2. More than eight bands will bring live music to enjoy! Salsa, R &B, Reggae and
Soca performances are planned which are guaranteed to bring the best of the
islands to downtown Richmond. Some of the artists include:
Richie Stevens, one of the premier vocalists in Jamaican music, a disciple
of “The Crown Prince of Reggae” vocal style; a dancehall singer with a
rich, soulful voice. An entertainer who shines brightest when he croons his
melodies over an up-tempo, dancehall rhythm. In the early 90s Stephens
was a part of the 2-time Grammy winning act Soul II Soul and had
recorded at Motown.
Frankie Paul, one of Jamaica‟s best-loved and popular dancehall reggae
artists. Born almost blind, he has been dubbed by some as „The
Jamaican Stevie Wonder‟. He has recorded for virtually every
producer/studio in Jamaica.
Anthony Que – a new Carib star on the rise. A singer, songwriter and
performer, he is one of the most promising entertainers of this generation.
Every track highlights his formidable vocal and song writing skills whether
singing a lover‟s rock, reggae, gospel or roots reality style.
