The document provides feedback from three people - a mother (35), father (37), and friend (17) - who viewed the opening two minutes of the filmmaker's film Rapunzel. The mother enjoyed the storyline but did not think she would enjoy the rest of the film. The father strongly disliked it and could not relate being an action/superhero fan. However, the 17-year-old friend, a fellow media student, really liked it and could relate to the protagonist, wanting to see the rest of the film which offered depth through its realistic storyline and music.

Audience Feedback
1. Audience Feedback
I showed three people my opening two minute to our film Rapunzel and
then asked for their feedback on what they thought about it. I thought this would be a good
Choice of people as they are different ages and are of different gender.
2. Mother
35 years old
My mother said that when she watched the
film she said she could relate to the film,
because of the mother in the film. She said
that she enjoyed the storyline, but she said
that she didn’t feel that she would enjoy the
rest of the film.
By my mother’s comments I can see that her
age group is not the right age range that finds
our film appealing. This is because she
couldn’t ‘fully relate’ to the film and didn’t like
the overall genre of the film. My mother isn’t
really a person to watch a lot of films and she
said ‘the films that most appeal to me are
rom-coms.’ So she is more into mainstream
cinema then independent films like ours.
3. Father
37 years old
My father watched our two minute opening and
said he really didn’t like even with the thriller side
to the genre. Even though they my mother and
father are only a couple of years apart but they
both have a completely different choice of films
that they enjoy. My father enjoys ‘action or
superhero movies’ so, all high budget films. He
said he couldn’t relate to the film in anyway
because he didn’t feel he could relate to a 17 year
old girl.’
The age and gender difference of the protagonist
and my father is obviously a huge downfall to this
age group.
4. Friend
17 years old
As a fellow media student, my friend
said she really liked our two minute
opening as she liked the way she
could relate to the protagonist as they
are the same age. She enjoys
watching independent films more
then mainstream because she said
that they offer more depth to them.
So, she said ‘I would love to watch the
rest of the film as the storyline is
really well done, the choice of music
really did draw me into the whole
situation. She didn’t have an idea as
to what could be the twist in the film,
but she wanted to watch it, because
she enjoyed the realism of the film.
