Songs Break Up Songs
Break–Up Songs Throughout Different Genres
What does Paris by The Chainsmokers, Say Something by A Great Big World, and Here Comes
Goodbye by Rascal Flatts all have in common? They are break–up songs. Each in their own way, all
of these songs are about pain and sadness caused by break–ups. Some of these songs are meant to
cause an already sad person to cope with their sadness by pushing them farther into "The Abyss". A
few are meant to touch on the happier memories of the relationship giving someone hope that they
will love again. All of these songs, through their lyrics, structure, and rhythm, are all meant to cope
with a person's sadness that results from a break–up. Paris by the Chainsmokers is a song that
reflects on the happy side of a relationship that is rarely seen in break–ups. The song is essentially
the writer remembering a relationship with fondness. It tells the tale of two young lovers on their
own and in love who eventually break apart. It also touches on happy memories like the lyrics "We
were staying in paris,/ to get away from your parents" (Chainsmokers, 1–2). By highlighting the
highs instead of lows, it shows the listener that they should not be sad about their loss but happy that
they ever got to experience the joy and happiness that most relationships provide. Almost no
relationships end with happiness but this song shows that it is possible to think happily of a
relationship that has ended. This song also uses higher pitched, electronic music to

Rogues, Rascals, And Scoundrels Analysis
In "Rogues, Rascals, and Scoundrels, " Daniel Williams claims that criminal literature in America
has evolved over the last few centuries in three stages. The first stage took place in the seventeenth
century, when executions were extremely popular and attended by thousands of Americans
(Williams 6). Since executions were so popular, it was inevitable that the execution sermons would
not be published (6). The first execution sermons were published as an attempt to make others fear
God, as the narratives would include descriptions of how ashamed and remorseful the criminal was
for their crimes (Williams 8). Self–hatred and sincerity were not unusual in published confessions,
criminals often expressed repentance for their crimes and thanked the ... Show more content on

"The third stage of narrative development was characterized by the appearance of rogues... relying
on cleverness more than force, and motivated more by profits than by passion" (Williams 14).
Rogues defied whatever came in between their pursuit, whether it be law or authority (Williams 14).
In the third stage of criminal literature, the protagonists were all rogues despite of their unlawfully
ways, they "aroused reader sympathy" (Williams 16). Williams described these rogues as "outsiders,
existing apart from the social structure either by choice or by fate" (William 16). He also described
these rogues as "individualistic, opportunistic, self–reliant" as well as "defiant of authority and
entirely free" (Williams 16). William argues that the evolution of these narratives took place in three
stages: the first being the "early execution sermons and final confessions", the second being "the
incomplete narratives of life and, finally the full length rogue narrative" (Williams 17). Williams'
article describes how criminal literature changed from "promoting obedience, [to] encouraged
defiance" (Williams

Little Rascals Day Care Research Paper
In the spring of 1990 in Edenton North Carolina seven people including the owners and the staff
members of the Little Rascals Day Care Center had been arrested and charged with sexually abuse.
The mother Audrey Stever, who was concerned about her 3 year old Kyle reported the details of the
abuse to authority. Seven staff members that worked in the Little Rascals day care were innocently
accused of sexually abusing the majority of the children that attended the Little Rascals day care.
This is a witch hunt because the co–workers were blamed. Put to jail, and judged for a crime they
never committed.
During the opening trial of the little rascals day care therapists and medical doctors had identified
dozens of McMartin childrens as sexual abuse.

Sacrifice In John Steinbeck's Cannery Row
In John Steinbeck's Cannery Row, Steinbeck focuses on traditional society but a society with
different values. His society is the traditional society including class, the homeless, uneducated, but
instead Steinbeck captures the humanity in the homeless, the bums, and prostitutes along with the
uneducated. Steinbeck carries out the riches parts in the characters personalities and isn't defining
them for riches in their bank accounts. He uses friendship and sacrifice as their "humanity scale" in
the novel. Steinbeck uses adventures in the novel for a way of explaining life on a broader scale. In
a general idea, the main characters Mack and the boys are considered failures in society. It states,
"trussed–up men scream at them and call them no–gods,

Rascal: A Fictional Narrative
Once upon a time, there was a baby rabbit named Rascal. He like to explore, but usually ended up
getting himself lost. Today was one of those days. Rascal had been hopping through a vast field, and
realized he wasn't sure which way was back to the road. Rascal knew the field eventually ended, and
if he kept heading straight, he would find it. He started to hop through the grass, focused on hopping
in one direction. The sun was still rising, creating beautiful shades of color in the sky for Rascal to
admire. Rascal wasn't going as fast as he would have liked to, since there were birds flying above
him, and he didn't want them to pick him up for lunch. Every time he saw a bird, he'd stop moving,
hoping the birds wouldn't spot him. Once the bird was out of his sight, he'd start hopping again,
faster than before, as he didn't want to lose too much time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It was a red barn, standing tall compared to everything around it. As he came closer to it, Rascal
noticed a smaller house next to it, presumably where someone lives, or once lived. The two
buildings looked rickety, and as Rascal kept approaching it, he noticed paint peeling off the barn.
Looking at the house, Rascal couldn't tell if there were any lights on or not, as all the window
curtains were closed. The barn door, however, was slightly ajar, so Rascal stopped and thought about
whether he should go in or not. Meanwhile, inside the barn, Chance the Cat was sitting up on the
hayloft. The inside of the barn wasn't as run down as the outside, but there were still some wood
planks that had become weak with rot. The hayloft was not one of Chance's favorite spots, as
Chance was afraid of heights. He was only up there to try and scare away the mice, who liked to

How Does Shakespeare Use Similes In Hamlet's Soliloquy
Thinking before acting allows a person to reflect on his decisions before creating them. In addition,
it allows a person the freedom to choose what is right verse the consequence of the wrong decision.
In Hamlet Act 2 Scene 2, Shakespeare, allows readers to get insight of Hamlet's thoughts and
emotions through his emotional soliloquy. Shakespeare uses similes and a bitter tone to get Hamlet's
disappointment across his readers. Using similes, Hamlet compares himself to a rascal and using a
bitter tone Hamlet shows his disgust towards his thought processes. Using similes, Hamlet compares
himself with a rascal to show his anger towards himself. For example, Hamlet states, "Yet I, a dull
and muddy–mettled rascal, peak.." to express his anger

Essay about Coral Divers Resport
Coral Divers Resort Introduction Mr. Jonathan Greywell is contemplating a business decision in
which there are four realistic options. He is the owner of Coral Divers Resort, located in the
Bahamas on the island of New Providence. He caters to customers looking for a resort package that
includes diving. This case discusses a decline in revenues for the three–year period of 2005–2007.
His options include: selling the resort, partnering with another business, focusing on higher margin
business, or improve his current business to be more competitive. Selling Coral Divers Resort The
most significant reason to sell the business is the declining revenues. However, Greywell would
need to find another means of income such as another ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another factor to consider in making this decision is whether Rascal's is worth the 30%
commission. The fees for families (i.e. more people per room, etc.) when compared to the operation
expenses keep the profit margin the same with the added benefit of a unique identity in the market.
Higher Margin Adventure Diving Adventure diving generates a higher margin and therefore it is a
good idea for Greywell to consider adding it to the mix of dive offerings. However, it cannot be
considered without weighing the risks involved. Coral Divers Resort has an excellent reputation and
careful consideration should be given as to how to protect this intangible asset. Adventure dives
would need specifically trained and experienced dive masters. Simply training existing employees
might pose an additional risk since they aren't too excited about diving with sharks and also lack
experience that might be helpful for safety issues. Within an hour's distance away, competitors are
already a part of this market and bringing in $115 per adventure dive which is $50 above the regular
dive experience. An additional $600 per week can be earned on two days per week with an average
of 6 customers each of those days. Despite hiring or training costs and additional $31,200 in revenue
can be generated, after the expenses for shark food and the special dive suit. Perhaps more adventure
dive business is possible, yet this

The Little Rascals Developmental Psychology
Madeline Palumbo 05/04/2015 Child Development–Movie Paper The Little Rascals, a film made in
1994, depicts the story of boys from ages of 3 to 6, attempting to maintain their title as box–car
derby champions all while continuing their oath to hate women. The main characters, Alfalfa and
Spanky, two best friends, who have opposite opinions on women. The story begins with the boys
meeting in the club house to discuss the derby, while Alfalfa is out on the lake with his love, Darla,
discussing their love for each other. The story unfolds with the clubhouse boys finding Alfalfa
breaking his oath by being with Darla, and the beginning of the sabotage of their relationship. It
does not take any time for things to begin to fall apart for both sides. The boys successfully ruin
Alfalfa and Darla's date, but at the expense of the fate of the clubhouse, which lights on fire due to
the boys shenanigans. Having successfully destroyed Alfalfa's chances with Darla, the boys are now
working on making enough money to build a new clubhouse. The plans to sell tickets to the talent

child, who was ultimately capable of age–appropriate communication, chose not to perform at his
maximum capability because he was shy. They thought he was not competent in speech, however,
his competence was high, but his shyness prevented him from performing at his actual competence

The Influence Of Grime And Trap Music On The Media And...
Grime and trap music have slowly found their way to the top of mainstream popular music culture
over the last decade. Grime is now one of Britain's largest and well known musical styles as it is
taking over from American Hip Hop and can be widely heard over radio stations such as "Capital

Grime has gigantic potential, both commercially and artistically. But it 's always failed to live up to
expectations, and violence is partly to blame. Most promoters now find it impossible to put on grime
in clubs, because grime nights have been unofficially outlawed by the police.
Deja Vu FM, Rinse FM, Flex FM, Freeze FM, Axe FM were some of the first radio stations illegally
held up in high–rise flats in and around London town. which started to play the grime music. Rinse
FM now has a full licence, as do some of the others, but online radio stations are the way forward
now.
Grime began as a London based movement, yet rapidly keeps running into debate when various live
events were disturbed by rival groups and crews, authorizing issues or police interference. Violence
has regularly hidden out of sight, from unpredictable MC Crazy Titch getting imprisoned for murder
in 2005 at the height of his fame, to grime demonstrates getting kicked off the pirate radio station
Rinse FM in December 2006.
Most of grime 's stars, come from deprived London boroughs like Hackney and Newham, where
gun crime is out of control. But it may also have something to do with the sound itself – unlike two–
step garage, its predecessor, grime is intrinsically claustrophobic and furious.

According to USLegal (2016) an expert testimony is, "the testimony made by a qualified person
about a scientific, technical, or professional issue". An expert that is familiarized with the subject of

that class I had never been to Broadway. My partner and I chose to do ours on Wicked which is now
one of my favorite albums to listen to and I hope I get to see in person someday. This assignment

my opinion on music from that assignment was the peer pressure of my class to like rock music and

The Secret Life Of Bees Analysis
Sue Monk Kidd's The Secret Life of Bees and Rascal Flatts "I'm Movin' On", both adequately
demonstrate that a childhood of guilt can result in difficulty forgiving oneself and others.
Overcoming inner conflicts as well as finding a place of belonging and contentment is a result that
comes with self–forgiveness. The Secret Life of Bees is a story of a young girl named Lily Owens
who, throughout the novel, faces immense obstacles. This novel focuses on the blurred memory Lily
has of the death of her mother. In the novel, the reader learns that Lily was only a young child
during the death of her mother and her emotionally abusive father, T. Ray, often tells her that this
death was all her fault. T. Ray implements the idea that Lily was the one to who had accidentally
shot her mother with a gun which causes her to grow up living with the guilt and shame of this
traumatic event that took a very valuable life from her. As the plot intensifies, Lily and her strong–
willed black caretaker, Rosaleen, decide to escape T. Rays sadistic tendencies and abusive behavior.
After deciding to run away from T. Ray, Lily soon finds the Boatwright sisters who had a strong
connection with Lily's mother before she died. While meeting the Boatwright sisters, Lily says, "I
felt like she knew what a lying, murdering, hating person I really was. How I hated T. Ray, and the
girls at school, but mostly myself for taking away my mother" (Kidd 71). This quote shows the

Comparing The Struggles Of Nora In A Doll's House
Enough is Enough: The Struggles of Nora in "A Doll's House" In the Victorian age men were the
head decisions makers for their wives and children's lives. In "A Doll's House" it shows a bundle of
disagreements with Nora and her husband Torvald. Their relationship has pushed Nora to her
breaking point. I argue that in "A Doll's House" by Henrik Ibsen and "I'm Moving On" by Rascal
Flatts, Nora realizes that Torvald has been dismissing her and treating her badly because Torvald has
been calling her very degrading names, Torvald has been very self–centered, and Torvald forbids her
to even leave him, when that is what was best for her.
Nora and Torvald have been married for eight years. He has never excelled at being an exceptional
husband to her, and talks extremely negative to her. Torvald also screeched at his wife, Nora, for

costs involved with new opportunities compared to potential revenues. The alternatives for Coral
Divers includes: Alternative | Cost | Revenue Potential | Family Vacations / Rascals in Paradise | *

My Wish By Rascal Flatts And I Hope You Dance
Success and happiness is something everyone should want in their life. I'm sure most people are
familiar with the songs "My wish" by Rascal Flatts and "I hope you dance" by Lee Ann Womack.
Both of these songs are saying to give confidence and never give up on the the things you love. "I
Hope You Dance" and "My Wish" are very alike in a sense that they are both about going
somewhere in life and being happy, but there are a few differences that are hard to recognize.
"My Wish" is a song recorded by Rascal Flatts, written by Jeffery Steele and Steve Robson. The
song was written for one of Steele's four daughters. What I'm getting out of this song, and what I
believe many others do too is to live every minute like it's your last. "I hope the days come easy and
the moments pass slow" the very first line is about someone who's going somewhere in life. "And
each road leads you where you want to go," (line 2) This is saying that hopefully the path you're
taking in life is the one you want to fulfill. "And if you're faced with a choice and you have to
choose, I hope you choose the one that means the most to you" (line 3–4) What Steele is saying that
if one has to make a choice, it should be the best choice for that person, not what someone else
wants you to do.
"Your dreams stay big and your worries stay small" (line 1, verse 2) Steele is saying to keep your
goals in mind, work towards them and don't let your worries get in the way. The next line "You
never need to carry

Problem: The issue that Coral Divers Resort (CDR) is facing is that it has been unable to
distinguish itself from other resorts in the New Providence, Bahamas region and has been
experiencing declining revenues and unprofitability for the past three years as a result. Other resorts
that have been able to specialize in certain segments of the diving industry have been doing well
over the past years as the industry continues to grow. CDR must look for opportunities in the diving
industry to find a unique niche and gain a competitive edge that will lead to an increase its revenues.

This alternative provides quick cost cutting to reduce CDR’s expenses, provides additional
revenue through the new adventure diving option, and is very easy to implement into its operations.
This solution manages to post a positive profit in the first year of implementation (Displayed in

because the lack of competitive advantage it builds and the intense competition of other shark diving
focused resorts in the area (See decreasing profits from years 2010 to 2011 in Exhibit 3).
Comparison of Solutions: When it comes to judging the alternatives with the most important factors
of profit maximization and competitive advantage, the recommended option to become focused on
family diving vacations is much stronger than the option to specialize in shark diving. (Displayed in

'Oh Rascal Children Of Gaza And Inside Out'
The authors of the poems "Oh Rascal Children of Gaza" and "Inside Out" dissimilarly utilize
flashback in order to demonstrate the theme of appreciating what one may have before it's gone. The
poem "Oh Rascal Children of Gaza," written by Khaled Juma, depicts a flashback of when a certain
group of children were present, expressed through the memories of the narrator. In the beginning of
the poem, the narrator has a distinct negative connotation of the children. The poem opens with the
line "Oh rascal children of Gaza," and proceeds to list all the commotion they caused; "You who
constantly disturbed me with your screams under my window/You who filled every morning with
rush and chaos/You who broke my vase and stole the lonely flower on my ... Show more content on

The narrator of the poem bounces back and forth between what the people of Gaza were
experiencing and what the spectators in Brazil were experiencing. The first change of scenery is
seen in lines 1–4 of the poem, "People inside out/on the streets in their loved ones'/arms people
screaming/in football stadiums" (Beck). The people of Gaza are holding each other because they are
scared of the attack, while the spectators of the World Cup are shouting with passion for their team
to make a pass, or score a goal. Throughout the next few lines of the poem the bombings in Gaza are
illustrated, "there's an old woman/who dies holding/her spoon waiting/ for iftar/which comes but so
do/the rockets" (Beck 10–16). In the latter of the poem, a very significant and moving shift between
the two settings is shown, "a player kisses a trophy/his wife his son/a mother/kisses a dead
child/grief inside out" (Beck 50–54). The contrast between the settings themselves is what really
emphasizes the poem's theme of appreciating what one may have, as the player is kissing his wife,
son, and trophy, out of joy, but the mother is kissing her child who has been killed, out of grief. The
people viewing the World Cup were oblivious to the occurrences in Gaza, which is what Zeina
Hashem Beck was getting across to the

Rascal Flatts Identity
In the memorable way that country band Rascal Flatts puts it, "Life's like a road that you travel on,
there's one day here and the next day gone. Life Is a Highway." As we all know, there's an entrance
and an exit point to every highway. Much like a highway, our lives have a beginning and an end.
Similarly, the structure of the letter "I" has a start and a finish. At a closer glance the alphabet holds
more purpose than for just simply reading and writing. Perhaps simplistic letters hold an unknown
"truth" about the world around us.
Who am I? Who are you? As a person, we are labeled by our identity. According to
Dictionary.reference.com the word "identity" is defined as condition or character as to who a person
or what a thing is. Distinctive traits give personality to individuals. As people living in society, we
tend to leave a trail or a legacy of who we are behind us. There is a paradoxical nature to one's ...

This quote depicts the egocentric and ignorant nature of this man. People who were not of his
"perfect master race of blonde hair and blue eyes" (ushmm.org 1) were to be sent to concentration
camps in the ghetto or killed; most of these people being Jews.
Ignorance. Lack of knowledge or information. A negative attitude about another race or religion is
an example of ignorance. Let that also rest.
Adolf Hitler's selfish and ignorant way of thinking led to a series of mass destruction, war, and grief.
War and grief suggests injustice. So does poverty, starvation, racism, and abuse. Although the
United States of America is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, "one in five children in the
U.S. live in poverty" (Americas Homeless 2:49). This branches off into economic injustice. Living
in poverty is not necessary, not innate, nor is it desirable.
Thus, the typical letter "I" seems very plain. However, when looked at a different perspective, it
sheds a light of

Personal Narrative
May 29 only comes once a year, and for me that day is one to look forward to all year. It marks not
only my birthday, but also right around the end of school and the beginning of summer. This past
year, for my 17th birthday, my friends and I thought it would be a great idea to go to the Rascal
Flatts concert who were going to be in town on my birthday. They surprised me that morning and
picked me up from my house to get breakfast. They had a whole day planned of fun things to do
before we went to the concert. We ended up hanging out out all day, going to Kitaro for dinner, and
then heading off for the concert. We had all bought lawn tickets, and were perfectly fine with where
we were sitting when we got there. In between the opening acts

Rascal Flatt's Song Analysis
Most parents now in today's society want better for their children, and want nothing to harm or
come interfere with their paths. Flatts expresses this in his song," And if you're faced with a choice,
and you have to choose, I hope you choose the one that means the most to you." A report done by
Andres Bendesky and Young–mi Kwon found from their results that variation in an ancient
neuropeptide contributes to differences in parental care (Bendesky Andres, & Kwon mi–Young
2016). As a young child we obviously want to feel loved and protected especially when things aren't
going our way, we need that person to always rely on. Rascal Flatts ensures that no matter what path
his daughter chooses he will be there as her role model to lead the way her heart desires to go. This
correlates to more of an indirect care towards his daughter, because Flatts will protect her on her
journey being the role model he wants her to also become. On the other hand, it could also relate to
direct care if he was physically helping her on the way, showing her what she should do. ... Show

Rascal Flatts makes it clear that he will support the path his daughter has chosen and will continue
to guide her to becoming a better role model just like him. And by doing this, his daughter will have

offspring's have their fathers around. For example, passing off your wisdom to your child and

Creative Writing: A Hunter's Love
Hunter's Safety, Dad's POV My son's Hunter Safety card came in the mail today. He tucked the card
in his pocket. "Perhaps I should keep the card in my wallet," I said. "I put it in my wallet," He says.
"I'm not gonna lose it." I wouldn't let my son hunt until his replacement card comes. I'm not going to
risk it. "If you aren't responsible enough to hold onto things, I'm for sure not going to let you hunt," I
said to him. The clerk behind the counter at Gibson's is getting our small game licenses. Jeff gets to
fill out his own. "I need my Hunter's Safety number, Dad," He says to me. I dig into my wallet and

looks through the scope, to see splotches of blood and dead pieces of prairie dog. "Wow!" He says
in amazement. After a few shots, it gets difficult to find these rascals. I know Jeff may as well be
thinking that. "Good hunters wait," I say to him, "For the right shot." For a while we had waited for
the prairie dogs to come out of their holes, my son waiting for the right shot. The best shot of the
afternoon was given to Bob. There were two prairie dogs that came out of their holes, and Bob gave
them trouble. His shots were extremely steady. 100 mounds away, those two prairie dogs popped up.
Bob shot them both, as they exploded into red sauce. It was gory. I got three today, but none of them
were as good as Bob's' shots. Jeff hit two bushes, 5 piles of dirt, and a cow pie. I don't think he shot
one, at all. But I mean, at least he tried. I told him you can't learn to shoot in the course of one day.

can be stepped on and the Asian Boyz are called "apples" because they can be bitten. These odd
nicknames are just another example of the growing hatred between the two gangs. They are a mere

they will always provide for one another financially and physically. Most gangs really do not care

Fools And Rascals In The Canterbury Tales
Geoffrey Chaucer introduces a wide variety of characters to the readers of The Canterbury Tales.
From a knight to a cook, the pilgrims in the work each have their own story as well as a purpose
with their stories even though that purpose is difficult to find at first. Jill Mann contends,
"Undoubtedly it is true that Chaucer not only persuades us that fools and rascals can be very
charming people, but is at the same time taking care to make us suspect that they are fools and
rascals" (Chaucer and Medieval Estates Satire 192). The charm of these fools and rascals are
amusing at first, but readers must also remember that these characters are still not exempt from their
faults and flaws. Mann's observation pertaining to Chaucer's pilgrims and their corresponding tales
applies most accurately to the Pardoner, the Miller, and the Wife of Bath. The Pardoner lives in such
a state of contradiction that readers can find humor in it. While he centers his preachings on the
Latin phrase "Radix malorum est cupiditas" or Avarice is the root of evil, the Pardoner craves money
and riches most of all (Chaucer 312). His hypocrisy is so ridiculous that the Pardoner becomes a
caricature of a corrupted churchman, selling fake holy relics to fund his sinful greed. Chaucer never
fails to remind the reader of the Pardoner's corruption since the man boasts about his trickery loudly
and proudly. Chaucer shows his audience what a man of the church should not be when they look at
the Pardoner. In his

The Day The Cowboys Quit The Day the Cowboys Quit is a novel written by the highly acclaimed
Texas native, Elmer Kelton, in 1971. Kelton was born April 29th, 1926 in West Texas. Throughout
the early years of his life, Kelton was raised on a ranch and attended college at the University of
Texas to study journalism. Over a span of about fifty years, Kenton was hard at work delivering
western novels, most of which are based in Texas. The novel The Day the Cowboys Quit received
the Spur award in 1971 for the best western novel. This is only one of about forty novels written by

Prosper Selkirk, John Torrington, and Lafey Dodge are on the other side of the spectrum as they are
the antagonists that represent big corporation. Each prominent character adds to the storylines
thickness and to the adversity Hitch must come to face. The story starts out with Hitch, Law, and
Rascal working under Charlie Waide on a cattle drive through Texas. The first conflict in the novel
arises when ownership of a cow is in question between Rascal and a fellow cowboy. This small
infraction ultimately sets the precedent of the story as the ownership of cattle becomes a problem
that builds up to the main conflict. As the story progresses forward, Law is caught violating the
cowboys' set of unwritten laws as he tries to cheat other cattle owners out of cattle, an offense he
would repeatedly make throughout the novel that leads to his death and would add fuel to the main
conflict over cattle ownership. The title of the book is a direct reference to the cowboy strike of
1883, which is represented in the novel when the cowboys left their jobs as cowhands for the cattle
drives and demanded higher wages, hoping to cripple the big cattle companies that hindered the
cowboys with their issuing of strict rules. Going against his own morality and wishes, Hitch takes
half of Charlie's men and leads them to join the strike. Hitch himself is a strong independent man

Essay about Coral Divers Resort Case Study
Problem: Coral Divers Resort is a safe and knowledgeable scuba diving resort with a beach front
location. Over the past three years revenues have declined and Greywell suffered a $5, 174 in losses
in 1994. Coral Divers Resort needs to do something before business gets worse and Jonathan
Greywell and his resort go out of business.
The first option that Greywell has would be to move Coral Divers Resort to New Providence Island
in the Bahamas. The island has a large population, and Nassau the capital has the most developed
tourist attractions in the Bahamas. One of the strengths of moving to New Providence would be the
large tourist population that gathers there. The island also offers underwater movie sets from popular

This plan also has weaknesses. A shark dive would cost $100 for a two tank dive when compared to
a normal two tank dive that would only cost $25–75. Greywell would also have to purchase a
special chain mail suite for the shark feeder at a cost of $10,000. No one on Greywell's staff was
very excited about the shark feeding diving and most of them would have to be replaced. Novice
divers would not be able to take advantage of adventure diving because it requires previous
experience and a high skill level. The other concern associated with adventure diving would be the
safety risks and skill level of younger divers vacationing with their parents. The market for
adventure diving is doing well, but already seems to be saturated with competitors. There would also
be a lack of returning customers because adventure diving would most likely be a one time
experience for most tourists. The third and final option would be for Greywell to pair with Rascal's,
a travel company and target the rapidly growing family market segment. The current average age of
a new diver is 36, and many of them have children. A Rascal's strategy would give busy parents the
option of bringing their children with them on a dive vacation. The Rascal's option offers many
strengths, and promises Coral Divers Resort an increase of 40% for off–season business. Rascal's is
well–established in the industry that would bring a brand

Emerson And Rascal Flatts Comparison
Following your dream
"It is deliverance which does not deliver". (Emerson)Ralph Waldo Emerson's Self–Reliance speaks
about relying on yourself to live the best life you can. He regrets having a lot to say but regretting
not saying any of it and now he only can wonder what would have happened. In Ralph Waldo
Emerson's "Self–Reliance" and in Rascal Flatts' song "What Hurts the Most " it proves that you can't
do things halfway in life because success means not giving up and following your dreams which
leads to happiness, individuality, and satisfaction with your life. This is shown by Emerson's
thoughts about working hard, Rascal Flatts lyrics about overcoming struggle and the value both
place on following your dreams. In Emerson's Self–Reliance he believes that working hard will lead
to success. The first example is "what he has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

have said the those words he saved he could have had his dream.Emerson proves the value on
following your dreams by saying "With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do. He may
as well concern himself with his shadow on the wall".(Emerson) Emerson is saying that if you are
going to follow other people and not have a dream then you might as well as play with your shadow

won't mean anything to you when you accomplish it. In conclusion it Emerson and Flatts are both

Ethos And Logos In 'Rascal Flatts My Wish'

Tom Sawyer: Little Rascal And Proper Southern Gentleman
Tom Sawyer: Little Rascal and Proper Southern Gentleman In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,
Tom Sawyer appears in St Petersburg and at the Phelps' farm as Huck Finn's companion. Though
Tom serves as Huck's partner–in–crime of sorts, the two boys contrast in crucial perceptual and
behavioral aspects: where Tom possesses a love for romanticism and a strict policy of adherence to
societal conventions and codes, Huck possesses a skeptical sort of personality in which he tends to
perceive society's infatuations as frivolous. Tom's presence represents an overlying trend in behavior
for Mark Twain's era wherein individuals adhere to an idealistic social code that justifies the
subjugation of others for the entertainment of the privileged populus. In this regionalist critical
novel, Mark Twain uses Tom Sawyer as a vehicle to reveal the dangers of an idealistic society and
how idealism leads to society rationalizing its day–to–day standards; thereby, its idealism serves to
hide the questionable moral behaviors prevalent in Twain's era.
TOM'S WORLD
In society, individuals follow a core set of ethical codes which justify certain behaviors and vilify
others. Twain uses Tom's play world as a parallel to the adult moral code of his era. Tom possesses
an infatuation with adventure stories and the common traits that comprise each; his infatuation turns
the principles of his books into a code of standards to which he staunchly adheres. He parallels the
concept of Southern honor, the

You Ll Be In My Heart Literary Devices
Heart. Memories. Wishes. My first song is "You'll be In My Heart" By Phil Collins. In this song the
literary device used to convey the theme of when someone loses someone important to them, they
will be by there side forever and never leave is repetition. My second song choice is "My Wish" By
Rascal Flatts. In this song the literary device pathos helps convey the theme of never giving up on
dreams and when other people doubt other people's goals but they continue to keep moving forward.
The song "You'll Be In My Heart" by Phil Collins and the novel, "Jeremy Fink and The Meaning of
Life" by Wendy Mass, both use repetition to get across the common theme of when someone loses
someone important to them they will be by their side forever and never leave. In the song, Phil
Collins writes, "You'll be here in my heart. Always. Always I'll be with you. I'll be there for you
always. Always and always."(line 48–52). This highlights ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In the song, Rascal Flatts writes, "My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,

(lines 9–11). This implies that the person writing the song wants you to reach your goals and
continue on and not have to carry regret on your shoulders. They want you to take risks and suceed
at your goals. In the letter that Mr. Fink left for Jeremy it said, "What matters is holding tight to that
string, and and not letting anyone tell us our goals aren't big enough or our interest are silly."
(pg.272). This proves that Mr. Fink wanted Jeremy to hold on tight to his dreams and linterest an

Hamlet Act 2 Scene 2 Essay
Analysis of Hamlet Act 2 scene 2 The play "Hamlet" depicts the life of a prince who wants to
avenge his father's death. In his journey, he takes the lives of many, but manages to kill Claudius, the
one who killed his father. The soliloquy being analyzed is located at the end of Act 2 Scene 2. This
extract takes place after Hamlet is left alone in a room in the castle. A character in this soliloquy is
Hamlet. In the extract, he is releasing his fury as a player could get more emotional about his father's
death than Hamlet. He is reflecting at what he has done and what will he do to avenge his father.
This extract takes place in the rising action as Hamlet is reacting to his reaction towards his father's
death. Hamlet in this soliloquy is depicted as a vengeful and negative person. Hamlet is desperate to
seek revenge for his father, but he is unable to do it, as explained by "dull and muddy–mettled
rascal, peak, Like John–a–dreams". This tells us that Hamlet does not have much motivation in
avenging his father as he still does not know for sure who or what murdered him. In this soliloquy,
he is impatient as he wants to avenge his father as fast as possible. He is also grumpy as someone
who does not feel Hamlet's feelings can get more emotional than him in his ... Show more content

One of them is simile, as evidenced by "dull and muddy–mettled rascal, peak Like John–a–dreams,

This gives us the idea that Hamlet wants to avenge his father but he is not sure if it is the right thing
to do. Another stylistic device used is euphony. Euphony is shown when hamlet says "Remorseless,
treacherous, lecherous, kindless villain!" The use of this stylistic device makes the line melodic.
Shakespeare used this device as he wanted to make the line more enjoyable and make the readers
feel more tense because of the change of tone between the

Dizzee Rascal Analysis Of Grime
Politics: Estates / Urban Planning: Human societies occupy various regions of the earth, information
and encounters are traded within all of these societies, but humans do much more than trade
information; the space they are located in becomes part of a wider spatial order in which the people
within that space are located into their own spatial form. Grime culture arose from council estates
within London and people within council estates will be located with a greater degree of separation,
dense within their own grouping but sparsely connected to the rest of the world.(reference 27 social

  • 3. Songs Break Up Songs Break–Up Songs Throughout Different Genres What does Paris by The Chainsmokers, Say Something by A Great Big World, and Here Comes Goodbye by Rascal Flatts all have in common? They are break–up songs. Each in their own way, all of these songs are about pain and sadness caused by break–ups. Some of these songs are meant to cause an already sad person to cope with their sadness by pushing them farther into "The Abyss". A few are meant to touch on the happier memories of the relationship giving someone hope that they will love again. All of these songs, through their lyrics, structure, and rhythm, are all meant to cope with a person's sadness that results from a break–up. Paris by the Chainsmokers is a song that reflects on the happy side of a relationship that is rarely seen in break–ups. The song is essentially the writer remembering a relationship with fondness. It tells the tale of two young lovers on their own and in love who eventually break apart. It also touches on happy memories like the lyrics "We were staying in paris,/ to get away from your parents" (Chainsmokers, 1–2). By highlighting the highs instead of lows, it shows the listener that they should not be sad about their loss but happy that they ever got to experience the joy and happiness that most relationships provide. Almost no relationships end with happiness but this song shows that it is possible to think happily of a relationship that has ended. This song also uses higher pitched, electronic music to ... • 5. Rogues, Rascals, And Scoundrels Analysis In "Rogues, Rascals, and Scoundrels, " Daniel Williams claims that criminal literature in America has evolved over the last few centuries in three stages. The first stage took place in the seventeenth century, when executions were extremely popular and attended by thousands of Americans (Williams 6). Since executions were so popular, it was inevitable that the execution sermons would not be published (6). The first execution sermons were published as an attempt to make others fear God, as the narratives would include descriptions of how ashamed and remorseful the criminal was for their crimes (Williams 8). Self–hatred and sincerity were not unusual in published confessions, criminals often expressed repentance for their crimes and thanked the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... "The third stage of narrative development was characterized by the appearance of rogues... relying on cleverness more than force, and motivated more by profits than by passion" (Williams 14). Rogues defied whatever came in between their pursuit, whether it be law or authority (Williams 14). In the third stage of criminal literature, the protagonists were all rogues despite of their unlawfully ways, they "aroused reader sympathy" (Williams 16). Williams described these rogues as "outsiders, existing apart from the social structure either by choice or by fate" (William 16). He also described these rogues as "individualistic, opportunistic, self–reliant" as well as "defiant of authority and entirely free" (Williams 16). William argues that the evolution of these narratives took place in three stages: the first being the "early execution sermons and final confessions", the second being "the incomplete narratives of life and, finally the full length rogue narrative" (Williams 17). Williams' article describes how criminal literature changed from "promoting obedience, [to] encouraged defiance" (Williams ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Little Rascals Day Care Research Paper In the spring of 1990 in Edenton North Carolina seven people including the owners and the staff members of the Little Rascals Day Care Center had been arrested and charged with sexually abuse. The mother Audrey Stever, who was concerned about her 3 year old Kyle reported the details of the abuse to authority. Seven staff members that worked in the Little Rascals day care were innocently accused of sexually abusing the majority of the children that attended the Little Rascals day care. This is a witch hunt because the co–workers were blamed. Put to jail, and judged for a crime they never committed. During the opening trial of the little rascals day care therapists and medical doctors had identified dozens of McMartin childrens as sexual abuse. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Sacrifice In John Steinbeck's Cannery Row In John Steinbeck's Cannery Row, Steinbeck focuses on traditional society but a society with different values. His society is the traditional society including class, the homeless, uneducated, but instead Steinbeck captures the humanity in the homeless, the bums, and prostitutes along with the uneducated. Steinbeck carries out the riches parts in the characters personalities and isn't defining them for riches in their bank accounts. He uses friendship and sacrifice as their "humanity scale" in the novel. Steinbeck uses adventures in the novel for a way of explaining life on a broader scale. In a general idea, the main characters Mack and the boys are considered failures in society. It states, "trussed–up men scream at them and call them no–gods, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Rascal: A Fictional Narrative Once upon a time, there was a baby rabbit named Rascal. He like to explore, but usually ended up getting himself lost. Today was one of those days. Rascal had been hopping through a vast field, and realized he wasn't sure which way was back to the road. Rascal knew the field eventually ended, and if he kept heading straight, he would find it. He started to hop through the grass, focused on hopping in one direction. The sun was still rising, creating beautiful shades of color in the sky for Rascal to admire. Rascal wasn't going as fast as he would have liked to, since there were birds flying above him, and he didn't want them to pick him up for lunch. Every time he saw a bird, he'd stop moving, hoping the birds wouldn't spot him. Once the bird was out of his sight, he'd start hopping again, faster than before, as he didn't want to lose too much time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Looking at the house, Rascal couldn't tell if there were any lights on or not, as all the window curtains were closed. The barn door, however, was slightly ajar, so Rascal stopped and thought about whether he should go in or not. Meanwhile, inside the barn, Chance the Cat was sitting up on the hayloft. The inside of the barn wasn't as run down as the outside, but there were still some wood planks that had become weak with rot. The hayloft was not one of Chance's favorite spots, as Chance was afraid of heights. He was only up there to try and scare away the mice, who liked to chew the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Essay about Coral Divers Resport Coral Divers Resort Introduction Mr. Jonathan Greywell is contemplating a business decision in which there are four realistic options. He is the owner of Coral Divers Resort, located in the Bahamas on the island of New Providence. He caters to customers looking for a resort package that includes diving. This case discusses a decline in revenues for the three–year period of 2005–2007. His options include: selling the resort, partnering with another business, focusing on higher margin business, or improve his current business to be more competitive. Selling Coral Divers Resort The most significant reason to sell the business is the declining revenues. However, Greywell would need to find another means of income such as another ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another factor to consider in making this decision is whether Rascal's is worth the 30% commission. The fees for families (i.e. more people per room, etc.) when compared to the operation expenses keep the profit margin the same with the added benefit of a unique identity in the market. Higher Margin Adventure Diving Adventure diving generates a higher margin and therefore it is a good idea for Greywell to consider adding it to the mix of dive offerings. However, it cannot be considered without weighing the risks involved. Coral Divers Resort has an excellent reputation and careful consideration should be given as to how to protect this intangible asset. Adventure dives would need specifically trained and experienced dive masters. Simply training existing employees might pose an additional risk since they aren't too excited about diving with sharks and also lack experience that might be helpful for safety issues. Within an hour's distance away, competitors are already a part of this market and bringing in $115 per adventure dive which is $50 above the regular dive experience. An additional $600 per week can be earned on two days per week with an average of 6 customers each of those days. Despite hiring or training costs and additional $31,200 in revenue can be generated, after the expenses for shark food and the special dive suit. Perhaps more adventure dive business is possible, yet this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. The Influence Of Grime And Trap Music On The Media And... Grime and trap music have slowly found their way to the top of mainstream popular music culture over the last decade. Grime is now one of Britain's largest and well known musical styles as it is taking over from American Hip Hop and can be widely heard over radio stations such as "Capital 95.8fm" and "Kiss 100 Fm". What Jazz was from the 1920s to 40's or what R&B was between the 70's to 80's. Like most genres of music which have made mainstream popularity such as Rock n Roll, Grime too tends to have negative perception on the genre and within mainstream outlets, therefore impacting on the public perception of the music and the culture that it has sprung from. Most promoters now find it impossible to put on grime in clubs, because grime nights have been unofficially outlawed by the police. Deja Vu FM, Rinse FM, Flex FM, Freeze FM, Axe FM were some of the first radio stations illegally held up in high–rise flats in and around London town. which started to play the grime music. Rinse FM now has a full licence, as do some of the others, but online radio stations are the way forward now. Grime began as a London based movement, yet rapidly keeps running into debate when various live events were disturbed by rival groups and crews, authorizing issues or police interference. Violence has regularly hidden out of sight, from unpredictable MC Crazy Titch getting imprisoned for murder in 2005 at the height of his fame, to grime demonstrates getting kicked off the pirate radio station Rinse FM in December 2006. Most of grime 's stars, come from deprived London boroughs like Hackney and Newham, where gun crime is out of control. But it may also have something to do with the sound itself – unlike two– step garage, its predecessor, grime is intrinsically claustrophobic and furious. To begin your study of the life of Muad'Dib, then, take care that you first place him in his time: born in the 57th year of the Padishah Emperor, Shaddam IV. According to USLegal (2016) an expert testimony is, "the testimony made by a qualified person about a scientific, technical, or professional issue". An expert that is familiarized with the subject of matter is generally called to testify. In the instance of the Little Rascals Case: State V. Robert Kelly and The Martinsville Trial an expert witness in children suggestibility was called to testify known as, Maggie Bruck. Bruck (1998) wrote about her experiences in these trials and the pitfalls of performing the service that know one warns an expert witness about (Bruck, 1998, p.85). Throughout Brucks (1998) in depth article of the two cases she helped fit and not fit my perception of expert witness and providing expert testimony. Also, I found some surprising information in the article and had thoughts about whether I would consider providing expert testimony. I will further go on to discuss these aspects within this paper. The experience that Bruck (1998) shared about being an expert witness fit some of my perceptions about expert witness and providing an expert testimony. I expected that as an expert witness the side you were testifying for the direct examination would go fairly well. Bruck (1998) shared, "I felt that I had made the most important points without losing the jury's attention" (p.91). Consequently, the persistence with which I pushed each one of my siblings, in the beginning, produced strength and compassion within them while bringing forth tenderness of heart and a bond of love between all of us that is unbreakable. My leadership as the older sister to my three siblings has influenced them in a way that encourages them to be there for one another, trust one another and help one another because they know they are stronger ... • 29. Musical Autobiography My life has always been centered around music even before I was born. Music is a big part of whom I am because it something I can go to and play on the piano when I am stressed or sad. Music for me is a calming force that helps solve my emotions. Music is such an important role in my life because at a very young age I watched my mother play the piano which in time made me want to learn as well. Throughout my life, I have learned to play the piano and the flute and wished I knew how to play the cello and the oboe. I grew up in a family who loved music. Ever since I was in first grade, I could read music and started to learn to play the piano. There was always a piano in our house, and every Sunday morning, my mother would play the organ at ... In ninth grade, I had a music appreciation class where we had two assignments that really helped shape my musical tastes. The first one we were told to make a playbill on a Broadway musical we liked but prior to that class I had never been to Broadway. My partner and I chose to do ours on Wicked which is now one of my favorite albums to listen to and I hope I get to see in person someday. This assignment started my love for all things Broadway. The second assignment we had in that class was a report we had to do on one of our favorite artists. I had done mine on the Rascal Flatts but the really changed my opinion on music from that assignment was the peer pressure of my class to like rock music and rap. To this day I still don't like to listen to rap but I have learned to like rock music. The music I like to listen today ranges from Contemporary Christian music with artists like Matthew West, Newsboys and Francesca Battistelli to Rock bands like Bon Jovi and Journey. All of a sudden my dog Rascal started spazzing on the ground and breathing really heavy. It was very confusing at first because he was fine and then he wasn't. We put a blanket under him and relaxed with him. When my dad came home he said stuff in my private with my mom and they came back in and said it was time for bed. So we all went to bed hoping he was going to be okay. The next morning when we got up we expected Rascal to still be up stairs but he wasn't. • 33. The Secret Life Of Bees Analysis Sue Monk Kidd's The Secret Life of Bees and Rascal Flatts "I'm Movin' On", both adequately demonstrate that a childhood of guilt can result in difficulty forgiving oneself and others. Overcoming inner conflicts as well as finding a place of belonging and contentment is a result that comes with self–forgiveness. The Secret Life of Bees is a story of a young girl named Lily Owens who, throughout the novel, faces immense obstacles. This novel focuses on the blurred memory Lily has of the death of her mother. In the novel, the reader learns that Lily was only a young child during the death of her mother and her emotionally abusive father, T. Ray, often tells her that this death was all her fault. T. Ray implements the idea that Lily was the one to who had accidentally shot her mother with a gun which causes her to grow up living with the guilt and shame of this traumatic event that took a very valuable life from her. As the plot intensifies, Lily and her strong– willed black caretaker, Rosaleen, decide to escape T. Rays sadistic tendencies and abusive behavior. After deciding to run away from T. Ray, Lily soon finds the Boatwright sisters who had a strong connection with Lily's mother before she died. While meeting the Boatwright sisters, Lily says, "I felt like she knew what a lying, murdering, hating person I really was. How I hated T. Ray, and the girls at school, but mostly myself for taking away my mother" (Kidd 71). This quote shows the destructive effect of being blamed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Comparing The Struggles Of Nora In A Doll's House Enough is Enough: The Struggles of Nora in "A Doll's House" In the Victorian age men were the head decisions makers for their wives and children's lives. In "A Doll's House" it shows a bundle of disagreements with Nora and her husband Torvald. Their relationship has pushed Nora to her breaking point. I argue that in "A Doll's House" by Henrik Ibsen and "I'm Moving On" by Rascal Flatts, Nora realizes that Torvald has been dismissing her and treating her badly because Torvald has been calling her very degrading names, Torvald has been very self–centered, and Torvald forbids her to even leave him, when that is what was best for her. Nora and Torvald have been married for eight years. He has never excelled at being an exceptional husband to her, and talks extremely negative to her. Torvald also screeched at his wife, Nora, for making inadequate decisions that have destroyed his reputation. Torvald says, "You talk like a child, think like a child! Based on my findings, I believe Coral Divers is in a decreasing state of financials and diminishing competitive position. Their net income is negative and increasing in 2005 through 2007. In addition, there is a lack of differentiators at Coral Divers, hindering them from their competition. The issue at hand is whether Coral Divers should take on a potential growth strategy, which consists of adding a family vacation portion to their resort, and an adventure diving aspect. This would enable them to cater to a greater variety of people and allow increased competition. Exhibit 1.1 Supplier Power * ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The alternatives for Coral Divers includes: Alternative | Cost | Revenue Potential | Family Vacations / Rascals in Paradise | * $40,000 in renovations on rooms * Children's play structure = $15,000 * Babysitter = $7/hr @ 5 hrs/week = ~$2000/yr | * Return client base * 90% annually * Higher prices for families * ~$1600 per family vacation * 90% rooms booked per week @ $3500 per special family week= $18,900/week = $982,800/yr | Adventure Diving | * $10 per dive = shark dive * Employee discouraged * $15,000 Chain mail suit | * Extra $50 per dive per person | Both | * Large upfront cost | * Good long term investment | Neither | * Differentiators in market | * None * Current operations | Exhibit 1.4 As a consultant to help assess Coral Divers strategy, I recommend that Coral Divers add the family vacation element to their business and utilize Rascals in Paradise. I'm sure most people are familiar with the songs "My wish" by Rascal Flatts and "I hope you dance" by Lee Ann Womack. Both of these songs are saying to give confidence and never give up on the the things you love. "I Hope You Dance" and "My Wish" are very alike in a sense that they are both about going somewhere in life and being happy, but there are a few differences that are hard to recognize. "My Wish" is a song recorded by Rascal Flatts, written by Jeffery Steele and Steve Robson. The song was written for one of Steele's four daughters. What I'm getting out of this song, and what I believe many others do too is to live every minute like it's your last. "I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow" the very first line is about someone who's going somewhere in life. "And each road leads you where you want to go," (line 2) This is saying that hopefully the path you're taking in life is the one you want to fulfill. "And if you're faced with a choice and you have to choose, I hope you choose the one that means the most to you" (line 3–4) What Steele is saying that if one has to make a choice, it should be the best choice for that person, not what someone else wants you to do. "Your dreams stay big and your worries stay small" (line 1, verse 2) Steele is saying to keep your goals in mind, work towards them and don't let your worries get in the way. Coral Divers Resort Case Solution Essay Problem: The issue that Coral Divers Resort (CDR) is facing is that it has been unable to distinguish itself from other resorts in the New Providence, Bahamas region and has been experiencing declining revenues and unprofitability for the past three years as a result. Other resorts that have been able to specialize in certain segments of the diving industry have been doing well over the past years as the industry continues to grow. Comparison of Solutions: When it comes to judging the alternatives with the most important factors of profit maximization and competitive advantage, the recommended option to become focused on family diving vacations is much stronger than the option to specialize in shark diving. (Displayed in detail in Exhibit 2). Partnering with Rascals posts the highest first full year profits of $166,000 compared to the adventure focused and cost efficiency alternative that posts a first year profit of $112,000. Further, the partnering with Rascals has projected revenues that are sustained further out in the future because of the competitive advantage gained when moving into the family oriented diving segment rather than the adventure oriented segment. • 43. 'Oh Rascal Children Of Gaza And Inside Out' The authors of the poems "Oh Rascal Children of Gaza" and "Inside Out" dissimilarly utilize flashback in order to demonstrate the theme of appreciating what one may have before it's gone. The poem "Oh Rascal Children of Gaza," written by Khaled Juma, depicts a flashback of when a certain group of children were present, expressed through the memories of the narrator. In the beginning of the poem, the narrator has a distinct negative connotation of the children. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The narrator of the poem bounces back and forth between what the people of Gaza were experiencing and what the spectators in Brazil were experiencing. The first change of scenery is seen in lines 1–4 of the poem, "People inside out/on the streets in their loved ones'/arms people screaming/in football stadiums" (Beck). The people of Gaza are holding each other because they are scared of the attack, while the spectators of the World Cup are shouting with passion for their team to make a pass, or score a goal. Throughout the next few lines of the poem the bombings in Gaza are illustrated, "there's an old woman/who dies holding/her spoon waiting/ for iftar/which comes but so do/the rockets" (Beck 10–16). In the latter of the poem, a very significant and moving shift between the two settings is shown, "a player kisses a trophy/his wife his son/a mother/kisses a dead child/grief inside out" (Beck 50–54). The contrast between the settings themselves is what really emphasizes the poem's theme of appreciating what one may have, as the player is kissing his wife, son, and trophy, out of joy, but the mother is kissing her child who has been killed, out of grief. The people viewing the World Cup were oblivious to the occurrences in Gaza, which is what Zeina Hashem Beck was getting across to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As we all know, there's an entrance and an exit point to every highway. Much like a highway, our lives have a beginning and an end. Similarly, the structure of the letter "I" has a start and a finish. At a closer glance the alphabet holds more purpose than for just simply reading and writing. Perhaps simplistic letters hold an unknown "truth" about the world around us. Who am I? Who are you? As a person, we are labeled by our identity. According to Dictionary.reference.com the word "identity" is defined as condition or character as to who a person or what a thing is. Distinctive traits give personality to individuals. • 49. Rascal Flatt's Song Analysis Most parents now in today's society want better for their children, and want nothing to harm or come interfere with their paths. Flatts expresses this in his song," And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose, I hope you choose the one that means the most to you." A report done by Andres Bendesky and Young–mi Kwon found from their results that variation in an ancient neuropeptide contributes to differences in parental care (Bendesky Andres, & Kwon mi–Young 2016). As a young child we obviously want to feel loved and protected especially when things aren't going our way, we need that person to always rely on. Rascal Flatts ensures that no matter what path his daughter chooses he will be there as her role model to lead the way her heart desires to go. This correlates to more of an indirect care towards his daughter, because Flatts will protect her on her journey being the role model he wants her to also become. • 57. Fools And Rascals In The Canterbury Tales Geoffrey Chaucer introduces a wide variety of characters to the readers of The Canterbury Tales. From a knight to a cook, the pilgrims in the work each have their own story as well as a purpose with their stories even though that purpose is difficult to find at first. Jill Mann contends, "Undoubtedly it is true that Chaucer not only persuades us that fools and rascals can be very charming people, but is at the same time taking care to make us suspect that they are fools and rascals" (Chaucer and Medieval Estates Satire 192). The charm of these fools and rascals are amusing at first, but readers must also remember that these characters are still not exempt from their faults and flaws. Mann's observation pertaining to Chaucer's pilgrims and their corresponding tales applies most accurately to the Pardoner, the Miller, and the Wife of Bath. The Pardoner lives in such a state of contradiction that readers can find humor in it. While he centers his preachings on the Latin phrase "Radix malorum est cupiditas" or Avarice is the root of evil, the Pardoner craves money and riches most of all (Chaucer 312). His hypocrisy is so ridiculous that the Pardoner becomes a caricature of a corrupted churchman, selling fake holy relics to fund his sinful greed. Life can and will at some point be challenging, but he wants his kids to know that no matter what, they will always have someone that loves them. He wants the best for his kids and he wants life for them to be all that they want it to be. He encourages them to keep and strive for their dreams, while keeping their worries small. • 67. Tom Sawyer: Little Rascal And Proper Southern Gentleman Tom Sawyer: Little Rascal and Proper Southern Gentleman In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Tom Sawyer appears in St Petersburg and at the Phelps' farm as Huck Finn's companion. Though Tom serves as Huck's partner–in–crime of sorts, the two boys contrast in crucial perceptual and behavioral aspects: where Tom possesses a love for romanticism and a strict policy of adherence to societal conventions and codes, Huck possesses a skeptical sort of personality in which he tends to perceive society's infatuations as frivolous. Tom's presence represents an overlying trend in behavior for Mark Twain's era wherein individuals adhere to an idealistic social code that justifies the subjugation of others for the entertainment of the privileged populus. In this regionalist critical novel, Mark Twain uses Tom Sawyer as a vehicle to reveal the dangers of an idealistic society and how idealism leads to society rationalizing its day–to–day standards; thereby, its idealism serves to hide the questionable moral behaviors prevalent in Twain's era. TOM'S WORLD In society, individuals follow a core set of ethical codes which justify certain behaviors and vilify others. Twain uses Tom's play world as a parallel to the adult moral code of his era. Tom possesses an infatuation with adventure stories and the common traits that comprise each; his infatuation turns the principles of his books into a code of standards to which he staunchly adheres. He parallels the concept of Southern honor, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Comparison Of Rascal Flatts And Aka Pygmy Culture It is evident that fathers across all cultures are different along with their way of parenting their offspring's, but ages also change or stay the way we parent our offspring's and the kind of care we offer them. The care that Rascal Flatts is providing his daughter is very similar to the one of Aka Pygmy culture. He says "I hope you never look back, but you never forget, All the ones who love you, in the place you live" which shows traits of the hunter and gather community by the long term kinship." • 71. You Ll Be In My Heart Literary Devices Heart. Memories. Wishes. My first song is "You'll be In My Heart" By Phil Collins. In this song the literary device used to convey the theme of when someone loses someone important to them, they will be by there side forever and never leave is repetition. My second song choice is "My Wish" By Rascal Flatts. In this song the literary device pathos helps convey the theme of never giving up on dreams and when other people doubt other people's goals but they continue to keep moving forward. The song "You'll Be In My Heart" by Phil Collins and the novel, "Jeremy Fink and The Meaning of Life" by Wendy Mass, both use repetition to get across the common theme of when someone loses someone important to them they will be by their side forever and never leave. In the song, Phil Collins writes, "You'll be here in my heart. Always. Always I'll be with you. I'll be there for you always. Always and always."(line 48–52). This highlights ... In the song, Rascal Flatts writes, "My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to, Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small, You never need to carry more than you can hold." (lines 9–11). This implies that the person writing the song wants you to reach your goals and continue on and not have to carry regret on your shoulders. They want you to take risks and suceed at your goals. In the letter that Mr. Fink left for Jeremy it said, "What matters is holding tight to that string, and and not letting anyone tell us our goals aren't big enough or our interest are silly." (pg.272). This proves that Mr. Fink wanted Jeremy to hold on tight to his dreams and linterest an thrive through life and not listen to what others had to say. He wanted him to continue in what he believs no matter ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 73. Hamlet Act 2 Scene 2 Essay Analysis of Hamlet Act 2 scene 2 The play "Hamlet" depicts the life of a prince who wants to avenge his father's death. In his journey, he takes the lives of many, but manages to kill Claudius, the one who killed his father. The soliloquy being analyzed is located at the end of Act 2 Scene 2. This extract takes place after Hamlet is left alone in a room in the castle. A character in this soliloquy is Hamlet. In the extract, he is releasing his fury as a player could get more emotional about his father's death than Hamlet. He is reflecting at what he has done and what will he do to avenge his father. This extract takes place in the rising action as Hamlet is reacting to his reaction towards his father's death. Hamlet in this soliloquy is depicted as a vengeful and negative person. Hamlet is desperate to seek revenge for his father, but he is unable to do it, as explained by "dull and muddy–mettled rascal, peak, Like John–a–dreams". This tells us that Hamlet does not have much motivation in avenging his father as he still does not know for sure who or what murdered him. In this soliloquy, he is impatient as he wants to avenge his father as fast as possible. He is also grumpy as someone who does not feel Hamlet's feelings can get more emotional than him in his ... Here, Shakespeare is comparing Hamlet with a dreamer without a cause. This gives us the idea that Hamlet wants to avenge his father but he is not sure if it is the right thing to do. Another stylistic device used is euphony. Euphony is shown when hamlet says "Remorseless, treacherous, lecherous, kindless villain!" The use of this stylistic device makes the line melodic. Shakespeare used this device as he wanted to make the line more enjoyable and make the readers feel more tense because of the change of tone between the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 75. Dizzee Rascal Analysis Of Grime Politics: Estates / Urban Planning: Human societies occupy various regions of the earth, information and encounters are traded within all of these societies, but humans do much more than trade information; the space they are located in becomes part of a wider spatial order in which the people within that space are located into their own spatial form. Grime culture arose from council estates within London and people within council estates will be located with a greater degree of separation, dense within their own grouping but sparsely connected to the rest of the world.(reference 27 social logic of space) Alongside being physically separated from outer–estate life, council estates have become something of a class–symbol, a psycho–socio bruise given by ... It is from this thought process in which Dizzee Rascal aptly named his first album, Boy In Da Corner; eloquently incubating the feeling of claustrophobia simply within the title. Literature has already been published laying the foundations on the fact that Grime is a purely ethnographical form, this has always been the case since its emergence in the early 00's and the aforementioned Boy In Da Corner release "depict[ing] a bleak world, devoid of aspiration: no one in their right minds would want to live there." (reference page 7 my quotes) It is this fact that no–one wanted to live there which Grime artists used to their advantage, constantly writing lyrics about events which happened only within this dystopian– architectural landscape, dystopian being the keyword within that previous sentence as this is the terminology in which the architecture creates for itself, coming indefinitely before the people within ...
