Koria Scantlebury created storyboards and health and safety plans with their group to understand audience expectations for their advert. They considered props, costumes, risks, and contingencies. Survey Monkey and focus groups provided audience research to refine the advert. Storyboards were most useful for staying on track, while the budget was least useful since equipment was provided.
2. Me and my group decided to plan our advert
using storyboards. We later went on to
completing health and safety plans, focus and
feedback groups, this way we had a clear
understanding of what the audience would
expect from our advert and what it would
look like.
4. Myself and my group thought about what
kind of look we were going for in this advert
and what props/equipment would be
required. This document sheet came in handy
because, it helped use remember that if we
are recording a similar scene of a different
day to try and make what we wore in the
scene more or less related to the same scene.
5. Although all the equipment for the advert
would be provided, this document was still
very important because, we had to imagine in
the budget was coming from our own pockets
what we would be able to afford, and if we
couldn’t afford it what we could us instead of
it. That document was a guideline for us to
know what would have been important for us
to spend our money on.
6. This document was helpful to us because, it
highlighted any risk that could arise in the
making of our advert, and if there would be
any hiccups how to solve/avoid them.
7. This is a follow up to the risk assessment
document. This document is devised for an
outcome other than what we had planned for
our advert. For example, if the location we
were expecting to use is occupied, we would
have the second location in mind.
8. My survey monkey offered me a quick and
easy way for me to get an insight and some
results on how women view their mascara.
For example, what brand they use, how often
they use it, what colour the prefer to use etc.
9. My focus group provided me with
constructive criticism that I would need if I
was to get my advert to it’s highest standard.
This is also a good way to evaluate your
advert because, the candidates are likely to
give their honest opinion on the advert so it
is better when it comes to analysing your
advert.
10. Throughout the production of the advert I feel that
the storyboards were the most useful piece of
document we made. This is because, the
storyboard was always there for reassurance when
we couldn’t quite remember what we needed to do.
However, I feel that the least useful document was
for the budget. This is only because, in our advert
we was needed to spend any money all equipment
was provided and costumes/props were already
acquired by us.
