At WordCamp Capetown, I talked about how blogging about WordPress helped kickstart my career. Though I blog about WordPress, such a tactic could likely work in many industries - to get greater authority in your niche by blogging. 2. What is a blog, anyway?

3. To blog is simply to put
some form of content online.

4. I started with ideas.

5. I made a discovery.

6. I started learning (from
blogs).

7. I wanted to pay it forward.

8. I embedded myself in a
community.

9. I knew this was the career I
wanted.

10. I got a job doing what I loved.

11. But it doesn't end there.

12. So I started Post Status.

13. It's not just about learning now.

succeed is nearly impossible.

26. You have to ask to receive.

28. Perception is key.

29. Don't be afraid to be a blog.
