1. JUST BECAUSE IT’S SUMMER...
doesn’t mean the learning stops!
You’ve Been Caught Reading!
Last summer, we really enjoyed receiving all of your postcards from
the exciting places you visited! This year, thanks to an idea Mrs.
Swavely shared with me, Brecknock Elementary School wants to
catch you reading in some fun places throughout our community and
beyond!
“Get Caught Reading is a nationwide public service campaign
launched by the Association of American Publishers to remind people
of all ages how much fun it is to read.”
It’s simple: Snap a photo of our Brecknock students, families, and
friends reading books anywhere! At home, in the backyard, at
Brubaker park, at Boehringer’s, at Hershey Park, at the beach, in the
car... anywhere and everywhere!
Next, there are three easy ways to share your photo with us.
1. Email the photo to brecknockelem@gmail.com
2. Mail the photo to Brecknock Elem., 361 School Road, Denver, PA
17517
3. Bring the photo to Brecknock anytime over the summer or once
school begins!
Don’t forget to include the name(s) of the people included in the photo and the location where the photo was snapped!
I can’t wait to see where reading has taken you this summer!
