2. Holy Week
In Mexico is one of the best-known religious
celebrations and is the commemoration of the
Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
3. Holy Week starts on Dolores Friday
This day commemorates the pain of the Virgin María for the loss of her son.
The churches are adorned
with colorful flowers, paths
and flags of cut paper of
black, purple and white
colors.
4. The catholic community take these palms,
which are often blessed by clergy, to their
homes where they hang them alongside
Catholic art.
PALM SUNDAY
5. Holy Thursday
The Last Supper was the final meal Jesus shared with his
Disciples in Jerusalem. During the meal, Jesus predicts his
betrayal.
In the Catholic religion it is customary
to do foot washing.
7. Holy Saturday
• commemorates the day that
Jesus Christ lay in the tomb
after his death, according to
the Christian bible.
8. EASTER SUNDAY
• It is a very popular Celebration, in some places
they burn paper dolls that represent Judas, the
apostle who betrayed Jesus.
• This day ends Holy Week.
