out daily tasks

Symptoms
Mood episodes
Manic episode: Exaggerated euphoria, distractibility, insomnia,
rapid speech, and poor judgment.
Depressive episode: Fatigue, sad mood, appetite changes, loss
of interest/pleasure in life, and thoughts of or attempts at
suicide.
Mixed state: Symptoms of both mania and depression.

Diagnosis
Diagnosed by using DSM.
Distinguish the differences between unipolar-depression/bipolar-
depression, normal euphoria/mania, ADHD, and schizophrenia.
Maladaptive- Doing things in the moment, not thinking through
how it could affect others (spending sprees, indiscriminate sexual
acts, etc.)
Disturbing/Atypical- Episodes can change over the course of a
couple days to a couple weeks in the extremes of those emotions.
Unjustifiable- The person experiencing an episode has no reason
for being extremely happy or sad, they just act upon those
emotions.
