The evaluation question
 How does your media product represent particular
social groups?
 Social groups I will look at:
- gender
- age
Gender representation
 My film is a psychological thriller which starts with a
woman alone in a forest. We get a feeling that she is
being followed and that she is trying to escape from
something. From my synopsis; it establishes that the
woman is going to outwit a killer. This suggests that
women are smarter than they are given credit for
and goes against the way that they are usually
portrayed as they are usually portrayed as weak.
Gender continued…
Carol Clover’s theory of the Final Girl can be applied to
my title sequence and my female representation. This is
because the woman is being followed by the man and
will eventually be threatened by him to show us her
weakness. However; the woman will
eventually outwit him.
Age representation
 Due to me using a teenager who is a relatively
young person; it can show us how vulnerable the girl
is as she is being followed by the camera. This view
of the girl is how girls and women
are stereotypically
viewed and looked at in
the media; as weak,
vulnerable and feeble.
