4. Decisions:
• INSIDE: I used the split photo of Sophie and James (which worked
rather well in portraying the story).
• I used some of the song lyrics as a background behind the CD.
However, I planned to have the lyrics in straight columns, but after
testing this, it looked better in the middle, and fitted in nicely with the
text on the inner fold.
• OUTER COVER: I decided to use an empty ring box for the
significant image on the back, as I was able to stick it against my
plain background, and I felt it would appear more mystical without a
ring in.
• When the digipak is held closed, both the name of the artist and the
song can be seen, however, I decided to only have the artist’s name
on the front to avoid overcrowding. I also thought this would be good
as it gives the digipak a reversible effect; in shops, whether the front
of the digipak was facing up or the back was facing up, consumers
would be able to identify who’s CD it is.
