2. Identify why there is a need
for redesign
Identifying the cause for change is the
very best and very first step towards a
solution.
Understanding the need for change can
help shape an acceptable solution

3. Establish a timeline
Someone needs to know what his
timeframe is, since of great essence is well
organised effort if there is perfection to be
achieved.

4. Find out given available
time for the whole process
Some times, a change has to be instant, a
problem has to find a solution fast and with
reliability.
Problem solving can be a very time
consuming practice, yet it may just happen in
a blink of an eye!
Given the time available, more or better
results may or may not emerge!

5. Establish new design based
on:
Needs
Funds available
Time available for implementation/resource
training

6. Maybe in our personal opinion something
is better than something else, but in
reality, that may not be true. So, create
derivatives of the main work and have them
presented as alternatives.
That way, having more to choose
from, makes possible to surface a variant best
suited to specific needs.

7. Discuss which is best design
for implementation
Having some solutions to choose from makes it
easier to conclude what is best suited...

8. Further improve the design
Now that there are more information
regarding the needs and personal opinions, a
new design can emerge from further
modifying the best so far and implementing it
to better suit the needs.

9. Present best solution
Well, in order for an idea to be
implemented, it first has to be accepted...
and this is the idea before this step...
The way something is "served" makes a lot
of difference, so a nice idea or solution has to
be presented in a nice "gift wrap" in order to
maximise chances of being accepted !

10. Implement !
When all lights are green,
be prepared to stick to the plan...
be prepared to stick to the time alloted...
be prepared to stick to the budget...
but also be prepared for last minute changes, so be elastic as well...
