Yu-Gi-Oh Research Paper
Playing card games that can be easily mastered like GO FISH is not really fun to play all the time. If you're looking for a good hobby to get into, play
the trading card game named Yu–Gi–Oh. The steps on how to play this game is quite cumbersome indeed, but with just a few minutes of reading this,
you'll be able to pick up a deck of your choice and battle it out with a stranger in a tournament or a friend in your sad little basement. Explaining what
Yu–Gi–Oh is will be better for your knowledge about this whole game and its diverse "universe". Yu–Gi–Oh i s an exciting universe based on a card
game played with Monsters, Spells, and Traps. The Yu
–Gi–Oh franchise covers many media, one of which is manga/anime (cartoons), all of it created

Main Phase II is the exact phase as Main Phase I, nothing further needs to be explained. With all your actions and phases out of the way in your
turn this duel, now comes the End Phase, having you announcing the end of your turn and if you have any cards relating to this End Phase, activate
them at once. If you have more than 6 cards in your hand at the end of this phase, select and discard cards to the Graveyard until you only have 6
cards in your greedy little hands. Now that you're done with your turn, it's your friends turn, meaning he follows the same guidelines as you and
performs all the required Phases in his turn. After you two are having your little "friendly" bout against each other, whoever gets the other's Life Points
down to zero will win the duel you so horribly setup. There are of course some other attributing rules about the Yu–Gi–Oh Trading Card Game such as
the list of which cards may be unfair to use and such, but that can be better explained at your resolve if you want. You can find more info about the
Yu–Gi–Oh Trading Card Game here at its official website, shortened sweet for you:

Why Is MPH Important To Me
For me, growing up I was never really into sports. I was what people today would define as a "nerd". I would sit in the house all day and watch
cartoons like Yu–Gi–Oh, PokГ©mon and Naruto, and daydream about being a character in one of these shows. All of my friends were like that too,
but I when I came to MPH I was introduced into a new atmosphere. Everyone here for the most part engaged in some type of sport. With a no–cut
policy, there was no reason not to play a sport. You didn't have to worry about being good or the most skilled, you could just come out and have a
good time. The first sport I was introduced to at MPH was soccer. Now coming from an African decent, with my parents being from Ghana, most
people would expect me to be at least

Deaf Community Observation Report
For my volunteer hours I attended the DeafNation Expo in Kissimmee, Florida. The date of this volunteering experience was March 12th, 2016. Our
supervisor at this event was Renee Geary. The volunteers at this event were a mix of students from USF, students from Daytona State College, and high
school students from Hagerty High School. The DeafNation Expo is coordinated by DeafNation. DeafNation is a company that focuses on news
coverage, social networking, and special events for the greater deaf and hard–of–hearing community. The company was founded in 2003 by Joel and
Jed Barish. The DeafNation Expo is an event that provides exhibitions, entertainment, and seminars which all focus on the deaf community. When I
arrived to the Expo around 8:00 A.M. I immediately met up with the group of students volunteering, who were gathered around getting instructions
from Renee Geary. I introduced myself and Renee showed me our volunteer schedule. For the first couple of hours, my scheduled position was at the
front entrance of the building to the event. I was responsible along with another student, for keeping the line organized, welcoming everyone to the ...

However, I know that my receptive skills need a lot of improvement, but this event was the perfect time for me to have the opportunity to ask for
clarification. Whenever I was not sure if understood the information, I would always either ask the person to repeat themselves, or I would sign the
information back to them to make sure it was

Author's note: Hello, fans! I am sure all of you are use to my Powerpuff Girls fics with the REDs (Blossom and Brick). Incase most of you are

I still ship them. No offense to the Kaiba and Serenity shippers but they do look pretty together but Kaiba needs a strong, bold, assertive woman. I'm

Yugi laughed at Tea's comment.
"On a lighter note, how are Joey and Tristan?" Tea asked. "I've been so busy. I feel bad I didn't reply to their texts till three days later."
"They are good. Joey was venting to me saying how mad he was you didn't reply to him. He feels like you forgot him." Yugi laughed.
Tea rolled her eyes. Joey was annoying.

"Awesome! I have to tell him congratulations." Tea said. "Is he still chasing Serenity?"
"Of course. That won't change." Yugi laughed.

Games : A Possible Means Of Therapy
Tabletop games; A Possible Means of Therapy
This paper was important for me to research and write because I have several disabling mental health conditions. I see many of the games mentioned
later as therapeutic and I find that my mental health becomes more stable after playing tabletop games in a social setting. This is odd as my mental
health prevents me from being social in many instants. The importance of mental health and ways to treat them are becoming a concern, and I
wanted to find out if my experiences in gaming where studied and if others shared my views. My goal in this paper is to spark an interest in the
psychiatric world to do more research on these types of games as a means of therapy or rehabilitation and show how tabletop games of many kinds,
affect our mental state and produce a unique environment for mental health experiences.
Many people today see tabletop games as just games however I see them as a new means of therapy. Games like Magic the Gathering or Dungeons &
Dragons are seen as tabletop games however, they are different. Role–playing games, board games, and trading card games all fall into different
subcategories of tabletop gaming, Magic a trading card game; D&D a role–playing game1. Although I had planned to only talk about role–playing
games, after researching and conducting interviews I found that tabletop gaming as a whole had so many similarities in their effects. The effects of
gaming on mental health are now being studied more frequently as

The Problem Of Teenagers And Teenagers
1.0 Introduction
Though marketing to teenagers has increased largely over the past years, it has become more and more of a dilemma for businesses. Many
businesses and companies have been widely affected by the lack of interaction between them and teenagers. The main population of teenagers use the
internet, or any form of social media, to buy products online. Not many teenagers prefer to go into a store physically and buy the product off the
shelf. This is an extreme problem for businesses, for a few businesses do not advertise via the internet. However, there are many factors to this specific
problem that can be resolved.
2.0 Current issues that surround marketing to teenagers
2.1 Technology
Some businesses try to reach out to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2.2 Cost
Cost can be a major issue when it comes to marketing to teenagers. This can be due to the fact that that many products or businesses that are
targeted at teenagers generally tend to be expensive, especially the "trendy" items. This is an issue because majority of teens these days do not
have jobs or any source of income to afford these types of items. In fact, this generation of teens are supposedly known to be the "laziest" and
"unaware" ("Why 'Generation Z ' Teens Are Being Stereotyped As 'Lazy '", 2017). Even though some teenagers do tend to have jobs and earn money
through allowances, this does not mean they are willing to spend hundreds of dollars on expensive brands. Due to this crisis of expensive items
targeted at teens, teenagers themselves take it upon themselves to go for the cheaper option or knock off brands. Thus providing less business for
companies that sell their products at expensive prices.
2.3 TV Advertisements
TV advertisements that are targeted or made for teenagers do not necessarily approach teenagers in the right way. If anything, most television
advertisements made for teens tend to look more appropriate for young children. For example, some toy advertisements that are made for teens like,
Yu Gi Oh or some board games made for teens, tend to feature more aspects that would reach out to young children. Because of this, teenagers are not
interested in these certain television advertisements. However, ads for City Beach or

How The Media Affected My Life
The Media plays a huge part in how the world is shaped today. One way the media has shaped world is how the media affected the ideas and values
we have and share throughout our lives. To a substantial large degree, the media has affected my life in a positive way. It has shaped my life for
the better all the way back to my childhood days. To be clear, the programs from Cartoon Network and CW, albums from Childish Gambino and

The Morning After for Mokuba Kaiba
It is a beautiful Morning in domino city, the sun was shining and birds were singing. People were making their way to work, chatting on cell
phones with business calls, or chatting and gossiping with friends. Teens and children were chatting with one another on the way to school. For
Mokuba Kaiba, it wasn't such a great morning. He was extremely nervous, because last night Serenity, Joey Wheelers little sister, had given up her
virginity to him. If Seto, his older brother found out he had sex, he would kill him. As for Joey, he didn't know that Serenity was even dating. He
would surely kill Mokuba for taking his baby sisters virginity. Mokuba swallowed down his nervousness, deciding to at least tell Joey he made love to
his girlfriend. He quickly walked into Domino high school, searching for his blond hot–headed friend. When he spotted him at the lockers, he
swallowed his nervousness and walked up to him. "Joey, Can I talk to you about something?" He asked nervously. "Um sure squirt, what you want
to talk about?" Joey obviously had been startled, not expecting Mokuba to appear suddenly. "I do not want Seto to know" The raven haired teen
informed him. Hearing this, Joey became concerned. It made him think Mokuba had gotten himself into some real trouble. ''Okay what is it squirt,
are you in trouble?'' Mokuba's eyes widened slightly, realizing how it would have looked to his blond friend. "No I have a girlfriend" Joey raised an
eyebrow at this, confused why

Reflection Paper
By the age of seven, I was sick of school and I wanted out by any means. I went Dorsa elementary school, a local school in East Side San Jose.
Coming from a Latino background, I was at a disadvantage because English was not my first language. So to fix this, the principal, Mrs. Rodriguez,
decided to have an after school program which was meant to keep non native–english speakers for one to two hours after school. Being in class was
hard enough because I didn't understand what the teachers were saying, or let alone care. I used to sit in the back of the small classroom, staring
at the whiteboard or wall, dazed into space. My hands were usually underneath the table and sometimes I would doodle on my class assignments.
This would end up with me getting lectures after class. After each long, boring day, I was forced to stay behind. I used to line up on the blacktop
with a group of non native speakers and a group of teachers would walk us to a random classroom. When I arrived in a classroom, the teachers
would tell us to take a book from the bookshelf. We started out by learning the alphabet, then we used the letters to create words. With those words,
we would have to pronounce them to the best of our ability. After that, the teachers would give us binder paper and crayons. The book was used to
teach us how to write and read. Me along with other students would copy each page of a book word for word, while slowly reading each word. This
made me feel depressed after a good

Mythology In Greek Mythology
Over the recent years, screen–based contents have drastically taken up the attention of those who live in the era built upon electronics. Books have
converted to eBook, class printouts to pdf files, and stories to films. Greek mythology is not an exceptions, in fact, they are one of the most common
characters to be found in various media platforms. Inspired by the original myth, many content producers have modified what is once traditional.
From storylines to characters, creative individuals have incorporated pieces of mythical details into popular culture. One of the most common
adaptation are the characters, from the Olympians to magical beasts, Titans to Nymphs. Although they are the same characters based off of the same
myth, none of the deities are depicted in the same style, different producers have different ways to express each characters. As a fan of modern
adaptations, I wish to perform an analytical comparison between the traditional and modern portrayal of the Olympians in fandom culture. A
stereotypical yet traditional depiction of the Olympians follow a similar patterns, both gods and goddesses would wear the Greco Roman hairstyle
and a white robe which drapes to the ground, a symbol often used to depict those of higher status. Even though each deities is tasked with different
roles, the only factor that tells them apart is an item which symbolizes their roles. As a visual example, the face and proportion of the statue of Hades
and Cerberus (Bubil) ,a former

Gender, Gender And Gender Roles
Gender can sometimes be seen as biological characteristics humans have, when in fact it is the social characteristic ones society deems either
masculine or feminine. Sex, on the other hand, is the biological differences in humans, for example, hormones and sex organs. People usually play
gender roles in society, otherwise known as gender ideology. Gender ideology is when men and women have certain attitudes regarding their 'fixed'
roles, responsibilities and rights. Throughout history men and women have been socialized to play these expected roles that have been placed on
them due to their sex. In my own personal life I have encountered many instances where I have been socialized in relation to sex and gender.
Within each and every society there is this process of learning ones social expectations associated with their own sex. This is known as gender
socialization, and it is why men and women tend to behave differently. Because of gender socialization women can be treated as if they are unequal
to men. For example, in my own life I grew up with an older brother and many other male cousins all close in age. As a very young child, I was
never allowed to play "rough house" with the boys, run around with my top off, or even sit with my legs open. I would see my brother and cousins
playing with their Yu–Gi–Oh cards and action figures, something I always wanted, while I would get dresses and Barbie dolls. It did not bother me
much at the time because I was so young, so I was

Yu-Gi-Oh Game Analysis
1.In the game of Yu–Gi–Oh, there is a lot of give and take when it comes to cards. When determining whether a card is good or not, I often look at
just the good parts of the effect and not the drawbacks. For example, there is a card called Card of Demise. This card allows you to draw until you
have 3 cards in your hand, but you cannot do damage to your opponent for the rest of the turn, you send your entire hand to the Graveyard during the
End Phase, and you cannot Special Summon during the turn you activate this card. While there are some clear negatives to the card, I overlook those
and really only look at the fact that you can draw up to 3 cards, which is unprecedented in Yu–Gi–Oh. While the creators of the card, Konami, try to
make Card... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One cannot see the Yu–Gi–Oh community without a glimpse of bandwagon. While in the card game almost anything can be played within the entire
20 year history, people often flock to bandwagoning the quote best decks. It has even gotten to the point where people come up with a Tier List to
place decks from best to worst, but these list are subjective. While there is potential for any deck to do well in a tournament, one will see the same
decks top because of the numbers that represent those decks at a tournament because of bandwagoning. With groupthink, the community believes those
decks to be the "best" and are the decks that are looked at when it is time to hit cards on the Ban

Personal Narrative Essay
Important events happen in everyone's life. People learn life lessons at young ages through traumatic events and just everyday experiences. I have
a specific memory that really set the tone for how I wanted to live my life. I am the oldest of all my siblings, and it is important to be a good role
model while also learning a lot about life. It was a hot weekend in Arizona, and like every other day I was bored and looking for something to do. I
decided to waste some time by walking around my neighborhood and see if any of my friends were out playing at the park. The idea to stop by the
local gas station crossed my mind as I knew I was going to get thirsty on my venture. I popped the rubber bottom off of my all red piggy bank and
spilled the change all over the floor of my room shared by my brothers. I scanned the change looking for every quarter I could find, knowing that I
wasn't finding and dollars because those have already been spent on Yu–gi–oh cards. Eventually I rounded up enough change to be able to purchase a
cold pop and go about my day. As I head to the door with my shoes on, as soon as I turn the handle I hear my mom yell from her room. "Nigel,
make sure to take your brother with you!" she would always yell from the kitchen or her bedroom. This is probably the worst command your mother
can give you as an older brother. I instantly become responsible for a young child that wants nothing but to do exactly what I am doing. Regardless, I

Guide to Using Prediction in Pokemon Essay
Guide to the Metagame and Prediction This is a guide to the Omega Metagame. It is NOT for looking up BM strategies or Livebattle movesets.
Introduction: Competitive Pokemon Alright, I guess you want to know: what is the Metagame? Simply put, the Metagame is the competitive
part of Pokemon, ranging from tournaments to... tournaments. This is a guide on basically how to WIN, and how do it consistently. Competitive
Pokemon first started in 1996, when the game first came out. Most casual fans picked up the games and went through it, enjoying the adventure and
thrill of their first Pokemon journey. However, certain players saw strategies, combinations of moves, typing, and mechanics that led to a higher level of

So if they switch out... Prediction What is prediction? It's not gazing into the future with a crystal ball (unless you are a gypsy). Prediction in
the Pokemon metagame is when you make an educated guess on what your opponent's next move is, and you prepare for it. Take the example I've
been using so far. You have an Infernape out against Swampert. Infernape nearly stands ZERO chance against Swampert on Omega. So you opt to
switch out, and you decide to go with Venusaur, a Grass–type, which resists Swampert's Ground and Water moves. Your opponent hits you with Surf,
which doesn't do anything against Venusaur, because you switched out. Now comes the prediction part. If Venusaur uses a Grass
–type move, which is
4x effective against a Water/Ground Pokemon, that's basically a guaranteed KO. Assuming your opponent isn't stupid (if he/she is stupid, then don't
even read this guide, because you're going to win regardless), he knows that. And he's going to switch out. But what will he switch to? Well, let's see.
This is a 3 on 3 battle. You have Infernape, Venusaur, and Dugtrio. Your opponent has Swampert, Whimsicott, and Typhlosion. Which of those three
Pokemon your opponent has would be able to take a Grass–type move from Venusaur and then kill it? If you answered the Fire–type Typhlosion, you
would be right. So you decide to take the educated guess that your opponent will switch to

for certain aspects within a school. I want a school like Bristow because everyone I have come in contact with at the school is beyond welcoming
and is willing to help me when I need it. The principal is always visible around the school, I would see him at least twice a day. The principal also
does so much for the teachers and students. He wants everyone to feel appreciated and rewarded for the hard work that they do. All the teachers work
together to enforce rules and procedures to keep the students in check and everything running smoothly. I feel like these aspects are really important
when looking for a school to work at in the future. Finishing up this semester in my practicum placements makes me excited for next semester because
I will have MSD placements which is what I

The button had been pushed. The flames reminded me of the warm–colored walls in her house. As I stood behind the glass, feeling that same heat that
diffused into her body; I watched her become ashes. As I witnessed my older brother break down, I questioned if I had the strength to face reality.
Although I outshine my brothers at being prudent and reliable, I have always found it hard to say that I am the bravest. Normally, I felt inferior to
them because they met society's standards of strength, just by being born male. Whenever my brothers said, "you can't play Yu–Gi–Oh with us" or
"you can't beat me," I believed that I wasn't good enough to do "boy things" with them. I started to underestimate myself. Since I had never been to a

The strong essence from the flowers by her feet made me momentarily forget that I was in a funeral home and not a flower shop. I looked at the
sparkly yellow saree wrapped around her; yellow the color in Hinduism symbolizing that she died before her husband. As I looked at her arms, I
followed the leftover dots from multiple injections. Finally, my eyes made their way up to her face. I couldn't believe that my Aunt Julie was dead.
"Why? Only forty–four years old," I thought to myself as I tried to understand mortality while facing this nightmare. I examined her lips, realizing that
I would never hear that loud mouth again. I stared at her closed eyes, hoping to see the boldness

Isolation In Louis Perez's The History Of Japan
Japanese technology and culture is everywhere today; in my room alone I own a Nintendo 3ds, a Nintendo GameCube, PS3, a Toshiba laptop and
nine box sets of Japanese anime, with a further three series downloaded on my iPod. That isn't even including the book and manga series I own (some
in the original Japanese, some translated into English.) Popular TV shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender now mimic Japanese style of cartoons,
while we have outright adopted other shows as our own, such as Yu–Gi–Oh and Dragon Ball Z. In short, Japanese culture is everywhere, especially if
you know where to look for it. It's everywhere; foreign culture is all around us. It is almost insane to believe that just a little less than two hundred

In fact, not only did they survive, but became a major power in the world, as proven by the Russo–Japanese war, in which the Japanese trounced the
Russians; and even today, they remain an major power, with a major hand in trade. Personally, I am amazed at how quickly Japan managed
modernization; what took Europeans hundreds of years to achieve, they managed to do so in decades. Yes, the Europeans might have 'forced,' the
Japanese to modernize much sooner they otherwise might have, but in truth, I am glad. People own a lot of technology from Japan, a country that
wouldn't have been able to compete with the West two hundred fifty years ago. Now, we regularly buy items from them like smartphones, and gaming
consoles, cars; some of the most cutting–edge technology is from Japan. It's easy to image that if Americans were to cut off ties to Japan today, that
they might outstrip us technologically in a few

Personal Narrative: The Lasting Memory Of My Prep
The darkness of night had veiled the city. Dull beams of the streetlights shone through the moist car windows.
Deafening silence.
The festering disappointment and anger emanating from the front seat was palpable. My parents glared ahead, as I crumpled in the backseat. The
gleam of suppressed tears in my eyes.
Haunted by the spectre of failure, this moment would be the lasting memory of my Prep for Prep experience. Not the accomplishment, the eventual
graduation, or friends I made. I remember my encounter with crushing defeat, overwhelmed by an unfamiliar feeling of self doubt. Prep for Prep is an
organization that dedicates itself to identifying the most academically gifted students of color within New York City, approximately 6,000 candidates
each year. Assessing their academic capabilities through further individual testing and interviews, concluding their process with about 125 students

when confronted with adversity, and left with no choice but to overcome this disheartenment, I not only survived the ordeal, but thrived under the
strenuous circumstances. This quality, this drive is what draws me to UC Berkeley School of Law. Having had the misfortune of completing my

The Movie American History X
Recently I watched the movie American History X. Its major subjects are gang violence and racism, that has been passed on from generation to
generation. It also asked questions like, what were their racist ideas really based on, how did racism effect the community, can racism be reshaped by
actual experiences, and how or why racism to begin with? Racism has been the main topic in the judicial system, police affairs, and racially divided
communities for years but it 's neither disappearing nor growing to this today.
In this movie the main character was a man named Derek. After the death of his father, due to gang violence, he became a racist to all others but white
people. He blamed the lack of jobs and poor wages on the blacks and immigrants. In an interview he had after the death of his father he stated that, it
's all the blacks fault for all the violence in their neighborhood. He also said that, they brought all the diseases like AIDS and it 's their problem and
why did they have to bring it to the white people. Before he vandalized a store, owned by a Chinese man, with his other racist friends he told them
why they were doing this. He told them that these immigrates come here an instead of looking for the American dream they come and take advantage
of it and by firing those who worked there before and hiring Mexicans and blacks, that are willing to work at a low–wage, they make more money. So

Dragon Ball Z's Influence On African American Culture
In the west, Japan is a country known for bustling cities, bullet trains, a rich history of samurai, and wacky popular culture. Two facets of Japanese
popular media that have exploded onto a global scale are manga and anime. The western world considers manga "Japanese comic books and graphic
novels considered collectively as a genre" 1. In Japan however, manga refers to any sort of comic style work, whether produced in Japan by Japanese
people or otherwise. The term anime (an abbreviation for animation), as defined in the west, indicates "a style of animation originating in Japan that is
characterized by stark colorful graphics depicting vibrant characters in action–filled plots often with fantastic or futuristic themes" 2. In Japan, anime

Japan based Fashion brand "Bathing Ape" (Bape), a brand known for producing high quality streetwear and hip–hop fashion clothing, has produced

not a brand that directly relates to African–American culture, many black hip–hop artists and celebrities have been seen wearing Bape and so in this
regard Dragon Ball Z has influenced hip–hop fashion 13. Other examples of Dragon Ball Z's influence can be seen through shirts such as the one
shown in figure 1. The shirt features Frieza from Dragon Ball Z wearing a gold chain, an accessory often associated with hip–hop, and drinking
"purple drank," or "lean," a combination of codeine and promethazine cough syrup, typically mixed with sprite and jolly ranchers, and consumed for a

“There Are Many Things That Could Be Lost And Found Later,
"There are many things that could be lost and found later, but there are some things when lost are lost forever". On the day my grandfather died, my
grandmother uttered these words to me. I was 8 years old. At that time, with my immature mind, I was not able to understand what she meant by that.
Losing things is a common occurrence that happens to everyone; I always thought if I lost something, I could just find it later with a little help of
time. Ever since I met my dear friend Brian Chiu, that was when I truly understood what my grandmother said when some things when lost are lost

Dressed and packed with everything I needed for school, I walked out my door with my head facing forward. On my way, walking to the train station,
I had a tendency of looking around and paying attention to the littlest of things. I saw old pieces of worn–out furniture in the streets ready for pick up,
people walking out of their houses holding a cup of coffee or books in their hands, and cars driving on the streets. As I came to a stop at one

fearing I was going to be late for class, restrained my curiosity and I ran towards the train station. Little did I know, something terrible occurred. After

Does Deviance Always Exist
Deviance will always exist. There will always be a someone that does not agree with the cause. If everyone agrees with eachother, then there will be
no "other possibilities". Deviance is a violation of society norms. It could be behavior, ideas, attributes, abnormal and something that violate rules. It
could be literally anything, from dyeing your hair bright pink to having more than just ear piercings. The ones that get offended by the deviance are
the ones that get to define deviance. They are the ones the see the difference. The offended ones, are the ones that judge and say what they think is
wrong. Most of the stuff that we see now in 2017, would not be normal fifty years ago. For example, same sex marriage has always had diffulculty ...

They would take me to the swapmeet to play Yu–Gi–Oh cards and other arcade games. On top of that I would play all kinds of sports and would wear
basketball shorts all the time. For me that was normal. Until I started seeing the girls in my class wearing make up, doing their hair and wearing
short skirts. Seeing them reminded me of what I was taught. So I ended up doing both. I hated wearing make up because it woud get in my eyes
whenever I would run. I decided to only do my make up, when I would go out but when I would play I would dress however I wanted. As I grew
older I started meeting people who liked the opposite sex, and I thought to myself that it is okay to be different. That I will not stop being friends with
someone just because they like the opposite sex.
Money and occupation plays a big role in the authority and/or power to define deviance. People are most influced by money and power. Usually it is
from lack of money or who they are in life that takes a toll on how people see them.
Definitions of deviance differ from culture to culture, group to group, and time period to time period by the generations. Each generation changes with
experiences or by the people they meet. The experiences are very important because it could change how they see what is right and

Where Are Your Parents? Essay
Not Another Sorry "Where are your parents?" is a question I hear a lot. Over the years this answer has changed. At first the answer is easy.
"Mommy is at work and Daddy is driving." As I got older the answer got changed to "My grandparents are at home." This simple statement prompts
the question of why my grandparents are raising me. The answer to this isn't so simple. It started with my mother not being a fit parent. My dad's
income was truck driving. He couldn't very well take care of the four of us, while he did that. This was a temporary solution, that became a
permanent one only a year into my dad figuring out a real solution. There are certain details that glue to your brain about some events. The first
time your fall off your bike, your first kiss, the first time you get caught smoking pot. I remember very little of my childhood. I know from stories
that is wasn't a good one. I know from the gripping panic I wake up to after a bad dream, that I can't ever remember, it's probably a blessing I don't.
One of the things I can clearly remember happened on May 10, 2002. It was a Friday. I walked home from school to our two story adobe house. The
house was tan, with red trim and it was huge. I could hear our over excited German shepherded fighting our chain linked fence to see who had
approached the house. The neighborhood cats climbed over all the rust colored patio furniture. Some even came to greet me as I attempted to unlock
the door. My grandmother had taken to

My Personal Experience : My Experience In My Life
The water was hitting my face, as steam blew of my body, I changed the hot water to cold. The shower was refreshing me, but I couldn't stop
thinking about all the hardships and obstacles I faced to get to where I am now. The vivid images of all the negative things I went through and a
few positive were filling my head. I couldn't stop comparing the past to the present I was in right now. Even though I lived through a lot of crappy
periods in my life, I ended up learning that through pain we gain hope. All my problems started in elementary, the place I considered living hell.
My living nightmare started around August 2012 as I entered the doors of Imagine Schools at Camelback. What I didn't know when I was
entering those door was the amount of disappointments and betrayals that were waiting for me on the other side. One thing that I still hold up till
now is that if you can keep fighting till the end then there will always be better things waiting for you at the end of the fight. Excitement rushed
through me as I heard the bell ring, so I sprinted towards my first class. I opened the door to the classroom that I would be in most of the time and
looked around. I was searching for potential friends and I found someone who I decided to sit next to. His name was Gerald, as I presented myself I
saw other people coming in. A few hours passed and we got our first homework for the year. Homework that I would intensely do with all my effort,
but in the end was for nothing. As I

Pegasus in Modern Culture
In Greek mythology, Pegasus was the son of Poseidon and Medusa, having sprung from the blood of Medusa as it dropped into the sea after her
head was severed by Perseus. He was captured by Bellerophon at the water of his fountain and was ridden by him when he killed Chimera.
Bellerophon showed disrespect to the Gods as he attempted to ride Pegasus to Mount Olympus and Zeus sent an insect to sting Pegasus and
Bellerophon was thrown back. Pegasus found sanctuary on the sacred mountain, where he carried Zeus' thunderbolts and was ridden by Eos, the
goddess of dawn. Under his feet sprang the sacred springs of the Muses on Mount Helicon.

The "seats" are traditionally in the form of wooden horses, which are often moved mechanically up and down to simulate galloping. One particular

relates to Pegasus, because Pegasus could fly, and also the fact that all the seats are horses. The creators of this carousel either indirectly or directly
based it off of Pegasus, the flying horse.

Yu–Gi–Oh tournament going on in the back of the shop with around ten to fifteen participants, who were all male and generally somewhere between

types of social interaction on display at the tournament were competition, due to them playing a card game where there can only be one winner and
the prize offered for winning. The role the draft players had in society were as competitive card game players. The role of the Yu

Plato Becoming Vs. Being
Introduction
Plato is regarded as one of the most influential philosophers of his time. Many of his ideas have been reconstituted and passed down to find a greater
meaning and understanding of society today. Metaphysics for example, has helped discover the truth or the true form of an object. While, the levels of
reality provide a unique perspective on human nature; the way people react in certain situations; as well as the ideal society according to Plato. Plato's
ideal society [as outlined in the Republic] is one in which the people are not consumed with the surrounding darkness and embrace virtuous practices to
preserve justice for the betterment of society over their own self–interests.
Metaphysics
While some people claim to hold truth, many cannot see the true forms of the world and are therefore the world becomes relative to what they see, feel,
and touch. There are two superior forms of reality explained in Questions that Matter that ultimately help us understand Plato's thesis of the theory of
forms in the Republic; "Becoming vs. Being". The form of
Becoming" is the world within the cave an allegory, or another way to understand it; the world we live in that we can see and touch. The world we can
see, and touch is relative to our own understanding because things are constantly changing. Flowers are growing, trees are dying, organisms are moving
and adapting to their environment; it never stops, and neither does our understanding of it. In this world there can be

I would play a videogame called Yu–Gi–Oh and it was about dueling cards. You could either play with another online player or an animated

The Significance Of The Ten Duel Commandments By Lin-Mel...
It's a simple catchy song which always makes a person who knows proper dueling etiquette cringe, especially with the songs before and after adding to
the heavy sense of historical inaccuracy. While the intent of the "Ten Duel Commandments" is to give the modern audience some knowledge on how
dueling is done, Lin–Mel Miranda has many things wrong within this attempt. He gives a modern viewer an incorrect assumption of the process of
proper pistol dueling. The song gives a list of ten things in a specific order, a parody of the Ten Commandments, leading the listener to believe the
challenge is first. This is sadly out order and very misleading. The second point is happily a bit more reliable information. You do have a second handle
your negotiations, although he left out a few crucial elements. In the description of the duel itself, we have a couple of here and there discrepancies that
finish making this song detrimental to the true understanding of historical duels of this era. The Ten Commandments of the Old Testament is well
known to almost everyone in the modern American public given most of our founding was on Christian doctrine and traditions. This also ties into the
amount of top ten lists that are so popular in American Culture, which has lead to the modern viewer's preconceived notion that something listed as
"Number 1" is the first and most important thing in the list given. In the song, point number one is "The Challenge demands satisfaction. If they

Movie Analysis : Movie Tie Essay
Ever since I could remember, I have been interested in films and film memorabilia. It didn't even have to be legit props that were used on sets of the
films either. I collect film tie–in products also. Back in 2007, I vividly remember having my mom drive me an hour away just so that I could get my
hands on a box of Krusty–O's that were a 7–11 exclusive cereal to promote The Simpsons Movie. I still have a box of important trinkets sitting on a
shelf in my room, next to my Burger King exclusive glass goblets issued in 2001 for LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring, as well as Indiana Jones and the
Crystal Skull popcorn cartons that were sold at Blockbuster in 2008. There is no perubrital movie tie–in rock I have left unturned. What draws me to
collecting movie tie in products? I don't know to be honest. But, I think it has to do with the universal appeal of the marketing. For example, when Star
Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith came out, they released custom made M&M's for the summer of 2005. Not only were the filmmakers appealing
to the already set in audience of the film (Star Wars fans) but now with making M&M's involved in the process, that opened the opportunity to market
to anyone who liked M&M's, anyone who walked inside a grocery store, as well as anyone who was a candy collector. It is the opening up of the target
audience of a product through different means, that fascinates me. It's the fact that through marketing and various partnerships with other companies, the

Gender And Media Analysis
The stereotyping of things is not only in evidence all around us today but is almost a necessity. When the average person is looking for clothes they
have to find the section that will likely have the items that they are looking for. Men go to the men's section, women to the women's section, girls to
the girl's and boys to the boy's. This stereotyping of gender is also found on TV and is displayed by the roles that men/boys and Women/girls occupy.
One has to ask themselves why this is and where do these stereotypical ideas come from. The unfortunate truth is that it begins at birth and continues on
through the informative years of children in today's society.

Yu-Gi-Oh Research Paper

 • 1. Yu-Gi-Oh Research Paper Playing card games that can be easily mastered like GO FISH is not really fun to play all the time. If you're looking for a good hobby to get into, play the trading card game named Yu–Gi–Oh. The steps on how to play this game is quite cumbersome indeed, but with just a few minutes of reading this, you'll be able to pick up a deck of your choice and battle it out with a stranger in a tournament or a friend in your sad little basement. Explaining what Yu–Gi–Oh is will be better for your knowledge about this whole game and its diverse "universe". Yu–Gi–Oh i s an exciting universe based on a card game played with Monsters, Spells, and Traps. The Yu –Gi–Oh franchise covers many media, one of which is manga/anime (cartoons), all of it created by Kazuki ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Main Phase II is the exact phase as Main Phase I, nothing further needs to be explained. With all your actions and phases out of the way in your turn this duel, now comes the End Phase, having you announcing the end of your turn and if you have any cards relating to this End Phase, activate them at once. If you have more than 6 cards in your hand at the end of this phase, select and discard cards to the Graveyard until you only have 6 cards in your greedy little hands. Now that you're done with your turn, it's your friends turn, meaning he follows the same guidelines as you and performs all the required Phases in his turn. After you two are having your little "friendly" bout against each other, whoever gets the other's Life Points down to zero will win the duel you so horribly setup. There are of course some other attributing rules about the Yu–Gi–Oh Trading Card Game such as the list of which cards may be unfair to use and such, but that can be better explained at your resolve if you want. You can find more info about the Yu–Gi–Oh Trading Card Game here at its official website, shortened sweet for you: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
 • 2. Why Is MPH Important To Me For me, growing up I was never really into sports. I was what people today would define as a "nerd". I would sit in the house all day and watch cartoons like Yu–Gi–Oh, PokГ©mon and Naruto, and daydream about being a character in one of these shows. All of my friends were like that too, but I when I came to MPH I was introduced into a new atmosphere. Everyone here for the most part engaged in some type of sport. With a no–cut policy, there was no reason not to play a sport. You didn't have to worry about being good or the most skilled, you could just come out and have a good time. The first sport I was introduced to at MPH was soccer. Now coming from an African decent, with my parents being from Ghana, most people would expect me to be at least ... • 3. Deaf Community Observation Report For my volunteer hours I attended the DeafNation Expo in Kissimmee, Florida. The date of this volunteering experience was March 12th, 2016. Our supervisor at this event was Renee Geary. The volunteers at this event were a mix of students from USF, students from Daytona State College, and high school students from Hagerty High School. The DeafNation Expo is coordinated by DeafNation. DeafNation is a company that focuses on news coverage, social networking, and special events for the greater deaf and hard–of–hearing community. The company was founded in 2003 by Joel and Jed Barish. The DeafNation Expo is an event that provides exhibitions, entertainment, and seminars which all focus on the deaf community. When I arrived to the Expo around 8:00 A.M. I immediately met up with the group of students volunteering, who were gathered around getting instructions from Renee Geary. I introduced myself and Renee showed me our volunteer schedule. For the first couple of hours, my scheduled position was at the front entrance of the building to the event. However, I know that my receptive skills need a lot of improvement, but this event was the perfect time for me to have the opportunity to ask for clarification. Incase most of you are unaware, I use to write Yu–GI–Oh fan fictions just for fun. One of my original OTPs were Kaiba and Tea and I am an azureshipper and still am (and I still ship them. No offense to the Kaiba and Serenity shippers but they do look pretty together but Kaiba needs a strong, bold, assertive woman. I'm not an anti–Silentshipper. I just don't think Serenity would date a guy who practically bullies her brother lol). So anyway...enjoy my first azureshipping fic that I have written in years. Joey was venting to me saying how mad he was you didn't reply to him. He feels like you forgot him." Yugi laughed. Tea rolled her eyes. Joey was annoying. "Tristan...well he's Tristan. • 7. Games : A Possible Means Of Therapy Tabletop games; A Possible Means of Therapy This paper was important for me to research and write because I have several disabling mental health conditions. I see many of the games mentioned later as therapeutic and I find that my mental health becomes more stable after playing tabletop games in a social setting. This is odd as my mental health prevents me from being social in many instants. The importance of mental health and ways to treat them are becoming a concern, and I wanted to find out if my experiences in gaming where studied and if others shared my views. My goal in this paper is to spark an interest in the psychiatric world to do more research on these types of games as a means of therapy or rehabilitation and show how tabletop games of many kinds, affect our mental state and produce a unique environment for mental health experiences. Many people today see tabletop games as just games however I see them as a new means of therapy. Games like Magic the Gathering or Dungeons & Dragons are seen as tabletop games however, they are different. Role–playing games, board games, and trading card games all fall into different subcategories of tabletop gaming, Magic a trading card game; D&D a role–playing game1. Although I had planned to only talk about role–playing games, after researching and conducting interviews I found that tabletop gaming as a whole had so many similarities in their effects. The effects of gaming on mental health are now being studied more frequently as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
 • 8. The Problem Of Teenagers And Teenagers 1.0 Introduction Though marketing to teenagers has increased largely over the past years, it has become more and more of a dilemma for businesses. Many businesses and companies have been widely affected by the lack of interaction between them and teenagers. The main population of teenagers use the internet, or any form of social media, to buy products online. Not many teenagers prefer to go into a store physically and buy the product off the shelf. This is an extreme problem for businesses, for a few businesses do not advertise via the internet. However, there are many factors to this specific problem that can be resolved. 2.0 Current issues that surround marketing to teenagers 2.1 Technology Some businesses try to reach out to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 2.2 Cost Cost can be a major issue when it comes to marketing to teenagers. This can be due to the fact that that many products or businesses that are targeted at teenagers generally tend to be expensive, especially the "trendy" items. This is an issue because majority of teens these days do not have jobs or any source of income to afford these types of items. In fact, this generation of teens are supposedly known to be the "laziest" and "unaware" ("Why 'Generation Z ' Teens Are Being Stereotyped As 'Lazy '", 2017). Even though some teenagers do tend to have jobs and earn money through allowances, this does not mean they are willing to spend hundreds of dollars on expensive brands. Due to this crisis of expensive items targeted at teens, teenagers themselves take it upon themselves to go for the cheaper option or knock off brands. Thus providing less business for companies that sell their products at expensive prices. 2.3 TV Advertisements TV advertisements that are targeted or made for teenagers do not necessarily approach teenagers in the right way. If anything, most television advertisements made for teens tend to look more appropriate for young children. For example, some toy advertisements that are made for teens like, Yu Gi Oh or some board games made for teens, tend to feature more aspects that would reach out to young children. Because of this, teenagers are not interested in these certain television advertisements. However, ads for City Beach or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One way the media has shaped world is how the media affected the ideas and values we have and share throughout our lives. • 10. The Morning After for Mokuba Kaiba It is a beautiful Morning in domino city, the sun was shining and birds were singing. People were making their way to work, chatting on cell phones with business calls, or chatting and gossiping with friends. Teens and children were chatting with one another on the way to school. For Mokuba Kaiba, it wasn't such a great morning. He was extremely nervous, because last night Serenity, Joey Wheelers little sister, had given up her virginity to him. If Seto, his older brother found out he had sex, he would kill him. As for Joey, he didn't know that Serenity was even dating. He would surely kill Mokuba for taking his baby sisters virginity. Mokuba swallowed down his nervousness, deciding to at least tell Joey he made love to his girlfriend. He quickly walked into Domino high school, searching for his blond hot–headed friend. When he spotted him at the lockers, he swallowed his nervousness and walked up to him. "Joey, Can I talk to you about something?" He asked nervously. "Um sure squirt, what you want to talk about?" Joey obviously had been startled, not expecting Mokuba to appear suddenly. "I do not want Seto to know" The raven haired teen informed him. Hearing this, Joey became concerned. It made him think Mokuba had gotten himself into some real trouble. ''Okay what is it squirt, are you in trouble?'' Mokuba's eyes widened slightly, realizing how it would have looked to his blond friend. "No I have a girlfriend" Joey raised an eyebrow at this, confused why ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
 • 11. Reflection Paper By the age of seven, I was sick of school and I wanted out by any means. I went Dorsa elementary school, a local school in East Side San Jose. Coming from a Latino background, I was at a disadvantage because English was not my first language. So to fix this, the principal, Mrs. Rodriguez, decided to have an after school program which was meant to keep non native–english speakers for one to two hours after school. Being in class was hard enough because I didn't understand what the teachers were saying, or let alone care. I used to sit in the back of the small classroom, staring at the whiteboard or wall, dazed into space. My hands were usually underneath the table and sometimes I would doodle on my class assignments. This would end up with me getting lectures after class. After each long, boring day, I was forced to stay behind. I used to line up on the blacktop with a group of non native speakers and a group of teachers would walk us to a random classroom. When I arrived in a classroom, the teachers would tell us to take a book from the bookshelf. We started out by learning the alphabet, then we used the letters to create words. With those words, we would have to pronounce them to the best of our ability. After that, the teachers would give us binder paper and crayons. The book was used to teach us how to write and read. Me along with other students would copy each page of a book word for word, while slowly reading each word. This made me feel depressed after a good ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
 • 12. Mythology In Greek Mythology Over the recent years, screen–based contents have drastically taken up the attention of those who live in the era built upon electronics. Books have converted to eBook, class printouts to pdf files, and stories to films. Greek mythology is not an exceptions, in fact, they are one of the most common characters to be found in various media platforms. Inspired by the original myth, many content producers have modified what is once traditional. From storylines to characters, creative individuals have incorporated pieces of mythical details into popular culture. One of the most common adaptation are the characters, from the Olympians to magical beasts, Titans to Nymphs. Although they are the same characters based off of the same myth, none of the deities are depicted in the same style, different producers have different ways to express each characters. As a fan of modern adaptations, I wish to perform an analytical comparison between the traditional and modern portrayal of the Olympians in fandom culture. A stereotypical yet traditional depiction of the Olympians follow a similar patterns, both gods and goddesses would wear the Greco Roman hairstyle and a white robe which drapes to the ground, a symbol often used to depict those of higher status. Even though each deities is tasked with different roles, the only factor that tells them apart is an item which symbolizes their roles. • 13. Gender, Gender And Gender Roles Gender can sometimes be seen as biological characteristics humans have, when in fact it is the social characteristic ones society deems either masculine or feminine. Sex, on the other hand, is the biological differences in humans, for example, hormones and sex organs. People usually play gender roles in society, otherwise known as gender ideology. Gender ideology is when men and women have certain attitudes regarding their 'fixed' roles, responsibilities and rights. Throughout history men and women have been socialized to play these expected roles that have been placed on them due to their sex. In my own personal life I have encountered many instances where I have been socialized in relation to sex and gender. Within each and every society there is this process of learning ones social expectations associated with their own sex. This is known as gender socialization, and it is why men and women tend to behave differently. Because of gender socialization women can be treated as if they are unequal to men. For example, in my own life I grew up with an older brother and many other male cousins all close in age. As a very young child, I was never allowed to play "rough house" with the boys, run around with my top off, or even sit with my legs open. I would see my brother and cousins playing with their Yu–Gi–Oh cards and action figures, something I always wanted, while I would get dresses and Barbie dolls. When determining whether a card is good or not, I often look at just the good parts of the effect and not the drawbacks. For example, there is a card called Card of Demise. This card allows you to draw until you have 3 cards in your hand, but you cannot do damage to your opponent for the rest of the turn, you send your entire hand to the Graveyard during the End Phase, and you cannot Special Summon during the turn you activate this card. While there are some clear negatives to the card, I overlook those and really only look at the fact that you can draw up to 3 cards, which is unprecedented in Yu–Gi–Oh. I have a specific memory that really set the tone for how I wanted to live my life. I am the oldest of all my siblings, and it is important to be a good role model while also learning a lot about life. It was a hot weekend in Arizona, and like every other day I was bored and looking for something to do. I decided to waste some time by walking around my neighborhood and see if any of my friends were out playing at the park. The idea to stop by the local gas station crossed my mind as I knew I was going to get thirsty on my venture. I popped the rubber bottom off of my all red piggy bank and spilled the change all over the floor of my room shared by my brothers. I scanned the change looking for every quarter I could find, knowing that I wasn't finding and dollars because those have already been spent on Yu–gi–oh cards. Eventually I rounded up enough change to be able to purchase a cold pop and go about my day. As I head to the door with my shoes on, as soon as I turn the handle I hear my mom yell from her room. "Nigel, make sure to take your brother with you!" she would always yell from the kitchen or her bedroom. This is probably the worst command your mother can give you as an older brother. Simply put, the Metagame is the competitive part of Pokemon, ranging from tournaments to... tournaments. This is a guide on basically how to WIN, and how do it consistently. Competitive Pokemon first started in 1996, when the game first came out. Most casual fans picked up the games and went through it, enjoying the adventure and thrill of their first Pokemon journey. Prediction What is prediction? It's not gazing into the future with a crystal ball (unless you are a gypsy). Prediction in the Pokemon metagame is when you make an educated guess on what your opponent's next move is, and you prepare for it. Take the example I've been using so far. You have an Infernape out against Swampert. Infernape nearly stands ZERO chance against Swampert on Omega. So you opt to switch out, and you decide to go with Venusaur, a Grass–type, which resists Swampert's Ground and Water moves. Your opponent hits you with Surf, which doesn't do anything against Venusaur, because you switched out. Now comes the prediction part. If Venusaur uses a Grass –type move, which is 4x effective against a Water/Ground Pokemon, that's basically a guaranteed KO. Assuming your opponent isn't stupid (if he/she is stupid, then don't even read this guide, because you're going to win regardless), he knows that. And he's going to switch out. But what will he switch to? Well, let's see. This is a 3 on 3 battle. You have Infernape, Venusaur, and Dugtrio. Your opponent has Swampert, Whimsicott, and Typhlosion. Which of those three Pokemon your opponent has would be able to take a Grass–type move from Venusaur and then kill it? If you answered the Fire–type Typhlosion, you would be right. So you decide to take the educated guess that your opponent will switch to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

"Oh hey you're up and you seem to be doing better," he smiles "Y–y–yeah are one of you to the one who brought me here?" she gets nervous "That ones Yusei, by the way i'm Crow as you might have heard," he smiles "Hey," Yusei smiles "You brought me here," "Yeah," "Did you find my cards I need those," "Yeah they're right here" Yusei said, taking her cards out of his pocket. Her eyes get large "Oh thank goodness you guys are ok" she said to her cards More specifically the one that Yusei picked up when he found her and another card. They both look at her like she is crazy. "Are you talking to your cards?" Crow asked in confusion "Yes, don't you guys?" • 32. Where Are Your Parents? Essay Not Another Sorry "Where are your parents?" is a question I hear a lot. Over the years this answer has changed. At first the answer is easy. "Mommy is at work and Daddy is driving." As I got older the answer got changed to "My grandparents are at home." This simple statement prompts the question of why my grandparents are raising me. The answer to this isn't so simple. It started with my mother not being a fit parent. My dad's income was truck driving. He couldn't very well take care of the four of us, while he did that. This was a temporary solution, that became a permanent one only a year into my dad figuring out a real solution. There are certain details that glue to your brain about some events. The first time your fall off your bike, your first kiss, the first time you get caught smoking pot. I remember very little of my childhood. I know from stories that is wasn't a good one. I know from the gripping panic I wake up to after a bad dream, that I can't ever remember, it's probably a blessing I don't. One of the things I can clearly remember happened on May 10, 2002. It was a Friday. I walked home from school to our two story adobe house. The house was tan, with red trim and it was huge. I could hear our over excited German shepherded fighting our chain linked fence to see who had approached the house. The neighborhood cats climbed over all the rust colored patio furniture. Some even came to greet me as I attempted to unlock the door. My grandmother had taken to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
 • 33. My Personal Experience : My Experience In My Life The water was hitting my face, as steam blew of my body, I changed the hot water to cold. The shower was refreshing me, but I couldn't stop thinking about all the hardships and obstacles I faced to get to where I am now. The vivid images of all the negative things I went through and a few positive were filling my head. I couldn't stop comparing the past to the present I was in right now. Even though I lived through a lot of crappy periods in my life, I ended up learning that through pain we gain hope. All my problems started in elementary, the place I considered living hell. My living nightmare started around August 2012 as I entered the doors of Imagine Schools at Camelback. What I didn't know when I was entering those door was the amount of disappointments and betrayals that were waiting for me on the other side. One thing that I still hold up till now is that if you can keep fighting till the end then there will always be better things waiting for you at the end of the fight. Excitement rushed through me as I heard the bell ring, so I sprinted towards my first class. I opened the door to the classroom that I would be in most of the time and looked around. I was searching for potential friends and I found someone who I decided to sit next to. His name was Gerald, as I presented myself I saw other people coming in. A few hours passed and we got our first homework for the year. Homework that I would intensely do with all my effort, but in the end was for nothing. As I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
 • 34. Pegasus in Modern Culture In Greek mythology, Pegasus was the son of Poseidon and Medusa, having sprung from the blood of Medusa as it dropped into the sea after her head was severed by Perseus. He was captured by Bellerophon at the water of his fountain and was ridden by him when he killed Chimera. Bellerophon showed disrespect to the Gods as he attempted to ride Pegasus to Mount Olympus and Zeus sent an insect to sting Pegasus and Bellerophon was thrown back. Pegasus found sanctuary on the sacred mountain, where he carried Zeus' thunderbolts and was ridden by Eos, the goddess of dawn. Under his feet sprang the sacred springs of the Muses on Mount Helicon. One particular carousel is named "Flying Horses," located in Martha's Vineyard, in Massachusetts. It was the first carousel ever built. The name, "Flying Horses," relates to Pegasus, because Pegasus could fly, and also the fact that all the seats are horses. The creators of this carousel either indirectly or directly based it off of Pegasus, the flying horse. Pegasus also is evident in today's ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
 • 35. Plattsburgh Observation For my observation I went to Medusa Comics & Cards in Plattsburgh and participated in a Magic: the Gathering (MTG), draft tournament on the 18th of March during the afternoon, along with seven other participants all being male. Draft is an MTG format where each participant gets three booster packs, and take turns picking a card from each of the packs as they rotate around the table, keeping the cards they pick. At the time there was also a Yu–Gi–Oh tournament going on in the back of the shop with around ten to fifteen participants, who were all male and generally somewhere between eight to fourteen years old, although there were a few young adults present as well and one sixty year old. The MTG draft tournament cost thirty dollars to enter,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason for their warmth might be in their reason for going to the draft, which was to have some fun matches against other people and hopefully open an eighty dollar card. Those of the draft and those playing in the Yu–Gi–Oh tournament were part of a party group and a secondary group. The types of social interaction on display at the tournament were competition, due to them playing a card game where there can only be one winner and the prize offered for winning. The role the draft players had in society were as competitive card game players. The role of the Yu –Gi–Oh group is more interesting however, paraphrasing from what the owner of the store said about his interaction with the Yu –Gi–Oh players, is that the store is essentially a "daycare center" for the kids playing there. The parents come in and drop off their kids to play a card game for three to five hours on a weekend while they get some alone time. It is also of note that only one three females entered the store while I was there, my mother, a parent and a teenager with some male friends and did not stay for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
 • 36. Plato Becoming Vs. Being Introduction Plato is regarded as one of the most influential philosophers of his time. Many of his ideas have been reconstituted and passed down to find a greater meaning and understanding of society today. Metaphysics for example, has helped discover the truth or the true form of an object. While, the levels of reality provide a unique perspective on human nature; the way people react in certain situations; as well as the ideal society according to Plato. Plato's ideal society [as outlined in the Republic] is one in which the people are not consumed with the surrounding darkness and embrace virtuous practices to preserve justice for the betterment of society over their own self–interests. Metaphysics While some people claim to hold truth, many cannot see the true forms of the world and are therefore the world becomes relative to what they see, feel, and touch. There are two superior forms of reality explained in Questions that Matter that ultimately help us understand Plato's thesis of the theory of forms in the Republic; "Becoming vs. Being". The form of Becoming" is the world within the cave an allegory, or another way to understand it; the world we live in that we can see and touch. The world we can see, and touch is relative to our own understanding because things are constantly changing. Flowers are growing, trees are dying, organisms are moving and adapting to their environment; it never stops, and neither does our understanding of it. In this world there can be ... She explains how people watch the news every day for information on what's going happening in today's world however, Virtual Reality can expose people to the actual feeling and emotion by being there in projection. Nonny de la Pena states "I can put you on scene in the middle of the story", through Virtual Reality. "It's an experience you can remember with your entire body and not just with your mind". One specific piece she worked on was about refugee kids and how they were most affected by the Syrian Civil War. I would play a videogame called Yu–Gi–Oh and it was about dueling cards. You could either play with another online player or an animated character. It felt like I was actually playing against another person and was very engaging and lifelike. The movie I watched was called The Matrix which was about a man named Thomas A. Anderson would lead a double life. By day he was an average computer programmer and by night he was referred to as Neo, a computer hacker who must help people that are imprisoned in an artificial reality known as the Matrix. Both of these are examples of VR and represent how people and I take VR back into our lives to express and inform people what we believe to be a different form of reality. In conclusion, Virtual Reality comes from many different places and in many different forms. Whether it be from the media, playing a videogame or even just everyday life experiences. • 38. The Significance Of The Ten Duel Commandments By Lin-Mel... It's a simple catchy song which always makes a person who knows proper dueling etiquette cringe, especially with the songs before and after adding to the heavy sense of historical inaccuracy. While the intent of the "Ten Duel Commandments" is to give the modern audience some knowledge on how dueling is done, Lin–Mel Miranda has many things wrong within this attempt. He gives a modern viewer an incorrect assumption of the process of proper pistol dueling. The song gives a list of ten things in a specific order, a parody of the Ten Commandments, leading the listener to believe the challenge is first. This is sadly out order and very misleading. The second point is happily a bit more reliable information. You do have a second handle your negotiations, although he left out a few crucial elements. In the description of the duel itself, we have a couple of here and there discrepancies that finish making this song detrimental to the true understanding of historical duels of this era. The Ten Commandments of the Old Testament is well known to almost everyone in the modern American public given most of our founding was on Christian doctrine and traditions. This also ties into the amount of top ten lists that are so popular in American Culture, which has lead to the modern viewer's preconceived notion that something listed as "Number 1" is the first and most important thing in the list given. In the song, point number one is "The Challenge demands satisfaction. If they apologize ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
 • 39. Movie Analysis : Movie Tie Essay Ever since I could remember, I have been interested in films and film memorabilia. It didn't even have to be legit props that were used on sets of the films either. I collect film tie–in products also. Back in 2007, I vividly remember having my mom drive me an hour away just so that I could get my hands on a box of Krusty–O's that were a 7–11 exclusive cereal to promote The Simpsons Movie. I still have a box of important trinkets sitting on a shelf in my room, next to my Burger King exclusive glass goblets issued in 2001 for LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring, as well as Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull popcorn cartons that were sold at Blockbuster in 2008. There is no perubrital movie tie–in rock I have left unturned. What draws me to collecting movie tie in products? I don't know to be honest. But, I think it has to do with the universal appeal of the marketing. For example, when Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith came out, they released custom made M&M's for the summer of 2005. Not only were the filmmakers appealing to the already set in audience of the film (Star Wars fans) but now with making M&M's involved in the process, that opened the opportunity to market to anyone who liked M&M's, anyone who walked inside a grocery store, as well as anyone who was a candy collector. It is the opening up of the target audience of a product through different means, that fascinates me. It's the fact that through marketing and various partnerships with other companies, the ... • 40. Gender And Media Analysis The stereotyping of things is not only in evidence all around us today but is almost a necessity. When the average person is looking for clothes they have to find the section that will likely have the items that they are looking for. Men go to the men's section, women to the women's section, girls to the girl's and boys to the boy's. This stereotyping of gender is also found on TV and is displayed by the roles that men/boys and Women/girls occupy. One has to ask themselves why this is and where do these stereotypical ideas come from. The unfortunate truth is that it begins at birth and continues on through the informative years of children in today's society.
