MODEM <ul><li>Modem (Modulator-Demodulator) is a device, which helps in converting analog signal into digital signal and vice-versa.It may be either an internal or external modem but it is one of essential component to access the Internet.The computer uses or understands digital signals whereas telephone works on analog signals .So a modem allows your computer to connect with other computers around the world through telephone </li></ul>
  3. 3. SERVER <ul><li>All related data or contents of the Internet are held by the host computer known as Server. Any organization or corporation can own a Server. When any user requests for some information,it transmits the data in small packets along with the address of the user, I.e., where they are to be sent. </li></ul>

WWW(World Wide Web) <ul><li>The World Wide Web is a collection of pages of information on different topics on the Internet.These pages may include texts,images,sounds and digital movies, which can be accessed by the people all over the world. All the information is presented in a very attractive and entertaining way. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Webpage <ul><li>A single digital page of information which contains text,graphics, audio and video clipping on a website is called webpage. The pages,which collectively form the world wide web are known as web pages.The web pages are created on special type of host computer called web server. </li></ul>

Website <ul><li>A website is a collection of one or more related web pages,linked to one another to form a global web of information.When you want to move from one page to another on a website then you are to use hyperlinks. </li></ul><ul><li>Suppose, you want to get some information about some topic in physics the you should open educational website(google.com) </li></ul>

Let us look at the home page of www.yahoo.com . </li></ul><ul><li>It is the first hyperlinks document displayed when the user first connects to any websites on the web server.It is generally an index page of any organization or information resource.The home page acts as the various link texts,which takes the user to further information on the same topic </li></ul>
