Question Two

 1. 1. Question two
How does your media product represent particular social groups?
2. 2. Who is being represented?
My music magazine represents young people, within their social group. Young people are shown in my magazine as ‘typical teenagers’. They are given the bad boy image with the background of my photos being in a un-used/trespassing area. Usually on a grime magazine, the main image would be of someone black portraying genre.
3. 3. Typical audience members
4. 4. The young people represented in my media product
My magazine represents the stereotype of young people. It enhances dominant ideology, by indicating that all young people are up to know good, drinking, taking drugs and starting fights.
5. 5. Emergent Ideology
However, emergent ideology is indicating that all teenagers aren’t up to know good, disrespecting adults. There are teenagers that are talented who play musical instruments and that do well at university and college.
However, this is not shown in my magazine, as it portrays the ideas of having the typical teenagers there are.
6. 6. Alternate representation
Connotations: Talented, Respectful, Polite.
Connotations: Drunk, Drugs, Rude, Disrespectful, trespasser.
