4. After looking at different magazine companies and products, we
have come to the conclusion that we will be using Little White
Lies for our ancillary product as we feel we can be a lot more
creative and adapt it to our teaser trailer and make the whole
product feel a lot more complete and immersive for the audience
when they eventually see all three. This is because we can use art
like designs on the cover by drawing it and shading in different
areas, we can add different elements that link to the title, etc.
such as Ivy possibly round the area she is in and lots of other
factors. We also feel we can link it to our USP a lot more and the
theme of the film due to the audience possibly thinking it’s a
police sketch or drawing of a missing girl which really helps in
comparison just to a picture and titles. This is another factor that
helped us to decide, we wanted our audience to really focus on
the piece of art work in comparison to focusing on titles, instead
we will have polaroid's that show different bits of text, this is an
on going theme in our teaser which really helps to develop the
theme of polaroid's and mystery in the products. We chose not to
use other magazines as we feel they do not fit with our film, for
example, Empire is focused to a lot of the “Hollywood”
blockbuster type movies such as Spiderman, Inception, etc. Sight
& Sound is a good option but we feel Little White Lies is focused
more to lower budget and more amateur type film, which ours is.
Overall, we feel we can be very creative by creating a piece with
Little White Lies and look forward to developing our piece.
