Westie Body Research Paper
The Westie body is cut in the same way as the Schnauzer with the face being cut circular and having pointed ear tips, this can be achieved as
follows. With the dog facing you, comb the hair above the eyes to form a fringe, using scissors cut straight across the fringe and comb it backwards,
now comb the hair at the side of the eyes and hold the hair outwards between two fingers, cut the hair in a curved motion close to the fingers and
towards the fringe, repeating the same process on the other side. This should then give a small visor effect around the eyes. Repeat this all over the
head from front to back curving the scissors around the head creating the now circular shape. Comb the hair through and ensure it is all the same
length, the hair

The Pros And Cons Of The Pilgrims
The first Europeans had arrived to North America, and it's safe to say that that they weren't exactly prepared to face the hardships ahead of them.
Unfortunately they had to go through a hard winter which killed many of the Pilgrims that had come here, about 54 of them to be exact. Without a
doubt they couldn't survive on their own in the New World without a little help, and that is when Natives took notice. The Natives had come to the
Pilgrims and through one native who knew broken english, brought the Pilgrims to their chief. From then on both sides have worked together, and
with benefit, since they needed to work together to survive cause the Natives knew the land and the Pilgrims had more advanced technology, it was
essential for both sides to work together. There are examples in "In Plymouth Plantation" several times that the Natives and Pilgrims need to work
together in order to survive.
Back in the winter the pilgrims had a terrible time trying to survive. It had been a long journey already and now without knowing the land itself it
would be worse later on. Winter had passed but then came along a Native named Samoset. Samoset came to them speaking broken english but the
Pilgrims who just had survived a hard time we're marveled that he could speak english at all. As example by this excerpt "a certain Indian came boldly
amongst them and spoke to them in broken English, which they could well understand but marveled at it."(In Plymouth Plantation, Section 5: Indian

Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde Good Vs Evil
"A moment before I had been safe of all men's respect, wealthy, beloved–the cloth laying for me in the dining–room at home; and now I was the
common quarry of mankind, hunted, houseless, a known murderer, thrall to the gallows." The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, written
by Robert Louis Stevenson, explains that everyone has a dark side to them. In Dr. Jekyll's case, it was Mr. Hyde. As the book goes on, Mr. Jekyll's
dark side soon becomes stronger than the good side and takes over the body. Many people question which theme fits best with this book, since many
themes show as you read on. On one side of the debate, people think there are better fitting themes for The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
such as violence because of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although some argue that Good vs. Evil is not the best fitting theme because if one side of a person is evil, the whole is evil. Certainly, this may be
true, but Dr.Jekyll was always trying to right Mr. Hyde's wrongs. Throughout the book, Dr.Jekyll does all he can to be in control of his dark side.
He tries to cover his mistakes up and fight the urge to transform into Hyde. He fights for his good side to win. First, the text explains, "Yes, I had
gone to bed Henry Jekyll, I had awakened Edward Hyde." (68). Mr. Hyde was starting to become the dominant side. Dr. Jekyll was afraid after this
event had occurred. Following this, Dr. Jekyll had made a promise to himself that he wouldn't turn into Hyde anymore because it had gotten out of
control. Secondly, the author points out, "I have been doomed to such a dreadful shipwreck: that man is not truly one, but truly two." (61). This
quote explains that there is a good and evil side to every man. But, in Jekyll's case, one side, the evil side, can and will eventually grow with power.
Thirdly, the book cites, "I bring the life of that unhappy Henry Jekyll to an end." (78). In the end, Jekyll must commit suicide to keep Mr. Hyde from
taking over his whole body. This action proves that the the good side did everything he could to keep the bad side from being in control, even if that
means death. Given these points, it is clear that, Good vs. Evil is the theme because good must strive to

Nature Vs. Nurture Influences Personality
Nature is genetics and it influences personality. Take Anais and sam, for example, they were separated at birth and were raised across the globe
yet they both like the same things. They are outgoing and have the same sense of humor. They were very dramatic and spoke with their hands. So
many things are the same with them even though they were raised across the world. Another good example of nature are the Jim twins. They were
raised in different homes but are very alike. They chose to buy the same car, same cigarettes, and even the same beer. They both became deputy
sheriffs. Both named their children James Allen. They were both very involved in woodworking. My favorite piece of evidence is jack and oscar.
Even though Jack was raised Jewish and Oscar was raised nazi they are strikingly similar. They walk alike talk alike and even have the same
opinion on certain foods. They wore the same jacket and same glasses when they met each other. Another thing they like to do is scare people with
very loud sneezes. These are all the facts I have compiled for the nature side of view, but now we can take a look at nurture side of view. Nurture is
your environment and it also helps shape personality. A good example of nurture is the feral child Oxana. She was raised by dogs. She would walk and

The reason I think this is because of the fact that my older sister goes back and forth between parents. Parts of her personality are clearly from her
the other side and not from mine. For example, she loves fishing even though my mom does not. And for the other side, my sister likes to play
video games but her dad does not. Or my friend Riley, he has an adopted sister that acts like everyone else in that house. Another example is me.
When I was younger I did not care about wasps, hornets, and bees but now I am terrified of them because my mom and dad don't like

Themes In Mexican White Boy
For better or for worse, what race we are makes up a significant part of our identity and influences our everyday lives. Racial identity is a theme in
Mexican Whiteboy, a novel by Matt De La PeГ±a, where he follows Danny, a teen baseball player who is from Latino and white descent as he
struggles to fit in with both races he's a part of. Danny adores his Latino father, who fled the family to live in Mexico, and while his Mexican side of
the family accepts him, he still feels like an outsider. Race is also explored, a poem written by Rudolpho Gonzales. The main person of the poem,
Joaquin, is a mix of Spanish and Indian, giving him ancestors of both sides of the history talked about in the novel. Like Danny, Joaquin experiences a

himself as the oppressed and the oppressor. In result of this, he blames himself and his white heritage for the times experienced by both sides of his
heritage. They both see their white ancestry as a low point to their whole lives. Both Danny and Joaquin's identity conflicts help them grow on a
personal basis, but each in different ways. At the end of Danny's summer, he spends his final night surrounded by his friends. Sophia makes a
comment about how Danny is tough like Uncle Ray. 'So, now you're a fighter, cuz? Mr. Tough Guy like Uncle Ray?' (De la Pena ch. 29). Danny does

Gun Control And The Safety Of The Future
Gun Control
"We must respect the past, and mistrust the present, if we wish to provide for the safety of the future" was a quote by Joseph Joubert, a well–known
essayist, put it simply. People ought to learn from and respect the past, don't trust the present, all to make the future better. This is something to
always live by because the past is not always right and the future should be provided for. Joubert had the right idea. Everyone could learn from his
ideology even if they do not completely agree. A topic that is relevant right now and to this quote is gun control. Owning guns is our constitutional
right. Many people take that right too far by purchasing military grade firearms. People have become divided on this very current issue. Some say
there should be stronger restrictions on purchasing or owning a firearm, while other say there should not be stronger restrictions on purchasing or
owning a firearm. Regardless of opinion, now is the right time for both sides to reach a compromise about this very important issue. For the group that
supports stronger gun control, their belief is justified. One reason for stronger control is that the second amendment was planned for militia back in
colonial america. Colonists used guns for hunting, the Revolutionary war, and protection. At this time it was required by law that all men eligible for
militia to own a gun ("Background"). The need for able men to fight was a concern in Colonial America. Furthermore, supporters of

Hamlet's Defense In Hamlet
The tragedy based play, Hamlet, was written by William Shakespeare between the years 1601 and 1603. The play is a story about revenge, what is
morally correct and wrong, and is themed around the previously aforementioned topic, tragedy. The main character, Hamlet, has been struck with the
tragedies of his father's quietus and the quick re–marriage of his mother to his uncle. Now as with any great argument there needs to be a main point, a
claim so to speak, and the claim to this argument is about whether Hamlet's behaviors are in agreement with the societal expectations and political
views during the Middle Ages. To make things easier, names will be given to those who are on both sides of the claim, so those who are in agreement
with the claim will be called the defense, and those who expostulate the claim will be the prosecution. With this argument, the prosecution, those who
disagree with the claim, will be the side that is being argued for and believed in.
In this argument, the metaphorical defense of the claim, believes that Hamlet's actions are in agreement with the societal expectations and political
views of the Late Middle Ages. Now this agreement can be believable with the evidence to support it, which the defense can find as in any other
given argument or disagreement. There are a few types of evidence that the defense could've found, such as things like the political, social, and
psychological factors that could prove their side of the claim. A piece of evidence

Bias Against Israel
In this world today one topic appears in the news almost daily. Israel and the Gaza Strip. The conflict has been ongoing since 1948 when the Arab
League failed to support their allies in Gaza attacking Israeli forces. Now the region is wrought with conflict and is the breeding ground for terrorists
and recently ISIL forces. HAMAS (The governing arm of the Palestinians in the Gaza strip) and Israel should be forced to come to the negotiation
table to eliminate the conflict and bring stability to the region. After several failed peace talks the two factions have commenced the launching of
missiles into each other's territory; both sides lack of regard for collateral damage has led to the deaths of over 2,000 civilian casualties alone from

The Giver By Lois Lowry: Character Analysis
Wisdom is not a product of schooling, but a lifelong attempt to acquire it,–– Albert Einstein. This quote ties in very well with a book, "The Giver" by,
Lois Lowry. It starts with an 11–year–old boy named Jonas. Jonas lives in a community that is perfect. No war, starvation or divorce. He lives with
his assigned parents and friends. The residents in this town have only good memories and experiences, but to grow into a whole individual you
need to be exposed to both the good and bad things in the world. When exposed to good things, it brings out people's good side. Bad experiences
bring out people's sensitive or protected side, together they are building a person's personality into a whole individual. Favorable memories and
experiences will bring out the happier side in people. On page 52 of the giver Jonas is having his first memory, "the sled, with Jonas himself on it

Jonas pronounced on page 167 that, "he had never recognized it as a game of war before"(lowry). The game he was referring to, was a game of
good guys and bad guys. After the memory, in which he had learned about war in, his sensitive side made him tell his friends to quit playing it.
When the giver showed Jonas what releases was, "the memory came back, he killed it, my father killed it"(Lowry 188). Jonas realized that his
community was, in fact, a very cruel place. Alo realizes that the simple release of a baby, what he once thought as happy and peaceful, now as murder.
This bad experience brings out his protective side and makes him run away with Gabriel the newborn his family was going to release. Overall, this is
proving how bad experiences make a person who they are, just like a good

Trigonometry: Right Triangle Trigonometry
Right Triangle Trigonometry is the study of triangle measurements. When the Egyptians first used a sundial around 1500 B.C., they were using
trigonometry (Burrill, Gail p 376). Trigonometric ratio is a ratio of the lengths of two sides of a right triangle. The three common ratios. They are sin,
cosine, and tangent. They have abbreviations are sin, cos, and tan. The triangle shown to the left is a right triangle. Each side has a number because that
is its side length. As we see there is a number 5. This side is called the hypotenuse. The hypotenuse is always the side the is directly across from the 90o
angle. There is a number 3. This side is called adjacent. And there is also a number 4. This side is called opposite. There is an acronym... Show more

Give the lengths to the nearest tenth. There are many ways to get started, but today we are going to start off with the side XW. We first need to
find out what a is. You can use a calculator. We know that a is opposite of angle Y. So now if you see we are able to use the tangent function
because we have the opposite side of 65 degrees and the adjacent side of 65 degrees which is 5. So Tan 65o= a/5. Now we can solve for a. So we
are going to multiply both sides of the equation by 5. And we are left with a= 5 x tan 650. Now we can get our calculators out and figure out what
this is to the nearest tenth. Now the number you will get is 10.7225346025. But it says to round to the nearest tenth. So the answer for a is
approximately equal to 10.7. So we now know that a has an approximate length of 10.7. Now its time to tackle the side YW. We can go two ways,
we can use Trigonometric Function, or we can use the Pythagorean Theorem. I am going to use the Trigonometric Functions. So Cosine deals with
the Adjacent over the Hypotenuse. To continue we are going to take cos 65o= 5/b. and then we multiply both sides by b, and you are left with b x
cos 65o = 5. And then to solve for b you are going to divide both sides by cos 65o which is equal to b=5/cos 65o. And now you ender that into your
Calculator and you end up with b is approximately 11.8. We are almost done salving this right triangle. The next thing we do is we need to find the
measure of

Jazz Music In West Side Story And Romeo And Juliet
In my essay I am going to bring up three different topics. How jazz music makes West Side Story be evocative of the decade in which it was written,
how gang related music would change West Side Story and Romeo and Juliet, and further how different Romeo and Juliet would be if they would of
sang rather than spoke their soliloquy. Each of these topics has gang related actions and how music defines the gangs.
In West Side Story both Acts 1 and 2 are mostly instrumental, allowing suspense to form in each scene. In the 1950's, gangs are growing more and
more. With West Side Story being in New York, there were the Jets and the Sharks.Jazz music help bring out the actions in each of the two gangs and
helps bring out each of the characters and shows who they really are. In 'Tonight,' the characters are reflecting on their hopes and dreams. Bernstein
crafted the music to mirror the visions of each character. Jazz music helps build suspense in many scenes in West Side Story, for instance, in "The
Gangs Fight in the Street," the music starts to become allegro and the snaps of their fingers build the suspense even more. The jazz helps show the
differences in each gang and how their actions are like that of the sounds of jazz orchestra. West Side Story also has classical andpop music played
throughout it, and at certain instances all three can be heard together. At the very end of the musical, the music become piano; and the hurt and anger
from Maria is radiated from the music choice.

War Changes Throughout Time
When you think about war you think about fighting, allies, and death. But the idea or even meaning of war is not the same as it was 150 years
ago. The idea of war has and never will be based solely on skill or intellect. Sure they're not going to give an untrained man a gun but the idea of
war is far more perplexed than just that. Its about honor, integrity, and discipline. War has not only changed over the past 150 years but in the 3 or 4
years that war is actually going on. People, weapons, and motives are all changing from the time the first boy takes a step onto the journey to finding
himself. From the first face you see to the last everything changes some good, some bad but in the end all you can do is march forward.
War has changed in many ways one being the sensitivity of war. It has decreased from the the moment the war starts to the very end of it. In both
The Red Badge of Courage and Alls Quiet on The Western front both Paul and Henry were excited to go and to use real guns and weapons. But in
that moment when they kill their first target it affects them on a deeper, more personal level. In The Red Badge of Courage Henry was very excited
to go to war and still went even when his mom advised against it. He was thought he was totally prepared for anything that could happen, then he saw
his first battle and heard his first stories of battle. This made him very uneasy. When he saw the first people being killed, some his friends, he thought it

Essay Comparing Heart Of Darkness And Apocalypse Now
If a person feels strongly about their beliefs, if they are not careful, they can suffer from a heightened sense of self–worth. The greatest struggle a
person can go through is trying to get out of their own heads and stop themselves from feeling above anybody else, because in the end, each person
deserves the same treatment because they all born the same and they will all suffer the same fate in the end. Heart of Darkness, written by Joseph
Conrad, and Apocalypse Now, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, both feature a similar scene that demonstrates how cruel, violent human relation can
never be justified because, in the end, each and every person is on the same level. Both of the Apocalypse Now and Heart of Darkness scenes display

Both scenes portray their main character as one with little care or emotion attached to what is going on around them, even though they are in a
perilous situation. "Willard" from Apocalypse Now acts relatively normal after the natives attack his crew, as if nothing actually happened. Similarly,
"Marlow" from Heart of Darkness shows little reaction to the death of the Mad Helmsman, even describing the scene simply as "A pool of blood lay
very still, gleaming dark–red..." (Conrad 106). He doesn't show any wild reaction or emotion towards what he saw. In contrast, the crews in both
scenes react wildly to the situation. The crew in Apocalypse Now speak frantically towards each other, yelling out "Clean! Captain, Clean's hit!
He's hit!" and "Where'd the dog go? Where's the dog? We gotta go back and get the dog!" The Heart of Darkness crew reacts similarly, with the
manager, shocked at the body of the Mad Helmsman, yells out, "Good God" (Conrad 106). Willard and Marlow both understood that this would
happen, and that any person could suffer this fate, which is something the rest of their crews failed to realize, which is why their reactions differed so

331 ≤ 330Although it is very close, this combination of TV's and refrigerators will not fit in the truck. Therefore, the statement is false. My

will work this test point just as the last. 329 ≤ 330This will be a tight fit, but all of the cargo will be able to make it onto the truck. Now I have
to figure out a minimum or maximum allowance of cargo to be found. The Burbank Buy More is going to make an order which will include, at
most, 60 refrigerators. What is the maximum number of TV's that could also be delivered on the same truck? To find the answer, I will plug 60
into the x place of my inequality and solve for y. Is my inequality replace x with 60 multiply, then subtract 180 from both sides This is the
maximum amount of TV's that can be shipped with the refrigerators. For the second scenario, the Burbank Buy More decides to have a television
sale so they change their order to include at least 200 TV's. I need to figure out the maximum number of refrigerators that can be shipped in the same
truck. I start with the same inequality. Replace y with 200 and solve for x Subtract 200 from each side Now I divide both sides by 3 This means that
no more than 43 refrigerators can be shipped with the

Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde Analysis
The reason The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson is vital to the rehabilitation of prisoners is because it teaches a
powerful lesson on actions and there consequences. By Dr. Jekyll continually choosing to change into Mr. Hyde and feeding his evil side, he
enabled Mr. Hyde to overpower him and become the more dominant personality. Which is shown on p. 72 when it states, "...it seemed only by a
great effort as of gymnastics, and only under the stimulation of the drug, that I was able to wear the countenance of Jekyll." Dr. Jekyll has now been
confined to his home because at any moment he could change to his other self and would be without explanation to his friends and family. Now

has become so obsessed with the power that comes from not having to follow the rules and obey society's social codes that it has changed the balance
between Jekyll's good and evil side. Which is similar to how prisoners tend to become addicted to different illegal activities that make them feel
invincible or in charge. In both scenarios, the power and invincibility lead to an unhappy ending, with long–lasting damage to the prisoner and the
people associated with them. Dr. Jekyll tried to cheat his inner nature by allowing both sides of himself, good and evil, to coexist into two different
identities in hopes that this separation would enable him to essentially enjoy both sides of himself at different

After Italy had been invaded by the US and the British, one of their goals was to demolish the fascist government, in which they succeeded.
Mussolini was in power for about a month before he was overthrown on July 24, 1943. Before doing so, the leader had gone to his allie Hitler and

Compare And Contrast West Side Story And Romeo And Juliet
The story of Romeo & Juliet by William Shakespeare and the text West Side Story written by Arthur Laurents both approach the two main themes of
love and violence. Both stories are much the same in numerous of ways, though their conditions are generations apart. Similarly, the two authors both
deal with (other themes,) such as Fate, Honour and Death. Romeo & Juliet and West Side Story separately teach a lesson of how conflict can cause
you to learn to hate others instead of learning to love. But the main two characters of each story defy it. Firstly, Love, Hate, Violence and Death is just
few of the many themes that William Shakespeare explores in Romeo & Juliet. Romeo & Juliet are the original star–crossed lovers, distanced from
each other due to the endless feud between their families. Though they are the least likely people to be with each other, they seem to defy everything
their families stand for and learn to love one another. Love and conflict being the strongpoint of themes in the text, but of these themes are not as
simple as they seem. William Shakespeare makes these themes more complexed and stretched out. Romeo and Juliet loved each other but were set up
to die due to their families blind and ongoing conflict. Now think of these themes as a tree. Hate leading to conflict and love, Conflict and love
leading to violence and death. Hate had cause both the conflict and the love between Romeo & Juliet and the endless feud between their families.

In all that we learn, finding peace in all the hurt and happiness, tears and laughter, and ups and downs is not an easy thing. Finding the inspiration to
accomplish the things that will make us feel like fulfilled human beings is not an simple task. Like a wise person once said "Why is it that the deeper
you go, the bigger it gets?" What drives great men to do great things? What drives evil men to do evil things? How can I find the courage inside me to
accomplish all that I want to do, much less, figure out what I want to do? Life is full of different choices, which inevitably lead to different questions.

Why are we so afraid of what's on the other side of the border? Zen is the psychology of accepting both sides. It is accepting that good and evil are both
a part of your life, so there is no need to strive for one or fear the other. Pain is essential for pleasure, if pleasure is to be known as pleasure.
Therefore, denial of one of these sides is like denying the existence of both ends. If we believe that evil cannot exist, then good cannot exist, because
then there is nothing to compare it to. However, if we accept that both good and evil exist in our lives, it can allow us to feel more at home in the
world. We can feel that the world is already whole, and that our lives are already perfect because we are living it. Acceptance also opens up the
freedom in our lives. By accepting that we could one day be a failure, we start removing the fear of failure from our want to succeed. Our striving to
succeed is then a choice, and not a product of our fear. Through our acceptance of our own fears, we will conquer them. But what is truly accepting
everything in life? How can we truly accept everything that happens to us? Would making an effort to change be just another attempt to escape an
aspect of ourselves? After all, to truly be accepting, you have to accept that you may not be truly accepting, right? Acceptance is not changing things at
all, yet at the same

Jerry Brown Vaccination Controversy
Jerry Brown has signed a 'controversial' legislation. Senate Bill 277 is trying be passed through each state, and now passed by Mississippi and
West Virginia. The bill is about that all school kids have be vaccinated. Due to the outbreak of me seals in Disneyland Jerry Brown and Richard Pan
are pushing for this to be passed. It's one of the 'strictest' bills that has ever been passed about vaccines. In the bill itself it says that if your child does
not get vaccinated for the 10 shots then they have to attend homeschool, unless a doctor has proven that your child cannot get this vaccine. Now this
bill removes personal belief exemptions, including religious objections for vaccinations (Chabria). Now if they child does not get vaccinated they...

The petitioners have until 31 December 2015 to gather the necessary support. If they are successful, an election for Pan's seat would be held
within 180 days after the secretary of state verifies the signatures. (Chabria) Through the research from July 30, 2015 and until August 3, 2015 the
topic has been heating up. Both sides are not backing down. While the opponents are gathering Signatures, the other side is trying to get others to
join them as well. The key element in all these articles is if either this is a good decision or not. Each story gave new evidence about the topic. One
article explained that you child might have to pumped with more than 40 doses of vaccines, while another said that there are only 10 required.
Although what stops them from adding the next 30 to the list? Nothing. The state can actually add any other vaccines to this list when it's past
(Californians). The rhetorical devices that each side provides is persuasion. Each side has good evidence that explains why and why it's not good. It
helps the community. Children that can easily fall ill, will not get ill. It not only benefits kids, but also older people. Those that are old and have a
weak immune system can live a longer life. It benefits our community, not just the person. But on the opposing side they show that some vaccines can
make kids feel ill and can even result to death.

Minimum Drinking Age Summary
In this article "Minimum Drinking Age: Should the minimum drinking age in the United States remain 21?" the author describes both sides of the
argument with lots of evidence and facts to back up both sides. Just before that the article states some background information about the topic and what
it was like in the 1970 – 2000. He says that before 1970 the Legal Drinking Age was lower than 21 but got changed because of an outcry of people
complaining of a lot of drunk driving accidents. The first stars starting changing their laws in 1975. Ever since that date it has been a debate whether it
should've changed back or not. The author then goes into the first argument. The first argument was what the supporters argue: what supporters say.

It could cause permanent damage on the brain too. The next argument in this section is that the drunk driving number went down when it was changed
from 18 to 21 in the 1970's. The author states "Across the country, alcohol–related car crashes among drivers aged 16 to 20 declined by 61% from 1982
to 1998, according to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA)." The author then says "It has prevented scores of negative
alcohol–related incidents in addition to car crashes, such as fights, alcohol overdoses and other types of accidents, they say, many of which never
get reported and therefore are not reliably tracked." Meaning that many of the statistics are not properly getting tracked so some are just not
accounted for. The final argument he makes is about "the trickle down effect." It states that if 18 high school students can purchase alcohol than they
would be buying it for a bunch of younger kids in high school so they can drink. While it's at 21 it's a lot harder for a younger high school student to
get alcohol from a 21 year

Judy Collins Pros And Cons
"Both Sides Now" was a song written by Joni Mitchell but first recorded by Judy Collins, a folk singer, in the Album WildfFlowers, in 1967. The
version created by Judy Collins was a top–ten hit on the U.S. singles chart during the fall of 1968. A year later, Joni Mitchell produced the album
Clouds in which "Both sides, now" was included. Again, Mitchell re–recorded the song in a lush, orchestrated fashion for her 2000 album Both Sides.
Notably, the Judy Collins version of the song reached number 8 on the U.S. pop singles charts by December and number 6 in Canada. "Both Sides
Now" also won a Grammy Award for Best Folk Performance in 1969. Furthermore, it is essential to understand the songwriter's state of mind during the

The rest of the song continues to convey the same message but uses more personal and realistic tales that continue to rhyme; for example, the 2nd
verse illustrates a warm summer night at a fair in the 1960s while the 1st verse used an abstract approach by mentioning clouds blocking the light.
Similarly, the 3rd verse is more relatable than the 2nd verse and shows a more personal touch in which the songwriter mentions that she used to express
her emotions freely, but was critiqued by others. The song ends with the

Autonomy In Both Sides Now
Autonomy is derived from the idea that men can govern themselves according to their own values or desires. Immanuel Kant defined a person to be
autonomous if the choices and actions of a person are not affected by external or inessential factors. People who allow themselves to be affected by
outside factors such as peer pressure, religious authority, or their own desires, lack autonomy. Kant also believed if one was acting with autonomy, then
that person should recognize the intrinsic value of all rational beings because there is no difference between their rationality and that of others. In the
episode, Both Sides Now, the viewer gets to see how two main characters struggle with their autonomy and the effects of their actions on the people
around them. In the beginning of the episode, the viewer is shown the reality that Dr. House has created for himself. He awakes from his bed with the
notion that he has had sexual relations with Dr. Cuddy. As he looks around his home, he... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Pythagorean Theorem Was Discovered And First Proven By...
Background:
The Pythagorean Theorem was discovered and first proven by the Greek mathematician, Pythagoras. The Pythagorean Theorem states that the sum of
the squares of the two legs of a right triangle equals the square of the hypotenuse of the triangle. In simpler words, when looking at the right triangle
below, aВІ+bВІ=cВІ. This major discovery in the history of mathematics lead to the accomplishments of many other basic things we do in life. The
Pythagorean Theorem does not just stop at the famous equation of aВІ+bВІ=cВІ, but it has many other aspects. Whole numbers that can fit into this
theorem are commonly referred to as Pythagorean Triples. The Pythagorean Theorem includes numerous amounts of poofs, from the basic proof to the

Once the concept of the Pythagorean Triples was discovered, mathematicians were eager to validate the concept. Euclid created a widely accepted
formula in deriving a Pythagorean Triple, which can be proved with the help of the unit circle and algebra.
Euclid's Formula and its Proof
Euclid's formula for a Pythagorean triple is: a = 2mn, b = m^2 – n^2, c = m^2 + n^2
The variables: m and n: stand for positive, rational integers. It is important to remember that m has to be greater than n, otherwise the statement valuing
variable b on a Pythagorean triangle would be false because b cannot
This can be understood in terms of the rational points on the unit circle. A unit circle is a circle with the radius of 1.
We can draw a right triangle: a and b are the legs c is the hypotenuse
In the next part, we must use the trigonometric identity of sin2+cos2=1. For representational purposes, we must look towards the following diagram for
how the triangle would be represented in this proof.
The next step in formulating this next equation would require us to find the sine and cosine of triangleABC. The sine formula is opposite/hypotenuse,
which would equate to a/c. Additionally, the formula for cosine is adjacent/hypotenuse, equating to b/c. Knowing the trigonometric identity, we can
derive the new eqution:
For the next step, we will need to know the equation of a [unit] circle: x2 + y2 = 1
We know that

Summary and Reflection of Both Sides Of Time by Caroline...
For the Third Quarter SSR Project I chose the book Both Sides Of Time by Caroline B. Cooney. I settled on this fiction book not only because I've
read all three books in Cooney's series Time Travelers Quartet, but it just so happens to be my favorite out of all of them. This book is gripping to me
because of the events happening in the book. A hopeless romantic going back in time, involved in twolove triangles in two different centuries, then
forced to leave one that she loves either way. I relish reading any kind of love stories, but I especially enjoyed this one because of the twisted
storylines. This book starts off simple in the beginning then surely escalates. Annie Lockwood, the main character is a typical teenage girl who just...

Harriet and she accepted. She thought that now that Ms. Lockwood had Strat's eyes only for on her, she wouldn't have chance on marrying who she

Rowwels turned out to be Mathew's murderer and Annie ended up going back to her own time, in 1995. There, she tells her mother that her father is
cheating on her. Then poor Annie realizes, in the 19th century, Strat is doing the same thing to Harriet and feels guilty, because it's her fault. So to not
interfere with history, she goes back to the 18th century, kisses Strat then breaks up with him, and goes back to her own time very heart broken about it.
If I needed to change any part of the story to make it more Hollywood style, it would be to make some parts of the story a little more intense and
dramatic. For example, I think that Harriet's jealousy of Annie should be emphasized more in the film. In the film, Harriet should try to do schism
things to Annie and Strat's relationship or cry to Strat's family to convince them to hate

science and technology has since come around and we are now able to not only know what active ingredients are in natural home remedies but they
can also learn what minor to little side effects might be associated with the home remedy. Natural home remedies whether they are herbal or
supplemental have been found to be very beneficial to keeping your body healthy and have also been shown work quickly and effectively.
Prescription medication has also been around for quite some time now and also aid in eliminating symptoms both quickly and effectively. However,
many of the prescription drugs used today for your most common illnesses or health conditions are packed full of some pretty nasty side effects, which

Sex Education Is An Important, Emotional And Controversial
Sex education is an important, emotional and controversial topic to teach youth in today's world. The question is, what is the best information, and the
best way to teach them? Comprehensive sex education is teaching teens how to practice safe sex, providing teens with types of protection, and how to
use it, as well as services and resources available to help them in making decisions to practice safe sex. Abstinence–only programs teach teens to not
have sex, or anything "arousing" until marriage, and the real world fear of contracting STDs.
Claims, Assumptions, and Support (Melissa)

Comprehensive Sex education programs which teach abstinence followed by sexual safety is better than abstinence–only programs because it is a
realistic and effective approach not to confuse students. Emphasis on abstinence and the use of protection for those who choose to have sex showed
convincing evidence of positive influence on teens ' sexual behavior, including delaying initiation of sex and increasing condom and contraceptive use.
Research shows teaching abstinence alone has no effect on delaying teens starting sexual activities this would give the recipients the best of both
worlds. A balanced sex education program should be taught to help students with decision–making skills to help them through their entire life.
Types of Arguments (Laura) The types of arguments seen in the articles are evaluation and proposal. On both sides of the argument, people claim either
abstinence–only programs or comprehensive sex education are good, bad, better, best or indifferent. Some argue that having both programs in one
curriculum is best. For example, in the article "Key Questions for Consideration as a New Federal Teen Pregnancy Prevention Initiative in

abstinence–only programs because it is a realistic and effective approach that is not confusing to students. One example of arguing for comprehensive

A Case Study : Joni Mitchell
A Case of You
Born on November 7th, 1943, in Fort Macleod, Canada, Joni Mitchell was quick to success. "After teaching herself how to play the guitar, she went
off to art college and quickly emerged as one of the leading folk performers of the late 1960s and '70s." ("Joni Mitchell"). Some of her most notable
songs include "Big Yellow Taxi
", "Both Sides Now", and "A Case of You". "A Case of You" is arguably her most successfulsong. It was written in 1970
and later released on her album, Blue, in 1971. It has been covered by a multitude of artists and given her outrageous success in this music industry.
She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2007. She released her nineteenth, and
final studio album, Shine, in 2007 which was her first album in nearly a decade. Since then, she has been battling a long line of ongoing heath issues.
She contracted polio at the age of nine and has sought treatment for Morgellons disease. Additionally, in 2015 she suffered from an aneurysm, but has
since then made a full recovery and is said to be living comfortably on her own. What seems to separate Joni Mitchell from other folk artists of her
time is her use of instrumentals. Her use of specific instruments is what allows her songs to be very vocally driven, as the instrumentals tend to be
very soft. For example, in "A Case of You", she used an Appalachian Dulcimer as the forefront instrument. On the recorded version of this

I will make the function equal to 88.4 which is the temperature of the body when the Police first measured it. Then I will solve for the difference
between the two values within the parentheses, and as a result of this I get a value of 30.6. Next I will subtract 68 from both sides and divide 30.6
from sides. The function now becomes 0.6667 = e–0.0870t and just like I did to the function to determine the value of k I will take the natural log of
both sides so that the (e) will cancel out. After I do this the function becomes ln(0.6667) = –0.0870t. Lastly, to determine the value of t I will divide
–0.0870 from both sides which leaves t with the value of 4.6599 hours. I then multiplied .6599 by 60 to determine the exact value in minutes for t, so
the resulting value of t is 4 hours and 40 minutes. In conclusion, the estimated time of Mr. Rodriguez's death was at approximately 12:20 am. After

The Militarization Of Officer Joe Cartoon Analysis

The Militarization of Officer Joe What comes to mind when hearing the word cops? Some may think safety, others may think violence. It appears that
there may be more answers than we first thought. In the cartoon titled "The Militarization of Officer Joe", by MAD Magazine, the topic of police
procedures in early 21 century America is introduced. The cartoon titled "The Runaway", published in 1958, was created by artist Norman Rockwell,
depicting his view on 20th Century America. Norman Rockwell passed away in 1978. In the year 2014, MAD magazine created a new cartoon in the
same setting, but of a completely different view. Many elements of imagery are built into the cartoon, including balance, symbolism, captions, and
emotion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the "then" side, the caption of the image reads 1958: "The Runaway." After reading this I noticed a small red sack placed under the boy next to the
cop. This informs that the boy being spoken to by the police officer, may in fact be a runaway. Still, the situation does not seem to raise much concern
to the author, or even the police officer in that matter. The focus seems to be on the boy, being that he is most likely the runaway, and the police
officer means to calmly convince him of changing his mind. On the "now" side of the cartoon, the caption reads 2014 "The Militarization Of Officer
Joe." Even the title of this image is violent. Dressed as though going into military combat, this caption suits the image very well. The police officer
poses a much greater threat to the boy next to him on the "now" side, compared to the "then" side. The captions under each image help to provide a
much greater understanding of the message in this cartoon. While one caption seems to focus on the boy and his well being, the other caption focuses
on the cop, and the violence associated with

This ad only attempted to show the negative side of Republican side of the election. They used Trump only harsh words to show an unpolished type

industry as an example. There was limited introduction, only a sign of hope for the ads (America Soaring (Rebuilding America Now), 2016).
Of the 15 Republican ads for 2016 provided on the Living Room Candidate site, only four were positive type ads. The 11 ads were direct attacks on
the Democrat side of this election. Only until the last video on the Democrat side had a positive message (Tomorrow). Of the 15 Democrat ads, 14 all
attempted to use Donald Trump's own words from mass media to create a negative image on what could have meant when it was originally said.
Democrat ads attempted to use a chronic minority namely the children of illegals that the other candidate is using as a needing a stronger immigration
policy (Krutz, et al., 2016).
Examining these two–time periods, generally the Republican ads appeared more positive than the Democrat side. The Republicans attempted to use
their own record than attacking the other side. Both sides used the political socialization in showing that the other candidate is not the one you should

Scallops for my entree. The Leek and Bacon Risotto was simply amazing, possessing a enjoyable bacon flavor. His dessert course was a strawberry
rhubarb cobbler with vanilla ice cream. He loved it so much that I only got a small bite, but it was really excellent. I am not a fan of fruit cobbler or
pies but I could have ordered this and been perfectly satisfied. I opted for the Toasted Georgia Pecan and Walnut Pie

Comparing Romeo And Juliet And West Side Story
Two groups, two cities, two stories, two pairs of lovers. Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet play is set in Verona and the two families, the Montagues
and Capulets, despise each other. Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet fall in love but their story turns into a tragedy. In the West Side Story, two
gangs in New York who hate each other fight and never stop. Tony, on the Jets side, and Maria, on the Sharks side fall in love and take sacrifice.
Romeo and Juliet and the West Side Story have similarities and differences on how the characters are portrayed and the setting of each production.
Between these two stories, the setting is very alike and different. At the start of both of the stories, the setting is completely different from each other.
In Romeo and Juliet, the setting is in beautiful Verona, Italy. In West Side Story, the setting is in a poor part of New York mainly on the streets.
These two differ on not just how the settings look, its on how the people look. In Romeo and Juliet, the setting is fancy so everybody dresses, acts,
and even speaks more elegantly. In... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One difference is that in Romeo and Juliet, Juliet kills herself. The reason she kills herself is because Romeo died. In the West Side Story, Maria
was horrified and angry at everybody in the Sharks and Jets because since they argued and hated each other so much, it would even go to killing.
Maria shouts" All of you! You all killed him! And my brother, and Riff. Not with bullets, or guns, with hate. Well now I can kill, too, because now I
have hate!". This is showing how Maria is very angry about Tony's death. Despite have differences Maria and Juliet also compare in many ways. One
thing is that a rumor goes around saying that they are both dead. Also, both of them want all of the fighting between the two groups to stop. The main
thing that differs between Maria and Juliet is Maria never

Gun Debate to Bear Arms Essay
For the last few years when you turn on the news there has been a mass shooting somewhere in the United States. This sparked up massive debates
about the right to bear arms. Then lobbyists like the NRA, (National Rifle Association), step in and started to protect our rights to have firearms. Since
then people all over the United States have been debating about gun rights. The Second Amendment, "a well regulated militia, being necessary to the
security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed" is the most debated amendment in the Constitution. There
are two sides to the gun debates. The first is the Gun Rights Activists. They stand for the right to carry guns for self–defense and personal... Show more

Some of these people also want to just ban guns all together. One this side there are a lot of smaller, unknown groups that support the Gun Control
Lobby. Since this side has so many groups that support it, each group wants something a bit different. There could be a group that wants all guns
to be ban from the public, where another group may just want longer background checks. This could become a really big problem because there
could be debates going on inside that lobby. It is a problem because you can't fight for something if you don't know what that thing is. Right now
this hasn't become a problem yet because I believe for the time being they are just trying to get bans on high round magazines and assault rifles.
Gun Control lobby makes a lot of good points like shooting at a cardboard box isn't a sport and an assault weapon won't save you. My opinion is
very mixed now that looked at both sides. Before I looked in to the Gun Control side I hated it. I didn't like the idea of someone trying to make it
harder for me to shoot guns but now I am ok with some things that they say. I think both sides are wrong, Gun Rights is wrong because some of the
laws are way to loose and could have prevented some of the events; Gun Control is wrong because taking away all guns takes away a lot of jobs. But
I also believe that both sides are right, Gun Rights is right because it is one of our amendments and we do have the right to own guns; Gun Control

Westie Body Research Paper Cut Style

  • 1. Westie Body Research Paper The Westie body is cut in the same way as the Schnauzer with the face being cut circular and having pointed ear tips, this can be achieved as follows. With the dog facing you, comb the hair above the eyes to form a fringe, using scissors cut straight across the fringe and comb it backwards, now comb the hair at the side of the eyes and hold the hair outwards between two fingers, cut the hair in a curved motion close to the fingers and towards the fringe, repeating the same process on the other side. This should then give a small visor effect around the eyes. Repeat this all over the head from front to back curving the scissors around the head creating the now circular shape. Comb the hair through and ensure it is all the same length, the hair ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. The Pros And Cons Of The Pilgrims The first Europeans had arrived to North America, and it's safe to say that that they weren't exactly prepared to face the hardships ahead of them. Unfortunately they had to go through a hard winter which killed many of the Pilgrims that had come here, about 54 of them to be exact. Without a doubt they couldn't survive on their own in the New World without a little help, and that is when Natives took notice. The Natives had come to the Pilgrims and through one native who knew broken english, brought the Pilgrims to their chief. From then on both sides have worked together, and with benefit, since they needed to work together to survive cause the Natives knew the land and the Pilgrims had more advanced technology, it was essential for both sides to work together. There are examples in "In Plymouth Plantation" several times that the Natives and Pilgrims need to work together in order to survive. Back in the winter the pilgrims had a terrible time trying to survive. It had been a long journey already and now without knowing the land itself it would be worse later on. Winter had passed but then came along a Native named Samoset. Samoset came to them speaking broken english but the Pilgrims who just had survived a hard time we're marveled that he could speak english at all. As example by this excerpt "a certain Indian came boldly amongst them and spoke to them in broken English, which they could well understand but marveled at it."(In Plymouth Plantation, Section 5: Indian ... • 3. Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde Good Vs Evil "A moment before I had been safe of all men's respect, wealthy, beloved–the cloth laying for me in the dining–room at home; and now I was the common quarry of mankind, hunted, houseless, a known murderer, thrall to the gallows." The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, written by Robert Louis Stevenson, explains that everyone has a dark side to them. In Dr. Jekyll's case, it was Mr. Hyde. As the book goes on, Mr. Jekyll's dark side soon becomes stronger than the good side and takes over the body. Many people question which theme fits best with this book, since many themes show as you read on. On one side of the debate, people think there are better fitting themes for The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde such as violence because of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although some argue that Good vs. Evil is not the best fitting theme because if one side of a person is evil, the whole is evil. Certainly, this may be true, but Dr.Jekyll was always trying to right Mr. Hyde's wrongs. Throughout the book, Dr.Jekyll does all he can to be in control of his dark side. He tries to cover his mistakes up and fight the urge to transform into Hyde. He fights for his good side to win. First, the text explains, "Yes, I had gone to bed Henry Jekyll, I had awakened Edward Hyde." (68). Mr. Hyde was starting to become the dominant side. Dr. Jekyll was afraid after this event had occurred. Following this, Dr. Jekyll had made a promise to himself that he wouldn't turn into Hyde anymore because it had gotten out of control. Secondly, the author points out, "I have been doomed to such a dreadful shipwreck: that man is not truly one, but truly two." (61). This quote explains that there is a good and evil side to every man. But, in Jekyll's case, one side, the evil side, can and will eventually grow with power. Thirdly, the book cites, "I bring the life of that unhappy Henry Jekyll to an end." (78). In the end, Jekyll must commit suicide to keep Mr. Hyde from taking over his whole body. This action proves that the the good side did everything he could to keep the bad side from being in control, even if that means death. Given these points, it is clear that, Good vs. Evil is the theme because good must strive to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Nature Vs. Nurture Influences Personality Nature is genetics and it influences personality. Take Anais and sam, for example, they were separated at birth and were raised across the globe yet they both like the same things. They are outgoing and have the same sense of humor. They were very dramatic and spoke with their hands. So many things are the same with them even though they were raised across the world. Another good example of nature are the Jim twins. They were raised in different homes but are very alike. They chose to buy the same car, same cigarettes, and even the same beer. They both became deputy sheriffs. Both named their children James Allen. They were both very involved in woodworking. My favorite piece of evidence is jack and oscar. Even though Jack was raised Jewish and Oscar was raised nazi they are strikingly similar. They walk alike talk alike and even have the same opinion on certain foods. They wore the same jacket and same glasses when they met each other. Another thing they like to do is scare people with very loud sneezes. These are all the facts I have compiled for the nature side of view, but now we can take a look at nurture side of view. Nurture is your environment and it also helps shape personality. A good example of nurture is the feral child Oxana. She was raised by dogs. She would walk and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. Themes In Mexican White Boy For better or for worse, what race we are makes up a significant part of our identity and influences our everyday lives. Racial identity is a theme in Mexican Whiteboy, a novel by Matt De La PeГ±a, where he follows Danny, a teen baseball player who is from Latino and white descent as he struggles to fit in with both races he's a part of. Danny adores his Latino father, who fled the family to live in Mexico, and while his Mexican side of the family accepts him, he still feels like an outsider. Race is also explored, a poem written by Rudolpho Gonzales. The main person of the poem, Joaquin, is a mix of Spanish and Indian, giving him ancestors of both sides of the history talked about in the novel. Like Danny, Joaquin experiences a conflict with ... In result of this, he blames himself and his white heritage for the times experienced by both sides of his heritage. They both see their white ancestry as a low point to their whole lives. Both Danny and Joaquin's identity conflicts help them grow on a personal basis, but each in different ways. At the end of Danny's summer, he spends his final night surrounded by his friends. • 6. Gun Control And The Safety Of The Future Gun Control "We must respect the past, and mistrust the present, if we wish to provide for the safety of the future" was a quote by Joseph Joubert, a well–known essayist, put it simply. People ought to learn from and respect the past, don't trust the present, all to make the future better. This is something to always live by because the past is not always right and the future should be provided for. Joubert had the right idea. Everyone could learn from his ideology even if they do not completely agree. A topic that is relevant right now and to this quote is gun control. Owning guns is our constitutional right. Many people take that right too far by purchasing military grade firearms. People have become divided on this very current issue. Some say there should be stronger restrictions on purchasing or owning a firearm, while other say there should not be stronger restrictions on purchasing or owning a firearm. Regardless of opinion, now is the right time for both sides to reach a compromise about this very important issue. For the group that supports stronger gun control, their belief is justified. One reason for stronger control is that the second amendment was planned for militia back in colonial america. Colonists used guns for hunting, the Revolutionary war, and protection. At this time it was required by law that all men eligible for militia to own a gun ("Background"). The need for able men to fight was a concern in Colonial America. Furthermore, supporters of ... • 7. Hamlet's Defense In Hamlet The tragedy based play, Hamlet, was written by William Shakespeare between the years 1601 and 1603. The play is a story about revenge, what is morally correct and wrong, and is themed around the previously aforementioned topic, tragedy. The main character, Hamlet, has been struck with the tragedies of his father's quietus and the quick re–marriage of his mother to his uncle. Now as with any great argument there needs to be a main point, a claim so to speak, and the claim to this argument is about whether Hamlet's behaviors are in agreement with the societal expectations and political views during the Middle Ages. To make things easier, names will be given to those who are on both sides of the claim, so those who are in agreement with the claim will be called the defense, and those who expostulate the claim will be the prosecution. With this argument, the prosecution, those who disagree with the claim, will be the side that is being argued for and believed in. In this argument, the metaphorical defense of the claim, believes that Hamlet's actions are in agreement with the societal expectations and political views of the Late Middle Ages. Now this agreement can be believable with the evidence to support it, which the defense can find as in any other given argument or disagreement. There are a few types of evidence that the defense could've found, such as things like the political, social, and psychological factors that could prove their side of the claim. A piece of evidence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Bias Against Israel In this world today one topic appears in the news almost daily. Israel and the Gaza Strip. • 9. The Giver By Lois Lowry: Character Analysis Wisdom is not a product of schooling, but a lifelong attempt to acquire it,–– Albert Einstein. This quote ties in very well with a book, "The Giver" by, Lois Lowry. It starts with an 11–year–old boy named Jonas. Jonas lives in a community that is perfect. No war, starvation or divorce. He lives with his assigned parents and friends. The residents in this town have only good memories and experiences, but to grow into a whole individual you need to be exposed to both the good and bad things in the world. When exposed to good things, it brings out people's good side. Bad experiences bring out people's sensitive or protected side, together they are building a person's personality into a whole individual. Favorable memories and experiences will bring out the happier side in people. On page 52 of the giver Jonas is having his first memory, "the sled, with Jonas himself on it began to move through the snowfall,(lowry). When the giver showed Jonas what releases was, "the memory came back, he killed it, my father killed it"(Lowry 188). Jonas realized that his community was, in fact, a very cruel place. Alo realizes that the simple release of a baby, what he once thought as happy and peaceful, now as murder. • 10. Trigonometry: Right Triangle Trigonometry Right Triangle Trigonometry is the study of triangle measurements. When the Egyptians first used a sundial around 1500 B.C., they were using trigonometry (Burrill, Gail p 376). Trigonometric ratio is a ratio of the lengths of two sides of a right triangle. The three common ratios. They are sin, cosine, and tangent. They have abbreviations are sin, cos, and tan. The triangle shown to the left is a right triangle. Each side has a number because that is its side length. As we see there is a number 5. This side is called the hypotenuse. The hypotenuse is always the side the is directly across from the 90o angle. There is a number 3. This side is called adjacent. And there is also a number 4. This side is called opposite. There is an acronym... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Give the lengths to the nearest tenth. There are many ways to get started, but today we are going to start off with the side XW. We first need to find out what a is. You can use a calculator. We know that a is opposite of angle Y. So now if you see we are able to use the tangent function because we have the opposite side of 65 degrees and the adjacent side of 65 degrees which is 5. So Tan 65o= a/5. Now we can solve for a. So we are going to multiply both sides of the equation by 5. And we are left with a= 5 x tan 650. Now we can get our calculators out and figure out what this is to the nearest tenth. Now the number you will get is 10.7225346025. But it says to round to the nearest tenth. So the answer for a is approximately equal to 10.7. So we now know that a has an approximate length of 10.7. Now its time to tackle the side YW. We can go two ways, we can use Trigonometric Function, or we can use the Pythagorean Theorem. I am going to use the Trigonometric Functions. So Cosine deals with the Adjacent over the Hypotenuse. To continue we are going to take cos 65o= 5/b. and then we multiply both sides by b, and you are left with b x cos 65o = 5. And then to solve for b you are going to divide both sides by cos 65o which is equal to b=5/cos 65o. And now you ender that into your Calculator and you end up with b is approximately 11.8. We are almost done salving this right triangle. The next thing we do is we need to find the measure of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Jazz Music In West Side Story And Romeo And Juliet In my essay I am going to bring up three different topics. How jazz music makes West Side Story be evocative of the decade in which it was written, how gang related music would change West Side Story and Romeo and Juliet, and further how different Romeo and Juliet would be if they would of sang rather than spoke their soliloquy. Each of these topics has gang related actions and how music defines the gangs. In West Side Story both Acts 1 and 2 are mostly instrumental, allowing suspense to form in each scene. In the 1950's, gangs are growing more and more. With West Side Story being in New York, there were the Jets and the Sharks.Jazz music help bring out the actions in each of the two gangs and helps bring out each of the characters and shows who they really are. In 'Tonight,' the characters are reflecting on their hopes and dreams. Bernstein crafted the music to mirror the visions of each character. Jazz music helps build suspense in many scenes in West Side Story, for instance, in "The Gangs Fight in the Street," the music starts to become allegro and the snaps of their fingers build the suspense even more. The jazz helps show the differences in each gang and how their actions are like that of the sounds of jazz orchestra. West Side Story also has classical andpop music played throughout it, and at certain instances all three can be heard together. At the very end of the musical, the music become piano; and the hurt and anger from Maria is radiated from the music choice. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The idea of war has and never will be based solely on skill or intellect. Sure they're not going to give an untrained man a gun but the idea of war is far more perplexed than just that. Its about honor, integrity, and discipline. War has not only changed over the past 150 years but in the 3 or 4 years that war is actually going on. People, weapons, and motives are all changing from the time the first boy takes a step onto the journey to finding himself. From the first face you see to the last everything changes some good, some bad but in the end all you can do is march forward. War has changed in many ways one being the sensitivity of war. It has decreased from the the moment the war starts to the very end of it. In both The Red Badge of Courage and Alls Quiet on The Western front both Paul and Henry were excited to go and to use real guns and weapons. But in that moment when they kill their first target it affects them on a deeper, more personal level. In The Red Badge of Courage Henry was very excited to go to war and still went even when his mom advised against it. The greatest struggle a person can go through is trying to get out of their own heads and stop themselves from feeling above anybody else, because in the end, each person deserves the same treatment because they all born the same and they will all suffer the same fate in the end. Heart of Darkness, written by Joseph Conrad, and Apocalypse Now, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, both feature a similar scene that demonstrates how cruel, violent human relation can never be justified because, in the end, each and every person is on the same level. Romeo & Juliet and West Side Story separately teach a lesson of how conflict can cause you to learn to hate others instead of learning to love. But the main two characters of each story defy it. Why are we so afraid of what's on the other side of the border? Zen is the psychology of accepting both sides. It is accepting that good and evil are both a part of your life, so there is no need to strive for one or fear the other. Pain is essential for pleasure, if pleasure is to be known as pleasure. Therefore, denial of one of these sides is like denying the existence of both ends. If we believe that evil cannot exist, then good cannot exist, because then there is nothing to compare it to. However, if we accept that both good and evil exist in our lives, it can allow us to feel more at home in the world. We can feel that the world is already whole, and that our lives are already perfect because we are living it. Acceptance also opens up the freedom in our lives. By accepting that we could one day be a failure, we start removing the fear of failure from our want to succeed. Our striving to succeed is then a choice, and not a product of our fear. Through our acceptance of our own fears, we will conquer them. But what is truly accepting everything in life? How can we truly accept everything that happens to us? Would making an effort to change be just another attempt to escape an aspect of ourselves? After all, to truly be accepting, you have to accept that you may not be truly accepting, right? Euclid created a widely accepted formula in deriving a Pythagorean Triple, which can be proved with the help of the unit circle and algebra. Euclid's Formula and its Proof Euclid's formula for a Pythagorean triple is: a = 2mn, b = m^2 – n^2, c = m^2 + n^2 The variables: m and n: stand for positive, rational integers. It is important to remember that m has to be greater than n, otherwise the statement valuing variable b on a Pythagorean triangle would be false because b cannot This can be understood in terms of the rational points on the unit circle. A unit circle is a circle with the radius of 1. We can draw a right triangle: a and b are the legs c is the hypotenuse In the next part, we must use the trigonometric identity of sin2+cos2=1. For representational purposes, we must look towards the following diagram for how the triangle would be represented in this proof. The next step in formulating this next equation would require us to find the sine and cosine of triangleABC. The sine formula is opposite/hypotenuse, which would equate to a/c. Additionally, the formula for cosine is adjacent/hypotenuse, equating to b/c. Knowing the trigonometric identity, we can derive the new eqution: For the next step, we will need to know the equation of a [unit] circle: x2 + y2 = 1 We know that

Annie and Strat still kept going on cute, cheesy dates, but never kissed. The next week, in the library, Mr. Rowwels proposed marriage to Harriet and she accepted. She thought that now that Ms. Lockwood had Strat's eyes only for on her, she wouldn't have chance on marrying who she loved, which was Hiram Stratton, and thought that marriage to someone she didn't love would be better than absolutely no marriage at all. Mr. Rowwels turned out to be Mathew's murderer and Annie ended up going back to her own time, in 1995. There, she tells her mother that her father is cheating on her. Then poor Annie realizes, in the 19th century, Strat is doing the same thing to Harriet and feels guilty, because it's her fault. So to not interfere with history, she goes back to the 18th century, kisses Strat then breaks up with him, and goes back to her own time very heart broken about it. If I needed to change any part of the story to make it more Hollywood style, it would be to make some parts of the story a little more intense and dramatic. For example, I think that Harriet's jealousy of Annie should be emphasized more in the film. In the film, Harriet should try to do schism things to Annie and Strat's relationship or cry to Strat's family to convince them to hate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 30. Sex Education Is An Important, Emotional And Controversial Sex education is an important, emotional and controversial topic to teach youth in today's world. The question is, what is the best information, and the best way to teach them? Comprehensive sex education is teaching teens how to practice safe sex, providing teens with types of protection, and how to use it, as well as services and resources available to help them in making decisions to practice safe sex. Abstinence–only programs teach teens to not have sex, or anything "arousing" until marriage, and the real world fear of contracting STDs. Claims, Assumptions, and Support (Melissa) Abstinence versus Comprehensive Sex education seems to be the same arguments as over the past twenty years. On one side of the argument are the supporters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Comprehensive Sex education programs which teach abstinence followed by sexual safety is better than abstinence–only programs because it is a realistic and effective approach not to confuse students. Emphasis on abstinence and the use of protection for those who choose to have sex showed convincing evidence of positive influence on teens ' sexual behavior, including delaying initiation of sex and increasing condom and contraceptive use. Research shows teaching abstinence alone has no effect on delaying teens starting sexual activities this would give the recipients the best of both worlds. A balanced sex education program should be taught to help students with decision–making skills to help them through their entire life. Types of Arguments (Laura) The types of arguments seen in the articles are evaluation and proposal. On both sides of the argument, people claim either abstinence–only programs or comprehensive sex education are good, bad, better, best or indifferent. Some argue that having both programs in one curriculum is best. For example, in the article "Key Questions for Consideration as a New Federal Teen Pregnancy Prevention Initiative in Implemented" by Heather Boonstra, Boonstra claims, sexual education programs that teach abstinence followed by sexual safety are better than abstinence–only programs because it is a realistic and effective approach that is not confusing to students. Another change is how parents and students view teachers before it was like yea the teacher is on a high pedestal. Now not really or at all considering the way the artist drew the cartoon how now students took it as a joke and parents blaming and shamming from the teacher. • 32. A Case Study : Joni Mitchell A Case of You Born on November 7th, 1943, in Fort Macleod, Canada, Joni Mitchell was quick to success. "After teaching herself how to play the guitar, she went off to art college and quickly emerged as one of the leading folk performers of the late 1960s and '70s." ("Joni Mitchell"). Some of her most notable songs include "Big Yellow Taxi ", "Both Sides Now", and "A Case of You". "A Case of You" is arguably her most successfulsong. It was written in 1970 and later released on her album, Blue, in 1971. It has been covered by a multitude of artists and given her outrageous success in this music industry. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2007. She released her nineteenth, and final studio album, Shine, in 2007 which was her first album in nearly a decade. Since then, she has been battling a long line of ongoing heath issues. She contracted polio at the age of nine and has sought treatment for Morgellons disease. Additionally, in 2015 she suffered from an aneurysm, but has since then made a full recovery and is said to be living comfortably on her own. What seems to separate Joni Mitchell from other folk artists of her time is her use of instrumentals. Her use of specific instruments is what allows her songs to be very vocally driven, as the instrumentals tend to be very soft. For example, in "A Case of You", she used an Appalachian Dulcimer as the forefront instrument. On the recorded version of this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

First I will replace 88.4 within the parentheses with 98.6 because the initial temperature of Mr. Rodriguez's body was 98.6. Then I will make the function equal to 88.4 which is the temperature of the body when the Police first measured it. Then I will solve for the difference between the two values within the parentheses, and as a result of this I get a value of 30.6. Next I will subtract 68 from both sides and divide 30.6 from sides. The function now becomes 0.6667 = e–0.0870t and just like I did to the function to determine the value of k I will take the natural log of both sides so that the (e) will cancel out. After I do this the function becomes ln(0.6667) = –0.0870t. Lastly, to determine the value of t I will divide –0.0870 from both sides which leaves t with the value of 4.6599 hours. I then multiplied .6599 by 60 to determine the exact value in minutes for t, so the resulting value of t is 4 hours and 40 minutes. In conclusion, the estimated time of Mr. Rodriguez's death was at approximately 12:20 am. Some may think safety, others may think violence. It appears that there may be more answers than we first thought. In the cartoon titled "The Militarization of Officer Joe", by MAD Magazine, the topic of police procedures in early 21 century America is introduced. The cartoon titled "The Runaway", published in 1958, was created by artist Norman Rockwell, depicting his view on 20th Century America. Norman Rockwell passed away in 1978. In the year 2014, MAD magazine created a new cartoon in the same setting, but of a completely different view. Many elements of imagery are built into the cartoon, including balance, symbolism, captions, and emotion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the "then" side, the caption of the image reads 1958: "The Runaway." After reading this I noticed a small red sack placed under the boy next to the cop. This informs that the boy being spoken to by the police officer, may in fact be a runaway. Still, the situation does not seem to raise much concern to the author, or even the police officer in that matter. The focus seems to be on the boy, being that he is most likely the runaway, and the police officer means to calmly convince him of changing his mind. On the "now" side of the cartoon, the caption reads 2014 "The Militarization Of Officer Joe." Even the title of this image is violent. Dressed as though going into military combat, this caption suits the image very well. The police officer poses a much greater threat to the boy next to him on the "now" side, compared to the "then" side. The captions under each image help to provide a much greater understanding of the message in this cartoon. While one caption seems to focus on the boy and his well being, the other caption focuses on the cop, and the violence associated with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Second Amendment, "a well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed" is the most debated amendment in the Constitution.
