

My teacher, classmates, and I would read the Magic Tree House series aloud in class. That series definitely influenced my enthusiasm towards
reading at a young age because it made me believe that if I read a book, I would become a character. Surprisingly, my arm never became tired after
constantly raising my hand all day to volunteer to read out loud. I was eager to present my reading skills to the entire class. I began reading more
difficult books as I went into the fourth grade. The students at Brookland were required to take Accelerated Reader (AR) tests over the books we
read. We had to reach an AR goal each nine weeks of school. Which meant we had to read books, take tests over them, and pass them in order to get
the points. If you met your AR goal, you were able to go on a fun field trip at the end of the nine weeks. The trips were always to the movies or the
water park, so I worked very hard to reach my AR

How Do Relationships Turn From Love To Hate In Othello
How do relationships quickly turn from love to hate? In Shakespeare's "Othello", Iago seeks revenge on Othello through his relationship. In the play
Iago does not get the job he wants, and Othello gets convinced his wife has cheated on him. Love can turn to hate through jealousy, rumors, and lies.
Both Iago's relationship to Othello and Othello's relationship to Desdemona have turned from love to hate through jealousy. "'I have already chosen
my officer.' And what was he? Forsooth, a great arithmetician," Iago not getting the job he wanted, becomes jealous of Cassio who he thinks does not
qualify for the job. The situation gives Iago a reason to hate Othello and strive to get revenge on him. Othello even says "All my fond love thus do I

The Wrestling Room
As I sit here with my eyes closed, I imagine a tropical breeze. The warm wet air slides over my face. The humidity seems almost heavy enough to
crush me. As I take a deep breath, the realization that this is no tropical air comes crashing in. Instead of the refreshing scent of the ocean, or tropical
plants, the taste of salt from sweat and a smell of the human body fill my lungs. The daydream is over. A shrill whistle sounds and the voice of coach
Chuck booms through out the room, breaking the peace that was comforting the pain in my shoulder and bringing me back to reality. I was not on some
humid island paradise, but rather in the explosive atmosphere of the Hotchkiss High School wrestling room.

When I have my workout gear on, I am no longer Adam the senior from HHS. I am between two worlds. The doorway to the wrestling room is the
passage to one of these worlds: the world of wrestling.
From the outside, I can see my teammates preparing for practice. Some sit against the red padded wall, keeping to themselves and looking rather
disgusted with what they will be doing shortly. Others look indifferent, quietly talking with those that look civil around them. Then again, some feel it
is necessary to have some fun before practice starts. They wrestle around, pick on each other and make a general nuisance of themselves. I often
wonder why those that do that can be so careless in the minutes before such an intense practice, but I think they are just trying to ease the tension of yet
another killer work out.
From outside the door, I look at the mat. The gray mat is like a motionless tide, daring me to enter its world and I do. As I sit on the rolled mats along
the wall and look at the clock. Almost time to get going, only five more minutes to be motionless and lazy. Five minutes before the music starts. The
same blaring music day in and day out: Linkin park, Eminem, Metallica. The music that makes you want to scream because you have heard it so much,
but makes you work that much harder anyway. The music makes those that were pacing impatiently put their legs to use, starting the circle before

Angela's Ashes – Frank McCourt's Love/Hate Relationship with his Father Angela's Ashes is a memoir of Frank McCourt's childhood and the
difficulties he faced whilst growing up. His family were very poor and moved from America to Limerick to try and live an easier life. Frank's father
was constantly out of a job and never had enough money to support his family. Frank and his father have a very interesting relationship. Throughout
the book, Frank constantly changes the way he feels for his father. There are times when Frank completely despises him and others where he idolises

the book, Frank hints that he would have a different father if he could. Malachy makes Frank furious, especially when he disrespects Oliver's

Essay About My Birthday
Every birthday is supposed to be special and happy right? Wrong. They are for sure memorable, but not necessarily in a good way. Do you ever have
an experience that ruins something that you had cherished for so long? There have been lots of times in my life that I have been confronted with
situations that changed the way I viewed myself and others, there is one distinct time that I remember abruptly changing my view, and finally learning

days of my life. A day I will remember for as long as I live.Birthdays were an event that I had so dearly cherished before this one, my 7th birthday, after
that, they were ruined forever.
I woke up to "Happy Birthday" accompanied with breakfast in bed, a family tradition. My mom had asked me earlier that week what I wanted for my
birthday breakfast and I had responded with the obvious, the breakfast that everyone in my family asks for, cinnamon rolls. So skip ahead to the next
morning when I had just woken up was presented with a plate of pancakes... what? I was confused, I thought, there must be some mistake.
Oh. I guess maybe mom didn't hear me when I said I wanted cinnamon rolls, but how could she not? And of all things how did she not remember that
I'm not even a fan of pancakes. I thought. This start to my day was not at all what I was hoping for but I kept my head up and ignored the voices

The Bothersome Beauty of Pigeons
"The Bothersome Beauty of Pigeons"
In the essay, "The Bothersome Beauty of Pigeons," Bruce Ballenger initially compares the street vendors in one of Florence's piazzas to the urban
pigeons we are so familiar with. He elogently describes the vendors as marvelous spectacles who add culture and life to urban areas. While they are
considered a neusance to a lot of people, they also hold a certain beauty. They are much like the pigeons, and there seems to be a war against both the
illegal street vendors and the city pigeon. It is a war where there are no hearts involved. The police almost turn a blind eye toward the illegal act of
vending without a liscense, much like the average person tolerates the pigeon. I think that Ballenger's ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A Defining Moment Essay
Many people influenced and events my reading and writing development throughout my childhood from my mother, my elementary librarian, and
Sesame Street, to getting my first pair of glasses. We all have defining moments in our lives where we can look back and say, "That moment changed
my life." This is the story of the defining moment that changed the way I read and write, and I learned it from a whale!
It was the beginning of my seventh grade year. I was about twelve years old and, I guess you could say a nerd. I did well in school so I was placed in
the Gifted and Talented program with other nerds in my class. As part of this program we were required to read at a certain level or read a certain
number of books each semester. You... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I thought to myself, hey, I like whales. I've read stories about ships and pirates and stuff before. This looks like something I might like. I can still
smell the old paper and threaded binding resonating in my mind as I opened the book and scrolled through the pages, soaking in the vibrant illustrations
of what would soon become my obsession for the next six months.
Happy with my selection and feeling fairly proud of myself, I take the book to the check–out desk. The desk is occupied by the stereotypical librarian.
She is an older lady probably in her sixties with gray wiry hair and half square bi–focal glasses that sit on the end of her nose. As I place the book on
the counter, she looks down her nose and through her glasses at me with a look of skepticism. Frowning as she speaks, she tells me that maybe I
should choose something else. Undaunted, I refuse and ask to check out the book. She gives a few other suggestions but again, I refuse. She wishes
me luck as she slides it back to me and I stuff the hefty book into my backpack.
I start reading the book and right away it is intimidating from the very first paragraph. I am faced with language and sentence structure I do not
understand, what is a bedfellow and why does he carry a purse? Is he gay? Immediately I am second guessing my decision but I am determined to get
through this book. It takes me the better part of a week to get through the first chapter. I

Human And Alien Relationships : Alien And. Bloodchild By...
Human and Alien Relationships in Alien and "Bloodchild"
Ridley Scott and Olivia Butler both took the topic of aliens and made it their own. While they have different story lines, there are still distinct
similarities, but many differences as well. Ridley Scott took the idea of aliens and with that he created the movie Alien. In this movie, the humans are
awakened from their sleep capsules to explore a distress call from an alien vessel. An alien attacks one of the crewmembers and that is when the
trouble begins. In Olivia Butler's short story, "Bloodchild", humans had to evacuate their home, Earth, and found refuge with the Tlics. The Tlics then
use male humans to incubate and give birth to their young. The aliens from Alien from "Bloodchild" share a general objective of trying to maintain
their race, but they have a great deal of diversity at the same time. There are similarities that are seen in the lifespan of men, the process of impregnating
the man, and the sense of sexuality throughout the film and short story. The distinction is most obvious when it comes to their characteristics, their
mannerisms and their values. More specifically, the portrayal of the two different aliens the film and short story, the relationships between humans and
aliens and the perspective of the humans on the incubation of the young.
The aliens in the film and the short story are seen in different lights. Scott's film, Alien, displayed one of the crewmembers being attacked by the alien

Love And Love Essay
LOVE & HATE I. INTRODUCTION As we grow up in life, we grow up with the understanding that we are loved or to give love. Sometimes that love
turns into hate depending on the circumstances which it involves. As Christians, we are taught to show and give love to all and not to hate anyone.
God directs us to teach others to do the same. With that being said, love and hate have an enormous amount of meaning that can be explained in a
Theological, Biblical and Practical manner.
II. PART ONE
LOVE
A. Theological Definition The theological meaning of love in the bible is expressed equal throughout. According to the International Standard Bible
Encyclopedia, it describes love as, " Love to both God and man is fundamental to true religion, whether as expressed in the Old Testament or the New
Testament." (International Standard Bible Encyclopedia Online). Therefore, as Christians we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Christians, we are to give and show love to Jesus Christ, others and ourselves. Love is sometimes very hard to express when you have pain
against someone or something. In which, this can turn into hate or dislike. Hate or hatred is the inner most pain or anguish you have towards
someone or something. When you at this point you need to turn it to God and ask for help with those feelings. Each feeling, whether it be love or
hate comes from a source like good and evil. This comparison is just like God and Satan. God loves all and shows it daily to us, where Satan is the
opposite. He demonstrates how to motivate us with burdensome and struggles. We need always to remember that those inner thoughts or feelings are
sinful. It says in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him should not die but
have eternal life" (American Bible Society, 954). Apply Gods word to your lives and accept the hatred from within and turn it into love from

The Love/Hate Relationship
To understand the love/hate relationship Americans have with politics and the government we must examine some of the events that lead us to this
point. It seems like people have always found a reason to be dissatisfied with those chosen to lead them. Furthermore, this discontent can be traced all
the way back to before the Revolutionary War. Although, early Americans, especially during the 18th and 19th centuries were very passionate about
our governmental structure and their level of political participation. In fact, during the late 1800's some 78 percent of the nation's eligible voters were
politically active on some level. Yet, in 2012, only 52 percent of eligible voters participated in the electoral process. This is a staggering

The Relationship Between Love And Hate In Othello Essay
"The Relationship Between Love and Hate in Othello"
A.C. Bradley describes Othello as "by far the most romantic figure among Shakespeare's heroes"(Shakespearean Tragedy, 1). This is an unusual
description of a man who murders his own wife. However, Othello's feelings of hate for Desdemona started as an overwhelming love for her when their
relationship began. This transformation from love to hate also inflicted the characters Iago and Roderigo and like Othello their hatred resulted in the
murder of innocent people. Roderigo's love for Desdemona was transformed into hate towards any man that he thought was loved by her. Iago's love
for his job and his wife, Emilia changed into a destructive hatred of Cassio and Othello. As a result of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Roderigo pays Iago for this false hope that he will be with Desdemona (1162). When he believes he is getting closer to being with her, however, Iago
tells him that it might not happen because Desdemona is in love with Cassio (1169–70). Roderigo is greatly angered by this and resolves to do what it
takes to stop Cassio from getting Desdemona even if it means taking his life. His attempt to kill Cassio, however, is unsuccessful, and instead he is the
one injured (1175). Roderigo is no longer consumed with thoughts of being with Desdemona. Instead he is consumed with feelings of hatred toward
those who might have her love and attention.
Othello had a deep love for Desdemona in the beginning of the play.
In Act II Scene I he tells her, "It gives me wonder great as my content to see you here before me. O my soul's joy!" and " If it were now to die,
В‘Twere now to be most happy" (Shakespeare 1168–69). Othello implies that his life was in chaos before he met Desdemona (1186). Othello,
however, is also very insecure of Desdemona's love for him (Mabillard 1). He doesn't understand why she would go against her father and her
society by marrying a man that is black (1). The only reason that he can come up with is that she married him for his courageous journeys (1). In Act
I scene iii he explains to the Duke, "She lov'd me for the dangers I had pass'd" (Shakespeare 1157). In Act III scene ii he tries to put his doubts to rest

Persuasive Essay On The Road
It is often considered a rite of passage when you become old enough to drive. A momentous trip to the Department of Motor Vehicles and you can
now bask in all the glory that having a license allows. There is almost a countdown clock clicking away the time that must pass before you can
make this a reality. A sleepless night is almost a guarantee on the night before you make that trek. I however, was an exception to this trend. Our
family has been more mobile than most my entire life. Being on the road and on the move is something that is common place for me.
Approximately every two years we move to a new place so my father can continue to serve in the military. It was during an eight day trek from
California to Kansas that I realized that it is the winding roads and highways that connect our great country. The best way to see this country is clearly
to travel on these roads is with a vehicle of some kind. Up until my senior year, my mother has been the primary driver for all my activities. Once we
were settled in Kansas I realized it was time to get my license. My father decided to start looking for a vehicle for my brother and me to share. He
spent his weekends scouring the ads. He stumbled upon a truck that looked too good to pass up. This was the starting point of my love hate relationship.
It was a 1986 Ford F–150 4x4 with a 302 electronic fuel injected engine, with a manual 4–speed transmission. It was in the price range my parents
wanted to spend and the ad listed two pages of items that they implied had been restored. We went to check it out on a cold Kansas December
morning. As we pulled through the open gate I got my first view of the truck. I just stood there and stared. The brown and tan large stripes of color
screamed the 80s at me. Two giant CB antennas loomed above the truck bed more than five feet into the air almost waving at me from the brisk
gusts of wind. As I swung around to the back end, I noticed the large cow bell attached to the trailer hitch. I was speechless. I was thankful the
freezing temperatures outside warranted the wearing of a scarf across my face. I opened the passenger door and almost feel backwards in dismay. The
interior completed the country hick feel with

My Parents And Broken Parents

Hate Love Relationship In The Movie Lady Bird
Lady Bird – hate love relationship
"Anybody who talks about California hedonism has never spent Christmas in Sacramento" by Joan Didion. The movie starts with this quote where it
all happens.
Lady Bird is a coming–of–age drama comedy film set in Sacramento, California in the fall of 2002. It is a semi–autobiographical film, written and
directed by Greta Gerwig, a popular indie actress. Given a lot of buzz and critical acclaim, including the Best Picture and Best Director Oscar
nomination in the 90th Annual Awards to air live on March 4th, 2018, Greta shines in her first solo directing debut.
Lady Bird is a wash–out red color dyed hair senior high school student at a suburban catholic school called Immaculate Heart. In fierce defiance to use
her birth name given by her parents, Christine McPherson (Saoirse Ronan) named herself "Lady Bird". Lady Bird is very opinionated, idealistic,
awkward, hypocritical, and endearing typical teenager. She has a difficult relationship with her strong–willed, domineering, hypercritical, and

scene of the movie is when her mother is sewing her dress for the Thanksgiving dinner at Danny's grandmother house. Even though her mother is

Theme Of Love And Hate In 1984
Love begets hate, while hate thrives on the death of love. This relation makes them single most powerful and destructive forces both on their own
and in conjunction. The destructive and repressive qualities are explored in the 1984 by George Orwell. The protagonist name is a middle aged man
named Winston, who lives in a totalitarian society in which most human interactions have been dehumanized, the people are constantly monitored,
and hate is the driving force in society that is in perpetual war. It is WinstonЕ› desire for freedom and human interaction that finds him in an affair
with a young woman named Julia and a mind clouded with rebellious thought. love and hate are used as weapons, as Winston's government creates,
manufactures, and destroys the ideas to manipulate their society. Orwell conveys Love and hate as fickle and unreasonable emotions that carry great
power yet are so easily manipulated and swayed. Love and hate are inherently fickle as they are object of one's mind, and are in a constant state of
change, decay, and fluctuation from person to person. You can not definitively define love, you can only ever know it in one's mind. This
unfortunately leads to a flaw in that love is an idea, an ideal, that can be manipulated as people skew its definition or condition the mind to reassess the
idea and change it. Winston's society is under constant surveillance by dual broadcasting tvs known to them as telescreens, these devices severely
inhibit their action,

Examples Of Racism In The Play Fences
When you look at field of dandelions, you can either see a hundred weeds, or a thousand wishes... It's known as perspective in which, I have learned
that two people can look at the exact say thing and see something totally different. In Fences and "Say yes", both authors reveal that different
perspectives about race create conflict with those that you love.
The overall play Fences, deals with racism in various types of ways. In the play fences the perspective on racism has trickled down from generation
to generation. Firstly before Troy even knew what racism was his father was greatly affected by it. Troy's father was profoundly affected by
slavery during his time of life. Troy said that all his father wanted was for them to learn how to walk so they could work. "The only thing my daddy
cared about about was getting them bales of cotton in to Mr. Lubin," this shows how slavery and racism greatly affected Troy's father. Due to his
father being so caught up in his work he treated Troy and his siblings very poorly, which kind of influenced Troy's views onwhite people.
Troy and his son Cory have a really heavily impacted love hate relationship. Troy and Cory both view racism and white people in various types of
ways. Firstly on page 2 Troy states " Why you got the white mens driving and the colored lifting," this already shows a discrepancy that Troy has
towards white people. Troy views him and his friends unequally to the white people in the society during the time period. Now Troy sees that he has

My Love-Hate Relationship With My High School Principal
Starting my senior year, my high school got a new principal causing a big change. During my senior my principal from freshman to junior year
was fired and a new principal was brought on. I went to a private Jewish school and the way that they bring in money is from tuition and donors,
and the school felt that in order to get more money they needed to bring in a new principal and fire the former one. The reason they felt that they had
to fire Mrs. Grossman, the former principal, was because Mrs. Grossman was perceived as a mean old woman who was out to get everyone, everyone
had a love–hate relationship with her, and because of this it would turn prospective freshman from coming to the school. In reality, Mrs. Grossman did
seem mean at first but that is only in the beginning, in the beginning everyone is scared of her and hates whatever she has to say, but once you get
to know her you realize that she really does have everyone best intention at heart and she only wants to do what's best for you. In order to realize
that about Mrs. Grossman you really have to give it time and get a chance to know her. Incoming freshman didn't realize that in the beginning
because they didn't get to know her, so they would get turned off from the school. The school decided my senior year to bring in Mrs. Gross as

Ted Talk Essay
When it comes to choice it always seems to be a love hate relationship: we hate making them, but we can't live without them. Anyone can all look
back to a time in our lives where they wish someone could just pick for us, or times when we wish there were more to choose from. All Americans
have many choices, and it is such a part of our daily lives that we don't even realize it. Barry Schwartz and Sheena Iyengar's TED talks bring up
interesting ideas about choice, how people deal with them and their affects. They both state that although choice is good, it can also have negative
effects. Schwartz explains what most people believe and experience with choice, while Iyengar shows cultural differences in choice making. Both

The second is the more choices the more likely that the best choice can be made, and the third assumption is that you should never say no to
choice. Iyengard evaluates these three assumptions with various studies where one group is American and the other is another culture. Her
studies help understand why and how Americans make choices in comparison to the rest of the world. Without doubt, Iyengard's studies and
analysis on choice is interesting but Schwartz's was clearer because it easily communicated the message that was more applicable to the public.
Choices are an important part of everyone's lives and the choices we make can reflex who we are as individuals. Choice and the ability to choose
are excellent and can represent a sense of freedom. Schwartz's and Iyengard's analysis on choice focused on the effects of choice in people and
how people react and deal with it. Schwartz's Official Dogma and explanation of how Americans act in response to choice making is the most
relatable to individuals and clearly chows the consequences of too much choice. His analysis can assist to people realize that maybe because we have
more choice doesn't necessarily mean we will make us happier or the best decision will be made. Understanding the consequences of too much choice
can possibly make individuals improve the negative effects it can have and make us happier with our

The Love-Hate Relationship in Sports and Violence
Sports and violence have always sustained a love–hate relationship. We are always trying to find the right balance between safety and aggression.
Similar is the case of violence in NHL. Some insist that violence has no place in the game and should be completely eliminated, while others maintain
that violence has always been an integral part of the game and is necessary for its success. Aaron Wherry in his article "Violently Happy: Why the
NHL Needs to Make Hockey Safe Again for Those Who Appreciate Blood Shed (2007) and Laura Robinson in her article argue that fights in NHL
are acceptable as long as it does not hurts anybody. Laura Robinson also argues that hockey Violence leads to Real–life violence. I believe the same
and support the argument that violence is essential for the success of NHL.
The pro–violence groups argue that hockey is an intrinsically violent sport. Even if close contact with other players, which is a big part of the game,
was taken out of the equation, the players still have to contend with high speed collisions in confined spaces and the danger of getting hit with a stick
or a puck. In this hyper–competitive, violent, environment why is fighting uniquely demonized? Moreover, fighting is also viewed as a deterrent
against 'cheap shots'. It gives the players a chance to police themselves and play an honorable game. In addition to being a deterrent such aggressive
behavior also provides an emotional release that actually prevents things from escalating.

Personal Narrative: My Love Hate Relationship With Writing
With the given introduction assignment, it has brought to my attention my love hate relationship with writing. I find that in the past, writing has made
me feel vulnerable in a way that not much else has. The idea that anyone could read the words I had carefully placed for a grade or judgment quite
honestly scares me. Granted it depends on the circumstance surrounding the said writing, for example, in my junior year AP Language class every

Hate In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet is a name synonymous with the most illustrious and well–recognised plays of all time. Written by easily the most remarkable
playwright of the English language, William Shakespeare, this tragedy portrays the dire narrative of two 'star–crossed lovers' from feuding families
whom are engrossed in a taboo love. Despite often playing as a drama of love, Romeo and Juliet is truly a play that details the complex and bilateral
relationship between love and hate. This relationship without doubt shows that in this context, neither love nor hate could exist without the other.
Romeo and Juliet often allude to the reciprocal relationship between love and hate, it could even be said that the mutual hate their two families share
further intensifies their love. This 'clash' of the two powerful emotions of love and hate ultimately leads to the triumph of love over hate.... Show more

This hinting from the main characters demonstrates just how vital the intense relationship between love and hate is in the play. A key point in the
tragedy is where Juliet states rather bluntly; "My only love sprung from my only hate" (I, v, 138). This candid statement from Juliet exhibits that even
she recognizes the relationship between love and hate. In speaking these words, Juliet apprehends this relationship, and is aware of the fact that without
Romeo (a person of the very house she is supposed to hate), she would not be in love. Simply put, this quote shows that Juliet understands the
relationship between love and hate. It could even be said that the common hate between the two families further intensifies their

Should Minds Be Forced Down The Throats Of Youth?
Every generation has their own ideal of the "perfect American", and each generation seemingly losing the right of free thinking more and more. Our
society is releasing the grip on the freedom to have an opinion that doesn't agree with the minds of others. Minds are being persuaded to think a
certain way in order to have a sense of belonging. Opinions are being forced down the throats of youth in America. Opinions that correspond with
major topics such as race, gender stereotypes, or gender orientation are the topics that people have forced their opinion into the circuit for many years.
Through the generations the right to an opinion has changed a great deal. Going from two major opinions to allowing for everyone to have their own is
how the negative and positives of Americans have evolved. Along with free thinking the change in work ethic is a main change that is shown through
the generations.
Americans have been about to advance with the insight of our grandparents generation by learning through their mistakes as well as their successes.
Personally my grandparents have been the ones to go to great lengths in order to provide the best lifestyle for themselves as well as their children.
They have been positive examples of the way Americans worked hard to provide for their families. Knowing that they weren 't going to be handed
food or money they chose to work for what they wanted to obtain. With their generation being stocked full of hard working, dedicated people it

Summary Of Hate Poem By Julie Sheehan
ANALYSIS: "Hate Poem" by Julie Sheehan is about the hate someone has towards another. Throughout the poem Sheehan expresses her feeling of hate
by describing the feeling with daily actions and her use of punctuation. The purpose of punctuation is to separate or continue sentences. The
punctuation is a representation of the change of emotion throughout the poem and also symbolises the relationship towards her and the other person.
The first part of the poem only uses periods, "I hate you truly. Truly I do", symbolising the end to the relationship. The second is different from the
first part, using both commas and periods, "Layers of hate, a parfait", symbolising that this relationship is still "surviving". In the first part of the poem,

memory of reading books was when I was around 5 or 6 years old. I was sitting on my red beanbag reading a Caillou book, my favorite PBS

did that year. But, writing that essay and seeing that I wasn't an up to snuff writer made me want to better my writing skills. Like Sherman Alexie
when he says, "I'm a good writer who may be a great writer one day. I'm harder on myself than anybody," I also aspire to be a better writer. While in
Greek Mythology we commonly read one or two stories a day and even though the stories aren't true they provided gobs of information and
knowledge. "I often read the bulletins posted on the walls of the school, the clinic, the tribal offices and the post office." Just like Sherman Alexie
in my everyday life I'll occasionally read the newspaper, papers posted above the water fountain and pamphlets that come in the mail. All of those
things fill my brain with knowledge that could help me in the future. Such as, when I write a research paper in class and I need a topic on
something, one of those things I read could easily be my topic. Now in my senior year of high school, taking freshman composition I will see if my
skills have improved and I will also learn what It takes to write at the college

How Does Love And Hate Intertwine
In Emily Bronte's novel Wuthering Heights she conveys that love and hate intertwine; she does this through Heathcliff's relationships with Catherine,
Isabella, and Nelly. Bronte uses Heathcliff and Catherine's relationship to show how hate and love can be felt at the same time. She uses Isabella's
relationship to show how love and hate are not always a two way street. Finally she uses Nelly's relationship to show how quickly love and hate can
flip flop. Heathcliff and Catherine's relationship shows how love and hate intertwine because they both love each other, but also betray each other
many times and even marry other people. Bronte shows this concept when Heathcliff confesses his love to Catherine on her deathbed, and says, "'It is

Nelly expresses this after she has a peculiar encounter with Heathcliff as he reaches the end of his days, she expresses this when she says, "'Is he a

watched him grow to youth, and followed him almost through his whole course; and what absurd nonsense it was to yield to that sense of horror."
In this quote Nelly at first is frightened at how evil and menacing Heathcliff can be at sometimes that she even guesses him to be a monster. Nelly
then quickly corrects this idea by remembering how she has seen him grow up and all of the struggle he has had to deal with such as Catherine
wounding him by marrying someone else. This quote is a great quote because in just 4 lines Bronte shows how a person can both love and hate

Just a few days ago I was joking how much easier life would be if I had the screw you attitude some people live life by, but a role model in my life said
something along the lines I was blown away by. "Hope, the world needs more Hopes we are actually begging for them." It made me realize the

The way that they live their life has no effect on us or the way that we choose to live ours. Like Negros, they don't need to be given special
treatment because of their history, but at the same time they do not need to be hated because of the way they were born. The same goes with the
gays and Lesbians, they don't need a special day just because gay marriage is now legal. But as well, we do not need to talk badly about them because
their feeling for another mate is the same sex. So basically I am in a love hate relationship with today's world. On one hand, we have no reason to go
back and forth between hating people because they chose to live their life the way that they feel like. But at the same time thou–shalt–not be treated
specially. None of this needs to effect what we need to be learning in our classes. You cannot change History, and you do NOT need to dodge certain
subjects because some people are a little tender about them. We need to learn about the slaves, African Americans, Our Presidents and as well as the
women of History. We need the racism, sexism, and Discrimination in the lessons because it is a part of what you read on a day to day basis. We need
to learn about the past, whether it be through the history of Math, Science, History, or English.
So, life and schools should not be shielded from the world and hurtful knowledge.. People think that we can just change a few things here and there
and the problem of people getting offended or hurt will end, but that is not the case. We will not be able to escape this no matter what we hide or try

winning point. Once we returned to the high school my mom was waiting on me in the car. "How was the game? Did you win?" she asked me. The

Love And Hate In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet
Shakespeare's play, Romeo and Juliet, conveys both the qualities of love and hate in the main and subplots. Romeo and Juliet are forbidden lovers
from two rival families, which is the centre focus of the play. The feud forms the hate–filled backdrop of this love story and the play also highlights the
mother/daughter relationship between Juliet and the Nurse, and how this is different to the relationship between Lady Capulet and her daughter.
During this performance of Romeo and Juliet, there are many examples of love and hate explored by Shakespeare.
The main relationship of the play is between the 'pair of star–cross'd lovers', Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet. As soon as their eyes meet, they

As both families are 'alike in dignity', meaning they are both wealthy, the Capulet family has a Nurse who acts like a mother to Juliet. They have a

wormwood of the nipple' and it shows how intimate their relationship was. The Nurse and Juliet have a closer and healthier relationship than Juliet
has with her birth mother. In juxtaposition, Lady Capulet is inconsiderate of her daughter's wellbeing, and she doesn't care about how she treats her
daughter, 'Nurse, where's my daughter? Call her forth to me' this language displays how impersonal, bossy, commanding and how she lacks intimacy
between her daughter and herself. Lady Capulet acts like she wants to marry off Juliet as soon as possible, 'How stands your disposition to be

superiority. The Capulet family represents both love and hate in the performance of Shakespeare's Romeo and

The Struggle Between Love And Hate In Shakespeare's Romeo...
In Shakespeare's cautionary tale Romeo and Juliet, there is constantly a struggle between love and hate, causing tension throughout the play. But even
the most powerful love simply can not conquer this burning, consuming rage we see surrounding the love. In the end, hate is always the victor of the
struggle in 'fair Verona'.
Firstly, we see how love has conquered hate through Romeo and Juliet's relationship. As Juliet says, it's her "only love sprung from (her) only hate".
This oxymoron conveys how her love has seemingly come from the hate surrounding it, it has survived despite there being overwhelming hate. We see
that this love is also giving them strength. In the 'balcony scene', Romeo says that her love makes him "proof from their enmity". ... Show more content

When Tybalt challenges Romeo to a fight, he uses hateful, condescending language such as "villain" or "my man", attempting to anger Romeo and
provoke him to fight. But Romeo does not rise to the challenge, he chooses to love, as he is obliged to love Tybalt, as he loves Juliet. He responds in
affectionate tones calling Tybalt "brother" and insisting that he "loves (him) more than (he) can devise". This is also use of dramatic irony, as only the
audience and Romeo know of this forbidden relationship. All of the characters are incredibly confused as we see Mercutio believing this is a "vile,
dishonourable submission". This attempt to keep peace failed dismally, as Mercutio chooses to fight. Romeo quickly shifts from love to hate, when
Mercutio is brutally slain, we see him choosing to have "fire eyed fury be (his) conduct". His metaphor emphasise how burning, unstoppable and
enraged he is at Tybalt. His view of love has shifted, ridding his love of Juliet temporarily to choose hate. He blames love instead of praising it, saying
it "hast made (him) effeminate" and "weakened valour's shield". This words have negative connotations of being weak, timid and powerless, and so the
hate surrounding the small love pushed Romeo to choose hate instead. The love just couldn't beat the hate in this

My Personal Narrative Of My Life

  • 1. My Personal Narrative Of My Life My personal Narrative The date was October 8, 2014, 2 days after my birthday. One of the realest quotes I heard was "Don't trust a soul" and i should have listened. It started out as any other day, mom was mad me for one reason or another, dad was sitting on the couch like always playing the "Call of Duty". I was a Saturday so of course I tried to sleep in but my dad love playing his game with the sound on high it really out under my skin. Think about it you 're sleeping in your bed and all of a sudden you hear "POW! POW! POW!" you're going to get pretty irritated but i was use to it. Anyways my dad had no job and if you saw him he was either over his friends house, sleep, arguing with my mom or smoking stuff I shouldn 't say right now. My... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I didn 't find it weird or strange that that one friend didn 't text me, I figured she was probably busy. That friend name was Kim. Kim was one of those that told her honest opinion about everything and get got really irritating. Anyways as I was laying down my phone lit up which meant I got a Snapchat message. It was Kim, I assumed that she was probably going to say something like "Stop laying there and get up and take some medicine" so I wait a little to read it. When I finally read my whole mood changed she said "I don 't care that you hate me me because honestly I feel like your fake"" I am clearly annoyed because nothing I was feeling was because of her or direct towards her. But my nose cringed at the word "fake". Me and Kim had a history she had a smart mouth so nobody really liked her so I was really her only friend. I lost friends because they didn 't want me to be friends with her and stuff like that. Anyways I was far from "fake". I.texted her and said "Wait one minute Kim how in the world am I fake" she goes on to say " You don 't talk to me how you talk to your other friends and I don 't need you to be my friend i'm not being you too" at this point I am heated because that was a lie but if I did it was because she was acting like a butt. I took the intuitive to call her and get to the bottom of.it. The conversation starts out going sensitive and intense until it was my turn to talk she kept screaming "fake fake fake" so I started getting loud ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Personal Narrative: My Love And Hate Relationship With... My Love/Hate Relationship with English Class From a young age, I have had an interest in reading and writing. When my mother found out she was pregnant with me, my sister, Kaitlyn, was four years old. Kaitlyn had just begun reading when she found out she would soon have a baby sister. My sister, eager to share her reading skills, begged my mother if she could read stories to me while I was still in the womb. Once I was born, the story–telling continued. I gravitated towards books at an early age, most likely because my sister was reading by the time I was big enough to hold a book. Reading has always been around me. Bright colors caught my attention as a child. If a book had a colorful cover, I wanted someone to read it to me. When I was three years old, I started learning how to read in my preschool class. While learning to talk, my way of telling someone I wanted or needed something was to point. My mother would tell me, "use your words". Because my preschool teacher ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My teacher, classmates, and I would read the Magic Tree House series aloud in class. That series definitely influenced my enthusiasm towards reading at a young age because it made me believe that if I read a book, I would become a character. Surprisingly, my arm never became tired after constantly raising my hand all day to volunteer to read out loud. I was eager to present my reading skills to the entire class. I began reading more difficult books as I went into the fourth grade. The students at Brookland were required to take Accelerated Reader (AR) tests over the books we read. We had to reach an AR goal each nine weeks of school. Which meant we had to read books, take tests over them, and pass them in order to get the points. If you met your AR goal, you were able to go on a fun field trip at the end of the nine weeks. The trips were always to the movies or the water park, so I worked very hard to reach my AR ... • 3. How Do Relationships Turn From Love To Hate In Othello How do relationships quickly turn from love to hate? In Shakespeare's "Othello", Iago seeks revenge on Othello through his relationship. In the play Iago does not get the job he wants, and Othello gets convinced his wife has cheated on him. Love can turn to hate through jealousy, rumors, and lies. Both Iago's relationship to Othello and Othello's relationship to Desdemona have turned from love to hate through jealousy. "'I have already chosen my officer.' And what was he? Forsooth, a great arithmetician," Iago not getting the job he wanted, becomes jealous of Cassio who he thinks does not qualify for the job. The situation gives Iago a reason to hate Othello and strive to get revenge on him. Othello even says "All my fond love thus do I blow ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Descriptive Essay The Wrestling Room As I sit here with my eyes closed, I imagine a tropical breeze. The warm wet air slides over my face. The humidity seems almost heavy enough to crush me. As I take a deep breath, the realization that this is no tropical air comes crashing in. Instead of the refreshing scent of the ocean, or tropical plants, the taste of salt from sweat and a smell of the human body fill my lungs. The daydream is over. A shrill whistle sounds and the voice of coach Chuck booms through out the room, breaking the peace that was comforting the pain in my shoulder and bringing me back to reality. I was not on some humid island paradise, but rather in the explosive atmosphere of the Hotchkiss High School wrestling room. The Hotchkiss ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When I have my workout gear on, I am no longer Adam the senior from HHS. I am between two worlds. The doorway to the wrestling room is the passage to one of these worlds: the world of wrestling. From the outside, I can see my teammates preparing for practice. Some sit against the red padded wall, keeping to themselves and looking rather disgusted with what they will be doing shortly. Others look indifferent, quietly talking with those that look civil around them. Then again, some feel it is necessary to have some fun before practice starts. They wrestle around, pick on each other and make a general nuisance of themselves. I often wonder why those that do that can be so careless in the minutes before such an intense practice, but I think they are just trying to ease the tension of yet another killer work out. From outside the door, I look at the mat. The gray mat is like a motionless tide, daring me to enter its world and I do. As I sit on the rolled mats along the wall and look at the clock. Almost time to get going, only five more minutes to be motionless and lazy. Five minutes before the music starts. The same blaring music day in and day out: Linkin park, Eminem, Metallica. The music that makes you want to scream because you have heard it so much, but makes you work that much harder anyway. His family were very poor and moved from America to Limerick to try and live an easier life. Frank's father was constantly out of a job and never had enough money to support his family. Frank and his father have a very interesting relationship. Throughout the book, Frank constantly changes the way he feels for his father. I want to be a man." He knows his mother is having a hard time and tries his best to do all he can for her, "my mother wouldn't have to be a beggar at the Redemptorist priests' house." When Frank loses his job, he is so upset thinking he has become as useless as his father, "and I can't stop crying now because this was my one chance to be a man and bring home the money the telegram boy never brought from my father." Throughout the book, Frank hints that he would have a different father if he could. Malachy makes Frank furious, especially when he disrespects Oliver's coffin. "I know that Eugene's coffin because Oliver had one like it and I want to cry when I see the black pints on top of it." Frank has so much rage for his father when he can't be found, and has been drinking, upsetting his mother, "O Jesus, I wish I had my strength and I'd search every pub in Limerick. I'd tear the mouth out of his head, so I would." Frank is weak physically but strong emotionally and is extremely dedicated to his family and his beliefs unlike his father. When Malachy was drunk, he would get all the boys out of bed in the middle of the night and make them line up like soldiers, making them swear to die for Ireland. "Where are my troops? Where are my four warriors?" These parts were quite comical but Frank got angry when he made his little brother Michael get up as well. When Malachy moved to England, Frank was ... • 6. Essay About My Birthday Every birthday is supposed to be special and happy right? Wrong. They are for sure memorable, but not necessarily in a good way. Do you ever have an experience that ruins something that you had cherished for so long? There have been lots of times in my life that I have been confronted with situations that changed the way I viewed myself and others, there is one distinct time that I remember abruptly changing my view, and finally learning some very important messages. On the particular day that my eyes were opened, my birthday, I had one of the most confusing, irritating, frustrating days of my life. A day I will remember for as long as I live.Birthdays were an event that I had so dearly cherished before this one, my 7th birthday, after that, they were ruined forever. I woke up to "Happy Birthday" accompanied with breakfast in bed, a family tradition. My mom had asked me earlier that week what I wanted for my birthday breakfast and I had responded with the obvious, the breakfast that everyone in my family asks for, cinnamon rolls. So skip ahead to the next morning when I had just woken up was presented with a plate of pancakes... what? I was confused, I thought, there must be some mistake. Oh. I guess maybe mom didn't hear me when I said I wanted cinnamon rolls, but how could she not? And of all things how did she not remember that I'm not even a fan of pancakes. I thought. • 7. The Bothersome Beauty of Pigeons "The Bothersome Beauty of Pigeons" In the essay, "The Bothersome Beauty of Pigeons," Bruce Ballenger initially compares the street vendors in one of Florence's piazzas to the urban pigeons we are so familiar with. He elogently describes the vendors as marvelous spectacles who add culture and life to urban areas. While they are considered a neusance to a lot of people, they also hold a certain beauty. They are much like the pigeons, and there seems to be a war against both the illegal street vendors and the city pigeon. It is a war where there are no hearts involved. The police almost turn a blind eye toward the illegal act of vending without a liscense, much like the average person tolerates the pigeon. I think that Ballenger's ... • 8. A Defining Moment Essay Many people influenced and events my reading and writing development throughout my childhood from my mother, my elementary librarian, and Sesame Street, to getting my first pair of glasses. We all have defining moments in our lives where we can look back and say, "That moment changed my life." This is the story of the defining moment that changed the way I read and write, and I learned it from a whale! It was the beginning of my seventh grade year. I was about twelve years old and, I guess you could say a nerd. I did well in school so I was placed in the Gifted and Talented program with other nerds in my class. As part of this program we were required to read at a certain level or read a certain number of books each semester. You... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I thought to myself, hey, I like whales. I've read stories about ships and pirates and stuff before. This looks like something I might like. I can still smell the old paper and threaded binding resonating in my mind as I opened the book and scrolled through the pages, soaking in the vibrant illustrations of what would soon become my obsession for the next six months. Happy with my selection and feeling fairly proud of myself, I take the book to the check–out desk. The desk is occupied by the stereotypical librarian. She is an older lady probably in her sixties with gray wiry hair and half square bi–focal glasses that sit on the end of her nose. As I place the book on the counter, she looks down her nose and through her glasses at me with a look of skepticism. Frowning as she speaks, she tells me that maybe I should choose something else. Undaunted, I refuse and ask to check out the book. She gives a few other suggestions but again, I refuse. She wishes me luck as she slides it back to me and I stuff the hefty book into my backpack. I start reading the book and right away it is intimidating from the very first paragraph. I am faced with language and sentence structure I do not understand, what is a bedfellow and why does he carry a purse? Is he gay? Immediately I am second guessing my decision but I am determined to get through this book. It takes me the better part of a week to get through the first chapter. I ... • 9. Human And Alien Relationships : Alien And. Bloodchild By... Human and Alien Relationships in Alien and "Bloodchild" Ridley Scott and Olivia Butler both took the topic of aliens and made it their own. While they have different story lines, there are still distinct similarities, but many differences as well. Ridley Scott took the idea of aliens and with that he created the movie Alien. In this movie, the humans are awakened from their sleep capsules to explore a distress call from an alien vessel. An alien attacks one of the crewmembers and that is when the trouble begins. In Olivia Butler's short story, "Bloodchild", humans had to evacuate their home, Earth, and found refuge with the Tlics. The Tlics then use male humans to incubate and give birth to their young. The aliens from Alien from "Bloodchild" share a general objective of trying to maintain their race, but they have a great deal of diversity at the same time. There are similarities that are seen in the lifespan of men, the process of impregnating the man, and the sense of sexuality throughout the film and short story. The distinction is most obvious when it comes to their characteristics, their mannerisms and their values. More specifically, the portrayal of the two different aliens the film and short story, the relationships between humans and aliens and the perspective of the humans on the incubation of the young. The aliens in the film and the short story are seen in different lights. Scott's film, Alien, displayed one of the crewmembers being attacked by the alien then ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Love And Love Essay LOVE & HATE I. INTRODUCTION As we grow up in life, we grow up with the understanding that we are loved or to give love. Sometimes that love turns into hate depending on the circumstances which it involves. As Christians, we are taught to show and give love to all and not to hate anyone. God directs us to teach others to do the same. With that being said, love and hate have an enormous amount of meaning that can be explained in a Theological, Biblical and Practical manner. II. PART ONE LOVE A. Theological Definition The theological meaning of love in the bible is expressed equal throughout. As Christians, we are to give and show love to Jesus Christ, others and ourselves. Love is sometimes very hard to express when you have pain against someone or something. In which, this can turn into hate or dislike. Hate or hatred is the inner most pain or anguish you have towards someone or something. When you at this point you need to turn it to God and ask for help with those feelings. Each feeling, whether it be love or hate comes from a source like good and evil. This comparison is just like God and Satan. God loves all and shows it daily to us, where Satan is the opposite. He demonstrates how to motivate us with burdensome and struggles. We need always to remember that those inner thoughts or feelings are sinful. It says in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him should not die but have eternal life" (American Bible Society, 954). It seems like people have always found a reason to be dissatisfied with those chosen to lead them. Furthermore, this discontent can be traced all the way back to before the Revolutionary War. Although, early Americans, especially during the 18th and 19th centuries were very passionate about our governmental structure and their level of political participation. Bradley describes Othello as "by far the most romantic figure among Shakespeare's heroes"(Shakespearean Tragedy, 1). This is an unusual description of a man who murders his own wife. However, Othello's feelings of hate for Desdemona started as an overwhelming love for her when their relationship began. This transformation from love to hate also inflicted the characters Iago and Roderigo and like Othello their hatred resulted in the murder of innocent people. Roderigo pays Iago for this false hope that he will be with Desdemona (1162). When he believes he is getting closer to being with her, however, Iago tells him that it might not happen because Desdemona is in love with Cassio (1169–70). Roderigo is greatly angered by this and resolves to do what it takes to stop Cassio from getting Desdemona even if it means taking his life. His attempt to kill Cassio, however, is unsuccessful, and instead he is the one injured (1175). Roderigo is no longer consumed with thoughts of being with Desdemona. Instead he is consumed with feelings of hatred toward those who might have her love and attention. Othello had a deep love for Desdemona in the beginning of the play. In Act II Scene I he tells her, "It gives me wonder great as my content to see you here before me. O my soul's joy!" and " If it were now to die, В‘Twere now to be most happy" (Shakespeare 1168–69). Othello implies that his life was in chaos before he met Desdemona (1186). Othello, however, is also very insecure of Desdemona's love for him (Mabillard 1). He doesn't understand why she would go against her father and her society by marrying a man that is black (1). The only reason that he can come up with is that she married him for his courageous journeys (1). • 13. Persuasive Essay On The Road It is often considered a rite of passage when you become old enough to drive. A momentous trip to the Department of Motor Vehicles and you can now bask in all the glory that having a license allows. There is almost a countdown clock clicking away the time that must pass before you can make this a reality. A sleepless night is almost a guarantee on the night before you make that trek. I however, was an exception to this trend. Our family has been more mobile than most my entire life. Being on the road and on the move is something that is common place for me. Approximately every two years we move to a new place so my father can continue to serve in the military. It was during an eight day trek from California to Kansas that I realized that it is the winding roads and highways that connect our great country. The best way to see this country is clearly to travel on these roads is with a vehicle of some kind. Up until my senior year, my mother has been the primary driver for all my activities. Once we were settled in Kansas I realized it was time to get my license. My father decided to start looking for a vehicle for my brother and me to share. He spent his weekends scouring the ads. He stumbled upon a truck that looked too good to pass up. This was the starting point of my love hate relationship. It was a 1986 Ford F–150 4x4 with a 302 electronic fuel injected engine, with a manual 4–speed transmission. It was in the price range my parents wanted to spend and the ad listed two pages of items that they implied had been restored. We went to check it out on a cold Kansas December morning. As we pulled through the open gate I got my first view of the truck. I just stood there and stared. The brown and tan large stripes of color screamed the 80s at me. Two giant CB antennas loomed above the truck bed more than five feet into the air almost waving at me from the brisk gusts of wind. As I swung around to the back end, I noticed the large cow bell attached to the trailer hitch. I was speechless. I was thankful the freezing temperatures outside warranted the wearing of a scarf across my face. I opened the passenger door and almost feel backwards in dismay. The movie starts with this quote where it all happens. Lady Bird is a coming–of–age drama comedy film set in Sacramento, California in the fall of 2002. It is a semi–autobiographical film, written and directed by Greta Gerwig, a popular indie actress. Given a lot of buzz and critical acclaim, including the Best Picture and Best Director Oscar nomination in the 90th Annual Awards to air live on March 4th, 2018, Greta shines in her first solo directing debut. Lady Bird is a wash–out red color dyed hair senior high school student at a suburban catholic school called Immaculate Heart. In fierce defiance to use her birth name given by her parents, Christine McPherson (Saoirse Ronan) named herself "Lady Bird". Lady Bird is very opinionated, idealistic, awkward, hypocritical, and endearing typical teenager. This relation makes them single most powerful and destructive forces both on their own and in conjunction. The destructive and repressive qualities are explored in the 1984 by George Orwell. The protagonist name is a middle aged man named Winston, who lives in a totalitarian society in which most human interactions have been dehumanized, the people are constantly monitored, and hate is the driving force in society that is in perpetual war. It is WinstonЕ› desire for freedom and human interaction that finds him in an affair with a young woman named Julia and a mind clouded with rebellious thought. love and hate are used as weapons, as Winston's government creates, manufactures, and destroys the ideas to manipulate their society. Orwell conveys Love and hate as fickle and unreasonable emotions that carry great power yet are so easily manipulated and swayed. Love and hate are inherently fickle as they are object of one's mind, and are in a constant state of change, decay, and fluctuation from person to person. You can not definitively define love, you can only ever know it in one's mind. This unfortunately leads to a flaw in that love is an idea, an ideal, that can be manipulated as people skew its definition or condition the mind to reassess the idea and change it. A day I will remember for as long as I live. I woke up to breakfast in bed, a family tradition. On any special day in my family, the holiday "celebrity" gets woken up to "Happy Birthday" of some rendition based on if it is mothers day, fathers day, or really truly a birthday. In Fences and "Say yes", both authors reveal that different perspectives about race create conflict with those that you love. The overall play Fences, deals with racism in various types of ways. In the play fences the perspective on racism has trickled down from generation to generation. Firstly before Troy even knew what racism was his father was greatly affected by it. Troy's father was profoundly affected by slavery during his time of life. Troy said that all his father wanted was for them to learn how to walk so they could work. "The only thing my daddy cared about about was getting them bales of cotton in to Mr. Lubin," this shows how slavery and racism greatly affected Troy's father. Due to his father being so caught up in his work he treated Troy and his siblings very poorly, which kind of influenced Troy's views onwhite people. Troy and his son Cory have a really heavily impacted love hate relationship. Troy and Cory both view racism and white people in various types of ways. Firstly on page 2 Troy states " Why you got the white mens driving and the colored lifting," this already shows a discrepancy that Troy has towards white people. Troy views him and his friends unequally to the white people in the society during the time period. Now Troy sees that he has a lack of equality compared to white people. Did white people feel they had more privilege compared to blacks? It's just a perspective that Troy has about white people right off the back, now he later runs into some conflict with his loved ones. One of the biggest disagreement points in the story revolved around Cory wanting to pursue his dream in college football due to the scholarship he had been offered. "The white man ain't gonna let him get nowhere with that football," said troy, again this quote shows a lack of trust in white people as he believes that one of the white recruiters won't really take Cory and that Cory will never make a living out of it. We are always trying to find the right balance between safety and aggression. Similar is the case of violence in NHL. Some insist that violence has no place in the game and should be completely eliminated, while others maintain that violence has always been an integral part of the game and is necessary for its success. Aaron Wherry in his article "Violently Happy: Why the NHL Needs to Make Hockey Safe Again for Those Who Appreciate Blood Shed (2007) and Laura Robinson in her article argue that fights in NHL are acceptable as long as it does not hurts anybody. Laura Robinson also argues that hockey Violence leads to Real–life violence. I believe the same and support the argument that violence is essential for the success of NHL. The pro–violence groups argue that hockey is an intrinsically violent sport. Even if close contact with other players, which is a big part of the game, was taken out of the equation, the players still have to contend with high speed collisions in confined spaces and the danger of getting hit with a stick or a puck. In this hyper–competitive, violent, environment why is fighting uniquely demonized? Moreover, fighting is also viewed as a deterrent against 'cheap shots'. It gives the players a chance to police themselves and play an honorable game. In addition to being a deterrent such aggressive behavior also provides an emotional release that actually prevents things from escalating. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Minds are being persuaded to think a certain way in order to have a sense of belonging. Opinions are being forced down the throats of youth in America. In Wuthering Heights Bronte romantic love has a happy ending when Hareton and Cathy fall in love. "The intimacy thus commenced grew rapidly, through it encountered temporary interruptions. Earnshaw was not to be civilized with a wish; and my young lady was on philosopher, and no paragon of patience" (Bronte 326). • 32. How Does Love And Hate Intertwine In Emily Bronte's novel Wuthering Heights she conveys that love and hate intertwine; she does this through Heathcliff's relationships with Catherine, Isabella, and Nelly. Bronte uses Heathcliff and Catherine's relationship to show how hate and love can be felt at the same time. She uses Isabella's relationship to show how love and hate are not always a two way street. Finally she uses Nelly's relationship to show how quickly love and hate can flip flop. Heathcliff and Catherine's relationship shows how love and hate intertwine because they both love each other, but also betray each other many times and even marry other people. Bronte shows this concept when Heathcliff confesses his love to Catherine on her deathbed, and says, "'It is hard to forgive, and to look at those eyes, and feel those wasted hands,' he answered. 'Kiss me again; and don't let me see your ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nelly expresses this after she has a peculiar encounter with Heathcliff as he reaches the end of his days, she expresses this when she says, "'Is he a ghoul or a vampire?' I mused. I had read of such hideous incarnate demons. And then I set myself to reflect how I had tended him in infancy, and watched him grow to youth, and followed him almost through his whole course; and what absurd nonsense it was to yield to that sense of horror." In this quote Nelly at first is frightened at how evil and menacing Heathcliff can be at sometimes that she even guesses him to be a monster. Nelly then quickly corrects this idea by remembering how she has seen him grow up and all of the struggle he has had to deal with such as Catherine wounding him by marrying someone else. This quote is a great quote because in just 4 lines Bronte shows how a person can both love and hate someone at the same time proving the them which is love and hate ... • 33. My Hate/Love Relationship With Writing William Stafford writings seem to be often simple. It seemed true that poetry is an act of peace, thoughts, and feelings. In my experience, poetry is a form of written communication between writer and reader. Writing about a topic you like is what makes writing enjoyable. In fact, writing is an act of creativity and it can be very enjoyable. What I enjoy about writing is seeing the world differently and mostly being immersed in the world I've created, and all about creating my own believable world and characters. Writing is the art of discovering what I believe in. Playing what is in my mind on paper, and sharing this knowledge with people. In my opinion writing is the best communication rather than speaking. I personally have a hate/love relationship with writing. I have a lack of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I like psychology because it's the study of mind and behavior and how it uses a scientific method, in other words, it's "common sense." It studies both normal and abnormal behavior, and demonstrates, speculate, modify, and improve behavior. Psychology can be looked at in a number of a different perspective. Additionally, psychology is not an academic subject that exists in classrooms only, or labs. Psychology is a principle that can be seen all around you in any situations. As a result, I developed an eager desire of me to know more about other's self. History is also very important to understanding society and people. History allows us to see how daily life has changed over the years and the events leading up to both world wars help us understand how a small event can lead off a large change. History inspires us and teach us warning signs and help us be better people. That being said, Math is my least favorite, I am sick and tired of math and spending hours finding the "x" that's, in fact, is gone. • 34. Reflective Essay About Love "For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do. Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts, in order to make certain that what you hope for will come true. Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God's promises because of their faith and endurance." Hebrews 6:10–12 I have this love hate relationship for the amount of love I have for people. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We are only a passenger on this earth and our goal is to bring as many people as we can to God. Not to have friends, love, money, orhappiness the Lord may provide that in his timing, but at the end of the day even if we are struggling our mindset should desire to seek after him. Just a few days ago I was joking how much easier life would be if I had the screw you attitude some people live life by, but a role model in my life said something along the lines I was blown away by. "Hope, the world needs more Hopes we are actually begging for them." It made me realize the reality of how open I am and how I let nothing steal my joy. How yes I was struggling, but it was only because God put that care in my life. So many people have trust issues and just shut the world out, but God did not put us on this earth to shut the world out. We are called to love, but not long ago my focus was in a completely other place. I wanted love from the world particularly guys. I did not realize to truly feel loved I had to give my heart to God. In the process of searching for this worldly love I sacrificed a lot of happiness, self confidence, and who I was most days. I conformed to what that boy practically expected out of me and even though I claimed to be myself I was a clone of what they wanted me to be. I did not love people and practically did not love myself. It took hitting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Modern Educashyn: A Short Film A lot has changed over the years. People have become more sensitive over words and over history. It has come to a point where it is almost impossible to go a day without saying something to offend or hurt someone. We have come to schools not teaching lessons, but teaching to avoid offensive topics. In this paper I am writing about "Modern Educashyn" a short film put together by College students about today's Education. There was a point in time when people used slaves: but now there are trying to get more because they are from the slave lines. People saying "Well since I am black that means I have ancestors that were slaves and if you offend me in any way I will have you to jail.". Like Negros, they don't need to be given special treatment because of their history, but at the same time they do not need to be hated because of the way they were born. The same goes with the gays and Lesbians, they don't need a special day just because gay marriage is now legal. But as well, we do not need to talk badly about them because their feeling for another mate is the same sex. So basically I am in a love hate relationship with today's world. On one hand, we have no reason to go back and forth between hating people because they chose to live their life the way that they feel like. But at the same time thou–shalt–not be treated specially. None of this needs to effect what we need to be learning in our classes. You cannot change History, and you do NOT need to dodge certain subjects because some people are a little tender about them. We need to learn about the slaves, African Americans, Our Presidents and as well as the women of History. We need the racism, sexism, and Discrimination in the lessons because it is a part of what you read on a day to day basis. We need to learn about the past, whether it be through the history of Math, Science, History, or English. So, life and schools should not be shielded from the world and hurtful knowledge.. People think that we can just change a few things here and there and the problem of people getting offended or hurt will end, but that is not the case. We will not be able to escape this no matter what we hide or try to get rid of. • 36. Descriptive Essay On A Basketball Game Score! "Lee County takes another point in the volleyball tournament" says the announcer. The team starts to fall apart as we lose our game towards Lee County High School home of the Lady Trojans. The score is 24–14 as we fall behind. While i'm sitting on the bench waiting to sub in with my other teammate I began to feel nervous. What if I mess up the game for everyone. "7 for 40 you may go." says the Ref. I start to play with my hands which is a sign of me getting nervous about something. All the players in Lee County are very serious and aggressive, which is a good thing just not to the extent they are. The whistle begins to blow for the girl on the other team to serve the ball. Right when she hits the ball I noticed the ball was heading straight towards me "Mine mine mine!" I said. My arms extended out into the playing position and I passed the ball to Nicky which is our setter. The setter on the team has a hard position because they constantly hear us call for the setter to set us a ball to hit and they have to be able to get to the ball to receive a second hit. Unfortunately Lee County got the winning point to this game but the next time we play them we will have the winning point. Once we returned to the high school my mom was waiting on me in the car. "How was the game? Did you win?" she asked me. The more I thought about the game it upsetted me even more. "Well we lost." I replied. • 37. Love And Hate In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet Shakespeare's play, Romeo and Juliet, conveys both the qualities of love and hate in the main and subplots. Romeo and Juliet are forbidden lovers from two rival families, which is the centre focus of the play. The feud forms the hate–filled backdrop of this love story and the play also highlights the mother/daughter relationship between Juliet and the Nurse, and how this is different to the relationship between Lady Capulet and her daughter. During this performance of Romeo and Juliet, there are many examples of love and hate explored by Shakespeare. The main relationship of the play is between the 'pair of star–cross'd lovers', Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet. As soon as their eyes meet, they connect and they are infatuated. Shakespeare ... They have a mother/daughter relationship. The Nurse was the carer for young Juliet and she helped her develop into a young woman. The Nurse breast–fed her, 'the wormwood of the nipple' and it shows how intimate their relationship was. The Nurse and Juliet have a closer and healthier relationship than Juliet has with her birth mother. In juxtaposition, Lady Capulet is inconsiderate of her daughter's wellbeing, and she doesn't care about how she treats her daughter, 'Nurse, where's my daughter? Call her forth to me' this language displays how impersonal, bossy, commanding and how she lacks intimacy between her daughter and herself. Lady Capulet acts like she wants to marry off Juliet as soon as possible, 'How stands your disposition to be married?', and Juliet also refers to her mother as 'madam'. The word madam conveys the emotional distance between the two, and her mothers superiority. The Capulet family represents both love and hate in the performance of Shakespeare's Romeo and ... My elementary school education has left a memorable impact on my reading and writing skills. Reading for pleasure has always been enjoyable. Reading in a classroom setting can be dull. Why read about the lifespan of Whales when you can read a thrilling adventure? Writing, like reading, can also be enjoyable when writing for pleasure, but difficult in a classroom setting. Reading has had a place in my life from a young age with two young working parents putting themselves through school, books often kept me busy and quiet. • 39. The Struggle Between Love And Hate In Shakespeare's Romeo... In Shakespeare's cautionary tale Romeo and Juliet, there is constantly a struggle between love and hate, causing tension throughout the play. But even the most powerful love simply can not conquer this burning, consuming rage we see surrounding the love. In the end, hate is always the victor of the struggle in 'fair Verona'. Firstly, we see how love has conquered hate through Romeo and Juliet's relationship. As Juliet says, it's her "only love sprung from (her) only hate". This oxymoron conveys how her love has seemingly come from the hate surrounding it, it has survived despite there being overwhelming hate. We see that this love is also giving them strength. In the 'balcony scene', Romeo says that her love makes him "proof from their enmity". ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Tybalt challenges Romeo to a fight, he uses hateful, condescending language such as "villain" or "my man", attempting to anger Romeo and provoke him to fight. But Romeo does not rise to the challenge, he chooses to love, as he is obliged to love Tybalt, as he loves Juliet. He responds in affectionate tones calling Tybalt "brother" and insisting that he "loves (him) more than (he) can devise". This is also use of dramatic irony, as only the audience and Romeo know of this forbidden relationship. All of the characters are incredibly confused as we see Mercutio believing this is a "vile, dishonourable submission". This attempt to keep peace failed dismally, as Mercutio chooses to fight. Romeo quickly shifts from love to hate, when Mercutio is brutally slain, we see him choosing to have "fire eyed fury be (his) conduct". His metaphor emphasise how burning, unstoppable and enraged he is at Tybalt. His view of love has shifted, ridding his love of Juliet temporarily to choose hate. He blames love instead of praising it, saying it "hast made (him) effeminate" and "weakened valour's shield". This words have negative connotations of being weak, timid and powerless, and so the hate surrounding the small love pushed Romeo to choose hate instead. The love just couldn't beat the hate in this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
