Iceland Is The Best Country
Finding the perfect place to live can be difficult, however your search can come to an end simply by
looking at a different country, Iceland. The best country to live in is Iceland because of how safe it is
and the natural beauty of the whole country. Iceland is located between the coast of Greenland and
Norway. Iceland has a population of around 323,000 citizens; most of the population lives in or
around their capital. There are a couple specific factors, based on practicality and aesthetics, on why
Iceland is known for the best country in the world. The first main factor of why Iceland is the best
country to live is based on the practicality, Iceland is the safest country throughout the world
(Morin). There are two main reasons that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Between how the citizens act to their comfort zones to the statistics on the homicide rates, there is
still the popular topic about guns and how they cause violence all over. In Iceland more than a third
of the population has a fire arm, and even though that is a majority of the population when a crime
does happen in Iceland it is not due to the fire arms (Llana). Iceland has strict restrictions on who is
allowed to carry, and those who are eligible have to go through several tests. Gun control is just one
example of how Iceland is using rules and restrictions on issues that could turn in to a problem. By
taking the issues at hand before they become a problem, they are thinking practical to prevent their
country from violence and crime making their country the safest in the world. The second factor that
makes Iceland the safest is militarism, which is the level of the military. Iceland military is different
than some other countries, it has no standing military force ("CIA"?). Even though the country does
not have a standing military, they are still apart of the NATO, North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
This helps protect their country from war and other terrorist attaches, they can lean on the
coastguard if they need to (Morin). Most would think that with no military that the country would
fall apart and be in war all the time, but with the way that Iceland runs their country that does

Differences Between Countries And Developing Countries
Geographers like to differentiate countries by grouping them into developed and developing
countries. A developed country is a country that has progressed relatively far during time and has a
highly developed economy and advanced technological infrastructure. Some examples of developed
countries are the U.S.A, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, Netherlands and many others. They
are normally the more profound countries that we hear about more often than developing countries.
A developing country is a country that is at an early stage in economic development and has a less
developed industrial base, and a low Human Development Index (HDI). The Human Development
Index is a composite statistic of life expectancy, education, and income per capita indicators and is
used to rank countries into tiers of human development. Having a low HDI means the country has a
low life expectancy, a shorter length of education and the income per capita is lower. Some
examples of developing countries are Brazil, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, India, Afghanistan, and
many others. I plan to bring you into an in depth explanation about the many differences in
population studies between Japan and Brazil. First off, we'll start with a little bit of background
information on both countries. Japan is an archipelago of 6,852 islands in East Asia with a
population of 126,919,659 (July 2015). It has a land area of about 140,728 square miles and a total
area of about 145,913 square miles. It's area can

Countries and their Level of Development: Least...
Countries throughout the world differ in their level of development; they are classified within a
range of the two extremes as either LEDC (Least Economically Developed Countries) or MEDC
(More Economically Developed Countries). The Variety of economies, cultures and people make it
impossible to use a single indicator of development. Geographers use diverse Development
Indicators to compare regions against each other, such indicators include:
LEDCs exhibit the lowest socioeconomic indicators and meet the criteria of poverty, human
resource weakness (nutrition, health, literacy and education) and economic vulnerability.
On the other hand, MEDCs, also known as Developed or Industrialized countries, have high
economic levels and advanced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bad Climate can limit people's engagement in wealth generating activities such as agricultural
practices. LEDCs spend much time, effort and resources in providing food supplies, which does not
help in advancing the development of the country.
Lack of resources and access to safe drinking water are another factors that hinder the development
of countries. The Presence of oil in many of the Gulf countries has pushed their economy despite the
bad climate. Often any resources are sold abroad as cash crops, for instance in Kenya tea and coffee
is grown on the best farmland. Kenya has to spend valuable wealth on importing food.
Additionally, War and political instability in countries (such as Rwanda and Somalia) impedes
development. International companies will most likely avoid investing and expanding their markets
towards countries that are not politically stable. Countries that were once or still conquered by
another country will often have their resources abused without having much of it deployed into their
infrastructure. It can be seen that the developed counties were the first to have a strong army and to
develop weapons and tactics with which they have conquered other civilizations. The undeveloped

Country As A Developing Country
Honestly, one would think that in todays modern world every country should be developed.
However, few realize that there are still many developing countries. Mostly due to ignorance, and
the majority doesn't pay attention to the needs of developing countries. For instance, the only time a
person may think of a developing country is when the see the commercials on television, and
believes that this must be the only issues facing developing countries. Normally, people visualize
those commercials asking for money to feed, or asking for help of some type of medical expenses.
Take the United States as an example, and often this country would release funds to foreign aid
before their own citizens. Which could easily cause tension amongst the government and the
American people. According to, SAE there are about 137 developing countries, and countries that
earns on average 11,905 or less are a developing country. There are many different choices when
comes to picking a developing country. However, the country of Sierra Leone will be the country up
for discussion. Sierra Leone is one example of what the World Bank considers to be a developing
country, and it is in West Africa. As well as, the capital, Freetown, was founded as a home for
reported former slaves. Currently, Sierra Leone has a population of about 6.1 million citizens, and
on average the life span expectancy is 48 years old male, and 49 years old female. However, this
country's most brutal civil war ended in 2002, and

Developing Countries
Developing nations are filled with hope and aspirations of one day becoming a wealthy, dominating,
and influential country. These nations can sometimes be unsafe, difficult to live in, and hard for
workers to earn good compensation for their labor. On the other hand, living in a developed nation
has many upsides. Developed nations are wealthy, which in turn have good infrastructure, labor and
worker laws, and have less crime.
Developed nations have the superior infrastructure. These countries have more bridges that are
better maintained. They also have better highways and roads that are paved with fewer potholes. In
addition, sewers, hospitals, housing systems, and police stations are modernized with sewers having
large pumps pushing the water through to avoid floods. For instance, the city of Miami has initiated
a project aimed towards flood prevention by "raising roads, installing pumps, and water mains and
redo sewer connection" (Flechas, 2017). Hospitals, as well as, police stations have powerful
generators that can power all of their electrical equipment allowing them to still be effective and
serve the population. On the other hand, developing nations are very old–fashioned. They are
sometimes corrupt and because they do not allow outside access from other countries they lack the
knowledge and resources. These countries are not able to create advanced hospitals with modern
equipment and laboratories to treat their patient's conditions. They also lack medical supplies

The Country Of Lagos Nigeria
The video "Lagos/Koolhas" does a great job of portraying the country of Lagos Nigeria which is a
rapidly expanding city with very few resources to actually handle this rapid growth. Much like in
other undeveloped countries these rapid development is resulting in many individuals living in slum
conditions with few options for work. The difference between Lagos and other developing cities is
Lagos is now considered a Mega–city an as of 2014 has a population of 24 million people, making it
the largest city in Africa (Lagos Population 2016). With the population again set to double by 2050
the question that arises is it possible for Lagos to become a sustainable mega city, or will this rapid
development continue to be a problem for years to come?
The video shown in class "Lagos/Koolhas" really brings to light a major problem that is affecting
the majority of the population. With the cities rapid development a majority of the population is
forced to live in some of the worst slums that been highlighted in our course. These people are doing
anything to survive, mostly working in the informal sector, selling whatever they can. Much like
many other growing cities in developing countries a majority of Lagos has been developed with
very little planning, which leads to the development of the slums that a majority of individuals are
living in. These slums are built with whatever material is available at the time, and not suitable for
humans to live in. They are crowded, dirty and unlike

The Country Just Over The Fence By Paul Theroux
"The Country Just over the Fence"
In his essay "The Country Just over the Fence," Paul Theroux describes his trip to Nogales, Mexico.
He begins his essay by illustrating the physical appearance of the wall separating Nogales, Arizona
and Nogales, Mexico. He calls it "an unintentional masterpiece". Theroux feels the wall is somewhat
informal. He discovers that crossing the border into Mexico is not too difficult itself. He marvels
over the appearance of the wall and also the underlying call to action it places on a person, "Do you
go through, or stay home?" Theroux decided he needed to see for himself. After deciding to cross
the border, he met many different people. They told him about the celebrations that used to be held
between the two neighboring towns which are now divided by the wall. Theroux also met people
who had attempted to cross the border illegally into America only to get sent back to Mexico. On his
adventure, Theroux also learned about all the medical tourists who travel to the country for cheaper
treatments, specifically dentistry. I am interested in discussing Theroux's presentation of the his
decision to cross the border, the people he met, and the medical tourism Nogales, Mexico draws in.
At the beginning of his essay, Theroux is at the crossing point between Nogales, Arizona and
Nogales, Mexico. He tells of a soldier guarding the entrance who gave a slightly defensive answer
when our author asked why he hasn't visited Nogales, Mexico himself when it's

The lyrics came from the writer's soul. These old–timey songwriters used their real life events that
they had experienced personally to write their songs. Back in the ole days, songs told stories that
had true meaning and feelings behind them. People related to the situations that the songs told.
Whether the song is about life struggles, love, family, or even a good time out drinking with friends,
people felt the connections; this is what catches the attention of their listeners. People do not relate
to the music sang today. The songs tell stories about doing drugs and shooting one another up. Fans
want to be able to relate to the lyrics and artists. For instance, Johnny Cash is a man who many
people felt they had a bond with because the lyrics of his songs and the way he performed them with
such passion. Most of his songs were about the rough life he had endured. Johnny Cash had been
through about every predicament a person could go through. Like the loss of his brother at a very
young age, an abusive father in his home life, a failing marriage because of his affair, and his
constant struggle with a drug problem. No matter what situation a person may be going through,
almost everyone who listens to his albums can find at least one song that is similar to the issue they

Country Music Essay
The debate whether commercialism has stripped country music of its authenticity is one that
requires further examination into who ultimately holds the power. The sometimes–drastic changes
made in music leaves people questioning the tastes of consumers when in fact they are the
bystanders of an overpowering industry. Fans are people who buy the albums, go to concerts, and
request songs on the radio, not the execs that market the music, and yet their opinions/tastes aren't
taken into consideration. Fans carry a lot of clout in regards to what they define as commercialism
gone wrong and acceptable country music. Despite what may seem fair, those who are financially
invested in its success drive the commercialization of music.

The feelings of comfort and unity transcend the essence of what country music represents.
However, the power struggle between music executives and artists compromising these markers has
been an ongoing battle. The commercialization of country music tries to implement these markers
while brining to light a new sound for country music, The Nashville Sound. This new sound of
country music introduces background singers, pianos, polished voices and much more sophisticated
types of enhancements. Hank Williams, and Patsy Cline were two artists that thrived within the era
of the Nashville Sound despite the influences of commercialism. The concept of a big country
showcase striped music of its roots and deprived fans of what they really yearned for, simplicity and
genuineness. The simplicity of earlier country music is undermined by the technological interference
of its instrumentation. Simplicity meant one voice with a banjo, guitar, or harmonica
accompaniment. The early country music industry presented the world with an artist just the way he
or she was, no glitz, glamour or frills.
Within the new era of the Nashville Sound it brings along with it overbearing producers and record
labels with their own hidden agendas. "He has cooked up a sound all his own: hot, fierce,
overbearing, full of energy and desire, a sound to jump right out of the jukebox. But Phillips wants
money, a lot of it, and he wants to set the world on its ear" (Elvis: Presliad, 142). What ever

different histories, background, stories and its effect in the aspect of cultural development or cultural
identity. My writing however, will not talk about all of these musical cultures and how they have

Cry, The Beloved Country
Alan Paton's Cry, the Beloved Country takes place during the late 1940's in Southern Africa.
Specifically, in High Place, Ndotsheni, and Johannesburg. It takes place during a time of social
change. There is racial inequality taking place during the late 1940's. The novel shows what it was
like to be living during this time. Cry, the Beloved Country has an urban and crowded feeling for
most of the novel. This novel is written in past–tense, third–person omniscient point of view.
Occasionally, the narrator would shift from character to character. Since it is written in an
omniscient point of view, the reader gains better knowledge on not only the plot; but a better
understanding of the characters, too. It also helps the reader get a well–rounded perspective of what
the setting was like. Cry, the Beloved Country consists of thirty–six chapters that vary in length.
This novel has a simple plot. The characters in the novel are very believable and are revealed simply
by stating their name and a description, or with background knowledge of the character. There are
quite a few characters in Cry, the Beloved Country and their role is to help move the plot along. The
central characters are Arthur Jarvis, Theophilus Msimangu, Absalom Kumalo, James Jarvis, and
Stephen Kumalo.
Stephen Kumalo is a sensitive, humble, and godly man.Sometimes, his anger can get the best of him
but he always apologizes immediately after. He goes through a lot of suffering throughout the novel.

The Environment And The Culture Of A Country
The environment and the culture of another country can greatly affect a business that is operating
internationally in many ways. Since every country has its own culture and values that differ from
country to country, it will affect any business that is attempting to expand internationally, as there
won't only be one culture that ought to be considered before expanding internationally, but quite a
few, and also what might be considered as acceptable in one country, it may not be in another.
Every country has environmental factors that affect it, factors that include political, economic,
social, and technological.
The political factors will affect any businesses that will be trying to expand internationally, as they
mainly revolve around the legislations that apply in that country. In the chance that a country
prohibits a business from making more than 35% gas emissions, the business that is operating in that
country will have to abide to that. Other political factors that the business will have to abide is the
way that the country operates with the employment. A business cannot treat the employees of that
country working for them to suit their needs, but they will have to consider how the country operates
politically. Every country will have their consumer rights, environmental issues and government
taxes and subsidies which will all need to be taken into account, and if the businesses do not abide
then they can get heavily fined.
The economic factors that they will have to

Country Music Openness
"My conjecture, then, is that country music functions in part to reinforce in low–openness
individuals the idea that life's most powerful, meaningful experiences are precisely those to which
conservative personalities living conventional lives are most likely to have access." This excerpt is
from an essay titled Country Music, Openness to Experience, and the Psychology of the Culture
War, in which the author, Will Wilkinson, is arguing that country music is made solely for
conservative ears. Reading such a statement is perplexing. The author is telling the audience that
country music is made for close–minded individuals who seek comfort in the little things in life
because the changing world around them is too frightening.

This song creates yet another heartwarming story by incorporating the values of love and marriage
into its lyrics. For example, the line "So, we planned it all out for the middle of June, from the
wedding cake to the honeymoon, and your momma cried when you walked down the aisle," gives
the audience the classic, lovely vision of getting married. Similar lyrics in the song such as "Yeah
baby I love you a lot" and "I think we've got a real good shot" also tie in the human desire to be
loved by another individual. These specific lyrics are significant because they all appeal to human
nature's yearning for interpersonal connection. This means an audience member can connect to the
lyrics in this song on a deep level. It does not matter what your political alignment may be, human

Evolution Of Country Music
When looking at country music from the early 20th century, to what it is today there has been some
change but most of the concepts have stayed the same. Much of the country from the early times had
music about religion, or hardships that were being faced. This is the same as in the present, there are
many songs about turning to religion to find hope. There are also the instruments that are used, the
bajo, and other stereotypical country instruments are still used to today. This sound that they have,
and that these instruments make are what really categorize the music as country. The sound of
country has been modified but the underlying sounds have stayed the same, and the messages that
are being sung about have been consistent throughout time. This shows that country is very much
like its older counterpart with a few modern changes that are made. ... Show more content on

The music has taken on a slightly more rock twist with drums and electric guitars that wasn’t as

all cone accustomed to listening to. There also seems to be more female country singers now then
what was being portrayed in the readings and the videos, this also changing the sounds of the music
because there are more feminine songs. The hardships that are being sung about in the songs have

The Music Of Country Music
Country Music
Country music. Just saying that word ignites a train of thought to many people to think of the deep
ole' American South and cowboys. What causes people to begin to imagine those things? From the
cowboys featuring in movies to the loud blaring music the hillbilly neighbor plays, country music
has brought its way to people around the world. From the 1920's to now Country music was one of
the first genres in modern music and is still popular today in the United States. The history of
country music is so uniquely characterized that through each part of history it changes massively.
Observing, viewing, and hearing the history of country music is the only way to see how although
other music genres seem to slowly fade away country music has still stayed strong since today.
Country music was not the first name for this genre. In the 20th century when early country music
was developed it was considered "hillbilly" music. This "hillbilly" music was derived from folk
songs and popular songs from the English Scots and Irish settlers from the Appalachians and various
regions in the South. The instruments used in early country music were the fiddle, guitar, the
autoharp and a few others. The spark of country music to the public started in 1923 when country
music was first recorded. In June 14, 1923 a man with a continuing effort to discover new acts and
reach untapped markets, Ralph Peer, found John Carson, a fiddle player, who he decided to record.

Developed and Developing Countries
Have you ever heard of developed countries and developing countries, or first world and third world
countries? Just a basic overview before I go into detail, developed countries have a matured
financial system, this includes the US and Canada, Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan
and South Korea. Developing countries are emerging markets across Asia, Latin America and
Africa. And undeveloped countries are mainly African nations which remain vastly poor, such as
Mali and Somalia. Before I go on about the BRICS countries of the future, I will start with today's
BRICS nations why they are in BRICS. First, the B, Brazil. Brazil has sustained a high GDP growth
rate as its Gross Domestic Product has passed the United Kingdom, but this is a small part of the
equation. Brazil contains many minor oilfields, but this is still not the big picture. Although services
makes up most of Brazil's economy, agricultural products like coffee, bananas and sugarcane have
driven Brazil's growth. Plus, Brazil doesn't have an overpopulation problem, so they can export
coffee, bananas and sugarcane, in fact Brazil is the number one producer of coffee in the world. The
main drawbacks are the extensive crime combined with a corrupt political system.
Next, the R, Russia. Russia is easily the odd one out of the BRICS countries. It doesn't currently
sustain growth at any level even close to the other BRICS nations. But Russia contains huge coal
mines and even more crude oil and natural gas

Snow Country
In the novel Snow Country by Yasunari Kawabata the theme of "wasted effort" is displayed
throughout the novel many times, to label a person's actions such as Komako. Shimamura, the main
character, implies the theme various times when people such as Komako will complete tasks that
have no meaning behind them and he would consider them as being a waste of time and effort. Even
though Shimamura believes that some of Komako's tasks have no purpose behind them, ironically
their relationship grows stronger each time Komako completes a task that is labeled as "wasted
effort." The first time the theme "wasted effort" was mentioned in the novel was when Komako is

Shimamura found out about these rumors because he was gossiping with the masseuse about
Komako. These rumors made him feel like Komako was just selling herself short just to get money,
which was portrayed to the reader when the narrator expresses Shimamura's thoughts after being
told this complicated rumor: "[...] –the expression "wasted effort" again came into Shimamura's
mind. For Komako thus to guard her promise to the end, for her even to sell herself to pay doctors'
bills–what was it if not wasted effort?" (Kawabata 61). This example of Shimamura's thoughts
portrays to the reader that he has feelings for Komako and that he does not think that she should
spend her time doing things that is not worth her while just for money, especially if the man is
dying. It's portrayed to the reader that Shimamura cares about Komako when the narrator explains
an action that Shimamura will pursue in the future: "He would accost her with this fact, he would
drive it home, when he saw her again, he said to himself; and yet her existence seemed to have
become purer and cleaner for this new bit of knowledge" (Kawabata 61–62). This illustrates to the
reader that Shimamura would rather go to Komako about the rumor to see if it is really true, rather
than believing what other people say and spread the rumor even more. This action is portrayed when
Shimamura asks Komako about the rumor and she asks him did he believe it, and he said: "I couldn't
quite believe all of it" (Kawabata 67). This shows Komako that she can have some trust in
Shimamura because he came to her first, and got the real truth. This part in the book also portrays
how Komako and Shimamura grew in their relationship, because they now have trust between them
which is an important key in a

Religion In Country Music
One aspect that I analyzed in country music was the presence of religion. This is an issue that many
sociologists choose to analyze because of its relation to organizations and groups. In country music
there is a strong Christian presence and although it didn't occur considerably in the songs I analyzed,
it tends to be the only religion associated with country music. Religion "Plays a key role in
developing people's ideas about right and wrong" (2015; 75). This sole reason can be a major
influence in many country lyrics, as well as the culture of country music. Country music is not a
religion by any means, but the role of Christianity in the music can have a significant role in the way
listeners determine what is right and wrong. Religion's ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of these tended to have a major reoccurrence in all of the songs. The question I can now answer
is how does country music play a role into the fears and dreams of the listeners. In the lyrics there is
a certain kind of language that the artists use to try and capture an image in the listener's head. In
society, "Language gives mean to the people, objects, events, and the ideas of our lives. If fact,
language reflects and often determines reality" (2015; 30). The reality is that the language in these
songs gives to the listener can give them a dream of finding true love. The language gives hope to
the listener that there is that one person they will love out there, but this also plays into the fear of
heartbreak. Heartbreak was also discussed a great amount and is something that most people tend to
fear. Another way that these songs play towards people's fears and dreams is through social class
and money. While social class is one of the most common issues, the lyrics and videos manage to
give followers the images of how a luxurious lifestyle can lead to happiness and love. This can
definitely have a fear aspect to it as well because of how unlikely it is that a person will fall into the
social class that the songs

Developing Countries Supporting Afghanistan As A...
Introduction
Afghanistan is a developing country; the country has faced troubles and difficulties soon after its
independence. They have had problems in the development of constitutions and regulations. The
selection of leader was an issue and one of the major tasks was to prepare military for the defence as
well as the protection of the state. In order to resolve all these issues, finance was the significant
need.
Despite problems the country is upgrading slowly and gradually. There are numerous countries
supporting Afghanistan in terms of finance and monetary forms, but the support provided by
International Monetary Fund is significant. International Monetary Fund along with World Bank is
serving Afghanistan since its partition and they both have lent a huge sum of finance to the
government so that they can continue with the progress and prosperity of the state.
Considering the financial figures than according to the figures taken out by the Development
Assistance Committee of OECD, an approximate of twenty billion dollars was endowed to the state
in between 1960 till 2002. This is such a huge amount that assisted Afghanistan to rehabilitate its
industries, factories and businesses.

music has taken snowballed into a clash of old school country and pop styles. After the "third
generation" of country music grew past the honky tonk, consisting of a very basic ensemble of
guitar, bass, and vocals, a change was needed to revive the country music industry. Artists had to
create new styles of country, such as Countrypolitan, which aimed towards the mainstream pop
markets. Despite changes in time differences, style, and technological advances, there are parallels
between the songs at the top of the billboards between each generation, the love for the United
States of America. The United States has thrived off of patriotic music ... Show more content on

However, separate from other styles of country music, a piano is present for each one of these songs,
pulling in a softer touch to add heart to the songs. In addition to the piano, Lee Greenwood includes
a violin and group of female background singers, escalating the schmaltz in the performance of the
song. Not only did this song top the US Billboard Country songs, but made appearances in movie
"You've got a Good Love Comin," and was played a t the 1984 Republican national Convention
with president Reagan in audience. The song reappeared twice after the attacks on 9/11, re–releasing
as a single to boost the much–needed morale, and after Osama bin Laden was killed. The spark of
nationalism was noticed by R&B pop–star Beyonce, who released a single cover of the song after
the bin Laden takedown. Waylon Jennings did not receive nearly as much publicity after the release
of his single "The Eagle," however it did make an appearance as 9th on US Billboard Top Country
Albums. Toby Keith has the honor of performing songs like "American Soldier" to troops on USO
tours after the song spent weeks as number one on US Hot Country Songs

Sweatshops In Developing Countries
Todays, when the citizenship is concentrated, sweatshop is becoming a striking issue of
controversies. Especially in developed countries, this problem is always boycotted, but on the other
hand it is an opportunity for people in underdeveloped countries to change their lives. Although
sweatshop is considered as a complex issue with underpayment and underworking environment,
they are beneficial to change the old ideologies, economic growth, and fair working conditions.
Firstly, women choose to work in sweatshops in developing countries because this is their only
source step out of unavailable and unthinkable situation. Women in these countries tolerated
outdated beliefs, such as being restricted to domestic chores and relying on their husbands. Their
lives are always in a vicious circle that they want to escape but do not know the right way, so
working in sweatshops provide women not only chance to create stable income, but also sense of
their own independence. As the writer mentions that with the small income from garment
sweatshop, women in Bangladesh can manage their finances, have their own choice in marriage and
having children (Sachs, quoted in Garyfalakis, para5). Moreover, they have chance to go to school
and gain their special skills. For example, earning $1 to $2 in Indonesia or Bangladesh sounds
unbelievable, but it can help a woman feed her kids and restrict diarrhea disease (Kristof and
Wudunn, 2000). Women in these countries also admitted that even

individuals, organizations and government can contribute to a competitive country. According to Al

Is America A Beautiful Country
Some might say that America is a beautiful country, and that it is filled with freedom and hard work,
but is it truly? After some quick research, I have come to disagree. Even though we are a powerful
country, we seem to be divided amongst our people by some particular reasons. After some further
research, I have come to conclude that these reasons are;Political problems, unhealthy food, and the
fact that other countries have what we have. You may be thinking, "How would this cause someone
to leave the country, and how could some of these reasons separate us as a country?" Well, I think so
for these particular reasons.
Starting off, it is a known fact that politics affect everyday life. So if you have political problems,
than it is going to have a negative impact on everyday life. Not only that, but it covers such broad
aspect of life, and will affect almost EVERY SINGLE PART OF EVERYDAY LIFE. To give an
example, if there are bias and inequality in politics, it will definitely affect the people on the other
end of the sword. Ironically, this does happen, through racism, and mistreatment of the LGBTQ's.
Racism has been a thing in America ever since our freedom from England. From American slavery
to segregation, it was almost considered edicate to dislike and mistreat blacks and mexicans. Now
that segregation is illegal, and illegal working conditions for mexican immigrants isn't as big as a
problem, people think that racism doesn't exist. Well, looking at examples through history, you can't
kill a culture with laws, and this isn't an exception. When I was ten, my youngest sister's friend's
mom wouldn't allow her to go to her party, because she was black. My older sister and father have
both been called derogatory and racist names growing up. A lady opened up her house to victims in
the Las Vegas shooting to help, but she wouldn't allow any blacks or gays. There are also countless
videos online of people being racist. Two that come to mind is when a lady wouldn't let her child be
seen by a black doctor, and one woman called a black man racist names and spit on him. An
epidemic of unarmed young black males have been getting shot and killed by police for almost no
reason. The L.A riots were caused because of

Essay On Country Music
Country music is everywhere in the United States. It is America and people either love it or hate it.
There is usually no middle ground. It accounts for sixteen percent of the nation's radio stations and
is the most common genre played on the radio. There are many different types of country music
around today, including Americana, bluegrass, honky tonk, and contemporary country. Music of all
genres has an evolution through the years. Country music hasn't always been what we recognize it
as today. Country music began in the 1920's in a town in Tennessee called Bristol and was
recognized for its hillbilly and folk format. Country music artists like Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins,
and Jerry Lee Lewis are each responsible for creating this music format that was written mostly
about everyday life. Today country music is recognized as a more modern contemporary version of
music. Today's country artists have started to change their sound in order to appeal to the
mainstream audience in order to make more money. Miranda Lambert said "there's been a shift:
country music is popular now. Every other genre wants to come over to our land." Country music is

Least Depeloping Countries
Least developing countries are the countries which are poor in agricultural that are seeking to
become more advanced economically and socially. Most of the countries are developing, less
developed or Third World countries. However, the big difference in wealth and economic
development amongst Third countries, the concluding are typically characterised by a low average
per capita income, high external debt (to foreign banks and states in respect of loans acquired), a
strong dependance on agriculture and other primary activities. CONTENT A serious problem facing
LDCs is that they lack the money (sometimes the political will) to invest in business–enhancing
enterprises, and to shape up and sustain their physical and transport–related infrastructure. Export
and import activity suffers as a result and the countries feel progressively relegated in the
international trade field. A contributing factor to this phenomenon is that more than 50% of the
population in LDCs is under the age of 15 and therefore not economically active. Yet youths still
require basic services (health care, education, etc.) for which the government has to foot the bill.
Another restriction to the LDCs getting ahead in the international trade arena is that their
governments are often more concerned about getting special treatment from the wealthier countries
than developing ways to create more sustainable industries and become more competitive. Frequent
political trouble in the LDCs also plays confusion

Country Music Problems
During the 1920's, people have argued this to be known as the "Roaring 20's" because of all the new
trends that were created in different areas of culture. One of the biggest reasons for this were the
birth of new music genres such as "Country". People do love country music because of the
meanings behind every lyric of each song, but in reality country music has brought more problems
than happiness to society. Some of the reasons why country music has brought a lot of issues to
society are due to its horrible sound, the nonsense from the lyrics, and the use of weird instruments
such as an autoharp and a banjo. As a result of this combination, the percentage of suicide from all
ages has increased ever since country music was introduced. Suicide ratings have been scaring
scientists all over the world, they believe that people who listen to country music go through 5
different stages that will lead them to their death. This is the biggest problem that country music has
caused throughout the course of its history. Not only has it scared the population of big nations, but
it has also scarred scientists because they have estimated that humanity could become extinct in the
next 30 years. Ever since country music was introduced to society, the percentage of suicide has
increased every year by 3% worldwide. In countries such as Germany, Honduras, Uzbekistan and a
few others have banned country music because it has drastically decreased their population by 25%.

Kumalo shows mercy after seeing his sister weep before him in sorrow and he states "God forgives
us. Whom am I not to forgive?" (61). Kumalo does not stop after saving Gertrude, because he still
wishes to find and bring back his son. He has no leads as to where he is, and every time he gets
closer to finding Absalom, he seems to drift further away. Kumalo was willing to sacrifice as much
time, money, and effort it took to find his son because of the love he had for his family. Stephen
Kumalo encounters a wisdom figure who guides him on his quest. Like Kumalo, Msimangu
dedicated his life to finding Absalom and protecting Kumalo. Msimangu 's character in the novel is
one who gives everything he has back to God. He sees a greater good in protecting Kumalo, and
believes that he is helping an entire community in Ndotsheni. Without his help, Kumalo would have
never left Ndotsheni. In the letter Msimangu told Kumalo "I will give you some advices. I shall also

had never met, simply because he felt it was his Christian duty. After leading Kumalo to Getrude he
leads him to Stephen's brother John to start the quest to find Absalom. In all of this time Msimangu

From its birth in northern Mexico and southern United States in the early 1920s, country music has
continuously brought controversy to the music industry. During the 1950s country music was mostly
conservative in regards to politics. Other topics of country music include love, middle to lower–
class life, and living in the south (Country Music). The country music of the '50s centered around
"Rockability" which was the combination of Rock–n–Roll music with Hill–Billy music (Honky
Tonk). There were traits of nearly every music genre present in the country music of the 1950s.
Those genres ranged from rhythm and blues to jazz (Lagmen). Although country music was not the
most popular music genre in the '50s, the music still influenced the American music culture in the

Theme Of Snow Country
The setting is the basis upon which the story of a novel develops, as it has a tremendous effect on
what happens in the story. In the novel 'Snow Country' by Yasunari Kawabata the setting plays a
pivotal role in highlighting prominent themes such as, Loneliness, Wasted Love and Wasted Beauty.
Snow country is the literal translation of the Japanese title 'Yukiguni'. The name comes from where
the story takes place or rather where the story is 'set'; a village (rural area) on an island in Japan that
receives a huge amount of snow during the season of 'winter'. The title 'Snow Country' it–self
induces a slight hint of the setting that the story would be established on. Snow Country explores the

the loneliness in the characters of the novel.
The setting of the story which is cold and isolated; for instance – "The train came out of the long
tunnel into the snow country. The earth lay white under the night sky" helps to portray the isolation
in the atmosphere at the beginning. Even though Kawabata has chosen a Japanese landscape vibrant
in natural beauty as the setting for a fleeting–love story the isolation of the entire region adds effect
to the theme of loneliness and aids to the characters development. Shimamura isolates himself from
his family and from the world to visit a resort in an isolated region where he has a rather mundane
relationship which is fleeting like snow, with a geisha (Komako) who suffers from Loneliness; it is
evident that the setting influences the development of the character's characteristic. It is interesting
to note that Shimamura possesses striking characteristics; besides being aloof and self–absorbed, he
is capable of making memorable and artistic observations of the world around him – "Along the

Bobbie Ann Mason In Country Essay
The Vietnam War divided the country and led to several americans searching for not only their
identity and morals, but the morals of the nation as a whole. Many people questioned what good the
fighting was for and saw more and more news coverage about the horrible failures of the War
leading to a mistrust in the U.S. government. In Bobbie Ann Mason's book, In Country: The Story of
an American Family, Bobbie Ann Mason tells a coming of age story about Samantha Hughes who
searches for understanding and meaning in a War that has affected her family and country greatly.
Using dialogue and plot construction, Mason successfully examines the changes in morality towards

Lesser develop countries are known for have a largest poverty in their country and to lack on

most lesser developed countries will get official development assistance where development
partners will help them by solely making foreign direct investment and liberalizing their trade and

Education and Country Development
CONSIDER THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION TO A COUNTRIES DEVELOPMENT
Education is the procedure of acquiring knowledge. Everyone would concur that education is the
fundamental means of life. It's objective is to mentally, physically, and emotionally promote the
person by putting them in a better place then they were previously in before. Proper education
comes in many different forms. Granted it is important to study the essential academic courses
including reading, writing, arithmetic, science, and social studies which all will help set a strong
foundation for the student. It is equally just as important that the educator offer substitute
information for the well–being of the student. Education should build not only on the text that lies
within a book, but should also touch base with everyday life. Education is very crucial in a nation's
development, without education societies are facing a strong disadvantage regarding to the
challenges of the world today. Nelson Mandela stated " No country can really develop unless its
citizens are educated". It is possible to say that Nelson Mandela quote was totally correct. Education
is the tool that change one's world, according to human rights education is a universal right that
every individual must have and use. Unlike individuals with an adequate education and therefore
with opportunity to enter in a professional field with the sufficient amount of knowledge to be

Cry, The Beloved Country
Throughout the novel Cry, the Beloved Country, one of the major themes is the contrast between
hope and fear, light and dark. Author Alan Paton juxtaposes theses contrasting ideas by using
literary devices, such as vivid imagery and rich dialogue. Personification, similes, repetition, diction,
symbolism, antitheses, dramatic irony, and allusions also supply the varying moods of the novel and
distinguish the "light" of hope from the "darkness" of fear. This story, set in South Africa, is about
how two fathers, Jarvis and Kumalo, and how their lives intertwine. It is also about how fear and
hope are inseparable parts of life. Kumalo is a black minister in a small, poor town. Jarvis is a richer,
white man that lives on the hill above ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This novel also has many allusions to the Bible. These allusions signify both fear and hope. One
allusion that signifies both fear and hope is on page 62, when Kumalo prays: "Oh God, my God, do
not Thou forsake me. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no
evil, if Thou art with me." This quote is both desperate and fearful, but it is also hopeful at the end
when it says: "I shall fear no evil, if Thou art with me." Dialogue is a compelling device used to
contrast hope and fear or desperation, as on page 108: "Sorrow is better than fear. Fear is a journey,
a terrible journey, but sorrow is at least an arriving." (Father Vincent) And where have I arrived?"
(Kumalo) "When the storm threatens, a man is afraid for his house. But when the house is
destroyed, there is something to do. About a storm he can do nothing, but he can rebuild a house."
(Father Vincent) "At my age? Look what has happened to the house that I built when I was young
and strong. What kind of house shall I build now?" (Kumalo) "No one can comprehend the ways of

Iceland Is The Best Country

  • 1. Iceland Is The Best Country Finding the perfect place to live can be difficult, however your search can come to an end simply by looking at a different country, Iceland. The best country to live in is Iceland because of how safe it is and the natural beauty of the whole country. Iceland is located between the coast of Greenland and Norway. Iceland has a population of around 323,000 citizens; most of the population lives in or around their capital. There are a couple specific factors, based on practicality and aesthetics, on why Iceland is known for the best country in the world. The first main factor of why Iceland is the best country to live is based on the practicality, Iceland is the safest country throughout the world (Morin). There are two main reasons that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Between how the citizens act to their comfort zones to the statistics on the homicide rates, there is still the popular topic about guns and how they cause violence all over. In Iceland more than a third of the population has a fire arm, and even though that is a majority of the population when a crime does happen in Iceland it is not due to the fire arms (Llana). Iceland has strict restrictions on who is allowed to carry, and those who are eligible have to go through several tests. Gun control is just one example of how Iceland is using rules and restrictions on issues that could turn in to a problem. By taking the issues at hand before they become a problem, they are thinking practical to prevent their country from violence and crime making their country the safest in the world. The second factor that makes Iceland the safest is militarism, which is the level of the military. Iceland military is different than some other countries, it has no standing military force ("CIA"?). Even though the country does not have a standing military, they are still apart of the NATO, North Atlantic Treaty Organization. This helps protect their country from war and other terrorist attaches, they can lean on the coastguard if they need to (Morin). Most would think that with no military that the country would fall apart and be in war all the time, but with the way that Iceland runs their country that does ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Differences Between Countries And Developing Countries Geographers like to differentiate countries by grouping them into developed and developing countries. A developed country is a country that has progressed relatively far during time and has a highly developed economy and advanced technological infrastructure. Some examples of developed countries are the U.S.A, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, Netherlands and many others. They are normally the more profound countries that we hear about more often than developing countries. A developing country is a country that is at an early stage in economic development and has a less developed industrial base, and a low Human Development Index (HDI). The Human Development Index is a composite statistic of life expectancy, education, and income per capita indicators and is used to rank countries into tiers of human development. Having a low HDI means the country has a low life expectancy, a shorter length of education and the income per capita is lower. Some examples of developing countries are Brazil, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, India, Afghanistan, and many others. I plan to bring you into an in depth explanation about the many differences in population studies between Japan and Brazil. First off, we'll start with a little bit of background information on both countries. Japan is an archipelago of 6,852 islands in East Asia with a population of 126,919,659 (July 2015). It has a land area of about 140,728 square miles and a total area of about 145,913 square miles. It's area can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Countries and their Level of Development: Least... Countries throughout the world differ in their level of development; they are classified within a range of the two extremes as either LEDC (Least Economically Developed Countries) or MEDC (More Economically Developed Countries). The Variety of economies, cultures and people make it impossible to use a single indicator of development. Geographers use diverse Development Indicators to compare regions against each other, such indicators include: LEDCs exhibit the lowest socioeconomic indicators and meet the criteria of poverty, human resource weakness (nutrition, health, literacy and education) and economic vulnerability. On the other hand, MEDCs, also known as Developed or Industrialized countries, have high economic levels and advanced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bad Climate can limit people's engagement in wealth generating activities such as agricultural practices. LEDCs spend much time, effort and resources in providing food supplies, which does not help in advancing the development of the country. Lack of resources and access to safe drinking water are another factors that hinder the development of countries. The Presence of oil in many of the Gulf countries has pushed their economy despite the bad climate. Often any resources are sold abroad as cash crops, for instance in Kenya tea and coffee is grown on the best farmland. Kenya has to spend valuable wealth on importing food. Additionally, War and political instability in countries (such as Rwanda and Somalia) impedes development. International companies will most likely avoid investing and expanding their markets towards countries that are not politically stable. Countries that were once or still conquered by another country will often have their resources abused without having much of it deployed into their infrastructure. It can be seen that the developed counties were the first to have a strong army and to develop weapons and tactics with which they have conquered other civilizations. The undeveloped ... • 13. Country As A Developing Country Honestly, one would think that in todays modern world every country should be developed. However, few realize that there are still many developing countries. Mostly due to ignorance, and the majority doesn't pay attention to the needs of developing countries. For instance, the only time a person may think of a developing country is when the see the commercials on television, and believes that this must be the only issues facing developing countries. Normally, people visualize those commercials asking for money to feed, or asking for help of some type of medical expenses. Take the United States as an example, and often this country would release funds to foreign aid before their own citizens. Which could easily cause tension amongst the government and the American people. According to, SAE there are about 137 developing countries, and countries that earns on average 11,905 or less are a developing country. There are many different choices when comes to picking a developing country. However, the country of Sierra Leone will be the country up for discussion. Sierra Leone is one example of what the World Bank considers to be a developing country, and it is in West Africa. As well as, the capital, Freetown, was founded as a home for reported former slaves. Currently, Sierra Leone has a population of about 6.1 million citizens, and on average the life span expectancy is 48 years old male, and 49 years old female. However, this country's most brutal civil war ended in 2002, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Developing Countries Developing nations are filled with hope and aspirations of one day becoming a wealthy, dominating, and influential country. These nations can sometimes be unsafe, difficult to live in, and hard for workers to earn good compensation for their labor. On the other hand, living in a developed nation has many upsides. Developed nations are wealthy, which in turn have good infrastructure, labor and worker laws, and have less crime. Developed nations have the superior infrastructure. These countries have more bridges that are better maintained. They also have better highways and roads that are paved with fewer potholes. In addition, sewers, hospitals, housing systems, and police stations are modernized with sewers having large pumps pushing the water through to avoid floods. For instance, the city of Miami has initiated a project aimed towards flood prevention by "raising roads, installing pumps, and water mains and redo sewer connection" (Flechas, 2017). Hospitals, as well as, police stations have powerful generators that can power all of their electrical equipment allowing them to still be effective and serve the population. On the other hand, developing nations are very old–fashioned. They are sometimes corrupt and because they do not allow outside access from other countries they lack the knowledge and resources. These countries are not able to create advanced hospitals with modern equipment and laboratories to treat their patient's conditions. They also lack medical supplies ... • 21. The Country Of Lagos Nigeria The video "Lagos/Koolhas" does a great job of portraying the country of Lagos Nigeria which is a rapidly expanding city with very few resources to actually handle this rapid growth. Much like in other undeveloped countries these rapid development is resulting in many individuals living in slum conditions with few options for work. The difference between Lagos and other developing cities is Lagos is now considered a Mega–city an as of 2014 has a population of 24 million people, making it the largest city in Africa (Lagos Population 2016). With the population again set to double by 2050 the question that arises is it possible for Lagos to become a sustainable mega city, or will this rapid development continue to be a problem for years to come? The video shown in class "Lagos/Koolhas" really brings to light a major problem that is affecting the majority of the population. With the cities rapid development a majority of the population is forced to live in some of the worst slums that been highlighted in our course. These people are doing anything to survive, mostly working in the informal sector, selling whatever they can. Much like many other growing cities in developing countries a majority of Lagos has been developed with very little planning, which leads to the development of the slums that a majority of individuals are living in. These slums are built with whatever material is available at the time, and not suitable for humans to live in. They are crowded, dirty and unlike ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. The Country Just Over The Fence By Paul Theroux "The Country Just over the Fence" In his essay "The Country Just over the Fence," Paul Theroux describes his trip to Nogales, Mexico. He begins his essay by illustrating the physical appearance of the wall separating Nogales, Arizona and Nogales, Mexico. He calls it "an unintentional masterpiece". Theroux feels the wall is somewhat informal. He discovers that crossing the border into Mexico is not too difficult itself. He marvels over the appearance of the wall and also the underlying call to action it places on a person, "Do you go through, or stay home?" Theroux decided he needed to see for himself. After deciding to cross the border, he met many different people. They told him about the celebrations that used to be held between the two neighboring towns which are now divided by the wall. Theroux also met people who had attempted to cross the border illegally into America only to get sent back to Mexico. On his adventure, Theroux also learned about all the medical tourists who travel to the country for cheaper treatments, specifically dentistry. I am interested in discussing Theroux's presentation of the his decision to cross the border, the people he met, and the medical tourism Nogales, Mexico draws in. At the beginning of his essay, Theroux is at the crossing point between Nogales, Arizona and Nogales, Mexico. He tells of a soldier guarding the entrance who gave a slightly defensive answer when our author asked why he hasn't visited Nogales, Mexico himself when it's ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Country music originated in the south of the United States, but it popular worldwide. It has become so popular because almost everyone can relate to the messages the songs send out. Traditional country music touches every generation of listeners. Back in the ole days, songs told stories that had true meaning and feelings behind them. People related to the situations that the songs told. Whether the song is about life struggles, love, family, or even a good time out drinking with friends, people felt the connections; this is what catches the attention of their listeners. People do not relate to the music sang today. The songs tell stories about doing drugs and shooting one another up. Fans want to be able to relate to the lyrics and artists. • 33. Country Music Essay The debate whether commercialism has stripped country music of its authenticity is one that requires further examination into who ultimately holds the power. The sometimes–drastic changes made in music leaves people questioning the tastes of consumers when in fact they are the bystanders of an overpowering industry. Fans are people who buy the albums, go to concerts, and request songs on the radio, not the execs that market the music, and yet their opinions/tastes aren't taken into consideration. Fans carry a lot of clout in regards to what they define as commercialism gone wrong and acceptable country music. Despite what may seem fair, those who are financially invested in its success drive the commercialization of music. According to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The feelings of comfort and unity transcend the essence of what country music represents. However, the power struggle between music executives and artists compromising these markers has been an ongoing battle. The commercialization of country music tries to implement these markers while brining to light a new sound for country music, The Nashville Sound. This new sound of country music introduces background singers, pianos, polished voices and much more sophisticated types of enhancements. Hank Williams, and Patsy Cline were two artists that thrived within the era of the Nashville Sound despite the influences of commercialism. The concept of a big country showcase striped music of its roots and deprived fans of what they really yearned for, simplicity and genuineness. The simplicity of earlier country music is undermined by the technological interference of its instrumentation. Simplicity meant one voice with a banjo, guitar, or harmonica accompaniment. The early country music industry presented the world with an artist just the way he or she was, no glitz, glamour or frills. Within the new era of the Nashville Sound it brings along with it overbearing producers and record labels with their own hidden agendas. "He has cooked up a sound all his own: hot, fierce, overbearing, full of energy and desire, a sound to jump right out of the jukebox. But Phillips wants money, a lot of it, and he wants to set the world on its ear" (Elvis: Presliad, 142). What ever happened ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Cry, The Beloved Country Alan Paton's Cry, the Beloved Country takes place during the late 1940's in Southern Africa. Specifically, in High Place, Ndotsheni, and Johannesburg. It takes place during a time of social change. There is racial inequality taking place during the late 1940's. The novel shows what it was like to be living during this time. Cry, the Beloved Country has an urban and crowded feeling for most of the novel. This novel is written in past–tense, third–person omniscient point of view. Occasionally, the narrator would shift from character to character. Since it is written in an omniscient point of view, the reader gains better knowledge on not only the plot; but a better understanding of the characters, too. It also helps the reader get a well–rounded perspective of what the setting was like. Cry, the Beloved Country consists of thirty–six chapters that vary in length. This novel has a simple plot. The characters in the novel are very believable and are revealed simply by stating their name and a description, or with background knowledge of the character. There are quite a few characters in Cry, the Beloved Country and their role is to help move the plot along. The central characters are Arthur Jarvis, Theophilus Msimangu, Absalom Kumalo, James Jarvis, and Stephen Kumalo. Since every country has its own culture and values that differ from country to country, it will affect any business that is attempting to expand internationally, as there won't only be one culture that ought to be considered before expanding internationally, but quite a few, and also what might be considered as acceptable in one country, it may not be in another. Every country has environmental factors that affect it, factors that include political, economic, social, and technological. The political factors will affect any businesses that will be trying to expand internationally, as they mainly revolve around the legislations that apply in that country. In the chance that a country prohibits a business from making more than 35% gas emissions, the business that is operating in that country will have to abide to that. Other political factors that the business will have to abide is the way that the country operates with the employment. A business cannot treat the employees of that country working for them to suit their needs, but they will have to consider how the country operates politically. Every country will have their consumer rights, environmental issues and government taxes and subsidies which will all need to be taken into account, and if the businesses do not abide then they can get heavily fined. Country Music Openness "My conjecture, then, is that country music functions in part to reinforce in low–openness individuals the idea that life's most powerful, meaningful experiences are precisely those to which conservative personalities living conventional lives are most likely to have access." This excerpt is from an essay titled Country Music, Openness to Experience, and the Psychology of the Culture War, in which the author, Will Wilkinson, is arguing that country music is made solely for conservative ears. Reading such a statement is perplexing. The author is telling the audience that country music is made for close–minded individuals who seek comfort in the little things in life because the changing world around them is too frightening. For example, the line "So, we planned it all out for the middle of June, from the wedding cake to the honeymoon, and your momma cried when you walked down the aisle," gives the audience the classic, lovely vision of getting married. Similar lyrics in the song such as "Yeah baby I love you a lot" and "I think we've got a real good shot" also tie in the human desire to be loved by another individual. • 61. Evolution Of Country Music When looking at country music from the early 20th century, to what it is today there has been some change but most of the concepts have stayed the same. Much of the country from the early times had music about religion, or hardships that were being faced. This is the same as in the present, there are many songs about turning to religion to find hope. There are also the instruments that are used, the bajo, and other stereotypical country instruments are still used to today. This sound that they have, and that these instruments make are what really categorize the music as country. The sound of country has been modified but the underlying sounds have stayed the same, and the messages that are being sung about have been consistent throughout time. This shows that country is very much like its older counterpart with a few modern changes that are made. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The music has taken on a slightly more rock twist with drums and electric guitars that wasn’t as common as in the 20th century style. Today’s country music has a slightly different sound, there is less of the twang that was heard in the early music, and more of a modern pop sound that we have all cone accustomed to listening to. There also seems to be more female country singers now then what was being portrayed in the readings and the videos, this also changing the sounds of the music because there are more feminine songs. The hardships that are being sung about in the songs have changed over time, todays country music is more about relationships and personal hardships while older country music seemed to look more at the hardships the country was ... • 65. The Music Of Country Music Country Music Country music. Just saying that word ignites a train of thought to many people to think of the deep ole' American South and cowboys. What causes people to begin to imagine those things? From the cowboys featuring in movies to the loud blaring music the hillbilly neighbor plays, country music has brought its way to people around the world. From the 1920's to now Country music was one of the first genres in modern music and is still popular today in the United States. The history of country music is so uniquely characterized that through each part of history it changes massively. Observing, viewing, and hearing the history of country music is the only way to see how although other music genres seem to slowly fade away country music has still stayed strong since today. Country music was not the first name for this genre. In the 20th century when early country music was developed it was considered "hillbilly" music. This "hillbilly" music was derived from folk songs and popular songs from the English Scots and Irish settlers from the Appalachians and various regions in the South. The instruments used in early country music were the fiddle, guitar, the autoharp and a few others. The spark of country music to the public started in 1923 when country music was first recorded. In June 14, 1923 a man with a continuing effort to discover new acts and reach untapped markets, Ralph Peer, found John Carson, a fiddle player, who he decided to record. This started the ... Just a basic overview before I go into detail, developed countries have a matured financial system, this includes the US and Canada, Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea. Developing countries are emerging markets across Asia, Latin America and Africa. And undeveloped countries are mainly African nations which remain vastly poor, such as Mali and Somalia. Before I go on about the BRICS countries of the future, I will start with today's BRICS nations why they are in BRICS. First, the B, Brazil. Brazil has sustained a high GDP growth rate as its Gross Domestic Product has passed the United Kingdom, but this is a small part of the equation. Brazil contains many minor oilfields, but this is still not the big picture. Although services makes up most of Brazil's economy, agricultural products like coffee, bananas and sugarcane have driven Brazil's growth. Plus, Brazil doesn't have an overpopulation problem, so they can export coffee, bananas and sugarcane, in fact Brazil is the number one producer of coffee in the world. The main drawbacks are the extensive crime combined with a corrupt political system. Next, the R, Russia. Russia is easily the odd one out of the BRICS countries. It doesn't currently sustain growth at any level even close to the other BRICS nations. But Russia contains huge coal mines and even more crude oil and natural gas ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 73. Snow Country In the novel Snow Country by Yasunari Kawabata the theme of "wasted effort" is displayed throughout the novel many times, to label a person's actions such as Komako. Shimamura, the main character, implies the theme various times when people such as Komako will complete tasks that have no meaning behind them and he would consider them as being a waste of time and effort. Even though Shimamura believes that some of Komako's tasks have no purpose behind them, ironically their relationship grows stronger each time Komako completes a task that is labeled as "wasted effort." The first time the theme "wasted effort" was mentioned in the novel was when Komako is having a conversation with Shimamura about her diary. While Komako and Shimamura talk ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Shimamura found out about these rumors because he was gossiping with the masseuse about Komako. These rumors made him feel like Komako was just selling herself short just to get money, which was portrayed to the reader when the narrator expresses Shimamura's thoughts after being told this complicated rumor: "[...] –the expression "wasted effort" again came into Shimamura's mind. For Komako thus to guard her promise to the end, for her even to sell herself to pay doctors' bills–what was it if not wasted effort?" (Kawabata 61). This example of Shimamura's thoughts portrays to the reader that he has feelings for Komako and that he does not think that she should spend her time doing things that is not worth her while just for money, especially if the man is dying. It's portrayed to the reader that Shimamura cares about Komako when the narrator explains an action that Shimamura will pursue in the future: "He would accost her with this fact, he would drive it home, when he saw her again, he said to himself; and yet her existence seemed to have become purer and cleaner for this new bit of knowledge" (Kawabata 61–62). This illustrates to the reader that Shimamura would rather go to Komako about the rumor to see if it is really true, rather than believing what other people say and spread the rumor even more. This action is portrayed when Shimamura asks Komako about the rumor and she asks him did he believe it, and he said: "I couldn't quite believe all of it" (Kawabata 67). This shows Komako that she can have some trust in Shimamura because he came to her first, and got the real truth. This part in the book also portrays how Komako and Shimamura grew in their relationship, because they now have trust between them which is an important key in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 77. Religion In Country Music One aspect that I analyzed in country music was the presence of religion. This is an issue that many sociologists choose to analyze because of its relation to organizations and groups. In country music there is a strong Christian presence and although it didn't occur considerably in the songs I analyzed, it tends to be the only religion associated with country music. Religion "Plays a key role in developing people's ideas about right and wrong" (2015; 75). This sole reason can be a major influence in many country lyrics, as well as the culture of country music. Country music is not a religion by any means, but the role of Christianity in the music can have a significant role in the way listeners determine what is right and wrong. Religion's ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All of these tended to have a major reoccurrence in all of the songs. The question I can now answer is how does country music play a role into the fears and dreams of the listeners. In the lyrics there is a certain kind of language that the artists use to try and capture an image in the listener's head. In society, "Language gives mean to the people, objects, events, and the ideas of our lives. If fact, language reflects and often determines reality" (2015; 30). The reality is that the language in these songs gives to the listener can give them a dream of finding true love. The language gives hope to the listener that there is that one person they will love out there, but this also plays into the fear of heartbreak. Heartbreak was also discussed a great amount and is something that most people tend to fear. Another way that these songs play towards people's fears and dreams is through social class and money. While social class is one of the most common issues, the lyrics and videos manage to give followers the images of how a luxurious lifestyle can lead to happiness and love. This can definitely have a fear aspect to it as well because of how unlikely it is that a person will fall into the social class that the songs ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Country Music Analysis Music will never stop evolving into various styles and sub–genres, but over the last 30 years country music has taken snowballed into a clash of old school country and pop styles. After the "third generation" of country music grew past the honky tonk, consisting of a very basic ensemble of guitar, bass, and vocals, a change was needed to revive the country music industry. Artists had to create new styles of country, such as Countrypolitan, which aimed towards the mainstream pop markets. Especially in developed countries, this problem is always boycotted, but on the other hand it is an opportunity for people in underdeveloped countries to change their lives. Although sweatshop is considered as a complex issue with underpayment and underworking environment, they are beneficial to change the old ideologies, economic growth, and fair working conditions. Firstly, women choose to work in sweatshops in developing countries because this is their only source step out of unavailable and unthinkable situation. Women in these countries tolerated outdated beliefs, such as being restricted to domestic chores and relying on their husbands. Their lives are always in a vicious circle that they want to escape but do not know the right way, so working in sweatshops provide women not only chance to create stable income, but also sense of their own independence. As the writer mentions that with the small income from garment sweatshop, women in Bangladesh can manage their finances, have their own choice in marriage and having children (Sachs, quoted in Garyfalakis, para5). Moreover, they have chance to go to school and gain their special skills. • 97. Is America A Beautiful Country Some might say that America is a beautiful country, and that it is filled with freedom and hard work, but is it truly? After some quick research, I have come to disagree. Even though we are a powerful country, we seem to be divided amongst our people by some particular reasons. After some further research, I have come to conclude that these reasons are;Political problems, unhealthy food, and the fact that other countries have what we have. You may be thinking, "How would this cause someone to leave the country, and how could some of these reasons separate us as a country?" Well, I think so for these particular reasons. Starting off, it is a known fact that politics affect everyday life. So if you have political problems, than it is going to have a negative impact on everyday life. Not only that, but it covers such broad aspect of life, and will affect almost EVERY SINGLE PART OF EVERYDAY LIFE. To give an example, if there are bias and inequality in politics, it will definitely affect the people on the other end of the sword. Ironically, this does happen, through racism, and mistreatment of the LGBTQ's. Racism has been a thing in America ever since our freedom from England. From American slavery to segregation, it was almost considered edicate to dislike and mistreat blacks and mexicans. Now that segregation is illegal, and illegal working conditions for mexican immigrants isn't as big as a problem, people think that racism doesn't exist. Well, looking at examples through history, you can't kill a culture with laws, and this isn't an exception. When I was ten, my youngest sister's friend's mom wouldn't allow her to go to her party, because she was black. My older sister and father have both been called derogatory and racist names growing up. A lady opened up her house to victims in the Las Vegas shooting to help, but she wouldn't allow any blacks or gays. There are also countless videos online of people being racist. Two that come to mind is when a lady wouldn't let her child be seen by a black doctor, and one woman called a black man racist names and spit on him. However, the big difference in wealth and economic development amongst Third countries, the concluding are typically characterised by a low average per capita income, high external debt (to foreign banks and states in respect of loans acquired), a strong dependance on agriculture and other primary activities. Export and import activity suffers as a result and the countries feel progressively relegated in the international trade field. A contributing factor to this phenomenon is that more than 50% of the population in LDCs is under the age of 15 and therefore not economically active. Yet youths still require basic services (health care, education, etc.) for which the government has to foot the bill. One of the biggest reasons for this were the birth of new music genres such as "Country". People do love country music because of the meanings behind every lyric of each song, but in reality country music has brought more problems than happiness to society. Some of the reasons why country music has brought a lot of issues to society are due to its horrible sound, the nonsense from the lyrics, and the use of weird instruments such as an autoharp and a banjo. As a result of this combination, the percentage of suicide from all ages has increased ever since country music was introduced. Personification, similes, repetition, diction, symbolism, antitheses, dramatic irony, and allusions also supply the varying moods of the novel and distinguish the "light" of hope from the "darkness" of fear. This story, set in South Africa, is about how two fathers, Jarvis and Kumalo, and how their lives intertwine. It is also about how fear and hope are inseparable parts of life. Dialogue is a compelling device used to contrast hope and fear or desperation, as on page 108: "Sorrow is better than fear. Fear is a journey, a terrible journey, but sorrow is at least an arriving." (Father Vincent) And where have I arrived?" (Kumalo) "When the storm threatens, a man is afraid for his house. But when the house is destroyed, there is something to do. About a storm he can do nothing, but he can rebuild a house." (Father Vincent) "At my age? Look what has happened to the house that I built when I was young and strong. What kind of house shall I build now?" (Kumalo) "No one can comprehend the ways of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
