The document discusses the importance of not procrastinating and delaying tasks for tomorrow. It notes that life is short and unpredictable, so we should make the most of our time by prioritizing work and not wasting time. Procrastination is common among students but hinders performance, while consistent work habits serve students better. Time passes quickly and delays can spell disaster, so we should respect time and use it wisely by completing tasks immediately instead of putting them off until tomorrow.
2. Life is short and anything can happen
within a matter of seconds. We can’t predict
the future and therefore we don’t know if
we will be here to see the next sunrise. Life
shouldn’t be lived with hesitations or regret,
if you have something to say or do, you
should get it said or done.
3. “Dream as if you’ll live forever, live as if
you’ll die today”.-James Dean
In short I am going to tell you why you
should carry this short, “Don’t delay it for
tomorrow” statement around with you.
Not only could it improve your life, but
your productivity at work too.
4. All of us have heard the famous saying,
“Time and tide wait for no man”. So it is
important to make the most of our time
instead of procrastinating. In universities we
are taught time management skills because
our life is essentially a race against time. We
have so many tasks at hand but very little
time. This is why prioritization of work is
important so that no time is wasted along
the way.
5. Procrastination is common in
the field of education. Students
neglect their studies during their
school term and wait till the last
minute to prepare for
examinations.
6. They spend so much time playing games
and chatting with friends. These students
do not perform to their optimum level in
the examinations. Toppers, on other hand,
are consistent in their studies and strike
the right balance between education and
play. They never panic at the last moment
as they are already well prepared for their
examinations.
7. Time is just like a river; it keeps
flowing forward and never turns
back. We may delay our work and
wait for the last minute to
complete our tasks at hand, but
time will continue to move forward.
8. Farmers have to keep a close watch of
time because they follow strict
schedules for planting and harvesting.
Their farming schedules are based on
the weather and if they delay their
planting or harvesting time by even a
day, it will spell disaster for them
because time will not wait for them.
9. We should have respect for time and not
misuse it. We may have heard of this
famous saying, “To realize the value of
one year, ask a student who failed an
examination. To realize the value of one
month, ask a mother who gave birth to a
premature baby. To realize the value of
one minute, ask a person who just missed
his train.
10. To realize the value on one second,
ask someone who just avoided an
accident”. Time is precious even one
second of our life is valuable. So do
not waste it. Let us have respect for
time and time will show the same
respect to us.
11. There is a thing called Procrastination
that creeps in when we aren’t looking.
It takes hold of our mind and numbs
every cell in our body. It’s like an
addiction that we can’t get rid of, like a
burden that rests on our shoulders….
wasting more and more time each day.
12. The project that use to take
two days now takes them a
week.
Now the question rises that
why my project take a week
instead of the usual two days ?
13. Well it is because I started using the
word, “Tomorrow” more often in our
day to day life. Receiving the project
today and knowing the deadline is
only in a week and three days our
brain automatically tells us that we
can do the work tomorrow and still
get it done in time.
14. Every working person wants to go
through a day and at the most things
done with the least amount of work.
So pushing a project to tomorrow
frees up some time today. Which in
actual fact is the total opposite. We
are actually creating more work for
ourself without realizing it.
15. The real way to free up some
time is by working on the
project immediately. “Don’t
delay it for tomorrow”.
16. We can break the project into
parts and get a part done each
day. By doing it this way, not only
will we minimize our work load
daily, but we will be finished with
the project in no time at all.
17. This can be expanded further to apply
to activity and work in all walks of life-
be it an office- goers or a boss, an
administrator or his subordinate, or the
highest or the lowest in the land. Each
should keep in mind the golden maxim.
“Don’t delay it for tomorrow what we
can do today”.
18. If all of us keep this in mind,
there would be no delays or
hold ups, no bureaucratic red
tapism and no hassles in our
own or our fellow being’s lives.
