Introduction Software piracy is said to be so profitable in many countries, especially in China. It is even said
that organized criminal groups use the proceeds from software piracy to pay for terrorist actions overseas
(Software Piracy Problem in China). In 2013, a Chinese national was sentenced to prison in the U.S. for
selling more than $100 million worth of pirated software from American companies, including Agilent
Technologies, Inc. from his home in China (Feeley). The effect of software piracy is definitely big for
businesses. $100 million is no small amount, even for giants like Microsoft. Although it will not be enough to
bring down a company, it will still be a loss that will be felt by big companies. All the more that the loss will
be felt by companies who are smaller than Microsoft.
Its Effect on Business In just the world of entertainment in the U.S., the contribution to the U.S. economy is
already $80 billion each year (Scholes). But this is nowhere where it should be. Estimates have it that 750,000
jobs are lost due to online piracy. If the 750,000 jobs are not lost, think of the resulting productivity that will
be generated by those people, and the resulting business they will generate. The cost of the piracy that
happens online is estimated to be about $250 billion each year. Software piracy is also a huge source of loss

`brute force and run over everything attitude' that only a monster truck can possess, in the text.
The `Project' ad explains very straight–forwardly what the software is capable of doing for the readers and
their businesses. What this lacks in excitement is made up for through a very complete description of the
product.
This is appropriate for the intended audience: no–nonsense, no–hassle businessmen. Strangely enough, the
`Monster Truck' ad, in sharp contrast, discusses absolutely nothing about the actual game itself. Instead it
elaborates on other parts of the ad more important to persuading the intended group of people.
The pictures and images are, of course, `everything' to an advertisement.
They retrieve preconceptions from each individual without using words at all.
Consequently, these pictures must express a meaning related to its intended purpose – in this case, to sell the
product. In the `Monster Truck' ad, the first image the reader should notice is the massive blue and yellow
monster truck. Certainly because it is the largest picture, but also because it is seemingly `standing' on its back
tires. My first impression of this picture was one of pure awe. I imagine hearing the

This seems to me as if it is not so much of a new idea but rather continuing to expand on their success in the
services segment. Third is "cloud and nextgeneration data center". The advent of cloud computing could
throttle demand for IBM's high end powerful hardware and software. Oracle and Sun are attempting to
compete with IBM on this new frontier. Naturally the management discussion in the annual report and
financial statements indicates that IBM believes this will be a great growth area for IBM. However, it is not

How I Got An Xbox 360
Growing up I was very active. I enjoyed going outside and playing sports. Most of the time my friends and I
would throw the football, ride four wheelers, or do anything that included being active and moving around.
Then there were days it would be raining and we could not go outside, or it be night time and had to stay
inside. When I could not go outside, I was bored and I complained about being bored all the time. We did not
have much technology items in our house. So, finding stuff to do to entertain myself was a challenge. Then I
started playing video games, I got a phone, and I found out that "YouTube" had come out and that change my
life. I got an Xbox 360 when I was ten. My step dad had a PlayStation and I played it some, but this Xbox 360
was my first gaming console. The first Xbox was released and many people had it, even my cousin. There was
about twenty–five million Xboxes sold (xbox). I never did get to get that first Xbox, but I got the second one
the Xbox 360. The second one was more successful than the first selling over eighty million consoles (xbox). I
would play all night. I beat all the games and then would start over because I did not have Xbox Live, which
is where there is a chance to play with other people online. My friends and I would still go outside and play
sports or do something, but if we couldn't find something to do right away we would go play video games.

As a company, Apple is known throughout the globe for more than their high–quality and revolutionary

After Microsoft released the Xbox, the public rushed to purchase the video game console. Almost
immediately, complaints start to appear about the console. A small percentage of Xbox units were defective as
stated in an article titled, "Microsoft Addresses Report on Xbox Defects," by Shahed Ahmed. Defects in a
small percentage of any products sold happen often. However, another complaint surfaced shortly after the
Xbox was released: the controller was over sized and the button configuration was inconvenient for certain
games. Microsoft quickly addressed this complaint by releasing a redesigned controller that was smaller and
had a more convenient button configuration. The release of the new controller Microsoft is well documented

that a keyboard isn't which leads to faulty metro features such as searching for an application by typing in the
start screen.
Alterations to Windows 8 are minor and the appearances is nearly the same as Windows 7. Some
improvements would be that the ribbon toolbar can be turned off and so the old command bar can be used.

At the time there was no such thing as a home computer. Even being in the epicenter of computer technology,
people didn't have personal computers. Wozniak started building simple computers, mainly just as a hobby
and to have a computer of his own, but Jobs recognized, with the insight that would go on to be his legacy,
that people would want a personal computer. Jobs and Wozniak built the Apple I and started selling it around
town to local computer stores and the like. But by the time they had the Apple I in production Wozniak was
developing Apple II. A much more user friendly machine that boasted a better operating system and could

took over a small project called Macintosh. Jobs spent three years working with the Macintosh project in
