Team

• Who to
choose
Team
Members
• Strengths
and
weaknesses
Team
Members
• Hierarchy or
merit system
6. SOLUTIONS TO CHOOSING TEAM MEMBERS
Team Members
• Middle management to lower employees
• Different departments within the organization
Team Members
• Strengths – Some members have strong personalities, work ethics, &
capabilities
• Weaknesses – May not be strong in every aspect of project. Pair with
stronger team member
Team Members
• Chosen based on hierarchy within organization
• Has proven ability to find solutions
7. OPPOSING VIEW
If there are more employees from middle
management they could come up with solutions that
would be suitable for what upper management may
want in the project.
Middle management would know how to better deal
with the lack of resources and have access to other
areas.
Choosing other employees who work on the floor
may have solutions for problems they deal with daily.
They are better suited for the project team because
they can teach other employees they work with.
8. PROBLEMS WITH MOTIVATION/REWARDS
What motivates individuals?
What motivates team as a whole?
Recognition

9. SOLUTIONS TO MOTIVATION/REWARDS
As the saying
goes, money is
the best motivator
This will be in the
form of a raise during
the team members
performance review
10. SOLUTIONS WITH MOTIVATION/REWARDS
Other forms of motivation (from my on
experience)

members

11. REBUTTAL
Not all companies are able to give raises
because of the economy.
Team members should want to see the
project succeed from beginning to end
without any kind of motivation.
12. CONCLUSION
You want to choose an even mix of assertive
and passive team members whose strengths
and weaknesses compliment each other.
Members should come from different areas
within an organization who will work towards a
common goal.
There are times when team members morale
during a project gets low. Project managers
should find different ways to motivate the team
in the best way possible.
